I was a very bad girl! I ordered both Evelyn and Natalie!

 

Oh thank you! Jude is a special sculpt. I have more than two! This one was a Halloween Special done in gray resin.

 

Ooh congratulations!!! They are both so gorgeous!!!

And in exciting news for me - my Emma arrived!!!! She is so gorgeous and I love her so much!!!

This picture really doesn't do her justice, but the light today is terrible, so there we are. The black dress doesn't really suit her and I hope I can get her a better wig, but she is just so lovely, I'm so glad I got her! Here's my SartoriaJ collection so far: Phillip, Emma and Jenice. Now to get sewing and make her a new outfit!!!

Edit: also I have FINALLY decided on names for them! Phillipe (original I know), Madrigal (Emma) and Magdalena (Jenice). Hurrah!

A couple of months ago I ordered 3 alpaca wigs for my girls. They arrived the other week and Lesley got a much needed upgrade!

I bought Lesley back in March off ebay. There weren't many pics of her on the listing and since she was in rosewater skin and had a very different company face up than the Lesley on SartoriaJ website I didn't have much to go on. I took the plunge and bought her anyway just cause I love SartoriaJ dolls so much, but when she arrived I was disappointed and regretted buying her. Well, the difference the right wig can make. This wig just transformed her and I'm so pleased she's in my collection!

Don't know if there's any star trek fans here but she kinda reminds me of 7 of 9.

 

@Loganberry She is lovely! May I ask where you ordered her wig? It is very nice!

 

Thanks! I got the wig from Zerga studio on etsy. She's recently changed the headcaps and they now fit this size much better. They are a bit more slippy tho so I'd advise a wig cap or some eye putty to hold it in place. The quality is excellent, definitely worth the price.

 

She looks so lovely!!! And I know what you mean - the right wig can make all the difference, and really change a doll's whole look - even to the point of deciding whether to keep them or not, you're right!!!

What skin tone did you get her in? I got my girl in peach cream but it looks like yours might be paler? I had great trouble deciding which to get, myself!

 

@morganatron She is rosewater. It´s a lovely color but I guess it will yellow rather quickly.

 

Agreed, I have my other girl in rosewater and I think it’s so nice! I sort of wish I’d got Emma in that, but I was worried she would look too pale with blonde hair. Anyway she’s nice in peach cream too.

I just got an email from SartoriaJ saying they are having another "ready to ship" sale - so there's dolls that they have extra, often discounted, that can be posted straight away, including some limited ones!!! Very exciting!!!

I was wondering if they would do another one of those sales this year, and was sort of hoping for another boy, since I'm still not entirely bonding with my Phillip, but the only boy available is also Phillip. Oh well. Otherwise, if I had unlimited money I would definitely be tempted by Jenice - I already have a Jenice, but I love her so much I'd love to have another?! I'll resist though! Anyone else going to give in to temptation?

 

@morganatron - Yes...tempted! I wouldn't think they would do another sale like this...this year...but you never know. Or at least maybe next year?

Sorry you aren't entirely bonding with your Phillip! Maybe you can change up a wig or adjust his eyes? Sometimes it just takes getting the right combination.

Your Phillip is gorgeous!!! I do wonder if the right wig will make him suddenly work for me, but I've bought SO MANY wigs and still he doesn't feel quite right, it's hard to know when to cut your losses?! I do have two more wigs on the way - which were actually intended for a girl doll but might work - so I guess I'll wait and see what I think once they arrive. nd maybe make different clothes for him. I don't know.

One thing I've found is that I feel his head is quite large compared to my Iplehouse FID and Raccoondolls - does anyone know if all the SartoriaJ male heads are the same size? Because I feel like my two SJ girls have slightly different size heads (Emma and Jenice) - so I'm wondering how the boys compare? Anyone own multiple SartoriaJ boys and can advise me?

 

Thank you so much for that!!! It's good to know about the head sizes, I keep wondering if a different boy would have a smaller head, but it seems not. And I agree with the female heads - my Emma is in similar scale to my Raccoondoll girls, but my Jenice is a bit bigger - but not so much that it bothers me, now I'm used to it.

 

Thank you, that makes sense. I mean, it's possible some of the dolls available might have a slightly different sized head, but unless someone owns all of them, it's hard to check!

I just asked SartoriaJ on Instagram if they planned on releasing the teen body for their 1/4 line and they said yes!

I am very excited about this. I'm really hoping they release a 1/4 teen Claire as I like her a lot, but at this point I'm pretty sure I'll like whatever they do!

Such a great news!! I was thinking of buying 59 Teen Claire, but I like more 1/4 scale, so I'll wait.

 

I will be so interested to see what a 1/4 teen version looks like.

 

SartoriaJ messaged me in the comments of the teen Claire post on Instagram and said they probably won't be releasing teen Claire in 1/4 size, which I'm pretty disappointed about. I asked if they will be releasing a teen head with the body but they haven't replied yet.

 

I juuust noticed that sartoriaj does not include eyes with some of the dolls(at least with msd matias that i ordered). So I have to pick a pair, I am wondering, what size of eyes looks best on their man dolls? On their website sell 10mm eyes with 4mm iris and 8mm eyes with 4mm iris. I have 8mm eyes in mind that I like, but I am afraid to get those, because on their website they have only one pair, would it be too small and I should aim for 10mm?
Also, I feel that maybe 3mm iris would actually look better than 4 but idk

 

@Fyrwenn - I have 8mm 3mm/iris in this Matias for your comparison. You probably could do a slightly larger eye. These were what I had on hand at the time and didn't bother to change them.

Now I just need to find some quality eyes of dark brown colour around this size...When I started i didn't expect this hobby would involve so much research But it is fun!

 

Anyone got any pics of Eleanor? I just found her second hand in my country and snapped her up! So, I'd love to see some pics of her and see the different ways she's been styled

 

I asked the same by email and Jay answer was:

"Unfortunately 1/4 Daphne body will be released with different head.
Teen Claire is just for 1/3 size."

I hope that if there are more people interested in Teen Claire they consider doing her.

 

First dollie pic in a long time! I changed my Demian's wavy wig for a straight one. While it has some poofing issues, I think he looks better than he did before.

I'm disappointed they are releasing teen Claire in this size but I'm excited to see who they do release!

 

Three vampire dolls have just been released for Halloween - Oscar, Benedict and Kate! Each come with a choice of a vampire head or regular head, or you can buy both heads! Also, Kate is on the 1/4 version of the Daphne body, so that answers the question of who will be released with it - she's very cute! And also there is limited Pale Moon (light grey I think?) skin!

I am so super excited about this and spent all day refreshing the sale page until all the choices were up (they come in SD size too) - and I've now bought Oscar with both heads in rosewater skin - yay!!!! I liked all three but he was the one who really spoke to me. I'll have to see what bodies might work for a hybrid (suggestions welcome?) but I'll wait until he arrives since I've once again overspent. I absolutely can't wait until he arrives except actually it will be months so I'll have to! I also got a custom face-up for the vampire head so he hopefully looks like a different character, and the Oscar face up for the human head - they are sooooo pretty!

Oh, and there's a 20% discount if you buy all three dolls (extra heads optional), which is certainly a tempting option!

So - anyone else tempted?!

 

I am safe, barely. I really like human Kate's face. She looks dolly but not sweet, which makes her more interesting, I would love to have her as some spoiled rich heiress character But, I am still in control on not overspending, and I am waiting for a doll from Sartoriaj already, so no new ones for now. Benedict and Oscar are very handsome too, I would love to see the looks doll owners will come up for them, there is a lot of potential to these sculpts to be stunning not only as vampires.

 

Luckily I'm not tempted by the new girl. Kinda disappointed that the teen head isn't a younger version of an already existing sculpt but since I'm waiting on Evelyn and I welcomed home Eleanor this week it's probably for the best!

Anyway Eleanor is now styled. She pinched the eyes meant for Evelyn and will have to give them back in a few months .

 

She's gorgeous!!! And they are indeed lovely eyes, I can see why she stole them!

 

And after a short wait I got my Matias
I will upload more pics, unboxing and a small review later when I have energy, but for now here is the face up close up.

Omg the eyebrows are everything here, photos doesn't do them justice lol And amber beige is such a lovely skintone I don't regret paying extra.
For the face up - colours do look less saturated than promo pictures and there is a bit less details, I guess the pictures are from SD Matias and they didn't translate everything to msd. And I wish they defined teeth a bit better, but its only noticeable if you shine direct light to his face like on my photo and look closely.
But that's my only critiques, I tried to find flaws to show expectation and reality. In person Matias look stunning and lifelike, I would recommend getting a face up from sartoriaj, even if not perfect like promo photos it is great.

 

@Fyrwenn I got the SD Matias and the teeth are not defined. The dark line under the top lip is softer but otherwise the face ups are similar. I will try to get a picture tomorrow.

Oh wow he is so handsome!!! And thanks so much for taking the comparison pic, that's so super useful to see - I had no idea Raccoondoll were so much taller?! And SartoriaJ are already very tall!!! Wow!!!

In other news - SartoriaJ have just added to the "Eternity" (vampire) sale - Freya is MSD has just also been released, and there are new bundles to check out now there's an extra doll! Also the outfits are amazing but only in SD size unfortunately.

 

@Fyrwenn oh. my. gosh! Matias is amazingly hot in amber beige! Congrats!

I also had no idea Raccoondoll mean were so much taller? I honestly thought SartoriaJ men were the most tall, they stand quite a bit taller than an FID man. Very useful to know!

 

Yeah Raccoondoll doll is taller and his legs are longer because of the knee joint. Also, he is amazing at posing, he can do things Matias can't dream of, like bending his arm and touching his chin Matias can't pose to save his life, but he is so hot so whatever

Oh and that's good to know for me, I didn't know FIDs are the shortest ones.
