I really want to share photos of my Jude but he's still wig-less and body-less. Other dolls keep getting in my way to get him together.

 

@Quiet and Insane I'd just like to see his head.

 

He's borrowing a body and a wig at the moment, but I could share a couple of photos if I get the time to. This have been busy and I have been feeling rather unmotivated.

 

@Quiet and Insane No pressure, just when you can.

 

How long do the dolls usually take to be made? Or are the waiting times on the website are correct?

 

I ordered my body (with Zakary head) 5/22. Jay told me end of August it should be shipping but maybe earlier.

 

@Mahgiep Thank you for your reply! So hopefully my Lobelia will be ready in November ~

 

As promised, here's Vagabond. Currently borrowing everything but his eyes. He's on a SID body at the moment, which while a great body, makes him far shorter than he's supposed to be. His character is a supposed to be on the larger, more intimidating side of things and having him on the SID even temporarily feels a little...weird?

He is rocking it. If you want him in a bigger body, Zak head works wonderfully on a EID model body.

 

My Zak is also on the model EID body! Nice!

I think the way his jaw and head is done it really balance him out perfectly for the bigger body.


I was checking to see yours, but I think that you got one back in May, do you have it on hand? Just curious if he had arrived.

@Bren I have a Zakary (Ki Yoon) from when Zakary first came out as a head. He shares the model EID body. I ordered a second one on the new SJ body (same Beast faceup) which should be coming this month.

 

Yes. I remember him. It took me a moment to recall that you also was nice enough to share info about his great wig. Just had some air dust in the noggin. LOL.

Will look forward to seeing your new Zak in their new body.

I hope I love the new body as much. I'm not sure what I will do with two of the same heads. Maybe change one face a bit for a brother or cousin. I'm bad at selling. I hold on to everything forever!

 

@nancy_schroeder_ca - Thanks! That's true, though he's surrounded by 70+ cm guys and he looks...a little childish? I have him standing on a box at the moment, which helps.

@Bren - I was definitely going to go for a EID model body for him. It's still a tiiiiiiny bit too muscled for what I'm looking for (think more uh, dad-bod ), but it means I can get an Arvid head to be his second "fight" head.

Hahahaha definitely not as built as a rugby player! The person my guy is based off is a tall, broad shouldered, soft, 30-something dad of two. The 28M is definitely close to what I'm looking for, but softer if that makes sense. I want to see a little bit of squish and less defined muscle.

 

@GreenTeaSlug I'll have to see what ideas I come up with for the second head! I really can't wait to see the body! And figure out if it will be shared or not! Jay told me late August for shipping which is very very soon!

Oh for goodness sake, I've gotta find me a money tree QUICK!!! I managed to order my Serena in peach cream, yayyy! She will be my first SD in years! I am so glad they made her available again, I so regretted not buying her the first time. And now the 51cm men (my go-to bjd size) are starting to appear... I want them all, how am I going to whittle my choice down to just one??

 

Apologies if it's been asked and answered before, but please does anyone know the bust measurement of the SD female body corset bust? Does the push-up style mean she can't comfortably wear any normal SD female clothes, or is it a similar size to the Dew option maybe?

Oh no. He has an aquiline nose! Ohhhhhh nooooo that's doom for me. Or rather, my wallet. Aquiline noses are my biggest weakness.

 

I'm really excited about the51 cm pose body. Is there a discussion group specific to their MSD line? I did a quick search but didn't find it. I don't want to hyjack this thread

 

Thanks for the info @GreenTeaSlug. They look wonderful on her. Yeah. I hate gaps in eyes. Good to know to go up a size and still get the size down pupil. Probably why Eyeco works on my Yvonne. they have them in odd sizes, 13mm instead of 12mm because the white is larger.

@GreenTeaSlug - Thank you! I got the Pose body and I really love the joints in the elbows because you can twist them when bent. It has lean sleek abs and hips and gorgeous legs...with broad shoulders. A swimmer for sure! The only thing I have to get used to is how he is strung with the elastic. the elastic in his legs don't go up through the torso so when I lift him his legs dangle a bit and I have to make sure they set correctly when making him then stand. He has ankles that remind me of the HID ladies. They are nice!

Here is a quickie shot where you all can see his gorgeous legs. I do get a hint of the Iple aesthetic in the sculpt. I haven't experimented in posing him yet....I had little light to work with him today as it was very dreary.

Oooh did you make his crown? I started learning wirework several years ago and made myself a couple of small jewellery pieces, but nothing as fancy as that! (Maybe I should start practicing again? )

Here's my blue-eyed boy, Limited Jarrad


So now I need help. His pants didn't fit, they are falling off - way too small. Is this normal? I will use them on other dolls and make another pair of britches. SJ sent two full outfits (I only paid for one), so am not complaining. He also came without eyes. Is this usual? I had a pair of blue ones on hand, but they look too small (12mm). It looks like he needs 14 mm.

Otherwise, I think he is gorgeous and I know we will work out our differences and learn to live together. He is so sexy next to my ladies, I look forward to posting pics. I made the necklace this week - it's real sterling and turquoise.

@GreenTeaSlug, I just know you have some good advice! I want to hear from everyone else, too.

And yes. SartoriaJ doesn't put eyes in even when you buy eyes with your dolls. 12mm is to small for him? Wow talk about blowing my mind. I know Jude, they had him supposedly wearing 8mm but I found that 10mm with smaller iris were the best for him. But now you say that 12mm for Jarrad are to small. dang.

Do you mean that you got two outfits as your pic and neither pants fit? Gosh, I hope not cause I got a Jude with that same outfit and unlike you, I don't sew, so if the pants don't fit, that will suck.

Reminds me please what color is y our Jarrad? I was looking at perhaps getting in in amber beige. But I still have not made up my mind.

I put in 12 mm, but I could be wrong, I am brand new at this. This is the 71 cm height. I think he is amber beige, but I already put the box in the attic. No, the pants are too small, really bad, and I did get two complete outfits. However, now I can have two figures in uniform.

Did you get the 51 cm doll? He would have smaller eyes, I imagine.

 

I actually have all three previous sizes, head wise, THE SD, and both MDS 5/6 and 6/7 heads, but I was referring to the SD size.
As for the full doll I got on layaway the 71. So perhaps Jarrad head is bigger. I do know that they said they had made Jude head bigger to fit their SD, so that would make sense that he may require bigger eyes.

and dang, that is not good news on the pants.

 

Well, I think he looks great and better in person than I was thinking. So handsome! Wonder if dark hair would make him look more Asian like all my boys. I wonder why the pants don't fit! Did you tell Jay?

I probably should. Since I got an outfit for free, I don’t like to complain, but this will happen to others. I just love the doll anyway. The parts that do fit are spectacular, and you’ll be seeing my girls wearing the tight pants. LOL. Will think about it.

 

Ordered 51 cm Jude today. I was going for Iplehouse's Rex, was planning to order in December. But then I saw Jude and that orders will close soon. So, instead of new furniture I will have him)

Rex was close to what I pictured but not quite. Jude is just right.

Hopefully, they will get along with my girl.

 

@Frillseeker - Congratulations on your handsome boy!

As for the eyes...if he was part of the deal with getting a free head because you ordered one before (of the other size) then no...eyes do not come with him. That's how my Jude arrived. But if he was a new purchase some doll companies put inexpensive eyes in for free. I think now SartoriaJ is allowing you to choose (or not) what eye you want and they are a nicer quality and you are charged for them.

 

Oh my there's has been some serious eye candy boys in this thread recently!

Popping in to ask if any body knows anything about Sartoriaj's parts all being sold out? All the optional hands and feet...even cover rings are not available. Any ideas as to why? Haven't been able to find anything on the site. See here SD - PARTS

 

No idea. But maybe when the SD dolls are available again the parts will be too??? I would ask Jay.

Any minute my new Zakary will arrive on the mail truck! Getting pretty excited!!!
