I hadn't noticed they were different sizes *blushes*!! I thought they looked chunkier but thought it must be a figment of my imagination!! Should we be discussing them in the Weds thread do you think or should they have their own??

I want one even more now I wonder if they'd fit the 14" Kish clothes, or similar type of dolls.

edit - I've just compared chest/waist/hip measurements with my new Bimong Dandelion and they're not dissimilar, just slightly shorter.

edited again - I've studied the photos and love them Ok, now to find someone who wants to buy a 13 year old boy and a kidney......

She does look bigger and chubbier but I can't find the measurements. Where should I look?

 

Kayjay! You make me laugh. I am right with you! I love the new size. I like the joints too. I never thought about Kish size clothes fitting them. I am not sure I will get one, but they are tempting.

Looking at Dollswest's measurement chart http://www.dollswestdesigns.com/PDF_Files/Doll_Measurements.pdf I think depending on style and length they might fit some Kish 14 or 16 clothes. RL's measurements are Chest: 18, Waist: 16, Hips: 21.5 Kish 14's height is 3cm shorter, Chest: 17.7, Waist: 16, Hips: 16.6 and Kish 16 is right height, Chest: 19.5, Waist: 18, Hips: 19

 

Thanks for the measurement help. RL newbie here - The body pics remind of Alice in Labrynth body styles with the ball joints. I remember them as being good posers.

I agree! I thought of Labrynth dolls as soon as I saw the pictures. The limiteds are beautiful.

 

I have just placed an order for a Holiday BonBon (in Normal Skin, without face-up).
One of my friends was lucky enough to grab the limited Miu from the Ldoll, and I was able to have a look at her. The body is definitely cute ^o^
It makes me want one, so I went for a BonBon

By the way, my order status is on "Preparing shipping". Does it mean my order is almost ready to ship??

 

Congrats on your Bonbon, I have been very tempted but I don't really want another bigger size so I'm resisting and hope to get another YoSd next year instead. 'Preparing Shipping' is probably just the next stage in the checkout, they're preparing your doll. Unless of course they have some already made but RL normally makes after the order.

Well, I caved too. I ordered normal skin, Bonbon with face up during the event. I will pay off on Monday.
It states 30 day wait, so maybe the first of February for me. You will get yours faster, because of the no face up.

Pink gate, yes I did see Time Traveler. I love the complete doll. Her face up is beautiful.

Kobo, love your RL kids and the teddy bears. Lavender is a pretty sculpt.

Hello! May I ask the owners of Monday's Child as to where they buy shoes aside from the Rosenlied site?
I have bought several shoes for Lati Yellow and Pukifee size but they are all too small, I can't place it in the Monday's Child foot;;;

I got my Holiday child this weekend. Heres a picture of her with a classic ai

 

Oh she's lovely, are you happy with her? How is her body for posing? I might have to get one of these when they're available in the future

 

I don't really like all the joints. It is hard for me to get her to stand because all of the leg joints are separate balls and they always don't go back into the right position when going from bent to straight. She might be better for someone who is used to have more joints (I've only had customhouse dolls before)

 

She really is cute! Is that Miu? Are you happy with her proportions and face up? Please post more pictures!

 

Hopefully you'll get used to her joints, Custom House dolls have fairly basic joints, so you may just need time to work out how she 'works'? She is very pretty

 

It is a Miu. We thought she is proportioned quite nicely. Her hands and feet seemed like they would be huge to us but they are really about the same size as our Classic Ais. Her limbs are just not as fat. As you can see in the picture, the two dolls' feet are almost exactly the same size, which will be really nice for the few Classic Ai owners out there if RL releases shoes. I thought her faceup was a little dark around the eyes, but kitten seemed happy with it.

 

Thank you for the review. I have wait about 3 more weeks for mine to arrive. The site states 18mm for eyes. Do you think 16mm would work?

Minivega I don't care if your doll is in the wrong section, you painted her face wonderfully. I didn't think it looked like the Rosen Lied usual faceup but it looked like a professional faceup with those eyebrows. You must have used one of those spray things. Is this doll the Wednesday size?

So what is this talk about new bodies. Did Rosen Lied change their bodies. Which ones were changed. I like my bodies. I have the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday,

 

Over Christmas Rosenlied brought out a new size, 'Holiday Child', who will only be available in Holidays. She's more immature and chunkier than the Weds body.

 

She's so pretty! And I love her outfit, especially the hat. (Adding one more doll to my wish list...)

 

Oh that is it. I thought they were Tuesdays size but with those different faces. I have to admit I don't like how they have painted those faces. They look odd to me, not the usual pretty Rosen Lied look. Now if Minivega has painted this doll, I like her look. It is more of the Rosen Lied pretty look. The way Rosen Lied have done it is kind of cartoon looking but some people like it so that is good. Just not for me. I do remember someone ordering one though and not liking the face.

 

Be-life: I bought a gift box once. It was okay. I believe there was a wig, top and shoes for Tuesday.

Honestly, I think it is fine we post Holiday pictures here. This thread is so quiet and Wednesday thread has very little action.
Holiday, is like a big Tuesday girl!

 

I posted a pic on the Weds thread the other day, but it is very quiet. I don't understand it as I love my RL girl far more than any slim MSD who I have had living here before. She poses well, the resin is lovely and her face beautiful, what's not to love?!!

My girls' clothes are a mixture of items. Dorothy wears a gorgeous Jiajia sweater and skirt by Ajumapama, Evangeline's dress came (I think) with a Dollndoll YoSd that came and went but her clothing remained Shoes are Rosenlied and Pipos.

 

i have several dolls like my lemon that don't seem to be on popular threads, even though they are lovely well made dolls. i wonder if the owners of those dolls get discouraged and go somewhere else when the threads are so quiet?

 

It could be that people have enough Rosen Lied dolls but don't want or need any more. I still love all my girls and boys, I have quite a few and won't be getting rid of anyone but I don't have much to say because I am not buying and don't seem to be taking pictures of them any more. I have moved onto Popovy and Enchanted Doll which are still BJD and resin but oh so different. Rosen Lied was all about cutsie and frilly and my ED and Popovy are more about fashion and older looks, plus they have more the fashion doll look. I have changed my tastes a few times ove the years with dolls but for the most part I still like Everything I have. Maybe I should start selling stuff but when I go to look at what I can get rid of only one or two of them I am willing to part with. Actually my last Rosen Lied is the one I could sell. She is pretty and painted by Kana but a doll that never stole my heart and I can't even say why. I love Kana's painting and the outfit is really nice. Sometimes a doll arrives and you either like it more or less than you thought but you hang onto it because it is still nice. I find it a lot lf trouble to sell too so easier to have it standing with the others.

Holiday Bonbon arrived today. First, the quality of this doll is superb. She poses nicely and has a good weight to her. I continue to be impressed with Rosen lied dolls. I bought her at a time I was downsizing resin, but curiousity got the best of me. She may be looking for a new home, as the size is not working for me, but will give it a lot of thought because she really is pretty and I don't want any regrets.

All the Holiday Children here are really cute. I regret not buying one, but the price put me off too. In my opinion they are too expensive compared to other dolls that size. Anyway, want took over reason and I asked Rosen Lied if they will offer the basic Holiday Children again. They will, but did not say when. And this month two new sculpts will be released, as limiteds. I started to look here at the market place for one, but I am not sure where to look - MSD or tiny size

Oliveoil - I love your Bonbon, hope she does work for you, sometimes I think it's nice to have an 'odd' size, my Bimong Dandelion is a very similar size, more chunky than delicate and I love her. I have one Sugarbabylove outfit, I had to wait a long time for it, but they are worth it when they arrive.

Ocean-girl - I always love your photos and your Lavender is no exception, so pretty
Akiumie - There are certainly cheaper dolls of this size on the market, many of which I have owned, but Rosenlied have an excellent quality and clothing. If I was just starting collecting BJDs again, I would save up for the doll I really wanted rather than settling for one that was cheaper to avoid the buying/selling that I did.

I do still feel that the Holiday Child should be in the Mini section, as it is bigger than the Weds dolls, I know they are 'big' Tuesday dolls but they are very big and don't belong in the Tiny category in my opinion

 

They are a little more, but so worth it. RosenLied quality is superb, and customer service is excellent.

 

ocean-girl: thank you! Your Lavender is a beautiful doll. You photos and outfits are always so nice. RL really out did themselves on Holiday. The body truly is ball jointed. If I post pictures they will be on the Wednesday thread, but I am not active on there. I will try more clothes on her and post in my Flickr.

I didn't realise you were giving up collecting resin, have you gone on to other type of dolls, or just decreased the numbers? I feel a bit overwhelmed by the number I have here but I still want to add a RL Tues in NS, as well as another Weds in the future. If I had to choose a couple of companies to buy from RL would be one of them.
