    1. @Ashemanu thank you for posting that :love
Shes beautiful, I love the outfit and it makes happy the necklace is also for sale!

I agree, faceup B is my favorite too, the freshest but also mature, love the way they painted the lips on that makeup.
I do love the new faceup too, she looks so young in it!

@Quiet and Insane thigh joints as in the mobility joints that the iplehouse dolls come with? I agree, that would be amazing
Ive never gotten a doll without it because I appreciate the movement it adds, there was a comparison I saw somewhere but I forgot but the extra cost of having it is worth it from what I saw

I have to agree with @Bren , I have a doll with a three part torso and the hip joint annoyed me because it didnt do much for posing and made it less stable so I superglued it lol............it eventually broke loose again, but it was nice and stable while the superglue lasted

Theres also an interview on BJD Collectasy that I found interesting

      ~Dolls by Sartoria J~

Ill post the highlights but its a pleasant and short interview with interesting points

They will migrate slowly from etsy to selling exclusively only on their website
Its run by two friends Jay and Donatella (I always thought it was a much bigger team!)
They will be releasing an 8-9 head every 2 months
Heads will not be sold alone after the body release, and all the heads are limited

I hope we will see something with a snob look like Douglas and Kamau (obsessed much?? lol)

    2. @GreenTeaSlug Thanks for all that info! A head every two months? Oh my ... thatยดs very bad news ^^ I guess I need a money tree and a castle (for room) then ;)

    3. @GreenTeaSlug - Yes, but a little more useful, like the ones from Ringdoll or the older DollZone bodies. Those guys can sit in the lotus position in jeans. :D My SID has thigh joints, though I've not used them actively.

    4. Thanks @Ashemanu for the link

      @GreenTeaSlug

Thanks for all the great info as well. I love to come on and see what goodies you will share next. Cleopatra is the face up for me.
I really hope that they give us the choice of a joint on the leg or not. I personally find them distracting from the beauty of the legs. But I think I'm in the minority.

I recall that when we were trying to figure out who Yvonne reminded us of, I immediately said Stella and I believe someone said that Stella had teeth while Yvonne didn't.

I thought I saw a hint of teeth on a previous face up B but for sure with the new one you can totally see it. I just found that to be interesting and thought I would share it.

      Close up.

    5. I'm trying to figure out what resin color I like for her. Is the Mirror Queen Warm Ivory? The Cleopatra Amber Beige? And Parisienne the Peach Cream? That's what it looks like on my computer.

    6. I'm not sure about the Parisienne but yes, Mirror Queen looks to be Warm Ivory and the Cleopatra Amber Beige.

    7. @Cherylsdolls I asked on IG and they told me shes actually amber beige (tan skin) and you are right about the others :)

@Bren That is very interesting and a great find!
I love teeth on dolls, even if they are done subtly
I really love how they paint lips, its so pretty to look at
So excited to see your Yvonne and I hope shes going to be photographer with her Ancient Egypt friends

Theres only 3 more days in her ordering period but I love how we get all these options and different looks for Yvonne

Next doll should be revealed in May and Im very curious to see if its going to be a male or female, Im guessing female because Ive seen more activity here and IG since her reveal, she seems the popular of the two

    8. Heh, more female dolls means my money is safe (for the moment) so I'm happy with that.

    9. Oh wow! That is a lovely face up. Thanks for the link. I'm glad you still like faceup B (even if only slightly more). I really love the eyebrows on Parisienne a lot. Fortunately I think I still prefer the faceup B I already bought *whew*... but it's a really really close call.

@GreenTeaSlug Thanks for the interview link for Sartoriaj :thumbup. Oh wow a new head every 2 months... that's great! Well, not great for my wallet but great in general, lol. @Ashemanu is right... the need for a money tree will be necessary, lol. :chomp:.

@Bren *whew* I thought I saw teeth in there too... yay . I personally don't like open mouth dolls unless they have some teeth showing.

    10. @Cherylsdolls, @GreenTeaSlug , @Bren Thanks for the discussion on the resin colours. I bit the bullet and ordered an Yvonne. I've been back to the SartoriaJ website countless times to figure out which version of her to order. In the end I chose Mirror Queen faceup B, but in Amber Beige. I'm hoping I made the right choice. I love her in warm ivory, but really wanted a tan colour. I threw caution to the wind and am hoping for great results.

    11. I ordered the Parisienne in the amber beige. I just liked the eyebrows on that face up the best. Went back and forth on whether to just order the head blank but I do like the Zakozako face up a lot. I love how that artist does their freckled face ups, I hope in the future they have that as an option on for a head.

    12. @ She is awesome :) Is that a custom face up? You got her really fast, it seems :)

    13. Thanks so much! She has a custom faceup by SDink...and that's how I got her.

    14. @luluna she is amazing! I took a look at your flickr account and I love what you have done with her
I specially love that photo of her in the blonde with the red roses in her hair, she looks so amazing!

Is she on the HID body for your photo? Im assuming since I have a feeling you like that body of the Iple female dolls most lol

I wonder who was able to get SDInk's Jude? He looked so handsome, like a real version of the Prince from Beauty and the Beast Disney cartoon movie

      @Cherylsdolls Congratulations!
I was hoping one of us would get that head, because I love how very glamorous and mature she looks in it, very subtle with a strong impact I feel

@Bluenocs I think faceup B with the tan skin will look amazing!
Do you have an idea on which body she will be using when you get her?

Im not sure if you own an Iplehouse real skin, but its my favorite of the tans because of how realistic it looks
I only saw a few other tans and they looked a bit spray tan or strong green undertones, Iplehouse tan has it just right

    15. I was the lucky one who got Jude painted by SDink. So far he just has eyes and wig, waiting for a body.[IMG]Jude by C. Pemberton, on Flickr

    16. @GreenTeaSlug I am just starting my foray into bjd's so unfortunately I don't have a body for her yet. I did order the amber beige with the idea of saving up to get an Iplehouse real skin body for her eventually. I just couldn't pass up her face with that bone structure! I really like the realistic sculpts. Your comments on Iplehouse real skin makes me feel a little more comfortable with the plan I have in mind. I'm not used to buying dolls that are 'sight unseen' per say, so this is a whole new adventure for me.

@luluna I just took a peek through your flickr account. Gorgeous!

    17. @Cherylsdolls Woah, he looks stunning. Grats to that beauty!

    18. @luluna @Cherylsdolls: Wow, the SDink faceups are gorgeous as always! Congrats to both of you, and hope to see more of them!

    19. @GreenTeaSlug - Thank you so much for the kind words! The photos of her in the green/blue dress are on the HID body and the photo with a black top is on a SID body. She looks fine on both...but I like her on the HID best at present.

@Cherylsdolls - Congrats on getting the Jude by Cheryl. He is gorgeous! I was wondering who he went to. I hope you are able to get a body for him soon so we can see more of him.

@Bluenocs - Thank you so much! And I believe you will be happy with RS resin. I have several (many) dolls with it and one of the first Akandosoriginal batch that did not have the protections they use in them now and so far (knock on wood) he is doing just fine.

@Sianserais - Thank you! I feel very fortunate to have been able to get her.

And since I'm here I've edited another photo with the red roses in her hair...and the green eyes.

    21. @Cherylsdolls Congrats on your order! The eyebrows on Parisienne are my favorite of the offerings available. Oh wow, your Jude looks incredible!

@Bluenocs Congratulations on ordering Yvonne :) I hope the resin choice works out perfectly for you :thumbup.

@luluna WOW! Yvonne is gorgeous! Beautiful face up too . Thanks for sharing her. I'm still patiently waiting for mine to ship.

    22. Hmm.. Did anyone who order Yvonne in February got her already? How long takes heads production?

    23. I ordered 18th Feb but no sign as yet, I am hoping for a couple of months but suppose it depends how many were ordered.

      • x 1
    24. I also ordered in February, and so far am still on "pending".

    25. Im not sure any have shipped yet ?

I know that clothing takes time to make since they are made to order rather than readily available, so I guess those who ordered blank Yvonne's without clothing in the order should be getting them first

The faceups were all very beautiful, and the clothing sets were amazing so I doubt many have ordered them blank without any of the clothing sets........

Last I spoke with them, I was told that Yvonne's sales were a lot more popular than Jude!
Even people I followed, who are not into the realistic doll look have ordered Yvonne

      • x 1
    26. My Jude heads arroved about two months after the end of the order period. I ordered faceups and accessories.

      • x 1
    27. Nope mine has not shipped yet either. I ordered on Feb 15th with a faceup but no clothes and no accessories. Iโ€™m not surprised at the wait though, as most smaller companies can take 2 to 3 months on average. Even more so if the sculpt is popular like Yvonne was :).

@GreenTeaSlug Iโ€™m glad to hear Yvonne was so popular during her release period :). Her sculpt, face ups, and clothes are so fabulous... SartoriaJ really did an outstanding job. Iโ€™m hopeful for a second release of Jude in the future someday as I missed out on getting him.

    28. I ordered mine blank without any clothing or extras. Am really looking forward to her arrival.

    30. oh, it's good news! I ordered in 15th of Feb too, so I'm waiting update my order status :D

    31. Great, I was 18th Feb so hopefully not too long.

    32. @PennyDes congratulations :D

Korean shipping is always very reliable and fast, so the wait isnt going to be too long for you, Im very excited on your behalf <3

If I remember correctly, your Isabel is peach gold, and you ordered the B type makeup for your Yvonne? I think thats going to be a beautiful combination

Dont worry, Jude will be coming out again in the future if I remember correctly, but I think he will be a full doll instead of head only. We will be seeing head only sales until the body becomes available, and from what I understand, there will be no more head only sales after the body debuts. Im actually really excited for the bodies to come out if its as beautiful as the heads are!

      To get some conversation going,

I noticed many have shifted from the bigger dolls to owning FID dolls because of the lower cost and extra spaces. Iplehouse, Dollshe, Granado, Soom, RaccoonDoll and Dollmore all have fashion scale dolls. I had a conversation with one of my friends, and he wants me to ask SartoriaJ to consider making Fashion sized dolls. Im getting way ahead of myself, but its something Im interesting in knowing your thoughts on :)

What do you think? Do you prefer one scale over the other?

My preference is the bigger dolls, but I notice many have been shifting towards the 1/4 scale.

I wasnt tempted by that size in the slightest because I dont like how clothes look in that scale when compared to the bigger dolls. The more I talked with my friend, the more tempting the fashion size became; essentially, the fashion scale is to me, like a gameboy. The consoles attached to the TV's are more fun, but the gameboy is just as fun, except, its are more travel friendly. So I ordered my first FID, the beautiful Doria to see just how different it really is (and because Im a sucker for Doria's face)

    33. I generally like the bigger dolls because of they seem to have more range of expression due to better eye and wig choices. But...the Fashion size are fun...and I've managed to accumulate several. LOL

      • x 1
    34. I bought some of the fashion size thinking of moving that direction but I have sold several and now have only two as I just don't really like the clothes on the smaller ones, think for me I find it much easier and more satisfying in a way to sew/knit in a bigger scale. I do love my Doria and though the smaller one looks good she just doesn't have the 'pull' of the larger one.

    35. @PennyDes Grats, I am so excited to see owner pictures of her :D

@GreenTeaSlug I always loved the big dolls, especially the EID men and 65cm girls of several company. I never liked MSDs that much. But with advancing age comes less ability to handle an EID or IDealian easily. Also the available space in my flat really has hit its limit - I sometimes hear my appartement looks like a doll museum.
So I experimentally ordered my FID Ron and Lahela. And I have to say I love them both. The size is really perfect. They look good, they are easy to handle, they are not so expensive and they take only a fraction of the space the others do. I didnยดt buy the new EID Leon - even if I totally adore him - cause I hope he will be released as FID someday. Clothing is a problem of course, especially for a person who sews only with two left hands. I really hope more people will make more clothes for them in the future. So, FID it is for me!

      • x 1
    36. If it true it is really sad. I hope they will leave the opportunity to buy heads only. I like that I can buy it separately, because I don't have so many money for shoping full doll after full doll, and not forever your character have that body build, which the company has

    37. While I can see the appeal the fashion-size dolls have for people, I do find them frustrating to clothe/wig/eye etc. I do have one fashion size doll and I'm certainly not going to be selling him, but at the same time I'm also certainly not going to be buying more. I just love my big boys far too much, they're so much easier to handle even if they weigh a tonne.

      • x 1
    38. My experience with various sizes is that I still prefer my 1/3-scale dolls over anything else. Basically everything except posing seems to be harder to do with the fashion size - including changing hands/restringing them. (Ever stabbed your finger on a tiny S-hook?) I only got into them because I wanted to support CreatureDoll's lovely fantasy designs (and now they're gone). I do actually have plans to get a couple more FIDs as companions to what I already have, but those are already decided on, and I don't have room for more than that on my bookshelves. So if Sartoria J does go into that size, I'll just enjoy them vicariously through others. ^_^

Oh, and did I mention I caved and got Yvonne at the last second with the final faceup? (And I just realized I never put her in my signature.) Hope to see pics of what you all do with yours!

      • x 1
    39. My Yvonne has also shipped today! I forgot I bought her through etsy and I use a different email address for there so I hadn't noticed it until just now, she has the dramatic face-up with the red lips, I am a bit of a sucker for them.

      • x 1
    40. I haven't gotten my shipping notice yet but I am looking forward to seeing the head on various bodies so I can choose a body for my head!

Did everyone get the notice about the free shipping event?

    41. Congrats! I still have nothing...

    42. Excited for those folks whose Yvonne's are shipping! But as of today, mine's still on "pending".

Regarding the fashion size dolls - I've tried different sizes, but it seems that for me, bigger dolls are my preference (although I certainly do admire the little ones).

I wrote Jay that I hope he will consider offering separate heads and bodies, as well as full dolls. He wrote back that he had not yet come to a final decision, but would keep this under consideration. My suggestion is for folks who share my interest in separate heads / bodies, write Jay and let him know. The more folks he hears from regarding this, the more likely it is he (might) actually offer this option in his lineup.

    43. I have an Amber Beige Yvonne coming and was told it would be about two weeks for her to ship. (I got this info because I was missing an item in another order and they wanted to send it along with the head order. Which was totally ok with.)

      • x 2
    44. I have a Jude head in amber beige. Do you think it can fit on a Luts Senior 65 delf body ?
I would love to find a body for my Jude. Iplehouse SID would be perfect but I don't find any.

    45. @Pathy Since you got the amber beige skin, Luts brown looks like a decent match, but not exact. Luts brown has more olive tones (similar to Granado Tan)

      Not my photo
      Head Iplehouse real skin
Body Granado tan with Luts Brown hands
You can see the skin color match
      DSC_8094

I checked the measurements and compared and I think the head will look too big, the ratio of the face / shoulders and neck length will look very different

I feel if you use the Jude head on that body, it will look like this most likely (FID head on Model Delf head) similar proportions to SID head and Senior Delf 65 body
      IMD MDF 1
      Not my photo either

If you do get it, I think you will need to use 1 or 2 neck discs to make it look longer and it will look good enough, maybe a jacket to bulk up the shoulders to make the ratio nicer too

    46. Oh thank you very much ! Well I think I have to be patient and find an Iplehouse Sid in realskin.

    47. My Yvonne is already in the UK, she was in and out of customs in 2 minutes so I hope that means no charges.

      • x 2
    48. Mine is still pending, altrough I ordered without make-up and any options. All doll companies do that with me, where I should find the patience :|

Posting a quick picture of Yvonne in Peach gold on iplehouse SIDw original body with faceup B. The color match is dead on! Personally I think she would look best with an EIDw body but for now she looks very nice on SIDw. I am thinking dark eyes will look best on her. I will try to get a better photo of her in the next few days.

@avrilpaeony Congrats on Yvonne shipping and getting through customs:) yay! Looking forward to the daring red lip look.

@jack_sea Oh, bummer it is still pending :( I hope she ships soon.

      @Ashemanu @GreenTeaSlug @jack_sea Thank you :)

@Sianserais Congratulations on your last minute order! yay!
Oh my yes... I have actually hurt my finger with those tiny s-hooks, lol.

@GreenTeaSlug I did get Peach Cream and face up B and you are very correct in saying it will be a beautiful combination :). I couldn't be more pleased with the outcome. She also has shimmer all over her face which is a nice touch i didn't expect. Makes the face up look radiant. She Goes well on the SID body too but i think she would look her best on EID.

In regards to 1/3rd vs 1/4th size I favor the 1/3rd size dolls. I wish i didn't though because of how much more expensive they are and they take up more room. I agree that the wigs and clothes have a nicer overall fit with the larger dolls and more detail can be achieved. Also, the larger dolls have more room for nuances in their face sculpts and they seem to have more of a "soul" sculpted into them. Many of the smaller FID dolls loose those nuances when they are reduced in size. Very few seem to translate into the smaller size with the same impact as the larger dolls. Although I plan on getting a few of my favorite dolls as mini versions someday, they will never replace their larger counterparts.

    51. @PennyDes - She is lovely! I love the color of her lips.

And I agree about the larger body. I have mine on a HID.

    52. @PennyDes - Oo, very lovely! So she's similar to Carina in head-size as well as face, huh? That's good news for me, since I'm thinking she's going to be a modern version for one of mine. I forget if you said if you have specific plans for yours?

    53. @PennyDes Thanks for the picture and grats to your girl! She Looks great! But you are right about the dark eyes, it will suit her better, I think. I really love the hairstyle on her.

    54. @Sianserais - I took photos of Yvonne with a Carina, by chance...when I'm home I'll post it. They are similar in size.

As promised here is a better photo of Yvonne. This time with dark eyes. Originally I thought she looks like a cross between Carina and Stella but now that I have her in hand something about her also reminds me of Iplehouse Pamela. Anyone else see that too?

@Ashemanu Thank you :) I've tried several wigs on her and the Monique gold "Paris" is my favorite so far.

@Sianserais Thank you :) Yes, Yvonne and Carina are very similar in size although Yvonne has a more narrow jawline in comparison. Yvonne could definitely pass as an older more mature version of Carina. What size body will your Yvonne be on? No I don't have any specific plans for Yvonne yet but thank you for asking. Perhaps once i have her look more nailed down.

@luluna Thank you :) Your Yvonne looks great on the HID body. I'm still torn between EID and HID for mine in the future.

      @nancy_schroeder_ca You're welcome :)
