Ohhhhh I just googled it, it's cause I'm in Canada Yeah anytime I use DHL or UPS it's like $30+ of customs. That's why if given the chance, I won't pick express shipping unless I'm desperate for the item to arrive lmao

 

Oof, I've heard horror stories of Canada shipping from figure communities because of customs... Yeah, I'd probably avoid express shipping too if I had to pay customs, because these things are expensive enough without extra cost to pay.

 

Also from my experience Alice's Collections always does all of the same sales that the companies do, like for example ringdoll has a 10% off sale going on right now!

 

Oh, then maybe they are the best option! Feels almost too good to be true if I didn't already know that the company was reputable.

 

It's seriously amazing, I couldn't believe it either at first. They also do a lot of their own deals! Right now for the month of June if you order a doll between 50cm-80cm, you can pick a wig, a pair of shoes, or a piece of clothing that's $20 or less, and get it for $1! They always have stuff like that going on, hence why I've only ever ordered from them lol

 

Their customer service is also very sweet! They've been very friendly every time I've contacted them.

 

Oh nooo! I know some people who will have things shipped to friends in the US when they order online and then pick them up or have their friend bring them to avoid paying customs, but I know that's not feasible for everyone and takes longer to get your purchases too :/

 

Omg, what even is this (': Gonna be sitting on my hands to keep myself from going on their website before Hua Cheng's preorder period, because that'll get me. Thanks for the info, though! Gonna become an ACBJD customer now.

 

Yeahhhh it's not the best, plus since bjds are heavy and expensive it'll probably end up being at least $90. But Hua Cheng and Xie Lian are worth it!! Also if I go through Alice's Collection and get free shipping, it'll be similar to if I had bought from ringdoll and paid shipping I guess. *sighs* the things we do for these dolls ahahahah

 

Omg yeah, it's crazy what we do for these dolls. I refuse to buy a new $7 seam ripper but a $700 doll? Let me get my wallet!

Hua Cheng's birthday is on June 10th. Will Ringdoll announce his doll release on this special day?! It looks quite like this. Because Ringdoll is currently running a Weibo campaign that allows you to submit Xie Lian photos to celebrate the special birthday of Hua Cheng appropriately. (At least that's how I understood it using Google Translator.)

However, it is not from the official Ringdoll website. I'm sorry, I have no idea where this photo showed up on Weibo.

He's absolutely gorgeous!!!! I can't believe after all this time he's finally here. I hope they release him on his birthday that would be so cool!!

 

There's a count down of things being released for his birthday, and i think the bjd is listed second, after some cute figures from Hobby Ranger, so i think it will be released right around his birthday!

 

I haven't been a fan of the designs on the other MXTX characters, Xie Lian included, but Hua Cheng looks amazing!

 

OMG He is beyond perfection!!! I need him as soon as possible

 

I'm honestly the same. I missed WWX and LWJ since I was not yet working at the time they were released. I didn't like XL's face as much so I didn't get him. But HC is sooooo gooooooodddd! But I'll be holding out for a possible Bingqiu. Hope they release Bingqiu. It's not fair they get forgotten when they are the eldest. (TT o TT)

I have experience with ACBJD layaway for a Ringdoll. How is Ringdoll's layaway conditions? Should I just go with ACBJD if ever? I've heard rumours of the Xie Lian doll being cheaper from RD's website compared to AC (not sure). In that case, is ordering from RD directly from their website better?

 

On their site Ringdoll lists layaway terms as 30% down (including shipping costs) and the rest paid over 4 months. I'm not sure what Xie Lian was on ACBJD but Ringdoll he was $769. I'm pretty sure like BJDivas had him listed at a higher price to help cover the initial fees to place orders since he was a licensed and limited doll, but i don't remember what the difference was.

 

So like if I order now (JUNE) and pay the down payment, I need to finish paying by October the same day I paid the down payment?

 

I imagine they'd give you more specific details in the email confirming your layway, at least regarding exact dates. But yeah if he goes up for order this month and you wanted to do a layaway you'd have until October to finish paying him off. Their directions are the second things listed here: Buying method

 

Thanks a lot Do they lower the declared prices? Or do we have to pay for customs? I've never experienced customs from AC.

 

I would love to get Hua Cheng but it would be a whole dilemma lol. I wouldn't want him lonely. I'm with you. If I want any MXTX character I want my Shizun!!

 

I'm not sure tbh. I'm in the US, and in the US you don't have to pay customs fees unless something is worth over $1000, so it's never come up for me with anything I've bought.

 

So handsome! I hope E-Ming will be included instead of a separate purchase like they often do...

 

Xie Lian came with everything pictured in his promo images, so I'd imagine they'll include e-ming!

The timing’s a little painful for me (I just ordered um… several dolls), but I’m so happy Hua Cheng is finally happening! I feel bad looking at my Xie Lian hanging out on the shelf by himself.

 

If you want AC to undervalue your package you just need to email them and ask.

 

@maryw13 You can ask to have goods declared at a lower price on the packet, or "undervalue" the contents. As in, for a doll that costs $500, you could get the seller to declare the cost as $200 instead. So a lower customs fee will be calculated.
BUT, if the goods then get damaged or lost, the sender (I think it's the sender who has to file a report..?) can only claim $200 back in damages from the shipping company, so some stores/sellers aren't keen on doing that.
Sorry if I dumb'd it down too much.
But yeah, Alice's Collections will declare at a lower price if you ask. And even if the doll would be damaged, they'd help fix things, for sure!

Omg same. Not dolls, but I have a couple figure pre orders coming out about when I'm assuming Hua Cheng will be put up (looking at the Xie Lian GSC scale...) but I'll find a way to get him. If necessary, I'll sell my preorder. I really don't want to do that since XL, but Xie Lian needs his Hua Cheng!

 

Ah...crap..I need to see if my figure was already taken out now. I forgot about that since it was a few months ago xD

 

If it's the XL from GSC, he hasn't released yet. It should be in July, but I'm betting on a later release... even so, the site I use won't push back the payment date even if the figure release gets pushed back, which is too bad.

 

Oh yeah, it is and I know he's not due until July at the earliest. I meant i needed to check if payment was taken out when i ordered or not, so I'm not shocked pikachu about it if it wasn't lol

From my experience, AC undervalues the package unless you ask otherwise! I was quite worried myself about customs fees for my first boy since I asked for DHL shipping (they’re usually quick to pre-charge fees). The package came through without being charged and arrived in less than a week

I keep telling myself I don’t need any more TGCF merch with these two around, but we’ll see how long that lasts.

I also just started a layaway last month for a different doll to customize so i can have MoShang, so my doll budget is occupied...but also i NEED Hua Cheng sooo..oh well xD

Hey all! Jumping in on the discussion to ask if anyone has experience with Ringdoll layaway directly? I've been considering to buy Hua Cheng (he's so gorgeous! ) but I'll definitely have to put him on layaway. I've read the directions on the Ringdoll website but I'm a little confused about not paying for the order? I haven't bought from them before so I'm not sure what the normal process is like... Would they still give an order number even though you haven't paid? I would think the order can't be processed unless it's paid for.

Any advice or pointers to other discussions foe the process would be great! I just want to make sure I'll be ready to buy Hua Cheng when he's released!

 

And order number should still be generated when you add the item to your cart, and then go to view cart/ check out option (but do not complete the check out process). You'd email that number to their sales department explaining you'd like to do the layaway, then I imagine they'd send you any specific instructions for the layaway itself. Placing a layaway with Alice's Collection works similarly. I think adding the item to the cart both removes it from their inventory and generates the order number. Alice's collections send you an invoice after you email them with that information, so I'm guessing that's what Ringdoll does as well.

People have mentioned this before but I'm soooo curious about what body he'll be on!! Probably the RGMbody-3, but I kinda hope he's on a new, taller body to create the right height difference between him and Xie Lian! Although that would make him huge hahahaha

 

RGM3 is my bet too. He'll be a big boy, but I'm excited for that! Their height difference is so cute, I'd be sad if they didn't have it. If they don't put him on a taller body, I might genuinely consider getting him one separately, though that is a lot of extra money...

 

If he's not on one of the taller bodies I might end up doing that too, eventually. I know it will really bother me if he's not at least a little bit taller than Xie Lian, as silly as it sounds. Hmm, but then his clothes wouldn't fit right at that would also bother me if I'm buying the full set...

 

Same. I'd probably just suck it up and either modify/tailor his existing outfit or make a completely new one. Though that's a very restrictive option for those who can't make their own clothes, as custom clothes as detailed as that would run a couple hundred dollars. I have a feeling that Ringdoll will come through for us though, since their height difference is a pretty big and obvious thing in all official art of them. I also wonder if they'll paint his nails... they don't usually do body/hand blushing on the fullsets, but since HC has black nails, would they put in the effort to paint them?

 

Their height difference is adorableeee! The RGM3 is taller than the RGM4, but it's still not quite tall enough to be accurate lmao
I honestly might just make Hua Cheng stand on a box every time I wanna take photos of them together lol (That is if I get Xie Lian too ofc)

Hmm, does he have the dark nails in the donghua though? I know he does in the manhua and fanart, but I can't remember if he has them in the show. But that's a pretty easy thing to do if he doesn't.

 

Oh, that's a good point. Have we properly seen his hands in the donghua? We barely saw his true form at all, so I'm not sure if I've noticed... guess that'll be up to season 2 with the gambling den scene, we'll get lots of hand close ups then!

 

Hmm, I wonder if there's any kind of ankle riser that would be compatible with one the rgm3 body that could make him taller. Or it could probably work to add ones to the boots maybe? like lifts in the boots to make him seem taller?

 

Replicas of the boots with bigger soles in general would work, and probably not be too noticeable since they're black. It couldn't add too much height without looking strange, but a cm or two would definitely be possible, and be a bigger difference at the scale.
