    1. He's here. He's great. The leg elastic is crisscrossed and a bit loose. Are people changing the elastic? He's a good poser. The old Zakary head is slightly bigger. I decided to keep him as his older brother. Need a new name though.

    2. @Mahgiep

      On my Jude his elastic is strung so that his leg elastic is not strung up through his torso...it just goes from one leg to the other. So when I pick him up...his legs dangle a bit and I have to make sure I reset him down correctly so he won't bend over.

      On the plus side...this way of stringing elastic makes him good at sitting upright.

    3. I think this stringing is used more to eliminate the string channel at the front of the leg. I haven't decided if I really like it. My Jude arrived and I need to choose somw eyes for him!

    4. Okay. If anyone restrings their boy differently, I'd love to know the results. Meanwhile I can easily live with it since he stands and slouches nicely!

    5. @nancy_schroeder_ca - Oh that makes sense...I too...am deciding if I like the way he is strung. I need to take more photos of him and test him out some more before I decide.

      @Mahgiep - I'm with you....I'd love to know the results of stringing him differently...see how it works.

      He is lovely, I must say. :)

    6. @luluna

      well, hee, hee. You could be a pioneer or adventurer and try it, just saying my friend. :evilplot: :mwahaha:sneaky

    7. I asked Jay for a tutorial with tips for how the elbows work best. Soon.
      I'm happy with both of my Zakary beasts. I did an add on (facial hair and new Niangao eyes) for the old head on IH EiD body so he can be the older brother, a doctor. So I feel like I have 2 new dolls!

    10. Ha ha! Well maybe if I'm feeling ambitious and have nothing better to do....:ablah:

      @Mahgiep - Love the Zaks!

    11. Im sure most of us saw him already, but ill just post him here because I think he looks really good with this outfit and styling

      Limited JOSHUA (71 ATH POSE)

      @Frillseeker could you post a link of the pants that you got that didnt fit? Is it leather?

      I have some leather sets from other companies and Sartoria J and found they are usually really tight, so they look skin tight on dolls but that usually means they cant sit while wearing it. I find it difficult to dress dolls in leather pants, but I usually use this trick and it makes it a lot more easier. I use a heating pad lol

      I put the pants or catsuit on the pad, and fold it over. I keep it there for about 15 or so minutes, once I find the pants a bit more pliable I dress them up in it. It usually works, but not always. Another trick is that I take off their feet and use one of those pegs that are used for changing hands. I know Dollshe has them, so does Fifth Motif, Sartoria J dolls also get those pegs included and I just find them so useful for all my dolls XD

      @StrontiumDog You probably got your answer already, but ill post it just in case someone else was wondering. The parts are available, when the doll becomes available. For example, Serena is available to order; the woman hands, feet, legs, corset bust etc would become available too, but not the man optional parts; just the parts that are compatible with the current doll being offered. Jarrad becomes available - male optional parts are available to order too. Once their order period ends, the parts ordering period ends too :) They are all marked as sold out because the dolls offered that time was the 51 sized dolls. I know some may not like it, but personally, I like made to order parts..
      from a different company; I once ordered a doll that was made to order, but they included the optional hands from the batch they already made. It wasnt even close in skin matching, the parts I would guess were atleast a year old because there was no pink pigment in it. They were kind enough to make new parts, and let me keep the old parts but it made me request companies make the parts from the same resin batch from then on, if possible.

      @Mahgiep They look amazing together! They really did scale down the head, there is an obvious head size difference between the two, but it works in your favor because now they arent "identical". I also love the hair you gave the older brother, it does make him look sophisticated and mature :)

    12. Thanks @GreenTeaSlug. So glad both heads work as brothers. All my heads look great in this faux fur wig. I originally got it for Kris Wu. I trimmed it based on a photo of the real Wu Yifan. Models and dancers are a great inspiration for styling for me. But to warn you, I'm always changing wigs so Heo Jun the elder will probably be sporting a different wig the next time you see him.

    13. @GreenTeaSlug - thank you...it does make perfect sense, but it just did not occur to me in the slightest!:lol:
      Excellent point about ordering at the same time so as to get the same resin for the extra parts.

    14. @GreenTeaSlug
      I would gladly post a picture of the trousers, except that I have taken them off. There is no way I can stuff him into them again. They are not leather. I’m just going to make him another pair of pants, and use the pleather ones on girls.

      Now for the big question: He is so loosely strung he can’t stand. Some of you are reporting that your doll stands. Is my loose stringing normal? How does Sartoriaj get their dolls to pose if the legs are practically dangling?

      I know this was discussed above, but my doll barely holds together. He’s so beautiful he’s worth fighting for!

    15. I would tighten the elastic.
      My guy's legs are dangly when I lift him by upper torso but he stands better than a lot of my dolls.

    16. @Mahgiep
      It is so encouraging to hear that!

      But how do I do tighten his leg strings? There don’t seem to be any tutorials on this. Should I climb into my attic and get the manual Sartoriaj sent? Would love any and all advice. Thanks!

    17. The biggest hurdle is finding where the knots are and yeah definitely get out the manual. If you can find the knot(s) you can retie them shorter and if you're brave cut the ends shorter. I inevitably have to restring the whole body (in this case the lower half) so prepare beforehand as much as you can. I do a mental review of steps before I start in. You may want to take advantage of restringing in a more typical manner (uncrossed hips and from leg to head opening) if he falls into pieces. I'm considering doing that.

      • x 2
    18. I find that restringing is easier then trying to tighten the elastic. The knot is probably in the thigh of one of the legs. I would take one foot off and put a piece of thin grosgrain ribbon thru the elastic. Then you can gently let the elastic up the leg. Place the leg pieces on a safe place in the order they came off. It makes it easier to reassemble!

      But you will not be able to get the "flop" out of the hips with this style of stringing. If you can hold him up by his waist on his back and the legs stay straight, he is probably tight enough. When you sett him on his feet, the design of the hip joint will make it stable.

    19. Thanks for the heads up guys about the issue that may come up with how the legs are restrung. I can't say that I will look forward to having to do one or the other. Restringing or retightening. I hurt my hand so can't do much with it at the moment. I don't have my guy yet, which I guess it's good, but if anybody does the conventional restringing from head to leg, let us know how that works for you. Cause as @nancy_schroeder_ca stated, it seems that just tightening the legs will not solved the loose hips factor.

    20. I don't think tightening the elastic in the legs will make a difference as if he is strung like mine the elastic does not go up into the torso. (Unless yours is just really loose.) The legs on mine dangle if I hold him...but I can set him down and set his legs where they hold him up. Fiddle with his hip/thigh joints and they set.

      If you totally want to get rid of the dangly legs...you would have to restring the entire body or at least run the leg elastic up through the torso and through the neck.

    21. @luluna,
      The legs are falling out of the sockets. I will definitely work with the hip joints, but at some point will post pics here so you can analyze. I don’t have time to perfect him right now, and am totally a novice with this problem.

      @Bren
      Oooh, May your hand heal quickly.

      @nancy_schroeder_ca
      Will work on it, I dread the idea of restringing just now, but may have to. It’s probably something you more experienced owners would solve quickly.

      @Mahgiep
      Yes, taking your advice to ❤️, Those legs are too loose, pictures are needed.

      Thanks all, will definitely be following up on this.

    22. Thank you. It's getting better.

    23. Hi all. I was wondering if anyone had purchased any items during SartoriaJ's last of stock sale? And if so, has your order shipped out?

    24. My Jarrad arrived yesterday

      Here are my blurry iPhone photos.

      I really love the quality of the clothes however I had the same issue as someone else where the pants are too small. It took me quit a while and having protective leggings underneath didn't make it much easier. I think they are too tight around the calves? I cannot pull his pants up all the way so they are sitting right above his bum :nowords:

      His legs legs were a little loose too but he does feel very sturdy when standing.

      Overall I am quite happy with him! :daisy

    26. Thank you!! It’s funny cuz I bought the eyes off of Etsy and I think they sent me the wrong color but they worked out!:daisy

    36. Everyone's dolls are looking wonderful! :D

    37. I wondered. I have Yvonne too, with a SartoriaJ faceup. Yours is beautiful.

    38. Luthien is up and I am floored! She is STUNNING!!! :D<3

    39. I like her too. Very unusual face with the very full lips. Also like the face up on the human version. Guess I am very tempted right now :D

      • x 1
    40. I am...not too sure about her. She looks a little too duck-faced for my liking. The elven version is a little more bearable than the human, but perhaps it's the face up itself. I do adore her ears though.

      • x 1
    41. When I saw the blank face thought it was a male doll, very surprised to see a female face-up.

    42. Her earrings are lovely. I wonder how they attach

    43. They are pierced earrings. On the option for the earrings you can choose just the earrings or earrings + piercing.

    44. Why would they sell the earrings separately from the piercing if you can only use them with the piercing?

      I like her outfit and her face blank but I think I would choose custom faceup, the A and B options don't appeal to me. I like her blank thou.

    45. It's easy to provide an option to not do the piercing and some people might prefer to do it themselves.

    46. She is absolutely gorgeous !! I am continually blown away by the sculpts from them !!
      Out of curiosity has anyone tried an EID male (I heave a Leonard head) or Idealian male head on the new SarJ body ?
      Since Soom no longer makes ID72 bodies I am hoping this similar size body will work :)
      Anyone else excited to see what Xmas time may bring ? a big sale or maybe all the sculpts for sale again ? hehe
      YES I am thinking way ahead lol

    47. @Quiet and Insane
      I agree with you about the Lothien sculpt - the lips are too much. Also agree with your assessment of the elven faceup. It’s much more sophisticated, and worth remembering when I do get a sculpt I like.

      I am about to fall off the money cliff and get a Dollmore 68 cm beauty w sleepy eyes. I’ve already got my birthday and Christmas presents three years in advance. There’s no anniversary coming up . I guess I’ll just have to get her because tomorrow is Monday.

      Don’t anybody try to stop me. Love to all you doll crazies ❤️❤️❤️

    48. Well debt be my friend because I just ordered Elf Luthien at the last moment. I am not a big fan of the regular Luthien sculpt, but I do like it more as a fantasy sculpt with those ears and I ordered her Sartoria elven faceup. Also got her fullset. I'm not doubting my purchase, but please please please I hope I like her after 4 months of waiting (or however long it takes for production.....)

      :D:D:3nodding::3nodding:

      Yup. It was a lovely Sunday today (frantically ordering last minute sartoriaJ doll because that makes it more exciting!!!)
