San Diego's 2nd BJD Con! December 4th, 2010

Aug 23, 2010

    1. Yes, another fantastic San Diego BJD con! Thanks to Bruce and his hard-working crew for putting it on! Thanks to the vendors for bringing so many tempting things to buy! And for contributing to prizes and gifts! And for everyone who made such fantastic costumes. And everyone for bringing their amazing dolls. And for the faceup demo. It's definitely one of the highlights of my bjd-year! :D

gayle--I first saw your Paul Atreides pictures posted on DoA. It was a wonderful surprise to see him in person!

My silly 'the fly' guy is no comparison! Good thing there was that "creative" category! *_* I was in a silly mood when thinking of costumes ('cause I was being lazy and just wanted to do some quickies!-- and because I don't have a sewing machine and can't sew). I was also going to do "The Blob!" with a doll poking a twig into some glowing red slime, but I was bringing too many dolls already. And I thought there ought to be an "Invisible Man" entry! :D

Thanks to all the crazy folk who thought The Fly was actually creative!!! :?

The photo trophy was very nicely done, and the Yo-sized DollHeart costume was cute!

And I had fun contributing to the SOOM MD crowd! Organizing that shoot was ... interesting! I kept expecting to see thousands of dollars of dolly-dominoes topple off the table and hear everybody scream! The group photo was cool, though! I hope no dolls were harmed!!! :D

    2. Wowow...I was so pooped I slept til 11am!

Great day again Bruce. Can't wait to do it again.

    3. I also had a wonderful time! My favorite part was getting all of the SOOM babies together for pictures. And aside from somehow losing the miniature Lincoln Logs I had in my bag, the day was perfect! I look forward to the next one. And I agree that finding a more northern venue will help to bring in some people from LA.

Thank you Bruce and staff for running such a wonderful little con!

    4. I'm very glad everyone had a great time! I was exhausted yesterday and just vegged out and never touched the computer. The con went really well, and I'm glad that at the last minute our numbers went up to about what we had last year. Going in I was worried it would just be my staff friends and a room full of dealers! :?

Thank you lydiawalker for starting a photo thread. I'll add mine soon, hopefully.

Thank you Gayle for all the kudos! And congrats on the first prize!

Thanks, everyone, for all the work you did, from the dealers to the staff to those who drove down (and took the train!) to come. :D

Right now I don't even want to think about another con, but that's always true after a binge like this one. *_* Ask me again in a few months!

:aheartbea An individual shout out to my volunteers: Ailene, Annette, Autumn, Che, Chris, Glen, Jen, Lise, Rachel, Susan, and Terrie! You guys are the best EVER!
      :aheartbea

    5. Yes, thank you Bruce, and all of the staff for your hard work. I had a great first time experience, and so did my daughter. I was especially thrilled that there were other children her age there for her to meet! The con ran smoothly and very was well planned. The venue was quaint, the theme was awesome and the crowd was very friendly. I couldn't have asked for more! :D

    6. I am so glad it turned out well Bruce! cant wait to see the pictures!
