    1. It’s so prettyyyyy!!! :3

    2. I think I’ve decided to get Elf Edgar in Sonoran Biege…I can’t stop staring at that face and the NOSE!
My only hang up is the body hahaha
Zeus bod is hawt but might be a bit too much in comparison to the others in my collection. Decisions decisions!

      • x 3
    3. Perhaps the David body would be a good option. It's hawt but a little shorter than the Zeus body.

    4. While I'm trying to talk myself out of more elves..................I decided to play with what I have for a bit. I really love Elf Leo, but am so sad he isn't offered with the awesome elven robes outfit in the MSD size. If that outfit/or something similar would have been offerend in MSD size I would have definitely gotten him. Now, I'm trying to tell myself I don't really "need" another elf................I do love Leo's sculpt though. While I'm trying to make a final decision got one of my Elf Jude's out for some new photos.

    5. It would be nice if they offered outfits for the MSD dolls even if they were similar versions of the SD versions.

I ordered the 1/4 Isabelle and Aspen. I am still tempted by that dragon sword!

    6. I've moved away from the big dolls for space reasons, and as I get older they are harder to move around and redress for photos etc. It's the whole look I like about Leo though, so trying to figure out if have a look in mind of my own to give him if I were to go ahead and get the Mini version. Had they offered outfits for the mini's similar to what they did for the big dolls I would have definitely ordered him.

    7. @JinCIncy I have the same reasons for moving to the smaller dolls! I do have an MSD Leo on order with my David body.

    8. I did it y’all, I ordered!!! :D
      Now the wait begins…

      • x 4
    9. I finally hit the buy button on the MSD Elf Leo on the David body. I don't have a doll on the David body yet, and really wanted to try it, and I do really like that Elf Leo sculpt. I was afraid I would regret it later if I didn't hit the buy button.

    10. Yay! I'm so glad to see so many people are ordering elves! I did too, the Elf S Edgar in Sonoran Beige. I also ordered the David body, I'm very excited!

    11. Congratulations to everyone who ordered!!! Can't wait to see your dolls when they arrive!

    12. I’m really excited to see them all too! :D did anyone else order a faceup? I think the faceup looked so pretty I couldn’t resist.

    13. I almost always get Sartoria faceups! They are so well done and it's nice to have a doll be complete on arrival!

      • x 3
    14. Congratulations to all who ordered! As much as I wanted to……really really wanted to I’d have been getting one just for the sake of it and not because it’s what I truly had my heart set on. I shall wait for Joshua, maybe also Matias too as he is rather yummy.

      • x 3
    15. As much as I liked a couple of the elves, I had to pass. But I'd also love a Joshua - with the Musketeer faceup.

In the meantime, here's my newest arrival - Sarah...

    16. Hi - an update on the topic.
Even after the 3rd order and delivery from SartoriaJ, the promised spare parts - new elbow joints and tensioning rubbers - were not delivered. :...(
And also with the lovely La Poupée Finn that I received today there is a similar problem :-( When I pull the left hand out of her forearm to remove it, the hook with the rubber band gets stuck in your left forearm when I put it back in. It doesn't go back in completely, and so her left hand stays loose. It looks like a broken wrist.
In the future, I'll be avoiding small BJDs at SartoriaJ. Too many quality issues! Also with clothing.
      Sorry for the bad news.

      • x 2
    17. @JL_The_Lion what kind of quality issues have you found with the clothes?

    18. Simply too many - especially with clothes that are on sale. Incorrectly placed seams, poorly finished lace inserts, and loose fasteners when a "pearl" is held in place with an elastic loop. Or the elastic is poorly sewn, causing it to come loose and tear.
The last flop was the MSD Elf Naomi Full Set.
      Kiana's Birthday Hunt
You can do whatever you want with the attached skirt part - it doesn't fit well, it always pulls diagonally upwards to the left.
And according to the shop pictures, there should be a gold gather trim at the top of the shoulders. It's missing from the dress.
Sorry - I lost my trust in SartoriaJ.

    19. I checked my Finn and don't have a problem. I have experienced this with other dolls and usually the hook will go in if you hold the upper arm and pull on the lower arm.

    20. Thank you for the update, I forgot to ask them, but it seems it wouldn't make a difference since you haven't received yours and you have more orders with them and I don't :sweat
And, I can't help myself, here are some more pics of my Matias, I made him kinda resort vibes golden outfit.

I was looking at Sartoriaj fullsets, wanting to pick something nice to him, but now I have doubts, I should just try to improve my sewing skills more maybe...

    21. I think I've only ever received one outfit that I just really didn't like from SartoriaJ, and perhaps I'm just lucky but I've had no quality issues. My most recent outfits I bought on sale - Dark Dimension and Melisades. Both were just stunning in person. In particular the Dark Dimension set just blew me away with the details and fit. I have a few photos here:
Nessa Gal on Instagram: "OMG I think Geralt #sartoriajelfdominic is stealing this Dark Dimension set! He looks so amazing, the outfit is certainly a perfect fit on him! And TarMeena #jjdolllabhecena might just keep the Meliades outfit for herself....and sell you some Skooma while she is at it. #bjd #bjdmsd #bjdrpg #argonian #bjdelf #sartoriaj"

    22. I have to agree about the quality issues. I am very reluctant to orders clothes from them, especially shoes. A few times now outfit pieces were simply too tight, or very difficult to put on (sizewise). I have boots for the big girls which are impossible to put on, I ended up giving them to a girl with smaller feet. Which is all very annoying regarding the prices of these outfits and shoes.

      • x 2
    23. I haven't had any quality issues that I can remember. :abambi: But I'm not a seamstress...so maybe I don't know what to look for.

@skyealloway - the Dark Dimension set looks amazing on your boy! <3

    24. Hi - thanks for your feedback! I've bent the hook a little tighter, and now it doesn't snag as much. Before, I couldn't even turn her hand.
But my Finn still has a quality problem. The left femur joint is stuck in the pelvis.I waited four and a half months for Finn. And I didn't order a face-up. And then I get a “Monday production”.

    25. Thank you—a truly charming guy. But the beautiful golden outfit underlines his attractiveness <3

    26. I have had this issue changing hands across my BJD brands/dolls. It seems that the elastic gets hung up in the arm and if you gently hold the upper arm and pull down at the elbow joint it seems to readjust properly (at least that has been my experience). Like I said, I've had this happen across all different types of BJD brands, not just SJ. Hopefully that works as well for you.

    27. Thank you for the help <3 I bent the S-hook, reducing its diameter, and now the clamping problem is solved..I've been in the BJD hobby for 15 years now and have over 100 BJDs. I've only just started having these kinds of problems with SartoriaJ.

    28. Thanks for the information, and I'm sorry about these problems with the shoes. I've only had positive experiences with SartoriiaJ when it comes to shoes and wigs.
I've only noticed one thing that bothers me about high heels. In the SD size the heels are too soft - they do not support the weight of the doll and bend, which can cause the precious BJD to fall over and dirty clothes.

    29. Does anyone know how to contact SartoriaJ if needed? I reached out to ask a question to their PayPal email but haven’t heard back.

    30. I always use the Q&A on their website. They're usually pretty quick to respond.

      • x 1
    31. Hmm, I don't really know about them but I just know you have to check the measurements really carefully, as they have quite a different size foot to other MSD dolls! I just bought some SD girls shoes (off Aliexpress) that, surprisingly, fit the boy MSD dolls - sort of. They're actually too wide, but fit pretty well with socks on. Other than that, the Tonner Peter Pevensie/Athletic boots fit pretty well, so you could always search for shoes on Ebay.

The girls are also hard - they fit some shoes designed for Minifee okay though. It really depends! Sorry I don't have other ideas, hopefully someone else does! And congratulations on your new dolls!!! Which sculpts were you planning on getting?

    33. @MB Lilac These are awesome dresses! Thank you for the tutorial! I must dust off my sewing skills!

    34. You're very welcome!
When I was working on the pink and mauve gowns, I found some beautiful ombre satin brocade at Value Village, so decided to make another gown using the same pattern...something more regal, for a totally different look.

    35. All three gowns are so beautiful!!!

Now I'm very excited because I ordered both Vanessa AND Marie from the Versailles collection, and I can't wait until they arrive!!! I got them both with the corset bust, Marie on the Aph body and Vanessa on the Mintonette. I'm going to make them some Versailles style clothes too! I agonised over the decision for ages, as it's A LOT of money to spend at once, but I loved them both so much, and also sold some older dolls I didn't want (these days I just love the more realistic fashion style MSDs like Sartoriaj, so I'm not so into my older dolls anymore) - so in the end I did give in and get both! Now the long wait begins!!!!

    36. Thank you!

Congratulations on ordering the two dolls. I also love the more realistic fashion size MSDs. They are my favourite size. I was really tempted to order one of the Versailles ladies with a corset bust, but in the end decided that bust option would be too limiting for me. I decided that the Dew bust would work just as well for Rococo style costumes. So, in the end I passed on the new ladies and went for a gorgeous, previously owned Serena instead.

I've come to the decision that I seriously need to go back to just making doll costumes for the fun of it, and finally making some from the periods that I've always wanted to. After all that's what got me into BJDs in the first place. So, that's why I fell for Serena. She and my Sarah can become my models.

      • x 3
    37. Congratulations on your new Serena! And I know what you mean - I feel like this size is the one I've actually wanted my whole, 20 year BJD collecting time - but when I started collecting they didn't exist yet! And what I really wanted all that time was to make historical costumes for them, and finally I've actually started doing it - was never quite happy with the body shapes before, or the immature faces, or what I managed to make.

I know what you mean with the corset bust too - it certainly doesn't suit all eras! I figure, though, that I have all my other Raccoondolls and my one Sartoriaj lady with the bell bust for the other styles, and I really love how my Jenice with the corset bust looks in Tudor styles - (which I think is my favorite era for clothes) - I can think of enough eras that will work with that style that I wanted to go for it, as I just love the way they look!!! So I think I can do Tudor, Versailles/Rococo, Renaissance - all of which I love the styles of - maybe Regency? I don't think Victorian will work, which is a shame, but then I probably don't have quite the energy to make an outfit for each era for ALL my dolls, so I'm okay with some having more clothes than others!

Also one day I really should make an actual corset for my corset bust doll. :D

I'm really excited to see what you make now you're going to be doing more sewing for the fun of it, as you say! You must put so much effort into all your amazing photo stories, it must be hard to find time to do it all. I'll be excited to see what you do regardless of what it is!!!

    38. Yes, I've always preferred the more realistic dolls, and loved the ones Iplehouse offered, but I really wasn't into the large scale dolls. So it was like a gift when they finally released them in MSD size. I was in heaven, as they were the same size as all the OOAK art dolls I used to make with my sister. It was the size I was most comfortable making costumes for. And then came the even more gorgeous SJ dolls. So far everyone has pretty much ended up as Fantasy Medieval, however I've done a few costumes from other periods, and even a few contemporary ones.

My favourite periods have always been Tudor, Elizabethan, Musketeer, Elizabethan, and Victorian. I was starting to feel I'd never tackle any of the other periods because I'd 'need' to make an outfit for all my dolls. But why? I did the Phantom costumes just for the fun of it - and to take photos of - so why not other periods as well? Who cares if the dolls modelling them aren't 'official couples'? I'm getting too old to be stuck in a rut doing the same thing over and over, and there's still so many things I'd like to do, and I can't do them all at once. Time to get back to just making things because I want to, and using some of the fabrics I've collected over the years specifically for period outfits. Right now I'm working on the fourth gown from my new pattern, but who knows what comes after that?

In the meantime I've been enjoying photographing my dolls in their new gowns...

    39. Ooh what a glorious photo!!! Huh, if you photoshopped a unicorn horn on to the horse it would look even MORE fantasy princess - but they both look amazing just as they are!!!

Yes, I think I also got stuck in a rut with mine, thinking I had to make each era for all of them - but this is supposed to be fun, after all! If we just want to make one outfit (or a pair) for each era we like, then why not? Your Phantom costume was amazing, I can't wait to see what other things you might make!!!

    40. @morganatron - Thank you! I don't believe in photoshopping such important details. They never look believable in my opinion. I prefer using the real thing - if I have it. I have turned one of my smaller horses into a unicorn, and have considered doing it to one of my larger horses as well. It's just one of many things I've never gotten around to.

    41. Fair enough! I don't know how to photoshop anything, so you're ahead of me there! :D The horse looks lovely just as it is, anyway!

    45. Congratulations!!! Those outfits are amazing aren’t they! I’m sure he’ll be lovely even without it!

    46. @morganatron Thank you! I got him on the David-body, and now clothes are really becoming a problem. SartoriaJ´s clothing collection is not really to my taste. I used to buy from PABADoll on Etsy cause they made custom sizes, but their shop closed. Now I am at a loss where to get clothes for him :...(

    52. Anyone know what the general wait time ends up being for dolls ordered with faceup? Just curious ^.^

    53. I don't know if it's a 'general wait time', but I was surprised when my last doll, Sarah with faceup, took just two months.
