I found that the Dollheart cloths fit the Benjamin nicely!!

 

Thanks! I don't have any poses in mind. Would you say the body is a slim MSD or regular size?

 

I would say regular size, the clothing measurements for him and a Luts MSD seemed slightly off, but they can interchange clothing beautifully, if that's helpful!

My first Wednesday's Child girl, The One Lacimoso Flora, arrived yesterday!
I've wanted a Wednesday's Child girl all year since they were released, but the right one never seemed to come along and then when she did, I couldn't afford to go for her. Plus she was a The One and they're always tricky to get.
The Flora came along, and while I was concerned about her being NS, thought she was just fabulous and had to try for her. I was lucky and managed to bring her home, and it was SO WORTH IT!

First the complaints.
For one, the Wednesday's Child girls need bigger boobs. I know this is entirely a preference thing and clearly a mature mini look is not what RosenLied are going for, but everytime I look at her I can''t help but think she needs more in the chest department, especially with her little bra top that looks like it was designed for a more mature doll.
Secondly, I do think she'd be better in WS. Again, entirely preference as I just don't like NS, but I still find her stunning so it's not going to ruin her for me!

Onto the GOOD STUFF!
She has glitter...on her eyelashes! FABULOUS!
Such a tricky faceup to photograph as she is SO sparkly, but that's so my thing. There needs to be more glitter in the world xD
The Oscar eyes are of course perfect too, and I'm pleased the wig and tiara I ordered for her from Little Monica worked out.
The outfit is also SO much nicer in person, though the headdress is much too big to use, and the cloak is MASSIVE! xD

Isn't she just SO glittery? LOVE IT!
Her faceup is actually quite simple underneath all that GLITTER! There are even chunks of it on her eyelashes!
I ended up taking a risk and going for Oscar's Cheshire Cat too from the last set of LE releases because I'm convinced there has to be something amazing going on with that faceup. I adore Oscar's work, and there's no way she'd do a boring faceup! Hoping my Cheshire Cat will arrive and be all SPARKLY or something!

A little bit of extra boobage - as I make up words - would be wonderful!
I do tend to prefer really booby minis like Unoa, but I'd be fine with the Wednesday's Child girls being smaller chested, as long as they had SOMETHING.
I feel like the outfit for my Flora was designed with the idea of a slightly more busty doll in mind, and it feels weird that she doesn't have something filling that bra top out!

 

A bit of boobage would be good but I do quite like that Rosenlied offer a limited choice but make sure they do their dolls well, and in a timely manner unlike other companies who bow to pressure and offer numerous choices but then take months to ship and not always perfect dolls (thinking of Lati for one). I hope to get a Flora this year but as we're on a strict budget (my hubby has started working for himself) she'll take some time to save up for.

 

Finally my Cheshire Cat shipped!

RosenLied had problems with the pearl eyes apparently, and STILL haven't gotten them in from the factory. So in the end they totally gave up and shipped out the dolls with different eyes so the email said.
The correct eyes should be shipped out to customers in mid to late March it seems.
I've got some Oscar eyes for her from Little Monica though so, I'm not too bothered about the crazy eye situation.

She just cleared customs in Japan so should be here tomorrow!

 

Yay! I can't wait to see pictures. That was nice of RL to ship dolls and be honest about it. I wonder what the pearl eyes will look like.

I haven't opened her yet though as I'm leaving her for later when I've gotten some stuff done as a reward, but her box is sitting here saying OPEN MEEEEEEEEE!

Very sad over here. She has arrived faulty.
This is the first time I've seen an LE arrive from RosenLied in anything other than perfect condition, so am really disappointed.
I haven't even taken her face cover off yet as I've been busy taking photos of the problem to send to RosenLied.

Basically the knee joint on her right leg is just wrong. I can't tell what the problem piece is, but there is a gap between the calf piece and a thigh piece.
I'll include a photograph so you can see what I'm talking about.

It really feels like they just rushed her out and no one really checked her, as this was the FIRST thing I saw when I opened her up, and that's just really sad because RosenLied have always provided perfection. After waiting so long for her, and still not even having the eyes she was supposed to come with, it makes me worry that they're having problems. ;3;

 

Oh no what a disappointment I'm sure RL will fix things for you, their customer service seems really good.

They do have great customer service and I'm sure they'll fix it, but I'm really not sure what the issue is.
If it's just a wrong part (I may have 2 x lower left leg parts for example) they can just send me the right part and I'll have to try and change it; I have massive nails so these things can be close to impossible. It would be awful if they want me to sent her back though!
She's still sat naked in her box as I'm just not sure what to do with her right now.

I DID throw her wig on to snap a quick photo though so you can see her!

There's a lot of really interesting stuff going on with her faceup, which I was honestly worried was going to be too simple for my taste.
I'll be honest, I wasn't 100% sold on her, and I'm sure only ended up getting her because I'm a huge collector of Oscar's work, and really love the Oscar and moi atelier combo. She's really interesting though!
There are two types of eyelashes - really dark ones on the outside of the eye then light ones on the inside - and her entire face is covered in this very fine sparkle.
The way the lower lashes are painted can make her look really creepy too if you take a photo at the right angle.

These are the temporary eyes RosenLied sent her with, and they look a lot like they're just non-pearl versions of the ones I was suposed to get and will be getting later.
I'll be putting THESE eyes in her anyway I think!

I am so sorry to hear that she has a defect. I am sure RL will make the problem right. They have excellent customer service.
Do you feel the face up is to plain for your taste? Is that her default wig? I thought it was a brown mohair? Please take more pictures.
She looks very pretty in this photo, but hard to see her face up.
I hope you feel better about her. It was a long wait and can understand your disappointment.

No, this isn't her default wig. It's a RosenLied wig in the amazing lavender shade. I adore this shade so much and now have 3 of my girls wearing this colour.
For me, I do think the faceup is a little simple. The last RosenLied doll I got was a The One (see page 3 of this thread!(, and they always have such detailed and intricate faceups, the LE faceups always look a little dull in comparison. This is pretty much inevitable mind you considering the LE faceup has to be re-created 10 to 20 times! I also know that Oscar can do a LOT more and it feels like she was holding back a little.
At the same time though, there are a lot of interesting things going on and I DO enjoy the faceup a lot more than I thought I would. i was sure that smiley face wasn't going to suit me, but as long as you take photos from the right angles, she can still look great!
Plus this is the first RosenLied doll I've gotten with high heeled feet and MASSIVE platformed stilettos. I was pretty shocked.. and thrilled!
I also have a DD-Anne March Hare coming at some point, and think they're going to look great together!


Edit 2 : I should add though, I think getting the Oscar eyes I have in her is going to really help her faceup! In that sense, it's much better that she's on the simple side!

 

Midnite! I think she is beautiful! How noticeable are the smiley red lines on outer corners of lips? I like the full lips. I really like her face up. I so wanted the White Rabbit.
I can't wait to see full outfit with stilettos!

Anyone has seen the new girl Rose yet? I think she is beautiful, and she looks to me like an older sister of Chocolat I am sure I will get her once she will be out as basic! She will be my first MSD since ages.

Yes! Isn't she pretty? I think Rose would be a pretty basic. I just got a new outfit for Emma Jean. It is nice she can wear Tonner Ellowyne clothes...

 

Sadly they still haven't gotten back to me, which is really frustrating.
I want to be able to play with her knowing she's going to be fixed!

 

I hope you hear from them soon. Can the leg straighten? What do you think the problem is? It must be frustrating not being able to play.

 

I think I have 2 x left leg lower leg parts, so, a left leg part on the right leg.
That would explain why there's a gap, and I've seen this sort of things a lot with other companies.
Technically I CAN play with her, but if they're going to get me to send parts/all of her back, it would all be too sad!

 

Well they got back to me.
They want me to send the entire doll back.

 

Oh no, can you ask if you have a replacement leg and restring her yourself?

 

I'm guessing they don't actually know which part is wrong otherwise I doubt they'd go through the effort or expense.
I mean, they're going to have to pay for me to ship the doll back to them AND ship her back to me again.
That really isn't cheap!

You can really tell they rushed these Alice dolls out though.

I have a question...usually the Limiteds sell out within minutes. Lately they are available days later. I always thought it was collectors in Japan that bought the Limiteds. Has the trend changed?

Kayjay, isn't Rose beautiful? I am happy with my girls or I would be tempted. I love Tuesday Harmony.

 

Nothing has changed there, the Japanese are still buying most of the dolls! You can tell because auctions are full of Alice and the White Rabbit right now who have clearly just been shipped out.
The thing is that honestly, the dolls just aren't that unique this time. With the exception of Rose - I'm not sure why she didn't sell out - they're not really partiularly special, and people know they won't even be able to get a good selling price putting them up on auction so no one is really bothering.
It does happen sometimes, and from the forums I've read, I know that people here expect the LE and The One dolls to be something special to justify the extra cost.

Plus, I don't know if this has anything to do with it but, the US$ seems to have gotten stronger lately.
Suddenly my dolls that weren't selling at all for the longest time have started selling, because I think the prices have become affordable again. When you flip that round, it means that it's more expensive for people in Japan to buy a doll with a price in US$ than it was a few months ago. From our perspective, they've gone up in price even though nothing has changed.
I really don't know if that has anything to do with it, but when you combine that to how simple the dolls are this time, it makes a lot of sense.

I still don't get it with Rose though because I think she's stunning!
I'd have been tempted, but JUST got my Cheshire Cat and now have to send her back, and splurged on a Momocolor doll yesterday so really don't have the funds!


Back to my Cheshire Cat, I'm off to mail RosenLied now and ask them how they're going to refund the shipping costs.
It's going to cost a LOT to send her back, and I'd rather not just have points.

 

RosenLied got back to me again and said I'm welcome to just send back the body if I like (so keep the head and clothes here), and they'll refund the shipping by paypal.
The reason they want her back is because, if someone made a mistake with the leg what if other mistakes were made too? They want to completely check her over for me, which definitely IS good customer service considering this is going to cost them money!

 

That's great news midnitestar, much better than customer service at some other companies I could mention (Lati..!).

I love Rose's outfit and shoes (Love those shoes..!) and I think she's special enough to have been snapped up. I'm looking forward to seeing the basic when/if she is released.

 

Thanks Midnite! That makes a lot of sense why they are not selling out. I am surprised that Rose is still available. She definitely is pretty and lovely face sculpt.
Please tell me how much is White Rabbit selling for on auction. She is my dream doll and I know I will never find her here. I am sure the price is more than I can afford.
I love RL customer service. So often I hear about defective dolls and the companies are not so accommodating. I am glad they are paying the return shipping in dollars. Please keep us posted on this.

Kayjay: The layaway plan won't work for you on Rose? She sure is pulling at your heart strings. I decided to pass on Harmoney. I love my 3 girls and hope to get more outfits like the SugarBaby one.

 

I've been tempted today, but she doesn't pull on my heart strings the way my Tuesday girl did who I love and adore - I like her but I can resist if that makes sense? I think I like her outfit and shoes more than her faceup (I'm not sure about her eyebrows mostly). Whereas with my Melody I had to have her.

 

I really really hope Rose will come as basic - why shouldn´t she? But I am also surprised she is still there (or the adorable Noah girl). I feel tempted too ... but I know I would enjoy her far more with a different face up.

 

Midnitestar, I love your doll. Too bad about the leg, but it is best to wait AGAIN and get her fixed. Good idea to keep the head and clothes, then no worry about damage. They could always get you a new body. I know how you must fee though. I would be so pissed. I hate when things come wrong or damaged. This is wrong so they should have been more careful but we all know they will correct this. Remember when I want happy with my limited Benjamens White mohair wig? They made me a whole new one which is perfect so now I am happy. Before it always bothered me looking at that wig. It was an easier problem though.
pso Rose is available still. I have today to decide because we leave erly tomorrow morning for Mexico. The layaway makes it so much easier and she is lovely. Kayjay, I love her eyebrows. That is one of the things I like most. See how we are all so different. I love her mouth too. Benjamen is saying he needs a girlfriend so maybe she is it. Pressure pressure.

 

I caved in and got her - since they won´t release her in March as basic I got anxious if they will release her at all ... they will probably do so in April ^^ Ah well, at least I will get a nice dress, cool shoes and a beautiful wig this way

Thank you both, Oliveoil and kayjay It was a long fight since I normally don´t like MSDs ... (the size). But since I have a small army of Monday and Tuesday Children I always felt that at least one Wednesday Child should be included, if only just for fangirl's sake! ^^ And Rose is really beautiful. I just hope she won´t come in the same month as my Soom MD, that would be customs fees overkill

 

Ashemanu, she is gorgeous so glad someone here got her. I didn't get her and see she is now sold out. I am now in Mexco on holiday but if we hadn't been Going away I am sure I would have ordered her as well. Her face is gorgeous. I love her and now sorry I didn't get her but just could not get my self to press the button to order. I know there will always be another doll to order, there always is.

 

How long do they take these days with shipping out the limiteds, anyone knows from experience? Thanks

 

I just checked and I bought my limited Tuesday girl on November 7th and she shipped on December 28th, so just short of two months.

Yep, I have three coming in together at the moment, I hate to think how much I'll be paying customs... and I've got to convince my hubby that it's not as bad as it looks as they were ordered a long time ago

 

RosenLied refunded the shipping it cost to send my Cheshire Cat body - I kept her head - back to me just now, and apparently they've already sent her back me with the pearl eyes that they were unable to ship out to customers originally. Either they fixed her FAST or they had a totally different body waiting there to send me as soon as they got this one back.
Will let you know it goes when I finally get her all put together, but I'm thrilled they were so fast with getting her back out to me.

 

They have excellent customer service. Did they say what the problem was? I can't wait to see the eyes.

 

They didn't say anything at all about what the problem was. I don't even know if they've fixed it, or just sent me out a brand new body, so they might not have even figured out the issue themselves yet.

I'm excited for the eyes too! Couldn't really tell that they were pearly from the photographs so, it's going to be fun to play with them!

The body is perfect and so well strung this time. I'm thrilled with her!
I love that she is so slutty with her tiny lacy underwear showing and her GIANT heels, but then has that face that says, "I'm so sweet and innocent, I don't even know that that word means." LOVE!
Plus she is just SO Alice in Wonderland and is going to look amazing with my DD-Anne March Hare (6 month wait and counting for this one, but she makes them all herself by hand and it's a LONG process. I'm happy to wait!)

Will upload photos of the pearl eyes (that I'm not even using) in a second, though the difference is really minimal compared to the temporary eyes they sent her with.

On the left are the pearl eyes, and on the right are the ones they included as a temporary set until the real ones arrived.
I've kept the photo large so you can really see the pearl.
Honestly, they're not THAT different from normal eyes unless you look really close up like this!

It's funny that I kind of got her entirely because I have an Oscar + Moi Atelier obsession and was worried she wasn't going to be my thing, but with something as simple as an eye and wig change, and using the right parts of the outfit, she's amazing! Hard to believe I ever doubted he!

Now I just have to get through this week's releases without falling in love with anyone!

The new The One Rose is a dream - thank the gods I don´t have money for her, so I cannot be disappointed when the Asians are faster in getting her than me and my poor European internet connection

 

When I was in New Zealand over Christmas I tried to get the Cheshire Cat on her release date.
It was at THAT moment I realized just how much my RosenLied success comes from living in Japan.
I had NO CHANCE. The connection was SO SLOW I managed to see her go on sale but couldn't get her in my cart.
The only reason I got her at all was because their site had problems and they put her up again after Christmas. I was still away, but for some reason no one tried that day, or no one noticed she was going back on sale!
I think with The One, it's just TOO HARD unless you have a faster connection or it's a less popular doll.

I feel like Rose is going to be popular though, and I fear my chances.

Currently surveying my house for things to sell so I can at least TRY!

 

Heh, crossing fingers for you, midnitestar! At least you would love her - in opposite to some person who just gets her to sell her double priced on ebay or Yahoo!

I just adore Moi Atelier's outfits so much, and it feels like she really keeps pushing herself further and further each time!
I have so many dolls wearing her outfits now it's crazy!
But how can you go wrong with a doll that looks that slutty? *laughs*
I really love that bjd have reached this place where people aren't only seeing tinies as children. They were NEVER children to me so it was always really frustrating.
And now we have this!

I was so nervous I thought my heart was going to explode out of my chest, but SOMEHOW Eclatant Rose is coming home!


Now to go and decide what to sell. Promised myself I'd sell things if I managed her so, hard decisions must be made.
