Resin Comparison Ringdoll Resin Matches

Bump, I want a skin comparison of RD and Angell-Studio also Asleep Eidolon NS and WS

 

Can anyone do a comparison between a new Ringdoll pure normal and old Delf/Luts circa 07? I'm attempting to find a body to match a old Delf head.

 

I should be receiving a Senior Delf with 2007 resin (though a little yellowed) within the next week or so, I can compare with him with my RD when he gets here.

By eye, it actually looks pretty close, I'll say, colour-wise, maybe a 90%-95% match? It's a LOT closer than RD's resin is compared to today's Luts resin. The translucency in RD's resin is probably the most noticeable difference between the two.
Again, the Luts resin is probably a bit yellowed from his original form but he's in great condition so I can't imagine he's yellowed very much at all. But that may affect the difference between the two a little as well.

If you want a picture in natural daylight, I'll try to get one tomorrow.

 

A daylight photo would be great. They do look very close. I think you can get rd in urethane resin as well, but i could be mistaking it for another company.

not sure if it's still actual to anybody, but.... SOOM normal matches not bad, IMHO, the same is for the proportions of RD 70+male body towards SOOM SG Dia's head.

It's no problem at all! Since there's a new boy in the house, I'm more than eager to take pictures of him, lol.
Anyway, daylight photos! I decided it'd be easier to put the Luts head on the Ringdoll body, to give you a better idea of what yours might end up looking like.

So it looks like in natural sunlight, the difference is a bit more noticeable. It's still not that bad, though. If you're able to get urethane resin for a RD body, it might match a bit more, or a bit of yellowish blushing on the head could work too. I hope that gives you more help!

You're welcome! I'm glad I could help! I don't think it'd be enough of a difference to bother me either. The photos really emphasize the difference but with the naked eye, it's a lot harder to tell.

Aww, thanks! He's actually my girlfriend's (an early Valentine's/anniversary present because he arrived earlier than I expected), but she knows how much I love to take pictures and showcase all of our dolls, lol.

 

They've changed their resin in the past year or so, it's not so translucent now. I have a Ringdoll Andrew I received in September if you like I can do some photos for you.

 

Ardese (Crystal) was received in December of 2013 so his resin should be the most recent resin they use now. But more ref pics are never a bad thing!

 

I am unsure if anyone has done this. I do know of the white skin comparison with IoS looks good. Now the question is does IoS normal skin matches RD normal skin?

If anyone can help with this. That would be great!

 

The RD white seems to go ivory rather quickly. I have a Norman Lightside bought secondhand, and he's a definite ivory, not white at this point.


A RD Nair head from 2012 in normal was surprisingly a match for a 2011 Volks SDGr body I had (lol, he bumped the Migidoll head that was supposed to get the body!). Forgive the unruly, too-white-blond temporary wig and eyes:


December NYC sunlight for both pics, which has paled down the NS somewhat.

 

Does Ringdoll ws or normal match either of spirit dolls colors? I want to put a ringdoll head on spirit doll or other body because I dont like how stick-like ringdoll is, i want something more natural. I also worry about fitting. Help would be appreciated!

I'm trying to find female jointed hands for my normal skin Wagashi but because ringdoll doesn't do female jointed hands i have to rely on other companies. Do any of you know any companies that offer female jointed hands that have a similar resin colour to ringdoll?

Both photos are in natural light. This photo shows better that the Dollshe pale tan is darker than Ringdoll's tan, though they are close.

 

Can anyone show me Ringdoll grey skin comparison with Dika Doll grey and Illusion spirit grey or any other grey skins? Thank you!

I just received a new IoS Sezz and I'd really like to put him on a Ringdoll 72 grown body, but I'm just not sure about the resin match! (thanks in advance)

 

I second the vote for Ringdoll Grey resin comparison! I really want some jointed hands for my Frankie.

 

Would anyone be able to show me a comparison between Ringdoll's pure normal resin and Granado's white and new normal resins?

I'm Looking for jointed hands for my new normal skinned ringdoll teens. One's a boy, one is a girl. Any suggestions for a company with a close resin match that makes jointed hands? It doesn't have to be exact, just close enough is good too. Thanks in advance!

 

Seconding AngelicLies' request. I'm trying to get a pair for my boy RD teen as well, and possibly another pair for a male RD grown. Any suggestions?

So according to sales staff I've contacted, DK jointed hands WILL show a definite difference in resin colour, and so will all the other jointed hands in the market. Have not confirmed which will have the closest match, but I'll get a DK jointed hands for my 1/3 boy and post up some pictures of the resin match once I have them (it'll take at least three months though, lol).

 

Alright, 3/5 of my Ringdoll teen boys now have dikadoll jointed hands so I figure I'd just add my 2 cents here.

Here is Ringdoll normal (not the new pure normal, but not the old old translucent normal either) with Dikadoll normal yellow hands:


And here is Ringdoll white skin (again, not the old translucent, but not the newest) with brand new Dikadoll normal white hands:


From what I've seen in photos of the new pure normal skin, it's very light and slightly pink...which is exactly what the dikadoll normal white is. It's not a true white and it's really really pretty. (personally I'm hoping it mellows out quickly so it matches my Spencer better and he doesn't have to wear his fullset arm warmers all the time xD)

Both boys in these photos were made in 2011.

Dikadoll normal white matches insanely perfectly close to Ringdoll Pure normal.

Like it takes a reeeaallllyy close eye to see a difference.
Interestingly enough, the match is close enough for an older dollzone white too!

For an earlier request, here is Ringdoll's old NS (left) compared with Granado's new NS (right)



The match looks almost perfect here. Granado is just a touch pinker than Ringdoll, which is more like Volks yellow, up close.
I very much miss the old NS, and apparently I have to use Ringdoll's color adjustment system to get it. It's not the cost I'm worried about; they want me to mail them a sample of their own old NS like this headcap... I kinda wanna ask, just use one of your older dolls and save me shipping. xD

 

Because different batches of resin, especially those created at didferent times of the year, have widely different rates of aging or color changes. They're just being a good company and making sure they match the exact shade you have, not come up with something only 60 to 80% close, and then have an unsatisfied customer.

And, Yup, the difference can be that much. I had several dolls from each of several companies, and as time passes, they're all over the place.

 

Hm! Good point there.. I'm just looking for the old formula in general, y'know the one directly before the change. But we'll see, thanks for your input. :3

I don't have a doll in Ringdolls new NS yet. However I do have both the new and the old white skin. The head on the left is the new white skin while the complete doll is White skin from 2013. I hope this will be helpful:

He's off getting face-uped and what not, but here's my Ada-dan Harlan WS (matching Volks Semi-white, October 2015) on a RD Sunshine body (ws, September 2015) before he went off to get worked on.

I also have my Miracledoll Vic (WS, December 2014) on the same body in these photos.



Not an amazing match for either, but the proportions are great on both and I love this body either way.

Anyone have a Ringdoll grown head and a Dollmore Model body they can throw together? I'd love the Model body for my RD head...but I'd like to know how it works before hitting that "buy" button.

Don't know if anyone's done it yet, but Iplehouse White Skin and Ringdoll Normal Skin are an incredible match!

It's second hand but the person before me who owned it said it was only a year or so old and hadn't been used at all (just sitting in a box since they got it).

This is a Ringdoll RGM-4 body in tan from 2015.
The head is Volks Ruby in ebony from 2007.
The extra hand is Iplehouse EID hand in real skin from 2015.

Hey guys, I'm looking for a comparison between Switch resin and the new Ringdoll resin. I think the look would fit well for my character, but I don't want the match to be really bad.

I've taken some pictures of my 2011 White Skin Osiris on my 2015 Ring Doll Type 2 body (Lucifer Arios) in NORMAL skin... Yeah xD..

here you go:









As you can see, the resin match is pretty good, Osiris is a bit bubble headed on this body because he has a big head and the body has a narrow neck... I don't think the head has yellowed because I have a brand new Infernale and they look pretty much the same color!

Help ! I need a resin match for Luts brown skin and Ringdoll's tan. I'm hoping for the best ehehe o3o.

 

I'd like to see Luts brown and Ringdoll tan together, too. I don't think the mach is good, but it'd be great to look at the actual difference. Anyone, please? ^^

 

Does anyone happen to have Granado and Ringdoll tan to compare? I'm guessing from the Iple RS comparison Granado would be considerably lighter than Ringdoll, right?

 

I'm too sick for picture taking but the info might help so I will offer it up. I bought a brand new Edward head from Denver Doll. He was a strong paper white, so much so that I was daunted by the glare. Mirodoll's white seemed like it might work and I liked the idea of a buff body to balance out the pretty face so I ordered him one. It turned out to be a very nice match and since then they've both mellowed just enough that it's near perfect. I like Edward on that body a lot. The pics on the RD site make him look so ethereal. But in reality my Edward isn't quite so much so and the Miro body makes him even less so. My Edward is a vampire, not the sparkly kind, laugh. He's a bit of a 60's Brit mod type. I had the Hammer Horror boys in mind when I was planning him. Christoper Neame and Simon Ward in particular...
