Took the plunge and ordered Sarah! After they raised the price for face up F for 20$ I decided it has to be good! Together with eyes and hand blushing, and now my wallet will hate me forever. I can live with that

 

OMG didnt notice there is Part 3 for Sartoria J boys and girls!

I was wondering if anyone tried to put female SD heads on ther bodies? I assume SID from Iplehouse should fit but what about other? Like Dollstown 17 or Soom.

I would be so curious to see rosewater next to peach cream after this latest batch. I almost thought Jay had sent me the wrong resin color, my two new peach cream dolls were so light!

 

I only have 2 SJ ladies, a 2023 amber beige elf Luthien and the cocoa brown Maya.

From what I've been reading lately, SJ skin tones are are not consistent, and that makes me cautious to make my next purchase. I'd like to order a peach cream but I'm afraid that the color isn't like what they have produced in the past. (not as rich) Thus, it won't be the same "shade" with another purchase down the line. Plus, buying replacement hands/feet the skins won't match. (worse than with a slight difference)

 

@susieagent99 I can say the peach cream is definitely inconsistent, my Peach cream Vittoria from two years ago isn't much darker than my new ones, but she's got a much yellow-er undertone, and there's no way she's yellowed that much in the dark room I keep them in just in two years haha.

I ordered holding hands for my Sonoron beige Eleanor from two years ago, I'm hoping its not too large of a difference.

 

I always like to order extra hands and feet with a new doll in case of cor changes

 

Any idea about hybriding SJ girl head with another body?

 

Girl heads are pretty small iirc, I think maybe an impldoll body would work? You'd have to check neck circumfrence, shoulder width, resin match, etc. etc. but that's all that comes to mind. Why don't you like their bodies?

 

Iplehouse is very compatible with SJ women. I've put them on Iple HIDs, EIDs and SIDs.

I was thinking about impledoll but somehow hesitate since I never saw their bodies in person. My main idea is maybe Dollstown 17 girl body would do - by neck circumference they look like they match, plus I saw Dollshe Amanda as a hybrid on that body and her head is even smaller then Sartoria girls and it looked nice. I’m getting a head in rose water which is very much white skin tone and I suppose pale skin tone of DT should go well.

I like Sartoria bodies a lot - especially Aphrodite but the head is coming in split and I need to shell a character that is in quite slim and I need something visually less sensual then Sartoria own body.

Yes, they work. The nSID body has the longer neck (as does the HID body.) So if you don't want that look use the older style SID body. I didn't bother to modify in part because I switch out heads often.

OMG you're an angel - I can clearly see the reference now! Neck is long but very naturally long - a lot of fashion models have long necks. Your Arran is so pretty, omg.

Yes, I just saw it. It looks like new doll will be a jester, cause I kinda see jester hat in the image. I saw image of sartoriaj tarot doll The Fool and I love it, can't wait to see a jester made by them.

@Onkani - And I believe this photo of mine shows a Yvonne head on a regular SID body. This head "might" be slightly larger as she works really well on and EID body too.

sadly SID and EID are more on the sensual side from what I need, so I’m still looking towards DT17. I’m scared this won’t be a match and I will have to go through a nightmare of buy-sell-buy again lol

the new Jester looks cool, luckily he’s a guy so I’ll admire him from distance (I never know what to do and what kind of clothes to make with guy dolls lol)

 

It may be a bit too curvy and have quite wide shoulders but maybe with a small chest the impldoll would look fine... lemme also window shop and see if I have better ideas.
Possibly the 63cm body, the normal is probably the best option in terms of resin since rosewater is just a light normal iirc and the shoulders are only a tiny bit wider than the Mintonette body. The small chest might also be a good option.

Impldoll girls have thinner neck - 8,8 and some have 9.

The body you gave me a link to is soo beautiful, but sadly a little Volks look-a-like, and so far I'm torn between nSID and Dollstown17, more inclining towards the latter.

Haha I will have to wait for a long time to get this hybrid since I cant afford dolls only on a long lawaway and my co-splitter and I finish the layaway for our girl only in October.

Does anyone know how long it takes to send a doll after layaway if finished?

P.S by the way I had Melissa in Rosewater skin and she was basically white with a little tint of rose skintone. She arrived in 2024 so its sort of new.

Thank you! This was the first set of photos I took of her. (Back then SJ didn't even have a body for her! And if I remember correctly her head might be slightly larger than what they offered later.) I then put her on an EID.

Oh yes it’s pretty but I’m afraid Sartoria J bodies aren’t to my taste. Though I have to think about the mobility type. One day I will get a whole doll from Sartoria lol perhaps Jenice.

I did some research and I found Doll Family H body (68 cm) it has ballerina feet and high heel while feet as well, neck and color seems very much matching so I’m inclining to that one. Plus it’s a little cheaper then DT17, l though must admit I do like that body a lot haha

 

So, Sartoriaj showed the jester photos. I always thought that I would love Paul sculpt more if his mouth was just a bit smaller(very subjective opinion), but for the jester with this faceup - wow, his mouth looks perfect, they couldn't have picked a better boy for this role. It kinda changed my whole perception of this sculpt now, i feel like he is the best as dangerous and hot jester.

If I click the Summer Carnival tab at the top I can view the page where Paul is listed, but I can't view the details of the event.

Sometimes SJ puts out so many of good things (at one time)...it's hard to choose what to get...Sometimes I wish they'd spread out the offerings a little more.

 

I adore the new Lobelia - if she had been MSD I would have been sorely tempted. Now I wonder, is the carnival only SDs? After buying Sarah with the new face up I really do not need another big doll (not that I needed Sarah in the first place )

 

Happy day today - finished my layaway with split for Sartoria girl! And also managed to order a body for her. ♥️

I really like Lobelia and Natalie. It's too bad that I could not get Joey, earlier this year. I've been trying to keep my spending down.

 

I like Natalie the most so far, she even outshines Lobelia in this colleciton and Lobelia is one of my favourite sculpts by SJ. She looks like the star of that circus.
But so far they are not for me and I am glad to be safe for once SJ already got me with MSD Matias earlier this summer.

 

Ok guys so I got my future Sartoria SD girl a Dollstown 17 body, lets see what type of hybrid will it be. According to all calculations it should be a great match fingers crossed!

 

I'm waiting until I see the final doll to make a decision but I think I'm going to try and get Natalie. Her outfit is absolutely stunning but I worry that if I had her in it, I'd be loathe to ever try anything new on her and I'd like a doll I can use as a clothes horse

@nocturne67 Unfortunately she is released in 1/3 scale. But if we find a small eyes, we will consider about releasing her in smaller scale too. ❤️

Probably smaller eyes with small irises. They do exist!
