San Diego's 2nd BJD Con! December 4th, 2010

YAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!! I am so totally coming, and I am so totally dressing up my Aoi Tuki girl as Frazetta style Princess of Mars woman! The rest of the dollies may get Classic Star Trek outfits or something- we'll see.

 

being in texas and in school has never sucked so much T_T

 

I guess I need to start researching.

 

Well I can't wait! I think I count as staff this year? I have ome planned activities I think you'll all have fun!

 

Haha! I have no costumes for that theme! (... so I won't be an award-hog this year!)

 

I can and probably will drive there. Provided I will be back by Monday for finals. >.<

I would love to come, but local airport doesn't go to San Diego and DH won't do road trip in winter.

Are you guys setting up any kind of group rate at a hotel nearby for attendees? Or have a recommended hotel?

 

Thank you for the hotel list I am hoping to find something in walking distance so that I can just fly in and won't have to worry about ground transportation. I didn't realize most of the attendees will be local! Is there a link to a discussion thread or gallery from the last San Diego BJD con so I can see what it's all about? I'm torn if I should save the trip for the next Central California BJD Con...

Sadly, I may not be attending this year's con. But I'm glad that it's happening again - and hope it'll keep happening every year.

You know, the SF theme is pretty cool... I can't wait to see what everyone is coming up with!

 

Oh man, I want to come, but I have to do some number crunching to see if I can afford the trip (and also ask my cousin if I can crash at her place. I've been meaning to go visit her for a while now, so this would be two for the price of one am I right? ) But pulp sci-fi is one of my favorite things ever, so I'm crossing my fingers here.

 

Oh wow, how incredibly wonderful, a San Diego BJD show!!!! I live four hours away, and will definitely be there, either for the day or overnight! I went to the Central CA BJD Con back in May - it was my first BJD show, where I saw my first BJD in person & bought my first BJD too, lol! It was FABULOUS: the nicest people, fab stuff at amazing prices, and so many gorgeous dolls! I took a face up class with Cheryl Austin, FREE!! What a delightful day....can't WAIT for San Diego!!!

I am so excited about this BJD convention! I am new to BJDs and live in San Diego so this is perfect!
How do I get information regarding payment to attend? Will there be BJDs for sale? This will be a great opportunity to see a variety of BJDS!
Any information on the happening of a convention will be awesome! I have never been to one and have no idea what to expect.

 

Thanks for the quick replies brucedabold, I just have some questions for you. If I want to become a delear is there any special form I need to fill out or permits I will need for the event? This would be my first time selling at a convention, but I would be really interested in giving it my all for this event. Thanks!

 

I don't think I'll be able to go but I bought a ticket anyways. I live in LA and can't drive so getting there will be interesting. Hope I can make it, I've never been to a convention before.

I did a face-up tutorial at IFDC two years ago. I have a hand-out/supply sheet already made up as well as a DVD that shows the step-by-step process. If anyone wants to use this stuff to present, I'd be happy to send a copy of the hand-out and DVD. You could make copies of the hand out to give away, and run the filmed tutorial on a laptop.

Let me know bruce/pam if you want to use this stuff.

Yay! I am so glad this is coming around again! It falls on my birthday, but I think that should be fine! I think of it as a nice birthday present!

I shall have to register the beau and myself post-haste!

 

My friend and I just might be able to go!! x3 It's a long ways from where we live but I'm so happy my grandma's house is only an hour away. So it works out perfectly!!
Now to figure out what to do costume wise for my BJD... hmmmmm

 

Ohhhh, I so wish I could come but way too far! I have a costume I would so love to make... shoot!!!!
