Wait Times Ringdoll wait times?

Jan 19, 2020

    1. I have a question about the shipping time for Ringdoll. I've heard good things about the wait time and bad things. From, "my doll came faster than expected", to "my doll came a little late." And finally "still waiting..."
I have also heard the average wait time if nothing goes bad is ~6 months.

For the owners who have ordered their dolls from Ringdoll, how was the wait time?
      I'm a complete newbie. :3nodding:

    2. Hello, I'm still waiting for my doll, but from what I know "the fastest" should be 5 months for this company (You have to be super lucky). "the longest" I have seen is 14 months by the way...

In my case, I just hope my doll will come safely without defect and had a nice face up like promo picture. So I'll waiting silently.

Hope you have luck on your order.

    3. It's only been 51 days since I ordered him.
I hope my doll comes safe and sound too. I've heard stories from BJD owners about the face up being wrong, scratched, or just messy- like.. smeared. I can't imagine what happened to that doll, but maybe water damage.

But yes, let's hope both of our dolls come safely.

      @AirimirOfGondor

I'm still having trouble finding my way around the site, and finding correct forums. Trying my best though-:huh?:

    4. I believe 6-12 months is a basic waiting time for Ringdoll.
And yes, their faceup look a bit difference from the promotion photos, depends on your luck.

    5. @mugenkaze
All the actual pictures I've seen of Ashford Evo• face up looked nice, it's just- how lucky will I be?

    6. The waits can go way longer than they quote, 120-180 business days once production starts. I just put in a layaway on a preorder for one of their dolls and the pre order ends in March. Coincidentally, I finish paying in March (when production starts) so it feels like I’m waiting longer due to the pre order ^-^’’

Some factors I’ve seen go into play on the quality and times are the skin color and popularity of the doll. Tan skins generally take them longer. If a doll is extremely popular (ie. characters) the faceup is more prone to imperfections and will also take longer. If the clothing is elaborate and you order a full set, wait times are also longer.

    7. I ordered Ashford Evo• in NS, basic doll with a faceup.
I have heard that wheat-skin(?) Takes longer? Something about the different skin shades take longer.

      • x 1
    8. Yeah something about the different skins just takes them longer. I’m not sure if it’s because there’s less of the resin and they need to order it etc but I’ve seen people get their orders of NS before people who ordered wheat get a notification on theirs being shipped out. Congrats on the Ashford! He’s wonderful and I’ve heard good about his faceups

    9. He will be my first doll. My first, ~70cm doll. I saw videos online explaining it was 8 months for them. Some videos weren't in english, but they reviewed the doll and he looked amazing.
I do remember one review, not in english, said his outfit felt a little cheap? His shoes were good, his little hat was good bit his jacket felt cheap.

I didnt buy a full set, I bought a basic doll + face up.
My thought on the skin shades is that NS is probably a lot more common so they stock up on that one more than the other two? :huh?:

    10. One of my hangups when deciding to go with Ringdoll besides the wait time, was the quality of the clothing I’d receive. I ordered Wo Long (fullset) he’s one of the newer dolls and there was a focus on the quality of his clothing. Having missed my dream doll the year before, I thought he was perfect.

Since you’ve got the basic doll with faceup it would be easier for them to pack him. If you’ve seen the packing videos, it’s a time consuming process. Not to say it won’t take up to the 10-11 months I’m personally expecting, but 8 months doesn’t sound too off the table. Who knows, you might be lucky enough to wait 6~7 months!

    11. I actually have set my phone to remind me when 6 months have been reached. The same with 8, I am very patience as you can tell.
I think my next doll will be from Loongsoul.

    12. @Crow Demon I don't know if you've seen my box opening thread here, but I ordered an Ashford EVO fullset and I'm very happy with him.The faceup in particular is stunning, and looking at other people's Ashfords it seems like the faceups are consistently good, so hopefully yours will be too! The only real negative was that it took 10 months for me to get him.

I don't think they stock up on dolls, necessarily; it's more that other skin colors might be harder to make and that's why they take longer. I know they've had massive problems with the wheat skin in particular, with some people waiting more than a year (which...I don't get because the wheat skin barely seems any different from the NS to me, but oh well).

    13. @bickazer
Yes I've read it already, the part I remember the most is "He's as white as the foam around him" or something like that.

I don't remember this clearly, but since I order a basic set + face up, wod I get eyes with him? I can't seem to remember.

    14. I ordered a blank Tang Ge in September 2019 and I’m still waiting. I hadn’t known their wait times were so long because I was just starting to dip my toes into the bjd stratosphere. I don’t know if I’ll order again, as I’ve not seen any positive feedback for them on DOA or on my other doll groups.

it’s really unfortunate because I’ve wanted the past 3 dolls they’ve released :|

      • x 1
    15. They take a long time to get orders out, since this is my first time ordering with them, this will probably be the last time I order from them.
If they were more organized with taking orders, in my opinion, and again, took their time especially with the face up or body blushing, maybe I would want to buy from them more.
I've missed 4 dolls from them that I wanted; they had limited orders of Ciel Phantomhives and Sebastian Michaelis. Then lan wangji and wei wuxian.

      • x 1
    16. Ugh I wanted Wangji and Wuxian so much. I just couldn’t accept the possibility of waiting more than a year and ending up unsatisfied with poor quality dolls. The feedback for them this past year has been so miserable and I just don’t want to have to go through that as well. I wonder if people are still ordering as much now or if they’ll see a decline in sales. If not, I don’t see them ever fixing their crummy services.

    17. I think once the period for Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian dolls have passed, it might be easier going. I heard they had thousands of them? It seems as though they’ve bitten off more than they can chew haha. I’m seeing many LWJ owner photos and he looks gorgeous I’m jealous >_> Again though, I ordered knowing the wait times are a thing. I agree that having fewer orders might help. Definitely decide if the wait time is worth what you want before buying from them XD Otherwise you’ll probably be too upset to enjoy finally receiving your doll.

You’re on month 6 so at least you can say the wait is more than halfway over ^*^. Have you asked for an update recently? I feel that their customer service is very limited, but it’s my fault for falling in love with their dolls and refusing any other for my first. What are some other companies that have caught your interest?

    18. I haven’t emailed; I know it will probably take forever. I ordered through a dealer so worst case scenario I can ask them.

Ringdoll was my first love of bjd sculpts, unfortunately. I really love the dolls they release. I think second would be Fairyland due to how magical everything feels and looks. I also like Asleep Eidolon dolls but I haven’t ordered anything from them yet. I like more “mature” face sculpts over like child sculpts.

I am also super interested in what artists on ig are doing, like rap1993, a popular banned user, and fayewood. I have a rap1993 paid off, just waiting shipment now.

      What about you?

    19. Before all the crazy with LWJ and WWX shipments, I actually got replies from RD within two-three hours. Add the current virus going around and the extra work, I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re a mess.

I also prefer more mature sculpts along with the larger scales. 60~70cm. Fairyland is definitely at the top of catching my attention for female sculpts they’re just so beautiful. I also like DollChateau and Loongsoul, both have made me do a double take. I’m waiting to pay off my RD before I consider buying more. There have been moments where I see a Yo-SD and go Oh, I want that. Those tend to be from Korean BJD companies as I love their heads.

    20. I ordered a Hui full set back in November. I've been told a year wait is average from others who have purchased from Ringdoll in the past. I don't really think about it much and figure if I'm lucky he might arrive during summer. This is the last I will order from them though.

      • x 1
    21. If they put out something I just absolutely need, I’ll just do a year layaway. That way, it won’t feel so bad? Maybe? I could just be hoping.

    22. I am still waiting for my Great Mentor Hui ... I ordered him in April 2019...
      I have the exact same concern with you! some member in other bjd chat group told me, at least a year to wait ;w;
and now, the coronavirus matter, I think I have to wait longer...

    23. I am also waiting on a Great Mentor Hui, and my first doll from them was Wei Wuxian and I was honestly devastated by how poor Wei's face up was. My wait for him was 13ish months, (and his face up was completed in August with a xmas arrival) but I was expecting that he had over 1k units sold and according to the Ringdoll livestream (I watched it) for him they were expecting a massive amount of orders.

Ringdoll has been making and bringing fullsets to doll events and that was enough to aggravate me to never wanting to order from them again. You have tons of customers waiting for dolls approaching 10+ month waits and insted of fulfilling those orders :doh I ordered a promotional Hui so again I am not expecting him yet but still the wait could have been shorter had the order of orders been followed.
Customer service is average, and they have no issue talking to you about your order made through a dealer once you can answer specific questions about it. My last communication with them was with Cherry and I did not appreciate her lack of customer service. It sucks because I like the sculpts but I can't justify the current issues that could be avoided with proper organizational structure.
      :veinVent over lol

    24. I averaged the wait time based on the waitlist on ringdoll's page, it comes to 10 months. (and I think that's if you are lucky)

I ordered Alice 01 full set on Dec5 so guess I'm 30% there. Also I'm pessimistic that with the virus it will probably get more delayed.:sigh

    25. My experience with them was for 6 months. Now I consider myself lucky after seeing the comments above...But I will never order from them again. There has been loads of complains regarding their waiting time in China and overseas now. It seems they have no intention for improvement. :doh

    26. Since it’s been almost a year this post was made, I’m curious to know how long it took overall to get your dolls (to those of you who commented before)?
Personally, it took me 1 year and 1 month to get mine from them.
Thankfully my dealer was super nice, and I messaged her once every three months to know the status of my order.

      • x 1
    27. It took me 9 months and the doll was horrible. One leg was longer than the other and her resin was so thin that she looked almost translucent. I sold her the same day I unboxed her.

    28. As an update to my previous post, Hui's full-set would have taken 10 months but I opted to add his extra accessories at the last minute so it took another month. All in all, he arrived almost exactly one year later. Quality of everything is really good and I'm pleased. My previous post said I wouldn't buy from them again but I did end up buying Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian but they were in-stock. No quality issues there either.

    29. I'm still waiting on my blank K head. Ordered February 15th 2020. One day he'll come.

Edit: He finally arrived on October 29th, 2021. That's a year and 8 months later. I'm not pleased with the company, but the head is perfect.

    30. I still didn't receive mine. It's will be 1 year and a month tomorrow. My doll was shipped to my dealer already but there's no update about any shipping to me even they had an email to confirmed my address last month. I guess it maybe February or March... :|

    31. I ordered a blank K head and pair of hands on Nov 11, 2019 through BJDivas. I asked them in Dec 2020 if they happened to have any updates (a couple months after I finished my layaway (that also had a Dollshe)). They said they hadn't heard anything, but sent an inquiry. Ringdoll told them it'd ship soon and didn't clarify when soon was when BJDivas asked them. BJDivas did tell me that Ringdoll likes to drag their feet on sending them blank parts orders for some reason.
So, who knows when I'll get them. Hopefully soon though, since it's just a blank head and pair of hands lol

    32. I'm sorry for beating a dead horse but wanted to give caution about Ringdoll in their non popular color (tan) and how they handel replacement part when they forget to send it in an original order.

My tan heel feet took about 16 months to arrive. 16 months. They didn't send it with my original doll order, and took a lot of messaging back and forth with my dealer and Ringdoll for them to ship one pair of heel feet. I even suggested at the 1 year mark that I get a refund and cancel order for the heel feet and they said no... they rather keep my $25 and made me wait another 6 months before I finally got it. I want to add, they were notified of the missing feet BEFORE Wei Wuxian was released and before the production time got longer.

Quality wise, it's all random and doesn't justify the 1 year wait time. I had about 4 dolls (3 all ordered arrived before my heel feet arrived). 50% of them had some type of issues, missing part, broken part, I'll fitting clothing, and a fullset with craft foam as the sole. I'm not even joking, I was shocked of how detailed everything of the outfit was and then felt the shoe bottom being craft foam.

    34. My experience is that my doll took 5 months to arrive and I ordered in in January. Their customer service was pretty good and they replied to my questions quickly. I asked them 3 or 4 times about how my doll is going and they are pretty good at getting back. I told them to ship the doll here before June because my birthday is the first of June. They shipped the doll on 20th of May and he arrived on 2nd of June, missed my birthday by 1 day. But I am not disappointed at all, the quality seems pretty good.

    35. I know it’s been up awhile but I just wanted to share my experience and thoughts on ordering from Ring Doll just in case anyone stumbles across this. I posted on the company review too.
I ordered Ashford EVO directly from Ring Doll on June 25, 2021 and he was delivered August 6, 2021 through DHL. I too heard that the wait is long, anywhere up to a year. But I think he came at a decent wait time because he’s not a time limited edition or a new released doll. Also definitely communication is key. I hate to sound like I’m nagging but I send them a friendly email once every two weeks, just to make sure they didn’t forget about me and my order, asking how is the progress and how they are. Hehe~
So far so good I’m very satisfied with their products.

    36. How long you wait for lan wangji in stock ?

    37. I ordered a discontinued head in March of this year and I am moving next month, so I will have to update them with my new address to a different city. This is such a pain in the *&^!!! I hope it does not take a year just to get 1 head.

    38. Anyone made any order from Ringdoll black Friday sale? They promised the doll will be shipped within 15 days. I just made order there last week for 2 basic dolls and 1 fullset and now my order has been shipped and will be at my door next week. I'm very excited !!! Everyone should've take advantage of it.

    39. Yes, I ordered two blank dolls and an outfit less than a week ago and I already got one of them. Quality is good so far. I would never preorder from them though.

    40. Omg seriously, three dolls in one package wow.. Omg how lucky you are! I just made my order last week as well (ノ*゚ー゚)ノ

    41. I thought that they'll be in one big package with each in their own box but they all came in 3 packages. I'm so glad that they all made it safely to my apartment but it worries me that they could've been lost.

    42. Congrats... Did u get the medal/coa?

    43. @Nikki11nc Not that person, but my two Black Friday sale dolls both came with the medal.

    44. @Nikki11nc they came with medals which I thought that only basic doll has but my sister bought Zhouyu military version the fullset and it came with a medal too. I guess ringdoll don't have coa.

    45. How long for now it taking Ringdoll to make a doll? I read the thread but do not understand :frownyblush:

    46. I just joined their event on black friday and got it within a month. I think you should ask them first, if your doll is ready I guess you can get it sooner (without accessories/basic doll). It will be better if your doll is ready for this event season.

    47. Oh, well, I really should try to ask them about how long does it take now to make and ship the doll. Thank you :3nodding:

    48. I had contacted them with a few questions before buying, but until now, I didn't get an answer. :( (Since December 21)

So I ordered about Alice's Collection. And they told me waiting time could be from 2 month up to 9.

    49. Chiming in since I recently reviewed my order history from a while back.
Its about 3 months in my experience for a uncle sized male doll. But its been a few years.

      2013 = 83 days. (~2.5 months)
      2016 = 93 days. (~3 months)

I just ordered 55cm Jade full set, so I'll let ya know.

    50. Adding in my order wait times for 2024, my Cheshire fullset shipped exactly two months after I paid off my four month layaway :)
