Ring Doll Teens

I was wondering if anybody here had a Dian~ I'm really considering getting him but can't find owner pics anywhere. If any of you can help me out it would be very much appreciated~ thanks again

 

I have a Dian named Belze who I'll be glad to share. He's my only RD in normal resin.

Your belze is very handsome! I just ordered my Dian last week I'm naming him Tadashi! but I have to wait for MOC to put in the order on may23rd I'm still excited none the less I will just spoil my Lydia until then

I have plans for one more teen as of right now...but that's it. Really, I wouldn't mind having one of each teen mold. I just love them all!!

Akai- what type of jointed hands are those? I'm having a hard time finding ones that fit on their tiny wrists...not to mention I have the old translucent resin on my pan. Would love to see how those look in person too, if you're at all planning on coming out to Bristol this year, you know where I am. ^_^

 

Teseya: They are Dikadoll hands...and they don't match at all really, but they fit PERFECTLY and I love them. I'll try to bring one to the faire but...gosh darn these Ringdolls are heavy! I find the hands look best with the wrist covered. Then your brain makes it look closer in color. (like on the boy in front. )

 

Cool. So Dikadoll girl or boy hands? SD? Yellow? Pink? I usually don't like dikadoll hands, but I like the ring doll hands less. And I can so do fingerless white gloves for his character. For faire, I suggest a tote bag or a basket works great to relieve the arm holding.
Oh, and the one in the front is my favorite of yours

Hi, to whoever who are familiar with the Ringdoll products, recently Ringdoll had already changed their resin type and I owned two Ringdoll dolls- one Julia and another is Andrew. I absolutely love both of them but I would like to know if they yellow faster than the older dolls which are made out of natural resin. I hope someone can answer my question. Your help is much appreciated.

Just a mention that there was nothing more "natural" about the earlier resin - just purportedly less hazardous chemicals involved in the use of it, hence the "environmental" claims. The only solid natural resin is amber!

Someone above mentioned not being able to find coated wire - go to a chain home improvements store, like Home Depot. Coated wire is sold by the foot/yard and is usually found on huge reels in one of the aisles bordering the lumber sections. They have copper inside - a single solid core of copper will be firmer, but may eventually get brittle with a lot of bending back and forth. Multi-strand copper cores make for a softer wire, but if you can go up a size or two, will be just as good. Even if they look strangely at you, take a doll part with you, whichever will have the smallest channels, with a bit of elastic in it, so you can check for gauge. I used to know what size to get from an old tutorial/discussion thread on here, but am not sure anymore until I find my cheatsheet!

Hello everyone. I'm wondering if anyone here have the RT3 body? I'm considering to order a pan with this body just for the sake of making him taller. Not to mention that it looks yummier (gosh pardon me that sounds so perv) and the waist is not as slender as the previous body. How does it in any way better than the previous one?

 

The T3 body does look nice! But they're only showing it wearing briefs. I would love to know if it has a hip joint, or if they've gone higher up with the thigh joint like some companies are doing.

 

after being returned to sender once and 5 months in the mail...Philippe finally got his hands! They are Dikadoll normal yellow (so pale compared to him) and he is a Ringdoll Pan (old resin)


I need to make him a holster now for that gun. And still waiting on his preorder boots.

 

I was wondering, for anyone who has bought a Ringdoll with default face-up, are the face-ups pretty close/accurate to the promotional pictures? Even though there will always be differences in each face-up, I've still been trying to compare owners' pictures with the company website, and it's hard to tell.

When I got mine, the faceup was pretty close to the pics...I just didn't like it as much...too much gloss. Philippe now has a custom faceup by someone else.

And I have a request. Can someone give me picspam of the bodies? Mine should arrive on the 4th; he will be a hybrid with my Asleep Eidolon Sachiel head. The resin match should be good, but I want to see more pictures of the body and stuff. Just to give me a preview.

I was really disconcerted at the proportions when I first put him together, but the look has really grown on me. Now I can only hope that his body does some yellowing so it will match his head a little better. Geez. AE resin is a match for Ringdoll, but Fenir had yellowed more than I thought!

Hmmm....MoC isn't selling them separately. I know Jim & Lindsey are in China right now, so you wouldn't get an answer from them.

However, I learned that Ringdoll actually has a good English speaker now, so you might try getting in touch with them directly.

My Ringdoll/Asleep Eidolon hybrid Fenir has announced that he's a yamabushi - a mountain ascetic, also called a shugenja. He prefers to be called a yamabushi, however. He doesn't practice shugendo...

I'm making him a patchwork surplice right now.

On a side note, I got my RingTeen-3 body yesterday in tan and I was rather surprised that the tan of the Sol head I bought a while ago still matched perfectly. (The head is several years old)
Thought he doesn't have his correct wig yet, he's definitly fun to play with

Snowy: wow...so does the grownup head look okay on the teen body naked? Do you have comparison pics?

I finally figured out what was making Fenir's head so wonky. It all started with the big ring the body comes with, instead of an S-hook. I had to swap that out for a proper S-hook to make Fenir's head fit, and in the process, one loop of elastic slipped down into his torso. So his head wasn't on quite tightly enough. After some wrestling, I got it fixed without having to take him totally apart. Now he's just fine, though his proportions still look a little strange. (I've come to like them, though)

I'm also having a hard time deciding on a wig. I'm torn between the one he's wearing in the picture (dark, longish, falling in his eyes) and a couple of greyish and brownish spiky synthetic fur wigs. The former enhances his androgynous good looks - important, because his character is very good looking. The latter fit better with his lifestyle of asceticism. I don't think living wild in the mountains would be very kind to one's hair...Fenir's character is a yamabushi. This is an occupation that may be familiar to some RPG players by the name of shugenja. Yamabushi is the historical Japanese term for certain ascetics with potent magico-religious powers; a shugenja is a practitioner of shugendo, which evolved from the practices of the yamabushi.

@Redfaery: I don't have comparisson pics as I don't have a bigger body of Ringdoll, but I can take a pic of him nude on the Teen body, if you like.
For my taste this one (the RT-3) works out perfectly fine, which I 'blame' n the well-built body. I have slight doubts that he'd look as good on the RT-1 or RT-2.

Hmm... I guess with that kind of backstory deciding on a wig really is a challenge...
Have you given thought to a long fur-wig? You could tie it back so it's not 'in the way' while he does his 'living in the wilds' and make him look androgyn and handsome at the same. Also, I'd go for long, cause I doubt he'd care about getting his hair cut, no? Also long hair is more practical actually, cause you can tie it out of your face. Short hair keeps growing out and getting into your eyes... *totally not using personal experience as reference* ;p

Hi, guys, sorry to just bump in like this, but I'd like to introduce myself. Some of you might recognize me from other discussion threads (maybe) and if not, I like to modify dolls and do faceups and the like. Ringdoll is actually my favorite company (I got hooked after my brother brought home a Julia) and I've recently gotten the starts of my first Ring Teen. Mine is the RTB2 head (used for Julia, Andrew, and Eva) in white. She's had some light modifications to her eyes and will probably be a younger sister for my brother's Julia.

Yeah, that hybrid actually does work pretty well! Do you think that means that Teen heads could be put on the Grown bodies, too? I think that'd be really interesting.

Edit: I'm being a dummy. I HAVE a Ring Grown body and a Teen head! Though they're different colors and different genders, I could try the head on the body if anyone's seriously interested.

But I admit I'm kinda curious to see. The Teen heads are supposed to be smaller, but I think the bigger bodies aren't that much broader in size from what I remember, so it could totally work...

 

Well, this is my RTB2 (Julia/Andrew head next to the 2011 Frankenstein head (or the same as Sol, Kay, and Norman). I think it actually is too big. Dang. I think the Grown bodies have slightly thicker necks or something. The picture I took of my Teen head on the Grown body is super blurry (I don't have anything better than a phone for pictures) but it looked very pinheaded. I think the biggest difference between these two heads is the jaw/chin, which may have also made the Teen head look so small on the Grown body. They can wear the same size wigs.

 

Now that i see them, I agree. The Grown heads are longer, the Teens slightly rounder... Depending of wether or not it's looking extremply pinheaded or not, I think the difference in neck-size could be killed with a good dremel and a steady hand, while making the neck hole of the Teen head bigger ... :3

 

Aronzo and Snowy - The newer grown body RGM-02 has a 10cm neck diameter and the RGM-01 has 11cm so it may not be as big an issue with the grown 02 body. It is also slimmer all over too. I debated on whether to get the 02 for the younger twin but decided to go with what I know and got the same 01 body.

 

I thought to pop in and say that The new Teenager sculpt is really out done ringdoll. I never seen such an expression on a doll before! I don't think she is limited which is very good! She is something I'd love to own!

 

Hello Everyone, I Wanted To Ask Something. I Just Ordered The Mona Head & Wanted To Use It With A Boy Body. Would The Mona Head Fit On A RTBody-03? On The Site I See Teen Girls Have Smaller Necks Then Boy Teens. If Anyone Could Help I'd Be Ever So Thankful.

 

Steamwitch: My body is the 2013 Ringdoll Frankenstein body, which I think is very similar to the RGM-02. I could be wrong on that, but it is still really huge with the Teen heads.

 

Ah... I'm thinking to upgrade my Pan's body into RGM, but his head is kinda small, I think ? T.T

 

Ok So Again I Ask, Would A Ringdoll Teen Girl Head Look Fine On A Boy Body? I Know The Head Fits On A 9cm Neck & The New Boy Body Is 10cm. The Older Body Is 9.5cm. Its Only Half A CM But Still Would Like If Someone Could Share A Picture Of This So I Can See How It Looks

 

Its a good question, it would probably depend on the head and body you chose. I know for a fact the Andrew and Julia have the same head.

 

I Ordered The Mona Head But Want To Put It On A Boy Body. Maybe The RTBody-2 Cause The Neck On That Body Is 9.5cm

 

Ringdoll has at least one head that's used for both male and female dolls (the RTB-2, used for Andrew and Julia) so I would think it's safe to say that the heads can go on either body.

 

I Emailed Cherry See If It Is Possible For Her To Send Me A Picture Of The Mona Head On Both The RTBody-2 & RTbody-3. Hope One Of The Bodys Work Good So I Can Make My Mona Boy. Let You Guys Know What Cherry Says.

I agree that the RT-3 body looks better as it is. If you'd prefer a slim one thought, I'd recommend getting the RT-2 and sand off the neck a little, than it will work out perfectly fine as well. :3

You could say it's a light normal skin yellow.
It's similar to Island doll's color' island, if that's any help.

 

Whoaaa I just checked out the new Melody doll... But $641(!!!!) for a doll with a head that looks like Angell Studio head with a body that looks like Angel Of Dream (which is only $200)?? I'm sorry but Ringdoll is really out there with it's prices. You can get a LOT better quality and way better sculpted dolls for that money. Just my humble opinion..

I'm very sad to see that Ringdoll will be discontinuing the Pan sculpt, as he is one of my grail dolls I won't have the funds to buy him before the company retires the sculpt, so I guess I'll have to look into buying him on the marketplace. Sad to see him go, Pan is such an interesting sculpt.

 

@Kodakid: Try securing his head if you can? Ringdoll usually also takes layaway if you ask and it's reasonable. You can always get a body later.
