Oh me too, I grew up obsessed with barbies and other dolls and I would actually tell my parents that "when I grow up I'm gonna be an expensive doll collector" haha, so they 100% expected it.... They just don't fully know how "expensive" they are.... ex. my mom being shocked thinking Hua Cheng is $500.... But she fully supports my doll hobby as long as I'm not going too overboard.

And that'll be so nice taking Xie Lian with you! i can't wait to take one or two of my dolls to school with me this September!

 

Omg, that's such a mood. And yeah, it will be! I made him some cute extra clothes, so he should be all stylish on the trip and not having to be in his default outfit.

Oh, that's a good point, it'll be Saturday. I get overwhelmed when I wake up to three emails that I have to answer- she must have a lot from people desperately trying to get HC!

 

Very true!! I just want a solid answer on if she actually is only selling 9 or not, because if not then we'll all be good. I would think not since every doll is usually made to order. Maybe the 9 is talking about ones that she already has in stock?? And then the other orders she'll have to order and wait to be made from ringdoll? Hopefully we'll find out soon!

 

Oh, same... if she has some in stock... I'm legit gonna cry if I don't get one LMAO. I probably won't though based on how many messages I'm sure she's getting. Jokes aside, I'm 110% fine with a preorder, it would just be really nice to get one already in stock because I cannot wait! Also I need instant gratification for him because I'm 99% sure I'll have to cancel my Xie Lian 1/7 scale figure preorder because of this, which I'm lowkey sad about, but he'll be worth it.

 

OMG is it the one from GSC where he's standing on the flower?? It's so beautiful! I have the nendroid one of San Lang catching him- I love it so much but if I were in your situation, I'd also cancel the figure for the Hua Cheng doll. I guess you just have to think about which one you want more and which is worth it :/

 

Yes, it is the GSC one! It's so pretty, and I love that outfit... but the doll is worth it. And I already found a buyer who's willing to take it off my hands, so I'll be happy that he'll go to a good home. I'll just make the doll his crown prince outfit. I also have that one with him and San Lang, and I love it so much! They're making another one in the same style, but this time with the HC form. I also can't wait for the full Nendoroids to come out, because they've been announced with no developments for so long... someday.

 

Anyone else keep refreshing their email to see if they got a response from Clover Singing? I really wish they listed their business hours on the site... I 100% understand if they don't work on weekends, I'd just like to know so I know to wait until Monday their time at the earliest! Especially with the idea of there being limited stock, or potentially even being a certain amount of dolls in stock and ready to ship... Aah, the anticipation!

 

If you put a doll on layaway with her, is it the same process? Place the order without paying for it and when an invoice is emailed you explain you want a layaway plan?

Also, I could be wrong, but I've been thinking about that "9" stock on the website and perhaps it means you can't buy more than 9 at a time rather than having only 9 in stock/ will only sell 9. I hope that's the case and it would make more sense!

Looks like it is. You can select three different options when checking out- PayPal, bank transfer, and layaway. Just put in that order under layaway and email her with the order number, I believe! And I have no idea, I checked out of curiosity how many I could add to my cart (obviously without buying, I'm not made of money) and I could add over 9.

 

I hope so... if she does, I'm sure she'll reply to me seconds after I give up and go to bed! Timezone difference pain...

 

I might be wrong since this will be my first layaway, but I thought you'd email her before placing any order, but I guess it might not matter since you don't pay any money when ordering. This is what the site says:

"LAYAWAY is acceptable,please finish the layaway plan in 3-4 months.thanks a lot!
the longest layaway we can offer is 6 months.
if you want to use it, please mail me the details about LAYAWAY plan, thanks a lot!"

So I got the impression that you'd email first, but I'm not entirely sure.
Also I tried adding more than 9 to the cart and it let me lol (quickly removed them to avoid any mistakes lol) so I really don't know what that 9 means. Maybe 9 that are in stock ready to ship right now? Then the rest would be like ordering any other doll??

It's so late lol but Christina got back to me! Clover singing charges for layaway which was around $40. So the doll on clover singing is oroginally $799, with layaway it's $838. So yeah it's more expensive, but still probably cheaper than anywhere where shipping is not free because I assume shipping would be over $40.

(Also those prices are in USD)

 

The EMS shiping to my country is not free but with Clover is $65 usd, more cheaper that Ringdoll ($151 usd) it's a big difference

 

Yeah I've been looking around and it seems like clover singing is still the cheapest option

 

Also Christina didn't answer my question about the 9, now 39 thing, but I don't think we have to worry

Now all I wish is that they re-released Lan Wangji and Wei Wuxian ‘cause I really got into the MXTX hype late,
so I was not able to get them back when they released~

Who knows, maybe Ringdoll is already thinking about new doll versions of Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji ?!?
Because the interest is still very high in the 'Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation' series and has recently increased even more internationally.
Well, time will tell what or if something of the sort will happen. Let's keep our fingers crossed for that!

I'm also super excited for MXTX's fourth series which will apparently have fantasy elements, but be set in the modern world!! Dolls of those characters would be cool! And maybe slightly less expensive since they won't have super fancy traditional clothing lolol

 

I really hope for a Luo Binghe and Shen Qingqiu... SVSSS fans are so sadly rare, but I love the series! Since they already have done two of MXTX's works, why not a third? Though there could be issues with China itself, as apparently they tried to scrub SVSSS from the internet, so Ringdoll may be unable to produce them because of that.

Technically, all three MXTX novels are banned now, along with the works from Priest and Meatbun. They cracked down on censorship a lot, sadly.

Yeah, the original text for SVSSS is now lost from the site they were originally published on. I assume MXTX has backups that have been used for the English versions, but it sucks that the original versions are now lost- especially since there's a lot of confusion about some small details that would only be able to be cleared up with the original text, since we only have access to translations and translations of translations now.

Ahh, I knew that some was banned, but I didn't know all were banned. That's unsurprising, but really unfortunate, since she's a great author who just happens to write gay romance. Luckily she doesn't seem to be struggling for support, especially with the new Seven Seas licensing for her books.

Omg, a fluffy Binghe would be perfect. Because the donghua does him with straight hair and they seem to mainly do the donghua as references, they may not... but that won't stop me from getting him a special curly wig if he does get made! Fluffy Binghe is best Binghe. Also the donghua for Scumvillain is... hm... so I'd really prefer them using the artwork from one of the book releases as their reference instead.

Xie Lian and I are about to set off on a trip! I got him a nice carrying case from Ebay. However, it just fits him perfectly, so there's no way I can use the same model for Hua Cheng, as he'd be way too tall. Does anyone have any ideas on transport for the future when Hua Cheng comes in, preferably something that can comfortably hold two dolls? Which size did you get? it looks like that one has an option for up to 80 cm so it theoretically should fit Hua Cheng, since he's a little shorter than that. To be honest, I'm just going to make a carrying bag for my dolls eventually because finding one for larger dolls seems to be so difficult. They're basically a box pouch with handles so it shouldn't be too complicated if you sew or know someone who does.

 

Yeah, there is the 80 cm option, but I really want something that could hold both if possible, because of only being able to bring two carryons on planes, and I need a bag for myself, haha. I might sew my own bag, that’s a good idea! I’d just have to find a good way to have both of them snug and safe. Maybe two separate compartments.

Hey guys. General Ringdoll question. I bought the Grown 4 body and the blank Morin head from Ringdoll. RD didn't issue a CoA on either the body or the head. I know it's common for companies not to issue CoAs on bodies but I've never seen a company (except Doll Chateau and Dollzone) not use a CoA for heads? Has anyone ordered a head from Ringdoll and not been given a CoA?

 

I don't think RD does CoA. For full dolls, they have a medal now I believe, and the head should have a logo thingy inside it.

 

As Quilleth said, they do medals for new full sets, and cards for old full sets. Their site says basic dolls should come with a “birth certificate”, which I assume is a card of authenticity, but if you bought the head and body separately it might not have that. The head should have the plate on the back that says Ringdoll, and on the inside, the name of the sculpt. When I got mine, my card was in an envelope.

 

Ah. that makes sense. I purchased a Morin second had on DoA and that transaction didn't go well and the doll had to be returned hence I reordered through RD direct. I recall that coming with a CoA on the second hand doll but it was manufactured probably 2 years ago I think so something must have changed in that period. That makes sense. There is def a logo inside the head.

That makes sense. The only envelope I got was the standard promo material and stickers. So it sounds like they don't offer any form of separate CoA on heads "alone". But he does have the plate I see you both referencing.

 

Ah, my CoA was in the envelope with the promo material. I don’t think there’s any reason to be worried though since he has the plate.

I don't want all the fussy stuff, but if I want a faceup I guess I have to get the full set. Has anyone ever ordered a faceup with a basic doll?
And what happened to wheat skin? It's so nice and ages well so far. I have two of them.

That's a long ordering period. I guess it's their way of saying 'not limited, but limited.'

Time for an extremely oddly specific request from anyone that owns the RGMbody-4, would it be possible to find out the circumference of the wrist, and even more specific the size of the knee joint on the thigh part of the leg, both the whole circumference and the diameter of the actual socket

 

The wrist is about 6 cm and the thigh just above the knee joint is about 13.

Honestly, what I hope for the most is a long ordering period for Xie Lian's re-release! Give people a chance to save up, Ringdoll have mercy! I'm curious if they'll be doing a different outfit too, it would be nice. To my knowledge WWX wasn't any different when he was re-released, but I dont think there was enough time between releases to do something different? I was still in hiatus from the hobby during that so I'm not 100% sure... But Xie Lian hasn't been re-released for a whole year, so if they wanted to do something different they would have had time!
