You can see his nails in the season 2 trailer and they're not but that would be so cool if the doll does! Although if it counts as extra for body blushing I'll just do it myself

 

Damn... it's a tiny and unimportant detail, but I'm sad that it's not included in the donghua! I want to eventually do body blushing for both boys, so maybe I'd do it myself.

 

Also I found the height difference between the RGM3 and RGM4, but Hua Cheng is almost a head taller than Xie Lian so its not quiteeee enough lol

 

Yeah... but it'd definitely be better than nothing, and some clever angles/hidden boosts with photography can make the height gap more like canon.

Yeah it's only a couple centimeter difference, so it's not too big a difference, but might seem a little more with both dolls dressed properly.

 

Yeah, and especially since we don't even know that he will have the RGM3 body yet. We're jumping to conclusions, but it's exciting and with 3 (more like 2) days left until he will probably be revealed, we only have speculation for now!

 

I read in a post somewhere in FB that RD confirmed that HC would be in a 75cm body.

Oh me too. For some reason I guess I hadn't been thinking about the exchange rate and then I remembered ah yes, that's why I didn't get Xie Lian the first time around. He was $769 USD which is $964 CAD.... Andddd now I've spent all night thinking about how I've been obsessing over a doll that I probably won't get anymore ahhhhh! (Plus Hua Cheng will 100% be way more than Xie Lian)
I'd definitely also do a 6 month layaway but even then, almost $1000 for a doll, the idea of spending that much wasn't even something I could imagine, much less two dolls if I were to buy Xie Lian too. Even if I could afford it and did a layaway, just knowing that I spent that much.... I feel like I'd feel guilty y'know? So now I'm stressing a little over that ahahahah. We'll see what happens when he's released lol

 

Looks like Hua Cheng is definitely on the 75 cm body, and is available to begin ordering, at least through the bilibili app starting at noon on June 10. I don't know when they'll open orders for him on other platforms, including Ringdoll direct though :/ They still haven't posted anything to their accounts outside of China. But here's the listing

I wonder if Ringdoll will also offer the Xie Lian - Fullset (as a Re-Release) at the same time as the new Hua Cheng release?!?

 

He looks great! The price isn't as bad as I was expecting... Though the price on Ringdoll's website will probably be higher.

 

Wait— I’m so confused about the price. It says the deposit is ¥719.85 which is $5.38 USD and full payment is ¥4799 which coverts to $35.87 USD???? Am I missing something lol I’m definitely missing something

 

That's in yen! China uses Yuan, which is different. It converts to $718.10 USD for full payment.

 

The deposit is $108 US dollars, and the full price through that listing is $718 like Alex said above. It will probably be higher on Ringdoll's site-I'm guessing he'll be $769 just like Xie Lian was, plus shipping/ insurance. Hopefully they'll announce something on their English pages and website soon, since so far they've made one post on weibo, and the other information has come from Bilibili, not Ringdoll.

Np! I was confused when I first ordered on Chinese websites too. The mental conversion isn't as easy as Yen either.

By the way, what's the deposit system? Is it like layaway, or is it more like a classic preorder where you put in the deposit for x amount and pay the rest upon release?

 

I haven't bought anything through Bilibili before, but usually they'll have the deposit period, and then when that ends, the rest of the payment is due. It's not a layaway system. From what I've seen for other orders through the mall, that period may be a month or so.

Personally, I'll jut wait to order through Ringdoll directly or from a dealer like BJDivas or Alice's Colelctions, since it doesn't involve me needing to use google translate to set up an account or order

 

Yeah, I'll probably go with that, especially since the price is likely not much cheaper than Ringdoll's will be. With Xie Lian, ordering from Taobao was worth it because he only cost about $650 from there, but $200 shipping, and that balanced it out (Ringdoll's website was OOS anyway at that point). So I'm not doing that again lmao.

 

I would prefer to order with a dealer or directly from their website since I also don't read Chinese. It'll be a huge problem if there'll be miscommunication.

 

He is in Body... 5?! 77 cm height! For sure he's gonna be almost 80 cm! That is a HUGE height difference!

I haven't seen any pictures comparing the two, and the only one i have is Xie Lian :/ I've seen comparisons for similar sized dolls from other companies, but that would only give an idea of heights really.

I only have one 73 cm boy so I'm just measuring using a measuring tape to see an approximate difference. XD

I checked, and with Xie Lian being 68 cm, it's a 9 cm difference. Multiply by 3 and it's a 27 cm difference at full scale- bigger than in canon, but I'm not complaining since I love height gaps!

A minor update to the link from above, since the site uses inches and not cm, but the numbers used were the heights of the dolls in cm.

Imagine if you have to detach his cursed eye and put it on e-ming. Ringdoll has done an attachable eye on a hat before for a different doll. This would be fun and funny at the same time XD

 

Yes, but checking the info, it gives this for giving height in cm: "For heights in centimeters, set Feet to 0 and Inches to the measurement in centimeters. Don't mix the two systems, you'll get a wrong result." So either cm in inches or feet/inches works. For the link you gave, I believe it's comparing 27 cm and 30 cm.

 

Also, Google Translating what's included in the fullset, it says "knife hand"... so I assume E-Ming is included? I guess we'll have to wait and see the full English translation. There's also something that says "fate", not sure what that's supposed to be, haha. Maybe the umbrella, though that could be wishful thinking.

 

Fate is probably the red string, since that's in most of the promo pics

 

He does have e-ming in the pictures and the umbrella. So I'm hoping they include BOTH. And the red string for 'fate' I guess...?

 

Good point! I think you're right. I didn't think of that. Perhaps an extra string for Xie Lian, Ringdoll? Please? I made HC's ash ring for Xie Lian myself, but a red string as well for him would be nice.

 

Ohh I really hope we get the umbrella so I can reenact the sedan scene with the wedding dress I'm making. I wasn't sure, since I think some props like Lan Wangji's guqin may have been sold separately from him? Don't quote me on that though, I may be wrong.

 

ooh that would be nice of them to include!! Kind of sad they didn't make the ring necklace for him too, since he only has the hat and Ruoye as accessories. Like I could see not giving him Fangxin, since that hasn't come up in the donghua and that seems to be mostly what the dolls are based on, but he should have at least gotten the necklace

 

Yeah, his accessories were a little bit sad, but it's okay. Hua Cheng is the biggest accessory, lmao. The ring necklace wasn't too hard to make (I'd be more than happy to share what I used with people if anyone wants to do it), but I'm sure theirs would have been fancier.

 

It would be nice if it was the ring. How did you make it by the way?

 

That's a weird suggestion from the site, since there's a big difference between a 9 inch difference and a 3 inch difference. And, I believe it is in fact comparing everything in inches as it states. When I changed the measurements to 2'6", and 2'3" respectively, the height difference didn't change.

 

I got "Café Curtain Rings 50pcs Clear Plastic Rings for Roman Shades 5/8"(16mm)" from Amazon, and a silver 18 inch chain. The chain was way too long, so I cut it short to my length liking and put the clasp back on. Then just slid the ring on and it worked! It looks pretty alright, in my opinion.

 

I'm sorry to stop you, guys. But Hua Cheng is 75 cm tall - and not 80 cm.
Just like the RD Sun Ce doll, he has a RGMbody-5.

By the way, there are a few more trustworthy dealers out there. At Clover-Singing you can also buy dolls (and other things from Taobao etc.) very well. I can only recommend them.

It is 77cm based on Bilibili's listing but they do disclaim that measurements may be different from actual measurement. Doll companies always does this. XD

If you compare both doll measurements (Total Height: 75 cm / RGMbody-5) of Sun Ce and the Hua Cheng's Bilibili's listing, you can see that they are exactly the same. Except for the listed total size. I currently assume that this is a typing error on Bilibili.

 

That's what I'm thinking!! They did that with the MDZS dolls AND ringdoll says that Xie Lian will be rereleased someday!! I hope they do because I've been lowkey getting my hopes up. Although buying them both at the same time is going to be soooo expensive. Thank god for layaways
