@Pandy Haha, I typically send the head to be painted within a week of receiving the doll. Usually, because I've already talked to the artist and filled out a form by the time the doll has shipped. And this time I got lucky, and the artist actually asked if she could paint her when she arrived, because she's generally not open for public commissions.

And as far as the fast in part, I sure hope so! Waiting range is estimated at 1-8 weeks. I'm generally patient, though.

I'm pining. I just really can't do this wait thing. It's the one part of bjds that just isn't "me". I mean, I struggle with a 2 week wait, 6 weeks is horrible. I'll be worse with even longer waits from other companies.
I think next time I really need to go for something that's already "in stock" for my own sanity lol.

I'm at 9 weeks and loooooooooong past restless >_< Not even a shipping notice yet and it was just a pair of hands and a pair of feet. Rather hoped it could be accomplished faster. Good luck with your wait! I'm sure it's going to be that much more worth it when your new baby arrives

Husband waited a good 3 months for his girl via a dealer, not sure what happened there but the whole order was massively delayed getting out to the dealer so the wait was immense.
Way too long for my patience.

I suspect the wait times are really going to be the one thing that kills me about bjds. I'm not a patient person. In fact, to ease the pain of waiting a little I bought 2 off topic dolls to tide me over lol. One is HUGE (she's 19inches tall) so it's gonna be interesting to see what stuff she fits into.

So i'm thinking my next couple on my wishlist I might just try to buy secondhand. It's not usually much cheaper, but it would ease the wait time... problem is, I tend to want fantasy colours and those don't look to come up on the market that often. Boo.
I think i've seen maybe 3 in the past year that weren't tan or white or NS. Is it just that people don't buy fantasy colours or that those who do never part with them?

I feel for you guys that are still waiting, hopefully it will be over soon! My longest wait was 4.5 months, so far, which was for my first dolls and it nearly killed me, lol. Right now, my doll is still at the face-up artist, so more waiting. But soon...soon I will have her all together.

 

Well we've hit 4 weeks since ordering.

Better than the year waits some companies have, but still eugh.

Hope she arrives soon! It usually doesn't take long once they dispatch.

I'm end of April so I don't expect to hear anything for at least another few weeks.

Interestingly, someone who ordered the same day as me has had their dispatch note. Now I never get dispatch notices but also as i've ordered 2 dolls, one of which is a bit complicated, I fully anticipate waiting a little longer htan someone who's getting something more "off the shelf" but fingers crossed.

I've been utterly disorganised about wigs and stuff. The wig I want for the boy (Who I think is going to be called Credence or Silas) is only available one place and will take several weeks as it needs to be basically custom ordered. DOH.
The wig I want for my girl I just haven't found yet. It should be a simple task, brown, wavy, no bangs but can I find one in the UK? Heck no. And I rather object to paying more than the cost of a wig for postage.
She might end up with a liv wig instead. *sigh*

I also need to order her mandolin.

Usually I at least have stuff ordered by this point but I dunno, this time I was lazy.

 

I just finished paying my layaway for my Rong, and I got an email saying she should be shipped out this week! I have eyes and a wig and clothes for her, so she'll be ready to go when she finally does arrive! I'm so excited, the wait begins!

 

Just got my shipping notice, she's on her way!!

 

Sun said my order should be ready to ship next week. EEEP. I feel so unprepared!

 

Ahhh, Sun just sent me an email saying my Lan has shipped! That was super quick too, since I placed my order on the 16th of May. The excitement!

EDIT: She arrived on the 27th of June. Might post a box opening soon!

 

got my shipping notice too! Phew, that was a bit of a wait. Ordered end of April.
So.. let me see... sent today, tracking lists it as being "accepted" which means it'll be picked up from them at some point today I assume sooo will set off sat or maybe even monday.

Now my last order took 6 days to get here from China.

that means 22nd or 23rd provided customs don't hold it. So next week.. ish. Hopefully.

Now it's time to wait for the arrival of my Rong/Yao hybrid in dark tan (I just ordered her this week, but planned to achieve her already back in 2014 ).

But damn, I should've looked into this thread before, I didn't know that they also have black resin now And that they're willing to sell bodys with differently colored resin bodyparts grmblmnf.........hooves in black resin would've been epic

Well... after seeing pics of purple_monkfish's Cree, I took the plunge and ordered my very own four-armed Resinsoul! She'll be a purple Yao that I'll mod very slightly to take a Lu head! I finished the payment already, now just the waiting... aka the hardest part! haha

This is my first time here! I've ordered my first Resinsoul-- I chose Ju in Blue! I can't wait!

 

Today is 101 day mark and from news I've gotten my order is still no where near shipped. Blah. Never ordering via this method again, lol. But I am excited to see everyone else getting their orders still! It gives me hope

@purple_monkfish I ordered through Denver Doll and only a pair of feet and hands so this kind of wait time seems a tad silly to me, even through a dealer. Last I checked with them, their December orders aren't even in yet.

 

Wow, they must have had a HUGE order then, that's crazy.
Husband had a huge wait going via a dealer as well which rather put me off doing it. I decided i'd only buy through dealers who I know will have stuff stopped by customs, but with rs it seems to get ignored.
He waited like 3 or 4 months in the end, in fact I ordered a month after he did (but direct) and got my doll about 3 weeks before his arrived which was ridiculous.
Still, a delay of a few weeks is one thing, nearly how many months now? 5 or 6? that's frankly unacceptable.
Especially for such a small thing. It must be being held up by either a huge order or a really really complicated one.
What has Denver said?

 

My Winter arrived this morning. I'm chuffed, he looks nearly exactly like the photos on Resinsoul's site. Also ordered two sets of horns, and they are beaiutiful, too! I'm very happy that Resinsoul worked with me to get the boy I wanted when the options weren't clickable. I emailed them about what I wanted (transparent orange resin) paid a few dollars extra for it, and got it. Resinsoul Winter by Joy La, on Flickr

 

I ordered and paid for a doll directly back in early June, and I'm still waiting! At least I've got the forums and pictures to keep me occupied. Does anyone know if that's a normal wait time from ResinSoul, or long or short?

@Joy LaBelle Oh how cool! The opaque face on the translucent head-backing is a super unique look I haven't see before, and the translucent looks great!

 

I ordered him on June 5th, if that helps any. I'd email them soon if you don't hear from them, but I have ordered from them before and got my delivery without an email before, so...it's possible it's in the post, but who knows.

And, I know, right? The bottom photos for Winter were of him with the transparent orange resin and the opaque face. I emailed them immediately and said, "That's what I want!" and it looks very similar! Also, I just realized, he had a little nameplate on the head now that says Resinsoul AND he came was a COA! I didn't know they'd started doing that.

 

I just put a short layaway plan for the little Yu doll in coffee skin. How long does it take for Resinsoul to respond to emails?

 

Hello all. I'm just ordered my first BJD from DDE. It was an instock Gang. I have another doll on layaway, but I don't know how I could handle the wait if I didn't have the Gang coming. Has anyone had to go to the DR for anxiety? I'm being serious. I think I might have to. I'm just wondering if anyone else has this problem.

It's been 84 days since I ordered a purple Ariel directly from BBB on the RS Li body. =/ Longest I've ever waited for a doll except the DDE Fairyland one that took 6 months. (Ordering through dealers is bleh XD)

The head I ordered with my big dolls in February also took about two and a half month so BBB is reaaaaally slow.

 

I just got a notice from DDE my Toki fullset is in. I ordered him the first day of the event. He came sooner than I expected him to.

 

i just placed a layaway for a Yi body is WS! Super excited, hopefully it will make a good match for my DZ Morley head.

I'm waiting on a Song boy in grey, no faceup, ordered Aug. 20th from DDE. From the trend I've been seeing in wait times I guess it'll be a while. Ah well. I can focus on making clothes then.

 

I'm surprised how long the wait times have become, it used to be around 40-50 days with RS. I had to order from Bobobie since I wanted an Ariel head and it's been 100+ days now. They must be super body now that custom orders are popular?

 

I'd say that's a factor. It could also be that more people are seeing potential in sculpts that normally would have been snubbed. Also the fact that they are affordable good quality dolls to boot.

 

That's because we can all directly write our doll purchases in the second sheet of this thread below headline and paging, called "Waitlist" So there is no longer a special format for posting here necessary. It's up to you to write your entry in there. And it's at least up to date until July/August as my Maeve arrived

 

I would have gotten my custom order by now if I hadn't added on some last minute pairs of msd jointed hands....*sigh* So it's my own fault my order will take more than 5 weeks. Considering most other companies are still 4-10 times that?

 

BBB are just really really slow. they've become worse and worse to the point they don't respond to emails and even dealers are having problems getting them to acknowledge them. It's not popularity in their case, if anything they've put off a lot of potential customers with their wall of silence. They just don't seem to give a damn.

Resinsoul though? They're doing well. They're super affordable and the go to for people on a budget I think, because everyone thinks "RS" whenever they think "budget", they're always reccomended and that means more and more sales for them.
Which is great for them, but means longer wait times for everyone. Still, it's about 2 months on average for Resinsoul.
BBB is "when they can be bothered"
(you can probably tell i'm not hugely impressed by BBB's recent behaviour. I've tried to email them a half dozen times over the past year and never once had a response, i'm greeted with a huge wall of silence, just as most everyone else is. Which makes me think "screw you then" and not wish to deal with them. I think it's unacceptably rude not to reply to customer queries, but sadly, that's what they're like. Even Junky Spot when I talked to them told me "be prepared for a really long wait from them and no communication". So yeah.)

I ended up getting my ariel secondhand, it was, I knew, the only way i'd get her because BBB didn't seem to want my money. *sigh*
Honestly at this point I think RS are propping BBB up, they have the better customer service and so unless it's one of the very few BBB sculpts, everyone goes through them.

Annoyingly, I still really want a Weylin, argh.

 

I wish RS could take BBB's sculpts and not the other way around. I don't think I'll ever have a fantasy skin-toned Apollo...oh well...

 

Yeaaah BBB is really in the dumps, I've sent them a lot of emails asking about stuff in the past and never any replies. It's like they don't want money? I wish I didn't want such an Ariel hybrid, but at least this will be the last time I need to deal with them.

I'm resigned to only getting bbb sculpts secondhand, which means settling on colours. Oh well.

 

Welp, I'm back here again! Just ordered a RS Bao in grey to be the little brother of my grey Song. Kinda bummed it seems that the wait times have gotten long, especially since I ordered through DDE so god only knows how long it'll take now. My birthday is November 11, let's see if he can arrive before then!

 

One month down, more to go. I'm not in any hurry, but the shortest wait will be greatly appreciated.

 

i ordered my resinsoul custom Yao with extra arms over a month ago. she is being shipped in a few days. im so exicted!

 

My order has been shipped! I also ordered just a month ago! Wow, so fast! My order is two Wu 1/4 male bodies (one purple, the other is normal skin). Now I'm thinking of ordering another doll (rolls eyes). A clear resin in 1/6th size. My dream is to have a clear bjd, now is the time to get one I guess. Well, before Chinese New Years anyway.

Emailed Sun this morning asking questions about ordering a transparent doll. I was wondering if the 1/6 Deertaur heads fit on the 1/6 human bodies. I thought they would, just making sure. Well, Sun got back to me this evening -on a weekend, and said yep the heads will fit. So it looks like I'll be ordering a Summer head on a Xu body in transparent resin! Going to wait till Monday, just to give myself time to make sure of the head, but I'm definitely ordering one.

 

Do jointed hands count here? LOL. @jamie5m how long did it take from ordering to shipping please?

I don't have any orders I'm waiting on from resinsoul, just figured I'd share this tidbit because I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere.
Ordering resinsoul through a dealer can take months longer than direct if they order through bobobie. At least, that's the answer my gf got when she asked DDE a few months back because that's how they do their ordering. I can't speak for other dealers but I figured it may be helpful to some people.

 

Anyone else having issues with deliveries at the moment? My resinsoul order has been sitting in hong kong for 5 days even though i paid for EMS...
