The price though!! It's so weird how the one on bilibili was over $100 cheaper

 

Also the order period is so long!! From now until the end of October!

Dang he's already sold out on Ringdoll's site. I assume that's for the in stock dolls and they'll open preorders, if the order period si supposed to go until October. At least I hope so :/

And no Xie Lian available like I was hoping but that's okay at least we know that he definitely will be rereleased someday!! With the super long order period though it makes me wonder if maybe they'll release him later?? Catch me not ordering until October 30th LMAO

I'm also wondering when, if at all, he'll be on alices collections! Again with the super long order period, maybe he'll be added later??

 

They may rerelease Xie Lian around his birthday in July! Ringdoll's site does say that dealers can partake in the event sales, so I imagine he'll be on Alice's Colelctions in the next couple of days. But I don't know about the extra 5% off for having ordered Xie Lian before; Ringdoll's site says to email their sales department about that before paying, so that may be special for ordering direct.

 

Yeah I think the 5% off is only if you go through ringdoll and want through them for Xie Lian.
That also makes me wonder, if Xie Lian is rereleased (I forgot about his birthday!! lol) he'll be available on Alice's Collections just like any other doll, but if there's some sort of package deal with him and Hua Cheng for a discount, I have a feeling that it might only be for ringdoll.

It's mainly this order period that's making my head spin lol I've never seen and order period this long before!!!! We were all so impatient and now he can relax lol, more time to save up too!

 

Xie Lian's preorder period was pretty long too. The event period was July through September, to get the preorder bonuses, but he was still available after that for a little while.

 

Oh was he? I wouldn't know, the second I decided I couldn't afford him at the time, I stopped looking at his listings so that I wouldn't be tempted LMAO

 

Phew... the long sales period is a relief, since I don't have the money quite yet to get him. If you order him late, will you get him later than someone who ordered him super early in the preorder period? I'm also going to email Ringdoll just in case to see if you can still get the discount for buying XL if you ordered from somewhere else. He's also pretty pricey, but he's worth it...

 

Hmmm I’m not sure, I’ve never bought a doll that had a specific order period before so I don’t know if they’ll start on your doll right away, or wait until the whole period is closed to start. That might be another thing you could probably ask them in your email along with the question about your Xie Lian!

When your order is finalized, it takes 120-180 days for production to be completed, so yes, if you order later, you will likely get your doll later than someone who orders early.

OMG I just realized it says he comes with tattoo stickers…. So does that mean the Xie Lian tattoo that we can put on his arm? Ahhh I hope soooooo

I hope so! I didn't put Xie Lian's tattoo stickers on him, but if HC comes with his Xie Lian tattoo, I might end up putting the tattoos on both of them.

Yep! Several sheets of them actually xD They're like water transfer decals i think. I haven't used them, since they'd just be covered up anyway.

 

I hadn't used them either just in case I wanted to ever use Xie Lian's body for a different head in photoshoots, but now I'm more tempted to use them if Hua Cheng has his Xie Lian tattoo.

Do any of you guys know what taobao means by their "Size description" options? Like it shows the options:

- General muscle full set (scheduled)
- Full staging of general muscle (scheduled)
- White muscle full set (scheduled)
- White muscle full staging (scheduled)

I have no idea what any of those mean lol and which one I would pick if I ordered through taobao

 

I assume white muscle is the basic doll, not the full set, but I honestly have no idea.

 

Wait, it looks like you *can* order him in either normal or white resin, so general is probably normal resin, white muscle is probably white. and I assume one for each is the full set, and one is just the basic doll, but I really don't know how to tell which is which.

 

That's what I was thinking for the resin, and I assumed "set" was fullset, but I have no idea what staging means. I've just been thinking about it because on taobao he's over $100 cheaper than ringdoll, at least in CAD. So that's a huge discount, unless shipping is super expensive which it probably is.

Yeah shipping is usually pretty expensive from taobao, at least in my experience. I've paid like $50 shipping for a skirt and some small accessories before on Taobao orders, and I'm not sure if you can get shipping insurance through Taobao.

 

Yeah forget taobao shipping to Canada is $114.... Also, I've done some looking around lol, and there's a chance that Alice's Collections might even be cheaper that ordering from ringdoll! All of their dolls are cheaper right now due to a 10% sale!! Hua Cheng's not up yet though

It probably wasn't made by Ringdoll, but Bilibili, since Bilibili owns the copyright for the donghua and manhua

Dang, only 114? My shipping for XL to the US was $200 I might go through Alice's Collection if they're cheaper plus free shipping, does anyone know if Alice's Collections gets their stock later than Ringdoll? And would the 10% be on top of the Ringdoll 5% that you get for ordering in June?

I can’t believe I’m this enthused about a doll who’s a full 10cm above my usual size limit, but here we are.

I mean, it looks like the newest dolls, the 1/6 Sun Ce and Zhou Yu arre 10% off like all the other Ringdoll bjd on AC, so maybe? And yeah, the dolls would need to ship to Alice's Collection before they get shipped to customers, so there's probably a bit of difference between when they get them and get them shipped out compared to Ringdoll.

 

Well... Chinese domestic shipping hasn't taken too long in my experience, and it probably would be no worse than ordering from a proxy, so maybe I'll just deal with the few days of delay for the free shipping lmao. And everyone raves about them!

 

I mean I didn't punch in my address lol it just said shipping ¥600 which I converted, so that might be like the starting shipping price. Also I'm not sure when they get their stock, but usually Alice's Collections stack all if their deals! I'd email and ask though.
I hope he gets put on there soon though!! Even if I won't order until after Xie Lians birthday just to seeeee if he'll be released, it'll be nice to see how much Hua Cheng is on there to start saving!

Just got a response from Ringdoll: Looks like they'll let you purchase HC with the discount from Xie Lian if you have proof of purchase from another shop!

 

I got the September batch in Taobao... Now I have to be patient

I just saw! I'll probably order from clover singing then. Even if Xie Lian is rereleased after his birthday, if he has the same deal as the MDZS dolls had, it'll only be a $30 discount to buy them together. It will aslo most likely be a ringdoll exclusive deal, and there I'd have to pay shipping so it would probably end up being more in the end. Also can I ask where you saw that there's only 7?

 

Looks like it actually might be nine? Next to where you can select how many you want, it says "9 pieces", so I assume they only have that many to sell.

For those who got him/want to get him, are you going with white skin or normal skin? My original thought was normal skin for me, but he's also really pale in the donghua and manhua, and described as even paler in the novels lol so now I'm a bit undecided

 

I choose the picture option, which is normal.

 

I've been debating that, but since the images have normal skin, I think I'm just going to go with that. I'd want to see how the faceup looks on the white skin if I were going to buy that to see if I like how that looks, but there's no sample images for that. It might bother me that he's not paler than Xie Lian, but I'll get over it lol.

 

I'm going with the normal skin, because I heard white is like... white white. He's pale, but I don't think I want him to be a super extremely stark white. Besides, as Quilleth said, we don't have sample images of what the faceup looks like on white skin, so I don't want to risk it on an $800+ doll lmao.

 

Okay, comparing Clover Singing with Ringdoll, Clover Singing is easily the best option even though they only offer EMS (which I usually avoid). For Ringdoll, shipping to me at least was about $102 USD including insurance, which brought the total over $900. Clover Singing is only charging $799 for the doll, which is a much better deal. I think I'll be going with them.

 

Wait is EMS not great? I don't know much about them but they don't charge customs in Canada so I was originally happy about that lol
