Resin Comparison Ringdoll Resin Matches

I hope it's ok for me to jump in here but I would love to see how the Ringdoll Dylan looks next to a Minifee. how does the resin and size match up? I would love if it was close enough for a hybrid! Thank you all.

 

For whatever it's worth:

Without a flash,
and then with a flash.

That's the Ringdoll Kid body (MSD sized, whatever it's called) lying across everybody else,
and then left to right, we have a DIM default arm, Unidoll default legs, A Pipos Bao Beige head, Soom NS legs and on the end Fairyland Minifee legs.
Sorry everybody's got blushed ankles making it harder, but the end results are that Soom's NS resin is a good match, and the Minifee resin is the best match.

I'll have to strip Scythe (the Minifee) to his whities and see how he compares up next to the Ringdoll's body size wise. I think the Ringdoll is just a touch taller and slimmer than he is, but my body I have is also currently headless.

 

OMG if you could get some side by side pics of the ringdoll and minifee that would be awesome!!!!! Thanks a ton for what you've posted so far.

I've also got poses by the Ringdoll that I will stick in this subforum under another thread, for people who wanna see how they pose.

 

Here's my Scythe standing next to the Ringdoll "MSD" sized body. Scythe has been blushed a bit- their resin matches in color rather closely, but the Ringdoll resin is kiiiind of translucent. I'm not sure what they did to get that very subtle effect, or if it'll last after I use MSC.
Hybrids with heads + bodies should be successful.

 

this may be a stupid question but are ringdolls french resin? The slightly translucent thing got me thinking.

They say "Environmental protection resin." I have NO idea what that is.

 

It's not french resin ^.^ man I really need to get some snaps of my Boy, but I haven't had five seconds of spare time.

the Yellow skin Ringdoll is definatly more yellow than old delf resin.

I love the joint design of the Ringdoll guys... So I was thinking about replacing my L-bi girl's body with a Ringdoll body (they told me there will be a girl body soon )
So is there any chance any Ringdoll resin color will match Unoa?

 

Hmm, to me ringdoll IS french resin. It is very translucent, but then again, the info says that it's that environmental protection resin, which is gibberish to me .__.
I can take a snapshot today from my Dylan against my minifee shushu if you are still interested ^u^

Also, to me ringdoll resin matches somewhat Unoa. Maybe a little bit of blushing and you're ready to go. :3 Though if I'm wrong, please someone correct me.

Rosslyn, thank you for the pictures!! I was just hoping to clarify which skintone your doll is- the site lists "white", "pink" and "normal". I'm assuming he's in "normal" skin because it's definitely not pink or white, but I wanted to be sure! The other options might appeal to the less yellow-inclined (Sandra, for instance *wink wink*). I love the Dylan head, and it's on sale right now so I am sorely tempted... would love any other resin match pics!!

 

I'd really like to know if any of the Ringdoll resins match Crobidoll normal.

 

My boy Coyote is indeed the "normal" skin. I'm not sure what their pink or white would look like.

Ringdoll NS doesn't match my minifee Shiwoo at all. It's much more yellow than my Shiwoo.

 

does anyone know if AngellStudio french resin butter matches Ringdoll NS?

It certainly does look like French resin... *wonders how it would look with a Narin head* (I think probably!)

~Mimi~, just to clarify, is your Shiwoo natural skin? It looks like it might work with Ringdoll's pink or white resin.

they call their colors: white, pink and normal. but from comparison pics i've seen it would be more accurate to call the pink, ns-p, and the normal, ns-y.

I have asked Ringdoll website- but they don't know about Crobidoll-

Anyone know or have any pictures of a resin match of Ringdoll WS with Souldoll WS?
I have a body whitout a head and i love it so much that it desperatly needs a head.
Really like Valo, so if the match isnt to far off ...>w<

 

Ringdoll WS is not as white as Souldoll WS, Ringdoll WS is almost an exact match for Luts WS, I have a head from what is known as the "beauty green" period and it is dead on for my Ringdoll WS body, I also have a much newer head, also an incredible match. Ringdoll resin is translucent so matches a little more easily than most because it picks up a bit of colour off the head. Perhaps Blushing could bring these two together though.

basically they are excellent matches for Luts Delf, Feeple, and Soom. the Real skin lines up with NS, and the white skin lines up with BW. They are not great matches for luts RS

Yep, I have a NS Lu Wen on a Ringdoll body, it looks great, I also have a WS Ran, and compared him to several of my WS dolls, it is creepy how versatile he is

 

I was thinking of putting a Shao on a SDF girl body :3 Tho I'm still debating a bit between that or a Souldoll Celina a bit for that OC xD I had been leaning towards Celina cause I was unsure of the resin match (and the ringdoll body just wouldn't work for that OC) So we'll see now xD;;;;

Is the Ringdoll white skin is similar with the snow white ones ? I do not like snow skin, it looks like kid without blood.

 

Ringdoll white skin is actually sort of a moonglow color.

The head is Ringdoll white resin. The white body is sort of an ivory-white.

Because of the slight transparency in the Ringdoll resin, it has an otherworldly look.

the older ringdoll NS noes, (Pink and yellow) were far too coloured for my taste, thank god for the real skin version, much better colour blending

Since Ringdoll has now come out with a SD-girl body does anyone know of a good resin match for the high-heel feet? Ringdoll doesn't seem to sell high-heel feet.

Hello! First post, eep, how intimidating xD I was wondering if the Ringdoll normal skin matched at all with the ResinSoul normal skin colour? I love the Shao head but I'm not too sure if it would match nicely with the body.

 

Honestly, I wouldn't bother with a ResinSoul body >___>; I had one once, I couldn't even get it to stand....

 

Really? After a lot of reading about it from people who've owned one, the general impression I got was that after some re-stringing, they were pretty great o.o

 

Hm o___o;; All my experiences were fighting to get the body to just stand and really pull of any pose Dx I mean of course it's your choice, but with my experiences I would never buy a RS body ever again! I've have an easier time with BBB bodies :'D

 

I want to get a female twin for my Markus, and I really want her to wear high-heels a lot. So this Resin thing has been bugging me.

 

well I just bought some YID feet for my girl and they match NS luts girl perfectly, and from what I learned here luts and ringdoll NS match, sooooo if you're looking for NS, YID works!

Ringdoll has said they will be offering high heel feet in October.

 

Looking at their new promotional pictures for Wagashi style C and e-mailing the company, their normal feet seem to be able to wear some high heels. All the RD shoes seem to work, but I'm not sure about other companies boots and the like.

Ringdoll told me in an e-mail they would be releasing high heel feet in Oct. 2010. Obviously, it got delayed like many of the things they do. How delayed, I'm not sure. Maybe we'll see them in the spring?

Ringdoll is a smidgen yellower... it's such a small smidgen though...

And I'm pretty sure Ringdoll uses a Canadian resin, not French

 

Here's something that might help some people

Dollzone and B&G now use the same resin, and this appears to be their normal yellow, so there's a good idea for comparison.
And of course many are made to match volks so hopefully this gives a good reference.

I can tell you for a fact that is does not. Not at all. To the farthest left is a MNF Chloe in WS and on the farthest right is my boy in his WS, wearing a black and purple wig. She made my boy look sickly and yellow in comparison.

I don't know if this will help anyone, but B&G normal yellow skin isn't a bad match to Ringdoll normal skin in person. I can take a photo if anyone would like.

 

I have to get the headcap comparison pictures off my camera later, but I would say that in most lighting, Luts Delf WS matches ringdoll WS. The RD resin is a bit yellower, and more translucent (of course) but i`ve had a Dollgru head (which is made to match Luts Delf WS) on my RD body for a couple of weeks, and I quite like him there.

This is without any photoshopping, in artificial light. There is a difference, but it`s not THAT much. Depending on the lighting, sometimes the resin looks the same in photos.


I`ll take some pictures with my MNF when she gets here for comparison as well.

RD resin is by far the most yellowish, but it's not as noticeable in real life as it is in the pictures.

 

I'm getting a ringdoll pan and I don't really like his hands...other than jointed hands, does anyone have any idea which ones would work? I like pretty hands, but the resin and sizing must be right.

 

According to Ringdoll's response on their facebook, posted December 5th, there has indeed been a resin change and all future dolls will have opaque resin.

Question - "Do you know with what other resins match your resin colours?"
Ringdoll - "Now RD resin can match resin like other sister brand Spirits, AS, DZ, AE..."
