The new Holiday Bebe has been available all day! Maybe the market is not quite as hot as it was. I want a BeBe but I don't like the faceup on this one.

 

I think that's the problem with her, the face-up, but it's indeed strange that she's still available, even though I don't like her faceup either, she's cute...

 

I like her faceup as it's soft and pretty, her outfit is not to my taste. But I already have a Bebe, and if I do get another Holiday Child to keep her company, it'll be a Miu with a natural faceup.

 

I was surprised to see that she was still available. I put her in my cart but cancelled for the same reason as Kayjay..I already have Bebe and the outfit does nothing for me. I wonder if Bebe sculpt was not as popular as the others. Yesterday LE Peanut was available. I was so tempted but passed. She is sold. I want a basic or LE Mignon and will be patient.

 

She is finally sold out. That is good! I was beginning to weaken!

I'm slightly confused with the size--
Do Holiday childs fit MSD clothes or SD clothes?
What wigs do they wear?

They are chunky MSDs so fit into some clothes made for Kaye Wiggs and Dollstown 7 and they wear an 8-9 wig. In comparison, Wednesday Child wear 'slim mini' clothes and wear a 7-8 wig.

 

So the holiday child's head is around the same size with Volks SD dolls?

 

I can't do comparison pics now as I've sold my Holiday Child but they share the same size wigs.

Thank you so much!!! My favourite Holiday's Child sculpt is Miu, but I am very interested in Pony as well. As I saw Bambi was very popular, but luckily I was not tempted to buy her. What I really really loved was the Limited Boutique Momo's pink ribbon with lace details on her face up. That is amazing, I really would like to have that on my Miu..

 

Oh yes, I thought so, too. I also tried to get her, but, of course, I failed. I can't help the feeling that it is also a question of how fast the internet connection is, and I guess the Asian ones are way faster, so sadly no Momo for me

I hope I will be able to snatch one as soon as they will be released as basic version .

 

Hi everyone, I just discovered this company because I was searching for ShaSha and I found she was sold out. How often do they do re-releases ?

 

Hello Fawne, I guess they do not often re-release their dolls. As far as I have understood it, they usually do a LE of a sculpt and then shortly after they will release the same sculpt as basic, however for a limited time period only. After that they hardly re-release them again, except for LE like "The One" or something of that kind. However, it might bring something if you contacted them... maybe they would be willing to release them once again if only enough people were interested? I for instance would at least love to see BeBe re-released as basic, but well I'm afraid that will never happen >___< .

 

At least Rosenlied shares their plans for the month with us. There are several new Holiday's Child sculpts being released this month. You might find something you like!

 

Aww that's sad that I probably won't see her released again. But thank you for the heads up, I'm sure I'll find one I like

 

I don't think it's impossible to see them released again.
I asked about BeBe once (July/2014), and this was their reply:

"Hello, this is Rosenlied's help desk.
We will release limited basic BeBe again but don't have exact schedule yet.
But it won't be soon... T_T... It will be at least few months from now."

She hasn't being released again yet, but they will someday.
If I'm not wrong, with Bambi they did two rounds of pre-order because she was so loved and people asked a lot.
So maybe as Sharkyra said, if people ask about the dolls they like they might be willing to release them sometime again in the future.

I so want to be able to buy BeBe, Miu, Bambi and MoMo someday. ^^

 

I wanted Miu and stupidly didn't buy her, so I bought Bebe, but she wasn't Miu so I sold her on. I hope they release Miu again one day! Also, check out Luts as they have released some (very) similar dolls with pretty faces. The bodies are almost the same, so much so that I think RL have questioned it. But they are pretty dolls.

 

Kayjay and I do have Miu and would have prefered BeBe. A pity you already sold yours else we could have traded dolls. >_<

No, I didn't do the face-up on Miu it came as a LE/full-set like that. I actually had plans to even change it and make it more girly, however, the more I look at Miu the more I see myself as a little kid when looking at her, so I guess the face-up is going to stay like that for now.

 

I really hope they re release some of the sculpts as they are so adorable and easy to fall in love with. I grabbed the opportunity to get Momo and also have Bambi on layaway but I would definitely love another chance at some of the other girls.

Rosenlied Holiday Children are so adorable ! It is a pity, that they are limited, and You have to hunt for them mainly through 2nd hand marketplace. Very few people are lucky enough to be able to get a brand new Holiday Child through the Rosenlied shop
I recently got my first Holiday Child, Mignon. I gave her name: Runa.
Here is my Runa in 3 different styles. Currently, I like her the most as an albino

 

Runa is lovely, all three styles are beautiful but my vote is for the middle one. Maybe we should all pressure RL to release the sculpts again, I would definitely buy Miu if they did, but I just want a pretty basic, not a highly painted limited

 

I made a little comparison with my Heidi's wigs (she is a Miu with Nomyens face up), I hope it will be helpful.

Hello everyone! Will be getting my first Rosen Lied doll soon. However, if I may ask, is the The One line dolls of RL limited? I saw one that caught my eyes on their website but unfortunately, he's already sold out :/

 

Rosenlied announce when they're going to release 'The One' dolls and they are literally that - unique one-off dolls and you need to be super quick to buy one as they usually sell immediately.

 

I wanted to order a Miu at some point, but not sure how I feel about the one available this time. :3 Might have to wait for the next Miu release.

 

Considering the The One dolls, the sculpts themselves aren't as limited as the design of the doll. So with much luck you might actually get the same sculpt, but you can't get the same outfit/wig/face-up combination which The Ones came with.

 

I think those ("The One") sell out really fast. There is a Miu that is just Limited though, and not only to one. But I'm just not a huge fan of the face up or the outfit on her. So I guess that means I have to wait for another Miu to come along D:

@Sharkyra so if ever I bought a The One line without the clothes, wig etc. it's just considered as a non limited doll? Something like a basic doll?

 

Each sculpt is given a name, like Momo, Cherry, Cosette. Each mold can be released as a basic doll with a simpler faceup and outfit, as limited with a fancier faceup and outfit which are credited to a specific artist, and "The One" editions that are similar to limited dolls but only one doll is made.

Basics are usually usually open editions or available for a limited period.

Limited editions have a specified number of dolls available.

The One is only one doll.

If you search for Cosette, you can see that she as been released in The One three times, as a limited twice and as a basic.

 

I think Nancy already answered this question in a perfect way, but to put it simply: yes. If you bought a formerly The One doll on the marketplace without her clothes/wig/face-up she would be considered a "basic doll".

I'm thinking of getting a Rosen Lied doll too. They are so cute. I wish more pictures will be posted here.

 

I also wish that more photos of Rosenlied dolls were posted! So here is my new arrival from the Marketplace: Holiday's Child Bebe.

Bebe is wearing a jumper and blouse/slip I made from a pattern for Kaye Wiggs MSD dolls by Trentsation (Etsy). I am still searching for the perfect shoes for her 55mm by 25mm feet. Her wig is a size 8/9 Monique Ginger Brown Hannah and her eyes are 16mm German paperweight glass.

 

Bebe looks great Therese52! Beautiful sewing It is nice to know Trentsation patterns will fit out HC girls, too. Did you use MeiMei size or the regular size?

 

@Therese52, Cute dress! Nine9 Style MSD shoes fit them well.

 

I used the regular Trentsation MSD pattern size. I thought I would need to shorten the dress hem, but I preferred the full pattern length.

 

Wasn't DOLK previously a dealer for RL? I was disappointed to see that they aren't any longer, at least, not that I can find. Was going to throw a Wednesday's Child into my next DOLK order.

 

I have not been on DOA discussion threads for awhile. I am delighted to see this thread a little more active. I was also reading the Baby Delf thread and find it so interesting that it is much more active than this one. Personally I think Rosenlied Holiday doll face ups are much prettier and I prefer the body sculpt too. Does anyone know why Baby Delf is more popular?
I recently got LE Miu and love her. Will post pictures soon.

 

I think there is a lot of discussion of new dolls. Some of the interest may be the old reputation of Custom House. And I think some people may have given up on Holiday's Child because they were so hard to get for a while. Time will tell! I do want to see your LE Miu!

 

I wonder why RL has make it so hard to get their Holiday dolls?
