Ringdoll Waiting Room v9

Paid off the 4th of 6 layaway payments for Ashford. It feels like I ordered him just yesterday, how time flies. Now I feel like he's finally within my reach, but who knows how much longer Ringdoll will take making him.

 

Time really does fly, it's been 3 months since I ordered my fullset Alice01. I had paid her in full upon order.
Tough time waiting but still super looking forward to her arrival.

 

There was at least 3 months between when I paid in full and when I had to ask how things were going... I got the “Almost going to ship” line...

 

@april I know the circumstances of your Boyce order were unusual but yeah, Ringdoll has not been inspiring much confidence in me with their wait times lately. When I got my first two Ringdolls (both fullsets) in 2016, they took about 4 months each, but a year later it took about six months for just a blank head and they only shipped it after I prodded them with an email. I think it might be because they've exploded in popularity recently. Hopefully they'll have added more staff to deal with the additional workload...especially with the insane numbers of Wei Wuxian they have to make. @_@

 

Oh... Ringdoll has had a history of long waits and then trying to fix that, then going into long waits again. Right now they have promised to start producing dolls when they are first ordered--presumably on layaway, since you'd think they'd do that with PIF orders, but maybe not??? They know they have long waits at this time, and know it hurts their business...

When I first ordered a Ringdoll (Frankenstein v. 1) in 2012, Ringdoll was experiencing year-long waits and lots of frustrated buyers and they promised they would start making Frankenstein BEFORE any orders--they showed a bunch of dolls being made to prove they had them in hand! I had already ordered, but I was wary. I figured that Ringdoll was going to try and make sure the wait times were better since they seemed to be aware of it and putting changes into place. But I also was prepared for a long wait! For a doll I want, I don't mind waiting. I worry more about not getting a doll at all and a company going out of business, frankly. Of course, a company that is in trouble might have long waits as a sign--but Ringdoll has still kept in business. And look at Dollshe... they are the most chronically late company and they have been doing that for years and years!

Anyway, my Frankenstein didn't get sent out immediately, but the wait was reasonable. I also ordered a Norman later on. Not really fast, but OK. I think my Boyce wouldn't have been all that bad if I kept poking Ringdoll... I left it until after 3 months to ask about him. and then I delayed the shipping, so I couldn't feel like I should really poke at Ringdoll that much!

I do think it's smart to email and ask about orders after one month for items and 2 or 3 months for PIF dolls. It seemed to get them to at least check into the order.

I never get angry about it. I'm sure they don't WANT to be slow. And I want these companies to stay in business. I think some polite comments help them know that buyers aren't too happy with the extremely long wait times. But some waiting is very common for bjds...

 

I emailed about my Jade and the rep said they were having trouble getting fabric that was up to their quality expectations. That they were just waiting on the shipment and then they could finish the clothes and ship them. I'm hopeful to get her in January hopefully??

 

I'm itching to get Akaoni that I ordered in August. Was hoping she get shipped by the end of this month but look like every doll been around 5-6 months mark since May. Seem like all my doll orders have always been at least 6 months wait time lol

 

Sorry to hear about the waits. Although maybe it's best to wait until after the Christmas shipping rush. So many packages get lost--although EMS should be fine. I hope you both get shipping notices soon.

I recently ordered the fullset Jade-B and it looks like I'm in for a long wait. I've never ordered through RingDoll before, but from reading everyone's posts, it seems like 6 months sounds about fair?

Aside from the fact that I'm a little nervous about someone forgetting my order or something going wrong, I actually don't mind the wait. It gives me a reason not to spend money on other dolls!

 

Just check in with Ringdoll after 2 or 3 months and maybe monthly after that. That should make sure they haven't forgotten, and you can get updates. Make sure you have your order details in your emails, just in case.

I don't mind waiting for the same reason of not spending more money on dolls---although it often doesn't work too well for me!

 

I just got notification that my Jade shipped! Very excited!

Apparently, she might be delivered today, according to DHL! I'm a little anxious, since my mail place is closing "whenever they get the last delivery" today, lol. Hopefully, she will be delivered today and they won't close before I can pick her up.

 

Jade was delivered about an hour after I posted! I'll upload the box opening in the morning, but it is safe to say she was worth the wait!

I'm curious to see how long my S will take before he can be shipped! I have him on layaway with BJDivas, so I plan on paying the remaining balance in full once he is ready (if he's done before my layaway, at least).

 

I missed the current Ringdoll event for my S order, but I did get a discount on a new order for an outfit so that he won't be naked on arrival (plus one for my girl to match him ). I'm hoping that he will be able to fit into a pair of shoes I have. Now it's time to wait for both of my orders!

 

Just finished paying off my layaway for Ashford Evo right before the new year! And now for the real wait to start.

Edit: Also, just emailed with ACBJD and they're estimating about 5-6 months before shipping. So I did the logical thing and added on a pair of werewolf hands and an outfit.

 

so are wait times for just blank heads/parts the same? i really have no idea how their order-to-manufacture process works.
i ordered a head dec. 4th, and immediately sent a confirmation email, got a response 2 days later saying they had received my full payment and confirmed everything and would begin.
on the 21st, I received ANOTHER confirmation email from them saying the same thing, and i emailed them again asking what that was about and never got a response lol.

 

@thorneless - I believe that's the case. Just before the new year, I finished paying for my Ashford EVO and when I asked about processing time, they quoted me about 5 months. I don't really know much about RD's process as this would be my first doll from them, but perhaps someone else could chime in.

 

They originally quoted me at 60-90 business days, but I haven't gotten any correspondence back from them since so I'm pretty suspicious about that. I'll keep updated though.

 

I was confused about getting a second confirmation for my Alice01 FS too. But I do have two layaways through them and added some things to my other order so that could have something to do with it.

 

I had this happen to me, though it was nearly 2 months into my wait when I got the second confirmation email. Somehow between the two my order details got changed (website glitch I think), so I ended up having to restart my wait time. Make sure the order is correct (and Ringdoll can take up to a week to reply sometimes, if not longer).

But that issue aside, I think Ringdoll wants us to reply to the initial confirmation email just to say that it's correct, so they keep sending them out until you do. I did that for my second order with them and everything was fine.

 

My Jade fullset is supposed to arrive this coming Monday, so close to 7 months wait.

 

I'm one month into my wait for S! I just fleshed out the backstory for his character, so I'm even more excited for the day when he shows up at my door.

 

Anyone else waiting on Hui Warlock Apprentice full set ? I ordered in July and nothing Is this wait time normal ?

I just received Warlock Apprentice Hui!! It was so insane, I've been checking my emails religiously for a shipping notification and he just arrived at more door yesterday afternoon without warning! I totally wasn't prepared at all! Ringdoll customer service emailed this evening to make sure I'd received it. I absolutely adore him I'll see about posting some pictures when the sun comes back out!

@Pinkhairedprincess: I updated the waitlist to show my payment / confirmation / shipment times..! I hope this gives you a better idea. I thought it was a while too, but after I received him and felt how soft and seamless his resin was.. the wait was definitely worth it!

 

Just received my full set Kashira after an almost 7 month wait. Originally was told it was shipped and received a tracking number back in August, but that ended up being a mistake on Jeeryama's part.

Hmm I guess mine was ordered in August so I won't see her untill Feb/March. So much for the 90days/ 4 months I was qouted lol

I just forgot to change them since I changed him into the pink hoodie first & yes! it's the Lucky Bags B, but I purchased another outfit as well for one of my other dolls.

Speak of the devil! Akaoni arrived at the dealer place. About 5 months since I ordrord her. Just have to pay for shipping and I should get her in a week or so. I'll try to make an unboxing thread when she arrive since there wasn't any Akaoni unboxing that I found on here.

Hi there. I’m someone that’s also waiting on ringdolls. My alfanso and Hui. The wait is killing me. I did a layway on Hui from us site so once I pay it off it’ll be shipped immediately. I was planning on paying it off very very soon. Can’t wait!

 

I also ordered Alfanso. I had him on layaway and just finished paying this month. I can't wait to get Alfanso as well.

I think my Ashford EVO might be shipping, I just got a notice from DHL on my phone from Shenzhen Yuzuo Culture Dev, who I believe is the bigger company that owns Ringdoll. Let's see how this develops.

 

Whoa, really? We ordered around the same time, so I'm wondering if mine won't be soon coming too. Though I ordered through a dealer, not direct (and still haven't paid off my layaway, though I definitely will if they tell me he's coming).

 

Mine is a blank one, plus I had an issue with the order 2 months in.

 

Ah, I see, I got him as a fullset so I'll probably have to wait longer.

 

I finally..! Created an unboxing thread for Hui for our friends who are eagerly awaiting his arrival. He's such a cutie! I can't wait to do more with him when I free up from school work.

I'm hoping to hear about Alice01 sometime soon. Ringdoll must be pretty busy with all of the new releases they're cranking out! Joy looks like she's going to be super cute!

 

I got a shipping notice for my Kashira! I ordered him back in March... he is my first doll so I don't have any others to play with while I am waiting. I can't wait to finally have a doll.

I have no idea what Ringdoll is doing, but I have not yet retrieved a shipping notice from them, but the DHL notice I got from DHL directly says my item is in my city.

ALSO, I ordered directly from Ringdoll and paid for the insurance they offer. BUT, Ringdoll decided to under declare the item at $45, in an attempt to save me money, but with a couple hundred dollars insurance on it, so now its been flagged at customs and DHL needs me to provide:
1. give DHL power of attorney to release this mystery item that I don't even know if it's my proper order
2. provide customs with both an invoice and receipt from Ringdoll. Ringdoll doesn't really have invoices or receipts, I just have my paypal receipt.

I'm so mad. This entire order has been a disaster (and when I checked RD's site, it stay show my doll's status as 'Preparing', not shipped).

I never want to order from them directly again, but sadly both Wei Wuxian and Lan Zhan are site exclusives.

 

I'm waiting on my Alice01 fullset, and I'm still very excited. She'll be my first Ringdoll, and my first new girl in a while.

I'm smacking myself though for missing Wei Wuxian though, I was an idiot and missed the order deadline. Might have to get Lan Wangji to make up for it.

 

@Kurokami I'm really sorry to hear of your ordeal... I hope you can get it sorted out soon...especially since I doubt Ringdoll will help because of Lunar New Year holidays. Wishing you the best of luck!

If it helps, Wei Wuxian is listed on Legend Doll, and I'm sure Lan Wangji will be too, so you don't necessarily have to go directly through the company to get them. I've only received excellent service from Legend Doll and I can't recommend them enough!

The both Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji were both approved for 3rd party sales. Promo pricing is not available from dealers but the dolls are. Just ask your favorite Ringdoll dealer they can handle the rest.
Wei Wuxian is quietly still available email an inquiry about it and you can order that way. He might not be available from 3rd party anymore but that's an easy question to ask. They are letting people still order him because alot of people complained they wanted both at the same time or because holidays around his release made it difficult to purchase.
There are ways around dealing directly with them.
I know dealers can sell the dolls because I asked Ringdoll directly back in November.

That's strange. I emailed BJDivas (a Ringdoll dealer) back in November if they were able to sell the doll, and they said no. I wonder if it was different with them?
