Am popping in to say "hello"! Everyone's dolls are so beautiful. I just received my first Ringdoll, a Dylan, and I couldn't be happier with him. I've been waiting to get a Ringdoll for the longest, and now I finally have one!

 

I love my ring doll! she can stand like no one else!

 

I took some pictures of my Valo the other day, and thought I'd share one. He has a new wig since the last time I posted him here!



There are a couple more shots of him in this gallery thread (below the Minifee pics.)

I love how the translucent resin photographs; it has a different quality to it than the solid resin. Does anyone know why they switched to the new resin? Was it a cost issue? Customer demand? Something else?

 

I'm pretty sure they switched because of 'customer demand'. Though I loved the old resin.

Chemcat, your Valo is lovely. What size eyes is he wearing?

 

Was going to ask the same! What size are his eyes? They look great on him.

I'd like to see pictures of Valo in 10mm and 12mm eyes, if someone has him, please.
And pictures of En in 12mm and 14mm eyes too, please.

I've read the entire thread and I'm a bit confused on wig and eyes measurements, on eyes especially.

 

Here's my Valo, Seth, wearing 12mm eyes.

 

Yanagi, my En, wearing 12mm glass eyes. I am very happy with the size.



He does tend to be on the small size of MSD wigs... Can't remember the measurement for sure, but my guess would be more of a 6-7 than a 7-8. He has kind of a small head, but it fits with his slimness.

It seems that 12mm is the best size for both Valo and En. By the way, both your boys looks wonderful, Valo is so cool and En is so cute! Can't wait to have mine! I already have chosen their names!

I'm also getting a "steampunk eye" (the ones with the gears inside) for Valo but the lower size is 14mm... but maybe it will only show more of the gears rather than the round area around them.
Well, when I'll have him here I'll post pictures for reference and I hope it will look good.

It might work well with an eye like that- less of the color around may show, and it might depending on Valo's eyewells sit a little further back than a smaller eye would, but since it isn't quite a standard eye and thus would be less prone to 'looking off' if the size isn't 'perfect', my guess is that it will be just fine.

 

I'm sorry I didn't get back to you, applecandy! My Valo is wearing 12 mm Safrindoll acrylics and a 6-7 Leekeworld wig. (And thanks for all the compliments, everyone!)

A clockwork eye would look really cool with his bionic arm - are you getting the arm with your Valo?

I think the same! The eye will show more of the gears! I think it will look fine. And since it not necessary has to match the other eye, it can be in a different size (14mm vs 12mm).

Don't worry, and thank you! Yes, I'm getting him with the mecha arm! I'll get the eye with gears in silver color so it will match his arm. I can't wait!
I'll give Valo the other eye olive green, and black long straight hair, his skin will be white. En will have short wavy blond hair and dark brown eyes on normal skin.

 

Applecandy: If you want to see how a 14mm gear eye will look in Valo ahead of time, I can take photos. My Ringdoll Don has a gear eye, but in gold. :P
Your boys sound like they will be amazing. *w* I really love En too. I certainly wouldn't mind owning one in the future! (he's just too adorabel~)

I might have seen the pictures of your Don with his golden gear eye somewhere on the forum. Don is one that captured my attention from the start. It's quite hard to choose between Don only or Valo with En.

hey Peeps I'm looking at ring dolls and i love Dylans face... i would love to find a body that i can hybridize with, my Character that i am trying to create is female who disguises her self as male... so the body needs to be a small/ almost flat chested female body, and the 1/4 ring doll female body just doesn't look like it will work... any suggestions for a body that might work? it looks like the luts normal skin matches the normal skin from RD but does any company match the white skin?

 

I think the Aidolls match the skin tone pretty well!

 

I got a Ringdoll (the Rebecca Msd/ 1/4/ kid-sized sculpt) a while back, and I'd say I'm pretty pleased with her, she poses really well and her stringing is held together with a steel ring, (which I've found I MUCH prefer to the S-hook, I'm always afraid the strings might slip free OTL) she was tightly strung but not so much that she pinched or snapped too badly, and the resin was free of bubbles or patchy areas. I wish she could lean a little further back, but overall I'd say she's my favorite.

 

Here's a picture of Syni, my Ringdoll Rebecca, The sweater vest is a groovygirls blouse I cut the sleeves off, and the hat was just cobbled together out of some felt I had lying around. The phone was off ebay, but I can't really remember where, and I haven't had much luck tracking down the seller. She has the 14mm eyes she came with, and the wig is actually sized for a YoSD/Tiny sized doll, just held on by the hat.

She really is cute! I like all the colors and the accessories.
I still can't figure what size they need for their wigs.

 

I found that 6/7 wigs fit my Dylan pretty well, but I bought a wig cap anyway to ensure that the wigs stay on.

 

Hey all! I just thought I'd pop in here and say hello.

I just got my Ringdoll Dylan, whom I bought from another user on the MP. I'm currently waiting for his wig and his proper eyes to arrive. He's a a gorgeous little doll and I'm really impressed with his posing abilities.

Anyway, his name is Radek and as soon as he gets some hair, I'll post a photo of him.

Heya folks... I got a lovely Ringdoll Rebecca for the Christmas season as a gift. So far she is one of my favorites as far as posing and body shape go... She is definitely a work in progress for me, and I plan on making her a creepy scary girl. Here she is, eyeless, and quite creepy! I've named her Beatrice

 

She's quite scary already! And cute at once. I also like the old fashioned looking dress you gave her.

Are you planning to give her some kind of special eyes and modify her face up?

 

I'd like to share a photo with you from my lovely boy Haru, who comes from the last series of Dylan, before Ringdoll discontinued this sculpt.


I just love him so much I bought an extra head, but I'm not sure what I'm going to do with. I was wondering getting a twin for him, either a boy or girl, but Haru's character is an only child, so it would be strange for a twin to pop-up unexpectedly (Somehow the idea of having a girl version of him fascinates me (pretty girl clothes, yay!), but I can't imagine the girl's character so far.
I was also wondering I'd modify the head with a more mature expression, and buying a taller (46-50 cm) MSD body for it, creating an image of a 15-year-old kid instead of the 13-year-old one he is now. But I'm not sure, what do you think?

 

He really looks cute and sweet. Is that a custom make up? You took a beautiful photo of him! It really looks like he's alone in town, on a bridge, looking at nothing but his thoughts.
You might use the other head for a girl, as you said, maybe an elder sister or a far cousin? or a doppleganger? It's nice to play with twins!

 

Thank you! It's the official A-style makeup, and I absolutely like it, too bad it was damaged around the eyes (I can't see how... I always use a face protector...), so I'll probably going to send this head for modding/re-painting, and use the replacement head, if it's going to have the same make-up, not the B style.

A cousin, or a doppleganger sounds like a great idea! I can think about that for a while. I ordered the head from Mint on Card, and they said that Ringdoll won't ship it until all the December orders are finished, so it may take another 2-3 months... Plenty of time to work on Haru's "twin" character

 

Well, keep us updated on what you will decide. I'm quite curious to see your twins!

But can someone please answer my question?

I've been really interested about Ringdoll Rebecca for two years now but I've never had the courage to buy her since I'm afraid of the yellowing : / Ringdoll dolls seem to yellow so fast and like old naraes? to _really_ yellow. I've tried to ask my local collectors but they seem to be very... dodging about the subject so they never really answered my question : /
And I'd really prefer the opinion of an owner (to a company opinion) since owner can tell how they photograph and how they look irl.

I've tried to dig up information but I can't find pictures that I'd prefer : / So I figured that I'd ask here:

1) How fast do you feel that your ringdoll yellows?
2) Does it bother you?
3) Do you have pictures of a new ringdoll (like box openings with realistic colors?) and current ringdoll (one-year-old, two-years-old?)
4) How big is the difference between the photo of your ringdolll and the one you hold in your hand? When it comes down to yellowing. For example. My very old minifee was pure white in every photo but in my hands she was butter/creamy yellow.

^I ask these because same doll can look normal skin, white skin, yellowed or even tan in the pictures and this has been very confusing to me ó_O

Maaru, I don't know how helpful my answers will be. My first doll was a Rebecca, and she has yellowed quite a bit, but she was the old environmental resin. In any case, I didn't take care of her as well as I should have; she got a lot of sunlight and heat. I've had her for close to 3 years now. She's clearly mellowed, but it seems I always imagine her worse off than she really is! Given how I treated her, I think she's held up well.

My Kyo is NS, and I think she's yellowed, but since she's natural skin, I don't have anything to compare herto. She's been in a box for most of her is lifespan with me, so she hasn't been exposed to light or sun much at all. Still, she seems to have yellowed a surprising amount. Nonetheless, all my other dolls are WS, so I have nothing to measure her by...

I retired both my Ringkids a while ago, but I recently realized how much I miss both of them. So, they're off the shelf and getting loved again. Kyo has finally claimed a name. She is called Kiss. My Rebecca is still struggling with her identity, but right now she's being called Nana.

Just hopping in to inquire as to if there's any photos of the posing abilities of the boy body somewhere. I've searched for about a half hour now without finding anything. I'm looking for a slim male doll to be a character of mine, but I'm very picky when it comes to posing. I can't seem to find photos anywhere other than the stock photos!

I fell in love with Wagashi (especially the D style) but I'm having a hard time finding pictures of her. I'm thinking of getting her soon. It looks like she has a little bit of a smile, which is what I want, but I want to be sure. Is anybody out there hiding pics of their Wagashi??

 

I just got my secondhand Kyo. He feels a lot lighter and smaller than my other MSDs, and his resin feels odd, but he's growing on me!

 

Congrats on getting your Kyo! Ringdoll do tend to be smaller than other MSDs. My boy is actually wearing trousers that are too small for my Resinsoul mini girl on the single-jointed body, to give some idea as to the size difference.

Here is my boy Radek (Ringdoll Dylan). He finally has some eyes that I'm pleased & satisfied with.

May I ask you where did you get his wig, and the wig on the boy in your avatar? And his eyes?

 

Thank you, Applecandy! Radek's wig and the one Tyler (boy in my avatar) is wearing are both Glib wigs and I got them from Mudoll. I'm not sure whose eyes you're asking about. Radek's are Glastic Realistic 10mm and the colour is hazel green. Tyler's are Safrin 14mm and the colour is Snowstorm. Hope that helps!

 

Thank you about the informations. Yes, I was asking about your Radek's (Dylan) eyes, since they look great. I was planning to get some Glastic Realistic Eyes a while ago, but I changed my mind since I started to appreciate glass eyes better than acrylic ones, and since they are not easy to order in Europe without paying lots of money for the shipping cost. But your picture is confirming they look great and I might plan to get them again (moreover, the color is just one of my favourite).
Anyway, congratulations on your lovely boys. I'll check for more pictures on your flickr album.

 

Thanks! I really like the Glastic Realistic. They're a nice alternative to glass and they aren't very expensive here in North America.

He's one of the cutest Dylan I've ever seen. I usually am not a fan of Dylan's mold, but I must admit that after seeing some customizations, like yours, I reconsidered my opinion. He can be really cute.
Glastic Realistic eyes look like they have the realistic looking texture of acrylic eyes, and almost the depth of the glass eyes.

 

Where is everybody? We need to revive this thread!

Time to bring this thread alive in hopes of some info on an ancient limited sculpt. XD

I am wondering if The special sculpt Quiz was offered in both normal and white skin? Does anyone even have him? I am going to start that long hard search for his head :/ I am hoping to find it in white even if it been yellowed. I have a way to remove yellowing now thankfully.

If anyone can help me that would be too amazing!

@Fush: I'm afraid I haven't even heard about this sculpt before. Was he limited or discontinued? If he was discontinued you might wanna try writting Ringdoll. You might be lucky and they have an unclaimed head left over. If he was limited, I'm wishing you the best of luck ^^°

 

Ooh, Radek and Virimirie are both very cute! I really love the Ringdoll sculpts, but I don't particularly care for the resin... maybe someday....

 

Snowy: He was a limited back in 2011. I written to Ringdoll and found so many sellers that arent bothering taking him off when they only do preorder. And there is not much info on him on the forum. It really going to be one of those sculpts that no one has :/ It really is confusing why sellers are still selling him preorder after 3 years.

i just got the body for my Kyo hybrid and i am very pleased. the ringdoll head fits in the neck perfectly and the resin is a good 90% match. so excited here is Hikari:

 

At Doll AKon this weekend. Ash, Evz and I met Huang Shan. I love how he held on to both of them possessively. He is proud of his dolls.

In the Q&A they said they were planning on making 1/4 size infamous sculpts like Frankenstein.

Just thought you'd like to know some new and different Ringdoll 1/4 were being planned.

Is anyone else excited for new Ring Kid dolls? I don't particularly care for the two coming out soon, but the possibility of more is really promising. I'm also intrigued about the new body. I wonder what the jointing will be like? Ringdoll has certainly improved a lot in their larger lines, so it will be interesting to see what they do with their minis as well.

P.S. If anyone has Valo spam, especially with the mech arm, I would love to see it! ^w^;
