Saran, my MTN Evelyn. To my neverending joy I discoverd that she can wear Souldoll Vito girl clothes. It´s a really good fit. I sold all my Vito girls long ago but held on to their clothes, now I am glad about that

That’s this month’s collection up, fabulous outfits but again for the 1/3 sizes only which kind of makes the supposed 1/4 pictures all a lie when you think about it.

Quite liking Elliot, the blank of that sculpt has a Henry Cavill edge to it, more flexible features….

I personally am not that enamoured by the other boys, the faceups they have make them look like arrogant entitled rich boys, the kind who cause trouble wherever they go because Mamma and Papa will clean up after them. Quite apt for that time period really I suppose. I think my love of Period Dramas has soured my opinions lol

 

OMG! I'm laughing at this because with one of the photos, of three of the guys together, I was thinking of that one game that compares three people. The one that starts with "Marry". (I'm not sure if I'm allowed to say the game's name on here.)
But, I was thinking, which these guys would my bjd choose if I asked them "M, F, K".

 

I second this. I got caught out by ordering a 1/4 Jade with the outfit until I realised what the SD meant. Luckily Jay deleted the clothes part of my order and amended my layaway. I would have liked the outfit but it would have been massive and my sewing skills are non-existent.

 

I third this and let’s be honest neither are the wigs or the accessories. It was during the Elves release that it dawned on me they were just using the same photos, I double checked and any hairs out of place, etc are identical……I mean technically it’s false advertising. At the very least it’s frustrating and disappointing as it’s not like there’s even many clothing or wig alternatives for that size on the website either and as they’re bigger than Iple and Raccoon trying to buy clothing elsewhere is practically a dead end especially fantasy or period outfits. Sorry for sounding ungrateful but as someone with no sewing skills who really wants to get one of their boys it’s one of the main factors that discourages me from pressing that ‘buy’ button

So funny! I wouldn’t let them choose Andre, he looks like a right sneaky little b…..d! Uses his quiet, shy boy appearance to lower defences and pretend he’s the good, respectable one then *bam* next thing you know you’re being shipped off to your estranged Aunt in the countryside for the remainder of your ‘confinement’ and he’s nowhere to be seen!

Actually I think that three look like they’re auditioning for some 1980s New Romantic tribute band called Durandau Ballet, Antoine is on keyboards and Louis is definitely lead vocalist so he can pout and flick his hair, Andre’s probably drummer.

 

Lol, I love the thought of them being in a band!!!

I keep thinking Antoine looks like Westley in the Princess Bride - especially with that hairdo!!! So he's probably my favourite! But thankfully for the sake of my bank account, I'm not tempted by any of them, they're all lovely but not really anyone I want. I'll just continue to look forward to my Marie and Vanessa from the Versailles release arriving! I was really looking forward to this release too - I LOVE those outfits - but it was a relief I didn't actually want to get any of them, as it's hard to resist when you do!

 

Elliot is the only one with a nice face up, imo. He reminds me alot of Jude though. His face up is the most natural of all, the others look like they have paint on their faces, which generates the bitchy look The hair does the rest for them

I wonder if Jay has completely given up on MSD clothing. Since he offers all his dolls now in MSD size he must have realized people want them. So why are no clothes for them? Maybe it´s too expensive. I really would have loved the Gemini priest clothes in MSD size.

@morganatron oh yeah, you’re right, he does look a bit like him.

I did think that about Elliot too initially @Ashemanu, his chin is less angular and to my eyes he’s like a slightly softer version.
Really tempted.

 

I think Eliot looks like Jude too, which is probably why I'm so drawn to him! I keep taking him in and out of my cart..................I'm already paying on layaways for MSD Elf Leo and MSD Vanessa, so do I really need another doll?????????? No, but I sure would like to have him, lol.

 

Ha, I keep pondering Iplehouse Rex because he looks like Jude!!! We all just want Jude back!

Ooh really was it that fast?! I hope they keep up that trend! I ordered Marie and Vanessa two months ago - maybe they will be here sooner than I think? I hope so!!!

 

Stella has arrived. I ordered her with a custom face up. The photo is dark cause I wanted to try and capture her colour. This still isn't quite there but it's close.

@Loganberry It´s wonderful to see a Stella with a different face up. She is lovely! Yeah, capturing that color ... that´s a challenge for sure!

 

I woke up to a notification this morning that my elf Edgar with faceup has shipped!!!!

 

Congratulations!!! That’s very exciting!!!!

They haven’t announced which size they are yet, but I’m REALLY hoping they fit in with the 1/4 size dolls! Maybe they might release them in two sizes to fit with the SD or the MSD?

EDIT: there’s a notice up about them now and they’re 30cm dolls - so that would be in scale with 1/3 by the look of it.
But on the upside, there will be new 1/4 dolls this month and next, including mermaids!!!

Indeed!!! And free shipping until the end of august, limited summer theme dolls, including mermaids and a pirate?! I can’t wait to see what they’re like!!!

 

So very tempted by alot of this! MSD Laura, MSD Stella, the bathing suits, some wigs, and one of the little ones ... urgh. But I guess I will have to restrain myself til the new molds will come out at August 1th, cause unfortunately I don´t have any pirate treasure to pay for all of it

 

Oh no. Just as I was beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel Jay does this to me! I want ALL the little ones. My collection is mostly 1/6 sized children and the adults (JIDS etc) are only there to keep an eye on the little ‘uns. I shall have to do some very careful budgeting.

 

The bathing suits are so cute!!! I also want to wait and see what the August releases are like though - I do love a pirate! So far, I'm not so tempted by the dolls (although I am tempted to dress my existing dolls up retro style, it looks so good!), but I have asked in Q&A if they might eventually release the MIO30 to be in scale with the MSD too - if I could get them in a "shrunk down" size, THEN I would be super tempted!!!

Ha, it's certainly a month of exciting new releases - if only we could all afford them all?!

 

I'm weak and my brain doesn't understand concept of delayed gratification I was like, only one more male doll gonna appear in this summer sale, and it's a pirate, so it's probably not up my alley. I blew my doll budget on metis doll again cause Orlando looks so ethereal and beautiful No doll money, the rest of the sale I'll just watch and be happy for you.

I'd prob have a stroke if this pirate is literal copy of Jude or tarot Daniel in a pirate hat But the chance is low, I think I'd be safe.

 

AHHHH my Elf Edgar is here! Holy crap he is stunning!!!! I am super impressed with his quality and the painting is…WOW. I’ll be taking pics on my Instagram (same handle name) if anybody wants to see since I’m a dinosaur and don’t know how to do DOA pics! LOL

Wow, Dominic is so amazing!!! I love his purple outfit so much, and how wise and mature he looks!

In other news - Jay replied on the Q&A and said they would consider doing the MIO dolls to fit in with the MSD dolls as well, but it really depends if they can find high quality supplies - wigs, eyes, s-hooks, elastic, etc - in that size, to make it possible. So, fingers crossed they can do that in the future!!!

@Ashemanu - Thank you! Yes, this Evelyn I love with the pale tones...I have another but in SD size that is Peach Cream and wears a vibrant red wig. It's fun to have variety even in the same sculpt.

Thoughts on the new pirates anyone?

They’re released on the 14th and the 18th apparently, so still a bit of a wait!

 

The story and the theme is fun. And both boys are very handsome. But I wish that they had put everyone up at the same time. It would be nice to get a sense of everyone together.

Also, I just noticed that only the 1/3 boys are up.

 

Ah what? Dang it

 

The little guys are up now! I'm still going to wait to see everyone before making any decisions.

 

I asked about Margot and the Athletic body being released in 1/4 scale, and Jay said that there are currently no plans to release her in 1/4 scale. I guess I'm just waiting on Marina now before making any decisions!

I asked and Marina will be released. in both 1/3 and 1/4 versions.

 

I wasn’t expecting Ayla, but I really love her! Her face is so soft and pretty…
