Resinsoul Waiting Room v.6

My order has been in Shenzhen China since the 29th, but showed up today in San Francisco. I also paid for EMS. Getting packages out of China can take weeks, even with EMS. This is quite a common issue. I have o idea why, but EMS does not have the same meaning in Chinese customs!

 

Yikes, thanks for letting us know - I hope that's not the case, otherwise I would've just ordered direct from RS rather than DDE. :/ But I guess we'll see!

 

My two RS Wu bodies arrived today. They arrived fine, nothing broken. The box was inspected by Homeland Security. My first package to be inspected in seven years, lol.

 

I ordered a ns, standard (aka non-custom) 1/3 boy body directly from RS on Oct 5th for a hybrid project, but I haven't ordered a new doll direct from a company in like a year so the wait is already killing me :P

It looks like from what others have said in this thread that I should be expecting about a 40-60 day wait huh? Lets hope it's not too long, I'm already itching to have it home and it's only been 3 days T_T

 

So @kurogane, your order shipped in just over a month then? Man, that's awesome. Of course you had to wait until it arrived, which took a while, LOL. But I think that is because EMS flies out of a few major city/ports and the hold up is the trip from factory to the main cities/ports. I don't think it's EMS that holds things up but Chinese mail. But alas, we must simply find our inner Chi and wait Patience Grasshopper (I say this to myself) I just ordered 4 pair of hands. I just looked at my order and noticed the colors I ordered. I thought I chose all NS, but I guess I ordered 1 tan, I guess hoping I could use it on a future doll? LOL, and 2 NS and one WS, so I guess I'm planning on giving that one to my daughter

What do you want to bet that RS hates me right now? I would hate me for making me make a bunch of fiddly jointed hands, LOL

 

@IngieBee lol, four pair! I think RS probably feels grateful as all their hard work developing the hands is paying off in orders. At least they come assembled . Please share pictures! The slowest shipping I've had is from China and Russia. Yeah, I think it's the Mail in each country, not EMS itself. One month waits are awesome!

 

Yah, they won't match my dolls, but I hope blushing won't be too hard. We shall see

When I ordered the two Wu bodies, Sun said it would be a month. I was like, what? A month for two msd bodies? No way! And it was true! Jointed hands are fascinating, but I dont have any myself. My favorite is the DC ones, jointed, but still elegant.

I'm trying to source transparent eyes. Not popular it seems. I saw some at a doll convention, but at $50, sadly not in my budget. I know how to make my own, but it would cost around $100 for the equipment (uv resin and uv lamp).

 

Well, I hope you can find somebody to do them! There does seem to be a lot of people who make eyes, so it shouldn't be too impossible?

 

@IngieBee I was able to get a pair of transparent eyes from Safrin Doll on Etsy. She did an amazing job!

 

Perfect, @kurogane ! Sounds very cool. What will you do with them? Have you thought about putting an LED light behind them?

Well, my Sophia is all paid for and as of yesterday will be shipped within the week. So excited! I'm expecting a much longer wait on my Mirodoll since she's dark-skinned so I'm really focusing on Sophia. Once she's here I'll be able to start on her face and wig and begin turning her into Imogen. It's the greatest feeling, knowing that she'd paid off and on her way to me - my very first ever BJD!

I know she wasn't very expensive in terms of the hobby and I didn't have to pay her off over months and months, but when it's your first I think it's always going to feel like it's taking an age, right? I'm trying to stay below a certain price line with each purchase so it never takes me too long to pay off and the wait doesn't have to be ages. I'm not going to lie - I worry that if I make a long layby on an expensive full doll I might see something that suits me better and might even be cheaper (which would be the worst combination) if I do wait too long.

That's probably not the best characteristic to have in this hobby but the point is: Sophia will be shipped to me this week some time!

 

It has been just about 5 weeks since I ordered my Bao from DDE... waiting for the notification that he's arrived since I opted to pay a deposit down and the rest prior to shipping. But I know it can easily take much longer, especially since they have to ship him to Denver and then to me. But I am insanely impatient!

 

Congratulations @Vexxed! I remember when I got my first bjd and the shipping wait was the hardest part. I just wanted to see my doll so bad! I hope you get your shipping notice soon, and your doll arrives quickly. What sculpt did you get? Sorry I don’t remember. Did you get a special color? So happy for you!

Well, it’s been one month since I ordered my doll. Just a little bit more to go. Once I get the notice, my excitement will escalate as I’m really looking forward to seeing the transparent resin.

 

I got the RS Sophia. She's 60cm and the skin tone is just normal. My other one I['m waiting on is a Miro Doll who's dark chocolate though. I'm impatient to get her but part of me is glad I have time for the few things I ordered for her to arrive!

 

Sooo I emailed DDE yesterday and they informed me that my Bao would take at least another 7-9 WEEKS to arrive. I told them that was fairly ridiculous considering the company turnaround time is less than 6 weeks typically. And if I had realized that I never would have ordered through them (which is true). They allowed me to cancel my order. :/ Kinda bummed but heck if I'm waiting that long for a doll that should take a month. Trying to decide if I want to order him direct through RS now or not. At least if I do I'll probably have him before Christmas.

Note to self. Never order RS through DDE again. Cool.

 

Got my shipping notification literally 10 minutes ago when I meandered to gmail to see if Mirodoll had replied to my e-mail yet (they hadn't).
I'm super excited about it but I have no idea what to expect in terms of shipping time. It's being sent from China to Australia via EMS, and in my experience delivery time from China is usually quite long.

If anyone who's Australian and has ordered through RS (or lives a similar distance away) can give a guesstimate of how long it might take to arrive I'd really appreciate it! All I really know for sure is that things from China seem to arrive faster here than they do in the US.

 

My doll arrived 2 days ago, but unfortunately she has a broken finger. Thankfully Sun is sending me a replacement hand. None of the things I bought for her (just some sneakers and some more eyes that are for my Miro Doll Mika when she arrives) have arrived yet so all she has is a very simple tube dress and a pair of eyes. Tomorrow her wig cap should be finished and I'm hoping to have the wig done by the end of the week.

@EstrieThirston yes, I don't know why it takes so long with DDE, but I tend to save $30 a doll on shipping, which I can then spend on wigs, etc... . They gave me an estimate of 4-6 months, and I'm also feeling sorry I went through them

But that was for impledoll. I'm at 27 working days right now for jointed hands. I can't wait to get them!!!

@IngieBee wow, the wait at DDE is long! But if it does save on shipping, I can see the reason to go with them. Your jointed hands should be ready soon. I can’t imagine stringing them! I tried restringing a DC tiny once, I really would love to know how they do it.

 

Well, the jointed hands I ordered directly at least, and they just wrote me back! They just shipped them today!!! I can't wait to play with them, LOL! Of course, it'll probably take a while before they get here, but it's always nice to see movement!!!

Yah, I've been wanting jointed hands since I first heard of them years ago! I'm so thankful resinsoul makes them at a reasonable price, and they get fantastic reviews!! So I'm almost as excited to get these as I would be for a doll!!!

I got a shipping notice for my transparent bjd! I can’t wait to see him! He’s my last full bjd, so it will be exciting and sad .

Super fast shipping as my guy was delivered today! I took box opening pictures and will try to do a proper box opening tomorrow.

It's strange, but my jointed hands landed in customs in New York??? I live on the west coast! I guess they flew it over Europe or something, LOL. So it's still a few days away from me I guess

 

so i ordered two bodies and and an msd boy. sun told me my order would take a month. now i dont want to seem all over the top but i am concered as one of the bodies i ordered required my lumedoll saiphs head cap to match the color. my question is: a month? does that mean business days or four weeks? cause if its four weeks than a month would be nov 12 but business would make it nov 22.

 

My recent two orders have been 4-6 weeks including shipping. I guess Sun is working hard because I’ve been getting email responses even over the weekends.

@IngieBee that is odd your hands are going through the East Coast. Maybe it was the size of the package? I hope you get them soon. I hate waiting once I get the tracking number. Especially when it doesn’t update, or goes on a tour!

 

My boy's body arrived yesterday! I sent an email to Sun on the 8th asking for any updates, and the body was sent to me that day It arrived in perfect condition, with a lil COA and a carrying case! I've never had a doll bag so I'm pretty hyped about that :P

are they realy?! ive never gotten one with my big guy. dde just sent sebastian in a padded gold bag and a blue box. tyler came in a nice leather case but after six years is started to crumble or like flake apart. i hope my new ones come in a nice case.

 

Well, it's been a long time since I bought from them... My cases were / are brown fake leather and inside, the dolls are wrapped in a yellow satin pillow/blanket. I just store my dolls in them, so they don't get heavy use. They're still like new. Around 4 years old.

 

My jointed hands arrived! I somehow bought male jointed hands instead of female, but they are actually a better size for my Iplehouse SID and the male hands are not very masculine either, so all is well . I still need to blush them to match the bodies. But I don't think it'll be too hard.

i emailed RS last night asking for an update and still havent heard anything. im starting to really panic. they have my head cap to my discontinued lumedoll saiph head

 

Thank you. How long has it been? I've sent a question to another reliable company, and they still haven"'t responded after 5 days. Has Resinsoul acknowledged the receipt of your headcap? Just so you know, people usually go to the paint store, fit d the color that matches the resin on the paint "chips" or cards, and then send those in instead of an actual item. Or they simply send in the code number. I sure hope they write to you soon! I can't imagine the anxiety!

 

its been a month. they finaly replied a few minutes ago. five days?! id be freaking out.

paint swatches. why didnt i think of that?! that would of been so much cheaper and a lot less stressfull.

has any one recived their tracking and when yu go to track it, its been saying stuff like “dispatched from sorting facility” for like days with no update or anything?

That's usually just the postal service. It depends on where it's coming from too. I have a head coming from Germany and it's said Leaving origin facility for about a four days now. It'll usually pop up closer to where you live in a few extra days.


Meanwhile, I'm over here going on 5 months waiting on my RS boy and a Mnf body I ordered last month has already arrived at DDE.

 

@Belaraphon FIVE MONTHS?! holly cow!!! im shocked DDE usually only has a two month wait for RS dolls. my dollleaves boy took two and a half months. but my dong only took two months.

urgh waiting is the worst! im so done with waiting. i hope they do pop up soon near me or at the very least in NY. usuauly they go there then down the coast to me.

 

14-16 weeks is what I was quoted. I'm eager to get him but I have other things that can take up my attention until then. It may just be in the future i go directly through RS themselves ::shrug::

Especially if it's coming from outside the states the shipping can be wonky. It'll tell you when it's left the country of origin and it'll be two to three weeks of nothing and then, BAM! It's passed the international terminal and is at your local P.O. Happens all the time when I order. I just write it off as the postal service is chaotic neutral.

 

@Belaraphon lucky. im pretty much focused on tracking. i feel ive waited long enough. i sent my head cap out which took a week longer than it was supposed to and then of corse the waiting for the actual order to get done. and then for it to ship. too much waiting! i was told a month i dont think i could wait 14-16 weeks.

but fingers crossed that it shows up any day!!!

I liked my Resinsoul 60cm boy body so much that I ordered another one in Coffee skin for a hybrid I haven't had two of the same bodies in YEARS so I think I'm gonna sand down the NS body's abs so that it is a bit different from the Coffee skin body haha :P I'm thinkin about getting different hands for the NS body too, not cause I don't like the RS hands, but more because I don't like the idea of the bodies having the same hands.

I'm not sure if you ordered in time for the promotion, but they're giving away jointed hands with every purchase, so that could solve your different hand problem!
