So glad that more are getting these dolls, they are really poseable and the resin is smooth as silk to the touch. I love my Dylan, he is like no other in my collection!

I think I may get Valo 2, cause he is awesome.

I do like that I can find owner shots of him now. I've loved that face since release.

 

Hey, a humble request from me... I'm back to really, really wanting a Valo-girl, because my indecisiveness in the hobby is one of the worst.

Anyway, I'm wondering a bit about what the girl body can do. The joints look about the same as the boy's and, other than the obvious differences in the torso build, a girl body looks like she could pull off the same poses as a boy.

Does anyone here have the girl body, and if you do, would you mind taking some shots of it?

 

Hiya (first DoA post, yay!) Just posting to say that I just ordered Ringdoll's Lily model and am VERY excited for her to arrive! Already picking out shoes and wigs (I opted against her "set", I didn't like the clothes).

I ordered her from Mint on Card and they're doing her face-up for free, great for me since she's my first and I was NOT looking forward to painting on doll eyebrows (but I AM looking forward to all the awesome clothes I'm going to make her!)

On shoes, can mini ringdolls wear normal MSD size shoes? MoC's site says that her feet are 5.2cm, most of the shoes I've found so far are around 6cm, is that going to be too much of a difference? I wouldn't mind if they're kind of loose, so long as they're not so loose they fall off ^^;;

 

My Dylan wears a size 5.5cm for shoes, but so far I need to get him a pair next time. I think anything past 5.5 will be too big for my doll. 5.2cm is smaller than my Narae's feet, not sure where to find shoes in that size.

 

Hmm, yeah, besides getting them from Ringdoll (and they don't have much of a selection), I can't find shoes that would fit her exactly. Maybe I'll take the suggestion someone else posted and just get her some MSD feet. It looks like Ringdoll's new "natural" is a near match for Volk's, so maybe it'll look okay.

 

I honesly don't think giving her different feet will really work. The balls of an MSD's feet would be much too large to work with the slender ankles on a Ring Kid, even with some modding. MSDs are really rather chunky.

It might seem silly, but try socks! I've got this same size issue with my AE girl and also with my old RS tinies, and just by making them wear socks, the slightly too large shoes didn't move around and were so much more stable.

 

That's great, I was pretty much planning on her wearing socks (but since neither the doll nor socks are in front of me its hard to tell how much extra that adds). Thanks!

I'm going to be purchasing a Kyo doll with full attire, but would like some more 'casual' clothes for him (by the way, seeing pics of others and hearing about them is making me want him even more! Dx ). So to get this straight, all MSD sized clothes will fit Kyo? Because i was looking at measurements (was looking around Dollmore) and it seemed the measurements for shoulder width and so on were too short to fit him.

Also reading through the thread did I read correctly that size 10 eyes and 6 - 7 size wigs are better fitted for the Ringdoll dolls?

 

My Dylan wears 12mm glass eyes since his eyes are more round in shape and the eye well for him is bigger. I do have some 10mm eyes and they were too tiny for him. Size 6-7 wig fits my Dylan perfectly, now I am hunting for shoes for him to wear.

 

Heeey, I'm totally new to BJD collecting BUT I just wanted to say that it helps to see all the great feedback on the Dylan type doll! I sent in my order for him just last week, so he'll be my first! I'm sooo excited!

 

I figured I'd give this a friendly bump~ Erath JUST came home from Canada. (He was off getting a faceup from the talented Frozen Wings) Erath wears a 6-7 wig and a pair of 14MM eyes from Safrin, these are the hard half rounds. I think a pair of the squishy silicone ones would sit differently~ Anyway! PIC SPAM TIME.

Hi, I'm new here~! I just ordered En from Ringdoll(my first bjd, yay!), and I was wondering if anyone of you could help me with something~

and There are two sizes, I want to make sure what size would fit the En head before I order it ^^;; Which would better fit the En head? the 51mm in width or the 55mm one?

Kinda bumming right now.. actually, really bumming.. my doll Storm is disassembled and incomplete (got a tattoo done on her back) and I didn't get her head back until today, so I didn't get to take pictures of her new faceup for the contest... (that's probably why she didn't make it to the top 10 :/) I got her head and wig back today (UGH! WHY NOT SATURDAY!? D8), so I popped in the new eyes that I got for her, and my god is she ever gorgeous... and with the addition of the tattoo on her back.. I am SO lucky to own her D;

Just heard RingDoll are discontinuing some of their models, or maybe all of them? I sure hope Kid Kyo doesn't get discontinued before I'm able to order him.

Also I wanted to ask a question, I know you have to put the eyes in yourself with RingDoll, but do they send some eye putty too, or do you have to purchase that yourself. Just so I know that I have to purchase some before I get him.

 

Yeah, but I think they're coming out with some new models as well.. it's still sad since their dolls are so pretty. I was sad they discontinued Lily. I was just starting to grow fond of her

Mine came with a whole block of eye putty.. I was even able to change the putty in the heads of my other two dolls with it!

 

Yeah it is, but I'm sure the new models will be just as pretty.

I finally got around to taking some pictures of the Valo I bought a month ago! Thought I'd introduce him to this thread.



Unfortunately he's being frustrating, and I can't figure out what his name is. For right now, he's Nameless Boy Doll... but he's so darn handsome, I don't care...

Such pretty dolls.. I'll take more pictures of Emma when I get her darned body back... it doesn't seem to want to come home lol It's been in Ireland customs since the 31st of August and hasn't left yet I have pictures of her in pieces, her face, her torso, and her kimono-dress, which I just finished last night. I'm so anxious to get her torso back so I can put her back together... you have no idea! I wasn't too excited when I first got her, since she looked nothing like I had imagined.. but a lot of patience and careful planning has turned her into exactly what I wanted

Keeping with the blue tones for her kimono-dress. It's being modeled on the body of my other headless MSD (which isn't a slim MSD). It's a bit small on her body.. but I'm sure it will fit Storm's perfectly..


Urgh... D; 2nd wait is the most painful for me...

I just ordered my Dylan some clothes from Dollmore, I know finding shoes for his size has been a challenge. And I have yet to get someone to make his official outfit. When his proper eyes arrive I will take pics of him with my new camera too on my next day off this weekend. I think he feels I have been ignoring him, but I have not just working too much lately.

I have my Kyo (Erath) in a BFC Ink outfit. The shorts are way huge but they look cute on him when I have them pinned so they won't slip down and the top seems to fit just fine. Erath's got such a slender body but he doesn't look like a cross dresser in his outfit at all. Or perhaps a really manly one.
I do wish there were more people making clothes for them. I have a few pairs of jeans I got from a seller but the crotch/waist is way high and he's just a little emotastic boy, he needs sexy lowriders.
The sweaters I got from the seller are short in the arms too, do regular MSD's have short arms? I know the RD's are a big gangly, but that gangly?

I recently bought a dress for my incoming girl from another company, but she's still not in. So I decided to try her dress and wig on my Erath~ an RD Kyo.
He makes a super pouty sorta sultra blond. So here's a teaser, the rest can be found on my DreamWidth~

Oh I assure you he knows he looks good in the dress.
I doubt he'd consent to wearing it if he didn't look so good in it.
Though a great deal of wearing the dress is for revenge against his best friend, the dress's future owner.

 

Speaking of dress, does anyone have trouble dressing their kid in normal MSD clothing? What do you reccommend looking for if you want to buy clothes? Is there a another common or popular doll that they are the same size as?

 

I'm having my Ringdoll En arrive *hopefully* within next week xD I was wondering, what is included inside the Ringdoll box? does it include the same things as other doll companies? like a certificate and pillow?

Mon2x~ Ringdolls come with a plastic certificate card (like a credit card), but they're protected in layers of foam as compared to pillows.

 

Me too, Sanctioned. XD Assuming Erath will give it up that is! He's rather attached to it, I might have to get the blue too. XD

I have another question, how different is the Resin of Ringdolls from other companies? I mean, I know they use a different kind, so, is that kind of resin more high maintenance or roughly the same as the french type? and i read somewhere that it doesn't yellow(or doesn't yellow as much as french resin) is there any truth in that? ^^;;

 

Well, considering I only received my Ringdoll Kid a few months ago, and I haven't really had her out in the sun very much... I can't really say that I know for sure that the resin doesn't yellow as much, so sorry I can't bust that myth for you! Maybe someone else who has had their doll longer can help you out

I don't think that the resin is high matinence at all, it's silky smooth and I love it more than the resin on my other two dolls! Though I will tell you, it is less opaque than other dolls when you see it in person. It's not like you can see right through it, but it definitely doesn't have a flat matte finish. I'd say it's about a 90% opacity, maybe 95%- it doesn't make a whole lot of a difference, since you can't even tell in photographs, but when you see one in person, you'd be able to see what I mean. I hope that makes sense? ^^;

 

Mon2x, I only received my Valo a couple of months ago also, so I can't tell you about the rate of yellowing. Sanctioned is right about the slight transparency of the resin, which I think is very beautiful. It looks more like real human skin somehow.

The normal skin is a slightly more yellow tint than my normal skin Minifee, but it's still a natural tone, just a bit less pink.

emeraldwings- Yeah it is a fur wig I got from Soul Doll for their Soul Kids, I styled it like that, yeah he has the company faceup and Old Yellow Normal Skin color. He smells like oranges to me when I smell him, almost good enough to eat, but then he may just freeze me with some kind of hado he knows.

 

Thank you! He really is a prissy little thing. He doesn't want to give the dress to the doll I bought it for! I might have to bribe him with one of his own!

The dress will eventually go on an Island Doll Wallis girl. Erath really likes the short burlesque style and there's a blue almost matching one we like. He also likes lolita too. XD Erath wants to be bribed with dresses, perhaps I should give in and try to sew him a simple one too.
Speaking of EGL~ I just ordered him another wig since his Monique Destiny wig is taking forever~ He's getting a black wig with blunt cut bangs that should be rather long, at least down to his hips. Wig in Question
I got some pictures of my pretty boy outside yesterday and then we got rained and then I got some rather 'risqué' pictures of him lounging around in my bed.

emeraldwings- Nope...I think I will have to commission a seamtress later on, I know of 1 that maybe able to do it and she has done wonderful cosplays too. She is Full right now.

 

Woo~! Erath's wig from DDE came in! It's a Dollzone wig and a little coarse, it's a 7/8 but I find it a touch...small? I think it's because of his strange alien head. XD That's what I call it.
I took a ton of pictures today... None of them are DoA safe, so I put them up on ConDoll and on my DreamWidth under an 18+Up Warning and a Cut to hide them.
This one is pretty safe~ So have some Erath emotastic spam. I'm just so glad he's looking more like how I imagined him.

Thanks! He thinks he's looking pretty sexy too. Though my other doll just home today and she's taller than him and he haaaaates it so much. I love how slender and short he is, it makes me giggle.
