Sartoria J Design Group - Part 3

Jun 26, 2023

    1. For this year I loved pirates the most.So much so that I was surprised when SJ posted that they think Napoleon was peak, I thought the pirates were the peak for sure :whee:

And overall I love Tarot the most. Not only because of Tarot Daniel, but mostly :sweat Even if I don't need Daniel for a character anymore if they re-release him I would buy him anyway...I'm weak.

    2. @Ashemanu - Thank you! Nice to know there are Dean supporters out there! :whee:

@Sianserais - Excellent choice! She will be amazing. :3nodding: And as for Theron, I do have an idea, that he will be the counterpart to my Yule Goat Yul...:evilplot:

    3. :thumbup

    4. It's like I'm seeing his sculpt for the first time, and I like him a lot! :aeyepop: SJ's fullset Dean was really cool, but the lack of a draw-point to his actual face never sold me in the original promo.

Hold up!!! Will you be putting Theron and Yul together in one photo? They would make a stunning visual pair! :love

Also Happy New Year, everyone! Here's a photo of my girls. Cori has her blonde wig now and Amara's curly wig is slowly but surely still coming through the mail :sweat

Guess who's the real Domme and who is merely being costume-cheeky.

    5. @sageyufi - Thanks! Yes, I plan to photograph Yul and incoming Theron together...probably by next Christmas! :hollyberry LOL. This hobby develops patience for sure. ;)
And your girls are lovely! What type of wig is the short blonde one? It's cute.

    6. @luluna That wait...oof :sweat I'm sure you'll be working on or receiving other dolls in the meantime though!

And thank you! It's a custom wig I commissioned from an artist on IG. I think it's an alpaca wig--very soft but I'll need to restyle her waves since I overbrushed it trying to fix her hat hair lol Here's a better look:

    7. @sageyufi - Well Theron will probably arrive before next Christmas...but that will be the time will want to really do some photos of him with Yul.:treecookie And yes...I plead guilty to have other dolls incoming. I was bad with the Pirate offerings.:apirate:

The wig looks great! I really like the pale color of it. Thanks for the photos! Your girl seems pleased with it too.:)

    8. Amara's wig is here! :D

A special thank you to @Ashemanu for recommending the talented SophyMolly to me :abow:

    9. Do any of you know how well a 1/3 size outfit of this brand would fit a feeple65 or feeple60 doll?

    10. That color is so nice. It is very tempting.

    11. @sageyufi This is lovely, it suits her so well! Glad that you are happy with it :)

    12. Amara's wig is lovely. Very pretty style!

      • x 1
    13. I believe it would fit a Feeple65, but it'd be best to compare measurements of the dolls themselves. F60 will be much too small, though.

    14. Just curious, but has anyone of you bought Derek with his demon wings? It's kind of difficult to find owner pictures of them online.

    15. Hamlet and Lady Macbeth are up, and they both look amazing! :D

Melissa gets the best faceups, I swear! And it's nice to see new expressions on dolls, not just a special head!
Guys, I think I'm finally caving in for a period clothing set because I am incredibly weak for the rich jewel tones and how luxurious the designs look. I may even consider getting a corset bust too.

      • x 5
    16. Hamlet is spot on imo, even if I cannot see the difference between the two head sculpts. I always imagined Lady Macbeth as an older, darker and more plain woman, but still Melissa is amazing with that face up. Just ordered her with clothes and all! I was happy to see that I could choose the dress with corset or bell bust option! Now I am in for a very long wait, I guess ;)

    17. @Ashemanu - Just in case you wanted to know, the worried look is fairly subtle, but Mood Paul shows signs of muscle contraction in the brow area and the shape of the skin between the brow and eyelids. So he's got a bit of a pucker between the brows, and the skin below the brows has been drawn up where it meets the nose, and down and in slightly on the outside of the eyes. At least that's what I see.
Congrats on Melissa! I agree the dramatic faceup is stunning on her, and that outfit is gorgeous!

I love the idea of the mood sculpts, and both of these look nicely done, but I don't know how much use I'd get out of it if I had one. (Basically moot, though, since I can't justify getting either of them.)

    18. Jay made the corset bust in Parts available to purchase again, in case anyone had missed the previous sale or don't want to purchase a whole new doll at the moment.

      • x 5
    19. Are they sold already, because I can't find the bust parts?

    20. They may have only listed them for a short time while the corset bust dresses were available. They worry about different batches of resin matching. If you want one you should send them a message on the Q&A board and ask if you can order one.

    21. So, after a little over six months, Margot and Marina have finally arrived home. :love
Excellent BJDs! The new 65 Athletic body is very close to the Iplehouse HID.
In case anyone's interested, I've uploaded a comparison photo to Flickr. Since Marina can stand on her beautiful fin, she was allowed in the picture too ;-)

    22. @JL_The_Lion Congrats on receiving Margot and Marina! And thanks so much for putting them all side by side for comparison, especially with Elle. Those are three beautiful dolls in one picture :love

      • x 1
    23. Oh, we're all looking forward to their makeup.
It's sad that you had to wait 6+ months for a doll with no makeup.

      • x 1
    24. Thank you very much! For me, the HID Elle is one of IH's most unattainable beauties and one of my greatest treasures in my collection. Even Margot's athletic physique can't compete. Maybe Marina's adorable fins ;)

      • x 3
    25. Thank you so much <3 I hope the faces and fins turn out well in terms of color. I still need to wait for warmer weather and order some more attractive Schmincke airbrush paints;)
The delayed arrival is due to problems with the production of the new 65 ATH body. I contacted SartoriaJ shortly before the 6-month period expired and received this reply.
Due to production problems, Marina was also finished later. Both new resin beauties arrived together. :love

    26. I finally got to take some quickie photos of my Doll of the Month Evelyn who arrived in late February, that I ordered back in June of 2025. :XD:

    27. I made a post in the waiting room, so I am sorry if you have seen it already!

I got my 1/3 Marina body in at the beginning of last month and I am really in love with it. It wasn't a planned purchase, that's for sure, but I am so very happy I decided to do it anyways!

I hope its okay to show other heads here as I got mine as just a body. Pictured are Supia Heeji (blonde) and Golden Era Clara (brunette). Her intended head is still away to be painted and I have to find someone to send her tail to, but she is just so much fun!

    28. @luluna Oh, she is stunning! I really love the mold! I think Evelyn works better in SD than MSD. She is so beautiful ... well, beauty takes time, doesn´t it? ^^ She really took her time!

      • x 1
    29. @Ashemanu - Thank you! I do love this particular sculpt.:whee:

    30. @luluna Gorgeous girl, as always :love Evelyn has such a lovely old world face, if that makes any sense haha. I can see her as anything from a silent film star to a heroine in a gothic romance.

@Faerie_Soup Love to see the mermaid body, I remember you posting her in the waiting room! What's her intended head going to be?

      • x 1
    31. My plans are for a Supia Esther! Hoping the resin is at least a moderate match, my Supia old 'normal', despite being kinda yellowed, is pretty close so it will likely be close enough that I can shrug it off IRL x)

    32. @Faerie_Soup ooo love that you laid out a moodboard, what a good way to see if your ideas are gelling! Love the colors, def share her again when she's complete!

    33. New @Wittyilynamed - Thanks! Yes, she does have an old-world face! I love that she is different somehow...and that may be it and why!

      • x 1
    34. New Marina is just stunning! Love that the tail can stand vertically. Hoping I can find her second hand one day.

    35. New Marina is so beautiful. Makes me wish I was more into mermaids haha! I can't wait to see how people get her tail painted!

Stunning! Love the red hair, too.

    38. New @luluna Ah, that answers my question about her from the waiting room thread :XD: Grats to your new girl!

I guess the new Tarot dolls will all be 1/3. I cannot imagine that they make all these intricate adornments for the smaller dolls.

      That wig!! Absolutely gorgeous.

I wish I had hair like that IRL.

    40. New So, my Margot has arrived! She is truly impressive. For me she looks a bit different than the Margot on the Promo pictures, but I like her more this way. I only managed a not-so-good picture, I guess I was too impatient. She got the name Lune :)

      [IMG]Lune01 by Ashemanu, auf Flickr

Her outfit fits surprisingly well, especially the boots! She makes a very convincing pirate! Now I am contemplating her looks in that Cleopatra outfit :D

      • x 11
    41. New @Ashemanu - Oh congratulations! She's wonderful! :)

Is she in Sonoran or Amber Beige?

    42. New @luluna thanks :) She is Sonoran

      • x 2
    43. New Congrats! She is lovely.

    44. New @Ashemanu Congrats on your Margot! I really like the wig you've given her—suits her wild pirate character just perfectly!

The men are still remain to be seen but I'm so jelly of everybody's pirate dolls. Crossing my fingers that my pirate will come home soon (Ayla 65 ATH) :eusa_pray

By the way, SJ announced a renewed 73 ZEUS body. This is exciting news for those of us who wished the body had thicker legs and an overall more balanced top-bottom ratio (saying as I'm a thicker-bigger-moar enthusiast and a certified spindly-limbs anti when it comes to body sculpts). Also improved poseability!

On aside, I like that SJ is so far offering clothing sets tailored to specific doll bodies rather than always a one-size-fits-all deal with last release and this current one. I hate when tops tailored to the 61 APH body are too short and flare awkwardly on other bodies for example.

    45. New @Ashemanu Your Margot is gorg, love her with the curly hair, definitely fits her as a wild pirate!
