payed off baldwin...... Now the real wait starts

 

So to some people, I might've done something insane. I ordered a full set sp of baldwin so I could have all the bell and whistles. I said no face up though because it would break my heart do that to someone's art work, but I can't bond if I don't personally do the face up.

So getting a face up done increases wait time, but since it's a full set, should I expect mine to be shipped with the other full sets or do you think it might be sent before that particular group?

 

Welp, Ringdoll finally got me -- I squeaked in an order for Wo Long fullset with both heads. No faceup though so maaaaaybe not as long as a wait haha.

 

What doll did you get and how long after it's release? Someone on Instagram ordered Jia Xu fullset at the start of the year (red version). I ordered my normal fullset Jia Xu in mid April and I got mine about 2 weeks after theirs. Person on Instagram said 'you should get yours soon' and they were right but I don't understand how because I ordered mine 4 months after.

I have a friend waiting on fullest Anubis (with out the extras). She ordered him later in his release month. There are 50 ahead of her. Technically due to their wait times listed on the site she should have got him in October. But they said it will most likely be end November.

It makes me think Ring Doll does their dolls in batches. But I don't know when they find the time to day to do nude dolls, or dolls (like mine was) out of release window. Especially because some fullsets are up there for a year or two after.

If you have not owned a current Ring Doll, they have no seam lines and they come wired. So lots of sanding to do as well.

 

Ooh I just saw that someone else’s Zhou Yu has arrived!!! I’m hoping that means mine might be available soon too? I did pretty much order him the minute he was released after all!!! But maybe a lot of people did the same thing!

 

Ordered Baldwin in NS with all the extra goodies on the last day his fullset was available from Legend Doll I'm assuming he's going to come later than everyone who ordered him when he was released so this wait will probably torture me but I'm so excited!!!

I've been really busy and I haven't been able to upload this message before, but on the 28th I did the crazy thing of my life: I ordered the Comic Version of Hua Cheng! I resisted as much as I could when it came out in summer, but this time the temptation was too strong, I wanted it with all my might!
Has anyone else ordered a Ringdoll of the Heaven's Official during the Re-release period?

Ooh I just got the shipping notice for my fullset Zhou Yu!!! I ordered him in June. Now the question is: will I get him by Christmas?! That would be very exciting if so!!!

 

I got my 1/4 Zhou Yu fullset yesterday! I was so worried about the face up, but I am extremly pleased with it! He is my first ever Ringdoll doll, so I really didn´t know what to expect. I like the body, the face up is good, the full set items seem to be of good quality. Now I am figuring out how to put his clothes on the right way So, I can say I am very happy with him!

 

My Zhou Yu 1/4 is also here!!! I was going to wait and open the box on Christmas Day, but naturally I was too impatient! I haven't unpacked the clothes yet, but here is a comparison photo with my Iplehouse FID boy and SartoriaJ 51Ath boy:


Initial thoughts: he's very beautiful but his head is a lot smaller than the other boys in that size, so I'm in two minds as to whether he's going to work with them or not. The body is quite similar though, so the proportions otherwise look good. And I'm so glad he's here at last so I can stop checking the tracking every five minutes!

 

Wow! that's great! I think it's a very beautiful doll! Congratulations! I was tempted to buy this body for a standard 18cm MSD head, but in the end I didn't dare, I was afraid that it wouldn't look good because it had such a big difference in size with Zhou Yu's head, which is the one Ringdoll thought for this body ...

In any case, although I finally ordered a body for my floating head, if you have any 18cm MSD head and you ever try it on that magnificent body I would love to see the photos.

I'd be happy to take a photo with a bigger head if you like! Was it a 6-7" head or a 7-8" head you were thinking of? And what type? I have a few heads I could try for you, but mainly girls rather than boys! Maybe send me a message of what you are after so as to not go too off topic on this thread, and I'll see what I can do!

I’m considering one of their ‘kid’ size ones. I love the quality of the 70cm mdzs dolls I bought, but msd size is really my preferred size. The idea of a mystery doll is really intriguing!!

 

I got a 70 cm boy one from the last sale. I got dress shoes, a tie, a large over coat (plaid), glasses, and a wig. It was a generic white wig, nothing fancy. I haven't bought another one to confirm like a theme, but considering a coat alone can cost $30 for 70 cm, seems like you are definitely getting your money's worth. I use the wig for an msd with a big head, the glasses on another guy, and I tend to switch coats out so it's just part of the rotation. The shoes are pleather, but well put together. Working on no bare feet in this house

Nope, through Alice Collections.

It really depends on what time you order and when Alice placed the order. And because I ordered the day of release (actually I asked Alice to put the listing up) I assume my order was high up in the queue.

i contacted them and he was received! i added on his normal head and some hands later sp they were going to wait for that. i requested they send him first so excited!

 

I'm still waiting on getting my shipping notice from Ringdoll for Hua Cheng, I cant wait to have him home... I'll have to wait and see if Xie Lian goes back up again to get him home as well ( which works out so i can save back up again for him if he's rereleased again )

 

My Baldwin shipped and should be here today or tomorrow!

 

I forgot to ask if our recent Baldwin recieverd had blank dolls or got special parts

The masks on the shoulder are attached with magnetics. I kinda wish they were hooks or clasps like the other ring doll sets are. But that is really my only complaint. His big chest armor had to be shipped in a second box!

Compared to other ring doll sets its pretty straight forward. I only have 2 dolls from Ring Doll but I also have Anubis's outfit and Ashford 3.0 outfit. And I really hated figuring putting Ashford outfit on. Jia Xu's outfit isn't aweful. So Baldwin is really easy. Getting his crown on with the white dresses was annoying.

His shoulder 'masks' have magnets. So you have to put them under the sleeves when you first put them on. Not sure why they did that when in the past everything else clips or attaches to something. I don't like it because it risks rubbing a magnet on a paper white doll. ALSO the large chest armor, you have to take the head off to put it on and it kinda limits the movement of the head a bit.

You have to put the cross guard on the sword but its easy and sturdy.

He is just heavy, and Ring Doll sends their doll's wired. So if you are not used to heavy dolls or have problems that make moving large dolls difficult it could be hard at first. He is also SUPER squeaky. My other Ring Doll wasn't squeaky when he arrived.

I got around to opening my Baldwin IV fullset today and it's honestly so beautiful . Def the new fav in my collection I like him better without the mask and I might also change out the wig later. But man oh man those armoured hands are SHARP the fingers cut me up good lol

I got mine 2 days ago from Alice collections. Although I haven't gotten the chest piece yet? For some reason they separated the armor with DHL

Guess it was the very last piece and wasn't allowed on the truck XD

yeah i had the same issue! it comes in it's own box with a lot of styrofoam so it doesn't get damaged. it made sense when i received it

Hua Chung is almost home! He's waiting to be delievered on thursday! ( He's on a vacation hold with DHL cause I'm outta town atm )

 

To be frank, I sent a lil message and then I got tracking numbers next day. My order had another doll so I was checking to see if they would come together or separate since I had thought they would have very different production times

 

I sent an email this morning. If I'm lucky, the same will happen and I'll get a tracking number soon.

 

Hua Cheng arrived two weeks ago but I haven't gotten the chance to open him up. I plan to make an unboxing video soon though. I just need to find some time.

what’s the average wait these days at RD?

 

I think I waited 5 months for Yiling Laozu (paid in full to RD directly), but waited less for LAN Wangji. I think I only waited 3 months for him, but I paid for him with a long layaway, again directly with RD. Other LWJ dolls were already arriving to their homes by the time I paid off mine. Both shipped within whatever the time period is that they quote on their site though. And they shipped to me very quickly via DHL.

Alpha sure is an intense doll. He looks enormous!! I hope you enjoy him when he comes home.

 

I did noticed him on the top. What size did you get him? He is amazing looking.

 

Ahhhhh that is so much faster. In 2019, their shipping took like 6-9 months from the order date, so I was prepared to hunker down for a long wait. Good to know they still use DHL though! Their shipping quote was pretty brutal, so I went through AC for free shipping even though the wait through dealers can be a tad longer.

He isssss! I’m so excited to see him in person! I grabbed the 70cm, because my collection has an upper limit of 79cm (no one is allowed to be taller than the AU queen of hell) and I didn’t want to risk the 75 being more like 78 with the special feet! I grabbed him in WS with electroplating so that I don’t have to silver-leaf all those body parts. Well worth the money too.

 

Yeah I think it was $80 each to get mine shipped to the US. I’d never bought from RD before, but went for it based on a friend’s experience getting her tgcf dolls from them.

I cannot even imagine owning dolls taller than these boys. You have an -80cm- one?! Wow

 

She's 79CM in flat feet, and she's a soom mecha angel, which I don't think have been sold since 2012! I almost wonder if Soom will bring them back, becasue MA ladies would be right in scale with some of the beefy 75+CM guys in the market right now!
