Ringdoll Grown Dolls, thread #7

Hello~
I have a question, which is probably repetitive but I couldn't find an answer to.
Can anyone please be so kind as to tell me what clothes fit RGMbody-3?
Aside from Ringdoll's clothes I mean.
Personally, I feel like purchasing Crobidoll or Iplehouse clothes but I'm not sure if they will fit him ("K").

 

I also would love to know this for the exact same reason - K. Also I love your icon cause Lore Olympus is .

I got the first piece for my boyo today. The rest of him won't be able to be ordered till my big Dollshe Amanda is paid off. . but I'm super excited! I'd forgotten how huge the big size dolls were lol!

I tried a lot of clothing on mine when I first got him and this is what I know:

Iplehouse: no. He's way too tall for SID, and EID is large all over but especially in the neck which looks really bad
Dollmore model: no pants, I have a button down shirt that fit which is what mine wore when he was my Norman's body.
Dollmore Glamor model: I had one pair of pants that fit but they were all over stretchy and sold with a fullset so I would not count on them
Luts: SSDF jeans fit. Probably not the shirts as I have an SSDF and he's not that big in the chest at all. Unless they stretch a lot.
70cm Dollheart: no
70cm clothing from Alice collections: I have a jacket that fit, no pants, but they do make things to fit to measurements so I'd at least give them a look
Sadol: I only have Hound and SSDF size and no to both
Freedom Teller: I only own SID and 70 and come to think of it, I never tried the SID pants from them on him. They might work - the doll I bought them for (argodoll) is a hair too small for them so he's actually wearing Ringdoll RGM02 pants right now, and he wore the SSDF jeans just fine.
70 FT is a no. It's bigger than Hound but not really big enough for RD.
There might be more, I have forgotten where a lot of my bigger guys clothing comes from. I do know that I literally tried every piece of 70+ clothing on him when I brought him home and had almost nothing that fit.

So here's a fun comparison that may or may not help.


What we've got here in this picture of old, is my Iplehouse EID-strongman arms (who I did not want to wrangle out of that outfit), the RGM03 and Dollmore Glamor model. The GM and RGM03 look close, at least in the shoulders and legs. And Dollmore does tend to make their clothes larger than needed for their own dolls, but if you turn those guys sideways the GM will nearly disappear and the RGM03 will not. He a chunk. The EID is just massive. Like really. He photographs small, he's not. His pants fall off the RGM03 and the shirts are ridiculous and Bruce strains the buttons on both.

RGM03 is really hard to clothe. Mine has a Granado head, is Harry Dresden and owns one outfit - SSDF jeans and handmade to fit him jacket and shirt. I don't know much about Crobidoll, but I have a friend who has one of the taller ones - I just know he's taller than 60, I'm not sure if he's 65 or 70- but he's much much smaller than Ringdoll, so if that's their largest size no way will the clothes work. Good news is their feet aren't huge, so shoes are easy to find XD

Oh and I had to put underwear on him to keep the jointed penis from popping out of the jeans just fyi. He's my only male doll with underwear (Dollsore model underwear-which makes me think maybe you could find some dollmore clothes, but I have no idea which pieces to go for. I only have a couple things in the larger sizes of theirs as they are really too big to fit their own dolls and a lot of my boys wear the model girl clothing because it fits better)

This has surely been super helpful because I have been clueless about this as I go navigating different pages for outfits for him.
I'm a bit bummed about Iplehouse though, because I really like their clothes but I'll go with some of the others you suggested, with my fingers crossed, since I really do want to find some nice outfits and accessories for him.
Also, thanks for the comparison (btw, love your boys) and for the underwear idea since I have been debating it.

Lol the underwear thing makes a lot of people laugh (including me) but it's good to know...SSDF pants fit fine, but the snap does undo when he's sitting...and things get loose. XD

I should really do a new comparison. The majority of my 70-ish cm guys are SSDF-Hound sized and can pretty much share clothes, but I have a few more larger-sized guys than I did when I took that set. Plus most of them have different heads now XD

 

I think @VampireAngel13 covered most of the choices, though I have a couple of Granado outfits for the Embody that fit in a loose and baggy kind of way. Most of the Ringdoll clothes are super tight and I like the looser fit for my boys.
Ash and Evz were invited to the Pub for a Party. They haven't been very social lately so they attended.
And of course Dallas is the life of the party!

I asked one of my friend that owned RGM-03, she said that Loongsoul body 73- 02's outfit can be fit. My RD guy is not home yet (since I just bought him 2 months ago), so I really cant authenticate yet.

 

Does anyone have any experience purchasing from DOLK's japanese website? There are some in stock wigs I am considering purchasing for Wei Wuxian. I've heard bad things about the international website but I'm wondering if the service is better with the japan one?

I'd say go with the Soom SG. I've got the DT18F and RD Grown guy, and she's about his size (possibly bigger in some places) I can't get comparison pics for you right now, and she usually won't stand for love nor money anyway, but I might be able to snap show shots for you tonight

Well, I've got the comparison pics of RD Grown and Soom SG now. SG is waaaay bigger than RD boys. Like, Sabik looks like a lollipop next to Norman. Or a chibi - if you can call a 70+cm doll a chibi, lol.

I actually didn't get the "non-standing" part - is there a problem? I've never heard about posing issues of DT bodies. A friend of mine even calls them "plasticine bodies" due to posing...

 

So i feel like we should talk about how fancy and nice that new outfit looks and the wig lol. The sculpt is actually kind of typical. I might be getting the full set just so I can steal the outfit and body to give to my IOS jaguar floating head. Poor boy really needs it for being like 5 and half years old.

Plus I'm actually curious on what kind of head they mentioned will be included free if you do order the fullset. Since theres a gift promotion of quite a lot of stuff too o.o. Wigs, eyes, dollstand, calendar, and more. So if anyone has an idea on the gift head. I'd love to know.

 

@Synchytrium I have three DT bodies and all of them have terrible knees and trouble standing, including the 17 boy which is one of the newer ones.

Also I have a "new" girl. Who is an old head with a new life.



My Senkai (who has been a girl forever) is now Poison Ivy and on a Dollmore model f body. Proportionately and resin match wise this is perfect, but her neck is SO thin. I had to make a neck piece for her, which I'm still refining, just so she works. Just to put this in perspective, I don't usually care about neck gaps or fit (only proportion), so this is really bad lol. The neck piece works great though. It will work better when I finish it.

She's my fourth Poison Ivy (and by far the best!). I've had more trouble with her....(also this brings my Ringdoll head Dollmore body total to 5 lol I have a problem send help)

I joint you because I will order RGMbody-4 (68cm) to my Morfeo rumple head.
Because he have a cooper oriental skin I send them a color sample tomorrow (Pantone color paper reference) to ajusting color (Ringdoll accept that). They may not do the same, but it will be the closest and most joined for me.
I will have to wait 220 days , time to find him clothes (and to have money for!),
Especially since I do not know anything in a similar size corresponding to make choices neither too big nor too narrow!
I have juste MSD girl and more Fairyland (never say "nerver SD!) I admit that I am super afraid of the size it will make!

I like real your RG doll. I find them a lot of carism

 

@Alixir - you will like the #4 body. Morfeo will look very good on it. I have 3 of the #4 bodies and the posing is excellent.

I'm contemplating buying a secondhand Ringdoll Qinzhe, and he seems to be in 2014 normal skin, which seems to have yellowed a bit. Just checking here in case anyone has an idea which jointed hands from which company would match 2014 Ringdoll normal?

I bought an old ns body this summer and feet from 2019 for it. I put my feet in the sun, turning regularly and watching. I managed to get the identical skin. Otherwise hand blush can help you!

Not really, but I did buy him a new body. Since it's one I already own I've been practicing with an extra head while I wait for it. It's both extremely different and exactly the same.

 

I bought a tan Raven head because....? I wonder who he wants to be, he definitely wanted to come home to his brothers. A third demon child, half brother to Aalon and Eozahl perhaps?

I have a Rumpeldoll Morfeo head who will be ManBat. He's in copper oriental, so kinda tan and I've been having trouble finding a body for him - he'll get John's old one. When I'm 100% done with the new one and he's all moved over lol. So in like, 10 years. XD
I plan on blushing parts of him tan to match as he'll be partially transformed. And then all my dolls will have bodies O.O

UGH Don't remind me. The only good thing is I've been wanting to redesign some of them anyway, so this gives me push I need to actually do it. It does suck a little, only one of his tattoos is damaged at all. ONE. Out of all of them. That's insane. Alex gets damaged the second I put him aside after I'm finished working on him. John has held up really well.

Still moving him over permanently is scary. I need to decide if I should buy him a new pair of shoes or just use his old feet. Hands have to change too, his Soom jointed hands are way too small for this body. I'm not a huge fan of the DK hands (pictured) and they also belong to my other Joker (who is technically Ringdoll so I could post him here), but don't know what else will fit.
Most of his clothes still fit, some don't. I need to buy yet another really expensive suit

Then there's all the mods and having to redo his tattoos.

I don't know why I thought this was a good idea.

 

@VampireAngel13 Just another John-ism. He needs therefore he gets, it's his magic, even if he doesn't know how he is doing it. I mean he has 7 heads why not a new body to show them off!

I'm kind of curious what jointed hands might be a good fit for the 70cm boy body. It will be white skin so not too worried there. Since I like options when I want to change his hands out.

Thank you so much! Jointed hands are such a bane for this hobby. Been nearly tempted to get one of each from even resin soul since they are dirt cheap for hands and can be color matched for future purposes. There's also so many other companies too for jointed hands. So many hard choices.

 

Yeah I have been tempted to grab as many as I can myself, but after I got Soom I was pretty much done XD they're my favorite. Sadly they're too small for John on the new body. Maybe the bigger Soom ones...?

I don't have any for my two big RD guys because they're both wizards (Harry Dresden and John Constantine) and I just use Ringdoll's gesture hands for them XD

 

Yeah I plan on trying hands with a lot of bodies I plan on so it's more beneficial and plus it can always help people in the far future as we all share the doll hobby pains.

I know I'll be trying the Telesthesia & Dragon hands on the ring doll body once it comes in just for science as we always need more hand options for lesser used/known companies.

 

Yeah it's always good to know what hands fit what! I hybrid hands more than heads. Almost more than heads. You never know when you'll just not like company hands.

 

I have a whole box of misc. hands and if I see them on the MP for a good price and I like the look I'll buy them.

 

XD because why not. You never know when you might find a good fit for hybriding for that perfect look

Another issue I know I been trying so hard to figure out is finding a body for my 2012-2013 Kirin. I actually do believe he has yellowed but no idea with out comparisons of similar resin from the same year x.x it been driving me nuts

 

John's body arrived yesterday, so I was busy stringing him and moving him over to his new permanent home. Meaning I did not take pictures of hands XD but I will tonight. I need to do some hand swapping anyway.

So I tried a few pairs of hands on the RGM03 body (presumably the same as all the growns since I think they have the same hands)
My hands:
Dollzone 65
Dikadoll 70
Dikadoll 60
Soom Super Gem

I didn't bother with DC because they're weird.

What I found out
DK 70 is huge and I didn't bother to even put them on (pic on Flickr). The wrist ball is so much bigger than wrist of Ringdoll, and it's a different shape.

Soom, DK60 and Dollzone are roughly the same size and all fit. DK looks a little small because the fingers are the most slender. Soom poses the best by far. I thought I grabbed a pic, but I did not, but it can bend 90° both ways. Dollzone is the worst, it barely moves at all, DK60 is decent - for the price these are good, I still think they look a tad small, but they're not much smaller than the actual RD hands. Of my hands Soom is by far the best (they used to be John's hands and I mourn his loss now that they're too small), they're worth their price tag.

EDIT: I forgot to add that the Dollzone hands are my least favorite. They're snappy and don't pose well (as you can see, I could not even get the little finger to straighten out). I never tried wiring them, I am not sure it would do anything and it hasn't been worth my effort. I have wired the DK hands. Sometimes it's more of a pain. It pokes out and stabs me. DK is nice, but the poses are kind of loose. I think it's the slender fingers, but that's just my opinion.

OT: I would love it if someone had Doll Legend hands. I want to know how they are.

Even more OT: I spelled Granado wrong and my computer fixed it. It used to substitute some other word...I guess I've typed it so much it's a word now.

 

@VampireAngel13 The photos and information def helps a lot So far the smaller dika hands seem to be the best price wise from that selection. It will good once we have at least 3 more company hands for comparisons too as I'm working on getting them currently since our last chat about hands.

Also about the body hands. the 03 body actually defaults comes with those hands we were comparing to. The other ones have a different set that you actually would need to buy the 03 default hands separately if you wanted them. I did a bit of research into it a bit ago when I was looking at Senkai's outfit since his shoes have a different type of feet too.

I’m thinking of getting some eyes for my new boy while I wait, but I have no idea what his eye size is as I can’t find the eyes or head sculpts separately. Wo Long Anyone have a clue? Lol

I second this question no where says the eye sizes. I have a Wei Wuxian and his default grey eyes might as well be black need some grey/lilac eyes and some nice grey ones for my grown Hui. Anyone have suggestions one the sizes these 3 guys use? I am assuming they use the same size

 

I do think the safest size would be 12mm with wwx. I’ve also seen other Ringdoll sculpts use these eyes. I remember reading somewhere that wei wei has pretty small eyes. Have you tried measuring the eyes they came with? On the other hand this says 14mm is pretty Gucci as well /doawiki/index.php?title=RingDoll_Ring_Grown

 

I don't have any of the newer heads (my newest is Senkai) so I can't answer, but I have 10s in my Norman, 12s in my Norman Dark, Raven and the K's (the smallest size they came in was 12 or I'd have gone down to 10 for K and ND. Raven has big eyes, he can do 14s ok but I like smaller eyes). I don't remember what's in my Nair (but he also has big eyes), Senkai has eyes I made so no clue and my Kays eyes were drilled out so that's no help either.

I feel like I need to hunt some down second-hand now just in case something happens to the 7 I have.

 

My Sols use 14small iris, I think K and Illya both have 14 smalli too.

NO K? OMG, the last time I looked he was still there under parts and now he isn't and Illya is gone too.

Go for 12 mm eyes. My Ringdoll Lucifer came with 16 mm eyes with the full set. But just were WAAAAY too big. He’s got small eyes as well and 12 looks perfect. My other Ringdoll boy, Xiu, also has 12 mm, and for him perfect as well. I don’t think it differs that much between their sculpts.

Maybe those missing sculpts are available just not listed? The new site confuses me. If you look around it's not there but a direct link still works. Did that awhile ago with an outfit linked from a blog.

 

I asked bjddivas if I could still get K from them, and they said yes! So I'm finally putting his head on layaway. I can't risk losing out on my grail in the color I want. He's going to be tan! Body hunting will be difficult, but I'm probably not going to have to worry about that for at least a year, looking at waiting times.
