Just ordered a Tang body for a hybrid project I've been planning for a while now. The support over at Resinsoul was super helpful in helping me set up a layaway and estimating a price for my custom request (I needed a lot of arm parts, haha), so that's been awesome. Can't wait to see him all put together!

 

My second 61cm boy body arrived two days ago! I'm really happy with the colour, its really beautiful

Put in an order for my Sera, a Sui head on the Tang body, back on my birthday (December 28th). I am slightly worried I did something wrong, I'm in the US and chose the 'No Invoice" option because I didn't understand. I emailed Sun about changing it to include an invoice, but haven't gotten a reply yet, I'm hoping they're just out of the office for the new year or something. Has anyone had issues with the invoice thing getting through customs, or the lack thereof? I'm worried I won't be able to pay fees if I need to and I'm not sure what will happen to my boy if I can't.

 

I just ordered my first bjd! She's the ResinSoul Ju in Light Tan. I just adore her soft look and those ears . The wait is going to be unbearable .

 

Just found out the waits going to be 14 to 16 weeks Eh, at least it gives me time to get her some eyes and a wig.

 

I did no invoice, as well (because I didn't know what it meant either!) & paid in full, but emailed just in case since I had special requests for my order. Sun didn't mention anything & said my order should be sent out on the 19th I believe, so I hope it's fine for you! Have you heard back?

omg, people must have taken advantage of the promotion!! Plenty of time to plan and get her new home ready though, you're right!!

 

@TheLostPrincess Nope, not heard anything back yet, I'm hoping that Sun is just away from emails atm with the promotion going on and the new year happening and such and that I'll hear from him before my boy should ship on the 28th

 

that seems an awfully long wait. I ordered on the 28th and was told "about a month" which is standard for them, it's about 6 to 8 weeks in reality, in my experience. Did they get a massive glut of orders or something? Did you order direct or via a dealer? Because 16 weeks is pretty ridiculous.

 

I ordered through DDE, a few others on here have similar wait times from them. I guess it’s just a large volume of orders. The dealers tend to order a large number of orders at once from ResinSoul, so it takes some time for them to all be shipped together.

 

DDE seems to be extremely slow anyway. I never order rs from our uk dealer just because well, 1 it takes twice and long and 2 it's actually somehow more expensive (how does that work?)
I actually did the maths, I always do, and the quote I had from Sun with shipping was a good £50 LESS than ordering via dealer.
And yet other companies it's the same price if not less to go via dealer.
Whaa?
Like my Impldoll Order was literally the same price minus shipping. With shipping it was more from Impl, their shipping fee was quite high so it was about £10 cheaper to order it via dealer and I avoided any risk with customs fees as i'm not sure if they mark parcels down or anything.

Having ordered direct from RS 3 times already, I am fairly confident it'll slide through customs. It's always a gamble of course, but it's a gamble where the odds are in my favor. (*touches wood*)

Husband waited nearly 4 months for a rs order once, drove us both nuts. I was all "nope, never again."
Also I keep doing custom things which drive dealers nuuuuuts hahah. "I want this head on this body with these hands and this colour but with this bit this other colour"

I hope the wait is less than 6 weeks, because that's pretty crazy for Resinsoul. They really must order a HUGE amount at once.

I've got 2 dolls coming this time around. Nothing as complicated as my last one which required visual aids (lol) but with the christmas break etc it still might take a while.
Kindly, Sun allowed me to request a set of jointed hands that weren't for one of those two. I didn't want jointed hands for the boy as he's getting those clawed Sui hands which are beautiful anyway, so I requested a pair of girl grey hands for husband's doll instead lol.
I'm kinda used to all my dolls having regular hands, the idea of giving any jointed hands made me anxious (that's weird right?) and I know that if I got jointed hands on one, i'd want to do all of them and getting Nhar's hands cast would cost a fortune because he's a custom colour AND transparent and they're not doing custom colour mixing at the moment/maybe not at all.
Boo.

Anyway, hope everyone's waits aren't too long and stuff comes quickly and is perfect.

 

So, my girl arrived after 7 weeks
Sadly one of the ankles was broken, so I'm now waiting for a replacement ^^'

@MeredithAijou Awww, I'm sorry her ankle was broken! I'm glad you've got a replacement on the way, though, that's good. She's very sweet looking! Which sculpt is she, if you don't mind me asking?

 

Oh man this wait is driving me crazy, and I didn’t even order this doll for myself. I’m at week 10 out of 14-18 weeks because I foolishly ordered through Denver Doll. All to save a few bucks on shipping! Next time I order from this company I’ll be sure to do it directly.

 

I'm at 2 weeks and i'm already going nuts! I can't deal with wait times, at all.
I'm at nearing 3 months for the Impldoll order though and oh gosh it's agony.
How do people cope with these 6+ month waits!??

@meredithAijoi She's beautiful, hope her replacement part comes quick! My first doll came damaged too, a large chunk of one of his beautiful ears broken off. I wept.
They sent me a whole new head which was very lovely of them.

 

I'm waiting to hear back from Sun about a doll I'm ordering. I'm getting a Summer head on Xu's body and I'm buying some brown eyes for my Bei too. (Her purple ones just don't suit her as much anymore.)

I'm kind of nervous, because I sent my order email to Sun on Friday but I haven't heard back yet. I'm excited/nervous and I haven't even ordered the doll yet.

Hello~ I recently received a Bigger Boy body in coffee and I've just placed an order for a 1/3 girl body and 1/4 girl body, both in dark tan I've only seen it in photos but it looks like a beautiful colour, I'm excited. Already planning my next two bodies after these, I love Resinsoul for hybriding Sun said the shipping time will be a bit longer due to the lunar new year holiday though.

I noticed that too, I figure it's because she gets a discount on orders as a dealer but has to pay customs, so maybe because Resinsoul are so popular she bumped up the prices so she can make a profit? I can't imagine she makes a huge profit in general after customs fees! Or else maybe Resinsoul don't give her much of a discount and that's why she has to charge more. Either way, I think it's easier to just risk the customs fees when it comes to RS, they're not as expensive to start with so the fees are therefore not going to get as high as other companies.

 

I just got confirmation from Sun at RS that they shipped my Yi body.

I've ordered direct and via a dealer in the past, and both work for me.

I just ordered my next RS through Angelesque, though.
I've ordered a tiny RS Dian, in black resin, with a face-up.
I'm also thinking about a Bobobie doll, and since I have not had any replies to my e-mails to BBB, I may just order her through Angelesque as well.

I've had second-hand dolls being grossly overcharged by customs (and having all the hassle of trying to get a refund from them). I have had some packages get lost, too. And just now I had another company cancel an order after I'd paid and they'd confirmed and given me an estimated shipping time (and they still haven't paid me back). Going through a dealer means that *they* have to deal with that hassle. It's not half as nerve-wracking to be waiting for a package from the UK. (At least not until Brexit becomes a fact...)

 

Well, I can't remember when I ordered exactly but it was less than a month ago I think. Sun wrote today that my second batch of jointed hands have been shipped

I’m driving myself crazy, lol. Just got some new elastic and some eyes for her though, more time to prepare! (Three more months).

 

Well, my boy's tracking hasn't updated since the 3rd..... Does anyone else here ever have the problem where it just says "Posting" without actually ever updating? I'm having to use other sites to try and get more info, but none of them mention him being in the States yet

 

This happened to me once while ordering eyes. Ended up calling just to check and it turns out they got lost in the mail! I would check just to be safe.

 

He finally updated yesterday, he's in New York! I guess this sorta just happens with some parcels and EMS, the tracking is on and off, it seems (My Akagi boy from AC had perfect tracking, but my RS went MIA until yesterday)

I have just ordered my first BJD, and she's a Resinsoul Mei in dark Tan! Very excited, I love darker skinned dolls. Does anyone know if they take longer to ship out?

Also, what did you guys all do in the meantime, waiting for her to ship?

Edit: P.S. I don't think I received an email order confirmation or invoice, but I've been charged. Is that normal?

 

Congrats! My first doll was a Mei on a Rong body. I've had her about a month! iirc, it only took about a month for me to get her, but I'm in the US, so not sure how different!

I don't remember getting an email either, but I also had E-mailed Sun (at their admin email!) and they helped me through & were very patient with all my questions! (:

In the meantime I got clothes (research EVERYTHING, so helpful and less stress in the long run! ) and wigs and all the fun lil goodies saved up! I also starting creating her character(s) she'd be which was fun! Other than that though, it's so hard to wait!! But when she finally comes you'll be over the moon! I can't wait to see pictures! I love the darker skinned dolls too!!!

Yes, I'm very excited and have to hold myself back from going on an absolute shopping spree!! I kind of want her in a more whimsical outfit, but the dress I absolutely love is $80+ And boots are $50. Although I'm not sure, maybe that's a good price? The dress seems a bit spenny! And for the wig I'm looking for a large curly thick style. Need it before she gets here!!

Hi all! I ordered my first bjd just last month! She's a Ju head on the Rong body in normal skin. Im so excited! I ordered direct from RS on Feb 19th and Sun said it would take about 45 days to ship out. As far as I know this is a bit longer than usual because I made the order during lunar New Year. The wait is very hard but I'm having fun planning outfits and story lines. I'm already scheming for my next dolls to fill out the world I'm building.

 

They're taking a lot longer than usual I think, it's two months since I ordered and I haven't heard anything yet Although according to a business days calculator I'm only at 39 days so still within what they told me! Hopefully I'll get a notice this week!

 

Ugh I feel ya! I'm terrible at waiting aha. What are you doing with yourself (dolly-wise) to pass the time?

 

I've started wig making with alpaca hair and ramie so that takes up a lot of time!

Resinsoul didn't email me to say they'd shipped but I got a ransom note from customs last week and then a lovely bill so my order should be delivered tomorrow!

This does not bode well for me. I ordered February 19th and I was hoping to see her shipped sometime in the next two weeks. Looks like it will be more like a month.

 

My order included the Lunar New Year holidays which meant at least a week where RS were off work so yours mightn't be as long!

I placed my first order with RS on Thursday! I ordered a Su in purple/ lilac skin , jointed hands and high heel feet. I can't wait to receive her I love the purple skin tone and her lanky body. So excited!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who didn't get a confirmation email. I was worried a bit.

I placed my order on January 27th, but it's a very odd order (special skin and ears) so I expect to be waiting a bit.

 

Finally got a tracking update!!! I got the shipping notification April 9 and I was starting to worry because I hadn't gotten ANY updates on the tracking number. All the sudden she is on her way from NY to Minnesota! I never even got a notification that she had left China or arrived in the US I'm glad to know she isn't lost somewhere in the void.

 

Has anyone successfully changed their order for a doll they're waiting on? I think I might have left it too late, it's been about a month. I decided I wanted a different, thicker body for Mei. But I haven't received an email back from the customer service peeps.

 

Guessing there's lots of orders with RS? Always good to hear! When I got my Mei/Rong hybrid it came exactly when she was expected. Sun said my RS Yu would ship around April 6th....still waiting, no response to my email...getting a lil worried D:

I ordered some Sui dragon feet via email at the beginning of April ^^ They’re for a mod project I’m really looking forward to. I’m kinda happy/sad at the wait time, I’m really glad RS is getting that much business, but man, I hate waiting!

I actually only just realised she's single jointed aha. But I do love how smooth her joints look when she straightens her arms or legs, so I don't mind. I love her

 

Last night I snagged an in-stock Tang in light tan, from DDE. Not really an impulse purchase, as I've actually been planning to order him directly from RS. I don't even know what I was doing on DDE in the first place (just wandering I suppose?), but when I realized he was in stock...? In the color I wanted? Yeah, that purchase happened in about 30 seconds. LOL. The tracking updated earlier with a tentative delivery date, and he's supposed to be here Friday. So excited!

In other news, I have some jointed hands on order, directly from RS. It's been just over a month, and I'm definitely hoping to get a shipping notice soon. From reading through this thread a bit, it seems like they've been busy lately! Waiting is always a pain, but I'm SUPER happy to see them busy. They will always be one of my favorite companies.

 

Woohoo congrats! Usually that's how things happen in this hobby, you go from just browsing and looking around to buying a doll out of nowhere! The good thing about ordering in stock is that you don't have to wait forever to receive your dolls.

But he's here, and I am absolutely thrilled with him (definitely happy I made that purchase!). And absolutely, ordering an in-stock doll is pretty much the best thing EVER. If only they could all be home, so quickly!
