Delurking to show you my new Aph45 Vittoria that I went to pick-up at the post office yesterday! It's my first SartoriaJ doll and I really like her!! She is ivory warm color with bell bust, and type B face up.

I didn't find her final style yet, but no rush here... She goes really well with my Iple FIDs. I took some pictures of her and since I know that some of you like to have profile picture, I also took one. Definitely, it's a doll with a lot of character!

 

@lapivoine - What a lovely lady! And Thanks so much for including a full profile! SJ rarely ever does one...much to my dismay.

 

@lapivoine , She's beautiful!! I really like her better than I did in her promos!
And one of my fog gray Jude just because I was playing with him a bit. This is his human head, as last year SJ allowed you to get both human and fantasy head options in their fog gray sale. I had him done with Elf Dominic's fog gray face up.

@luluna Thanks! Her resin is so smooth and almost have a pearly finish. I really like her.

It's my only SartoriaJ (so far), but I like that they do sculpts with different type of noses!

I will start today to work on a modified FID pattern for a dress. I tried the ones I did for Iple FIDs and she can't enter in it (except the dress shown in the photos) because her hips are much larger. However, I'm glad that the shorts I made can fit her nicely, so I don't need to create another pattern for that. I hand sew and since it takes me a lot f time to produce each piece, I prefer when the dolls can share the clothes!

so i just bought second hand lobelia in msd size. She is afrodite body on warm yvory skin tone and bell type bust. She suppose to arrive in few days. so i will definetly change her eyes to lighter and smaller ones and will try to make some clothes.

 

I've received today my Naomi! I am absolutely chuffed!
Look at that face!! I can't believe Jay discontinued the sculpt, I feel lucky that I ordered before it happened.

my Lobelia arrived today and she is amazing. She have so inoccente look. In all sides i like her a lot. And dress for iplehouse fid and raccoondoll fits her most. I made dress long time ago.

 

She’s beautiful, and the dress really compliments her

Sartoriaj making amazing dolls. I love how good she is posing and holding poses. I have older iplehouse fid miho, and i dont like her posing at all. I prefer Sartoriaj dolls would say.

I remembered to update Jay on new address so Jude will come to the right place. Which is good. So hopefully sometime in September or October I will have Jude.

I recognised that Sartoriaj SD and MSD dolls lots of better on posing as iplehouse dolls. And i like they faces more. Somehow all faces looks different and some iplehouse dolls have same face look. But i still love my iplehouse dolls.

Vittoria in her new basic dress. I modified a bit the pattern I use for the Iple FID and I'm quite happy with the result!

 

So my Jude is now 'Order Status: Before shipment'. Anybody know what that means in terms of shipping timescale?

 

It means it's boxed up but not actually posted yet. Mine shipped either the next day or day after once it changed to that, if it helps.

 

My Elf Juliet arrived! I was so surprised by her ears, they really are quite large! She is warm ivory with company faceup and chest blushing. I happened to have perfect wig and eyes for her on hand, and once I had her ready for a portrait shot, I realized she strongly resembled my best friend! So I sent a picture to her and asked her to name my new elf.

I'm very happy with how the faceup looks on the warm ivory, she does not appear overly pale and still photographs very well. Her face and chest both have beautiful freckles which are sort of visible in the photo. What you don't see is all the glitter on her face, its beautiful as well but the camera didn't pick it up.

 

Naomi that I purchased in the discontinuation sale back in April showed up yesterday. She's really lovely. She is in the warm ivory resin tone

How do you like the outfit? I plan on buying it during the current event, would you recommend it?

 

@Amadiel the outfit has some pros and cons, and some things that's just going to be based on preference. For instance, it's kind of "sparkly"- the beads are faceted, and trims have shiny threads, the butterfly charms. These all make the outfit seem whimsical.

The pants fit well and the shirt has a button and ribbon tie at the waist....but oh my gosh those sleeves with all the tiny buttons are an effort to put on. The effect is lovely but time consuming.

The overdress is very low cut, barely covering her painted nips (the shirt is somewhat sheer), I'm not sure how it would fit on a larger bust. I have a SartoriaJ larger bust I could try it on if anyone is interested. Anyway, the little laces I couldnt do myself, I had to use a crochet hook. Tiny laces are pretty typical of SartoriaJ outfits so I'm not surprised.

Compared to the SartoriaJ Dryades set, I like that the sleeve buttons are more in scale. Compared to the SartoriaJ Daphne set, they both have very little bust coverage. (The Daphne set in particular I put on dolls slimmer than SartoriaJ just because it was too much cleavage exposure for me...but some people may want that look, nothing wrong with it just not what I was aiming for).

Overall I like the material, color, and the general silhouette but my crew is comprised of fantasy adventurers so sparkly and low cut doesn't fit in as well. Haha that was probably much more detail than you were interested in!

I can't decide between the Oreades set and the Meliades set, both outfits have parts I like and don't like. I sometimes wish they would sell tops, bottoms and accessoires seperately, but I believe that would be too much of a hassle. I still have a few days left to decide till the event ends.

They said on Instagram they were going to release new MSD clothes before the event ends, so I'm curious for that.

 

So I've just discovered these dolls and I love so many of them but all the girls are sold out. Are they like FIDs and just go on sale every other month? Does anyone know when they will next be up for sale?

 

There is a set timeframe to buy the dolls. You have to buy them within the deadline. Recently there was a discontinuation of some face sculpts. Here is a link to read about it:

There is usually from what I've observed always a new release after the previous doll's deadline has ended. Right now the tarot series Eugene is on sale. There will be 22 tarot dolls. Here is a link to read on it.

THE FOOL_DEMIANNOTICE - SartoriaJ

There are 4 tarot dolls so far. However, there was a gap between the 3rd and 4th one. The 3rd one was in June 15th to 30th while the 4th one (the current one on sale) is from October 7th to 23rd. In between the tarot dolls there was a special event going on. It was the summer sale event. This event had many dolls in a gray color and other special events. I learned you can only get layaway on clothing and accessories if you order a doll along with the outfits and accessories. If no doll then can't put it on layaway.

I'm not sure if there is an upcoming female doll because there is no preview of a female doll.

She is a beautiful doll. I regret not getting her on the 2022 summer event and the version you have. I kept deliberating on her for so long, but decided to skip both times. Now I have major regrets.

@nancy_schroeder_ca - Thanks. His shirt and coat are repurposed from thrift store finds, since you can't buy fabrics like that anymore. Same with his chain. I had that diamond trim forever (over thirty years) as well as the silk brocade I used on his shirt sleeves and upper surcoat. The only newer items out of my stash were the black leather fabric and clasps for his surcoat.

Ooh did everyone see the new 45Aph Jenice? She’s gorgeous!!!! I’ve been eyeing off the SartoriaJ dolls since they started but so far no sculpt has been the one to make me cave and actually buy one - but I think Jenice might be the one?! She’s so lovely!!!

 

She's definitely beautiful, and exactly what I had envisioned when I bought my 61APH last year, so I'm really sad she's a MSD, as I'd buy those clothes so fast!

 

I adore her clothes too!!! But usually I make my own clothes as it all gets too pricey otherwise. Unfortunately the exchange rate of AUD to USD is terrible at the moment so even the price of the doll is giving me pause.

 

GBP to USD is pretty bad too, and then there's import costs and it adds up pretty quickly. I love Jenice's clothes more than Jenice's sculpt, so now I just have to decide about Matias.

SartoriaJ really went all out for both Jenice and Matias' outfits.

 

Well, I went ahead and ordered S Jenice!!!! Usually I take forever to decide on a doll so I hope I don't regret this, but I'm very aware of the limited time she's available and I have been wanting a SartoriaJ girl for ages. I ordered her with the corset bust, which I feel like no one else has - anyone else here who has one? I want to dress her in historical styles and I feel like it would really suit that, I really like the look of it! And hopefully I have a wig, eyes and shoes that will fit her here, if not I guess I can order once she's tried them. But otherwise I got her pretty much exactly as in the photo, with the ivory skintone, C face-up and corset bust!

Also - anyone know what the wait time is like at the moment? I see they quote about 4 months but earlier in the thread people were saying it took up to 7?

 

I am currently coming up on 9 months for a Jude ordered at the end of April which was when their mass discontinuation sale happened.

I contacted Jay in early November and got this back.

So it might be a bit longer than normal which is unusual for the company and they're clearly trying to get the wait time down but I can't say what their tarot card dolls dispatch times are like. What I will say is that Jay was very apologetic and very nice about the whole thing.

 

Ordered Angela at the end of May and haven´t heard anything about her. Funny thing is I got Laura (SD) a month ago, and I had ordered her mid June. But the bottom line for me is, these dolls are really worth the wait.

 

They seem to mostly be having problems with the MSD sizes and the 71ATH. So the SD sized women and the 47Mintonette body are shipping sooner.

 

Ooh dear, that’s a long wait time indeed!!! Still, gives me something to look forward to. And I’ve waited a year before (pandemic disruptions) so it will hopefully be less than that at least!
