Crafty, yea Rong is a gorgeous sculpt. I love that big nose.

Kerantli, have you tried watercolor pencils for faceups? I can't wield paint to save my life, but the pencils make eyebrows and thin lashes so easy. Plus if you mess up, just wipe with a damp cotton swap and start over.

Dscokween, I buy my shock cord from theropeguy1 on Ebay, but there are plenty of other places to get it from.

Ultraviolet, lol, RS dolls seem to multiply like bunnies. I'm up to 4 and planning at least An and Ju, if not also Han and Ya. Can't wait to see your Song and hopefully it's not a long wait for your Wu!

Beware, thank you! It wasn't so bad to pose them, but then it started to rain as soon as I was ready to use the camera and the lighting got all funky, hence the black and white. That's a fantastic photo! He's gorgeous and the color is amazing!

Kitty, haha, I'd ask you to share a photo of your RS family, but it sounds like that could turn out to be quite a production.

 

Max: I did try water colour pencils on other face ups, then they wandered off when I was doing Ryans, so was left with paint (that I had to go out and buy, since the Mr's black acrylic had dried up (Citadel paints, great for painting, bad for keeping for a few years...)

Oh guys! I completely forgot yesterday! I feel so bad! I got Fjäder November 1, so yesterday he has been with me for six months! Who knew I'd fall so completely for a 'cheap' second hand doll, that no one else wanted to buy and no one took pity on. I still remember the comments I got when I showed people my new resin boy, they all thought I was mad xD Now he's mine and I bet all those who thought him to be ugly and not worth a penny is real sorry, for look what potential I found in him :3 He's one of my most beloved dolls now, since he's taught me so much in this hobby. And also, thanks to him I found this wonderful thread with all these wonderful people in it ;D YES, I'm happy in my Fjäder!

I'm joining this thread as I have a RS Song coming in once I finish his layaway. My first doll was an RS Ju, and I have really missed owning one of their great dolls. So, I'm back!

And now a request: Anyone have pictures of a face-uped WS Song? It's been forever since I've painted a really white, WS doll, and I'd love some inspiration!

 

Elise is WS, albeit a bit yellowed. She has her company faceup that I added to.
(I know it's very faint, and she's due for a redo. Ole' girl is four years old now! Dang! Lol)

I just happened to be on Facebook when a Dark Tan Li popped up--she was a custom by Namiren, and PERFECT for a character I have been seeking for a long time. I snatched her up right away, so so so happy that the character ended up as a Resinsoul. I LOVE RS dolls, but I don't often get to play with them, as they haven't worked out for many of my characters yet.

Just got notice that the girl made it state-side, so I'm even more excited than when I first found her

Li spam? Li spam? Or Dark Tan Spam? Or any spam to celebrate the new one coming!

 

Kerantli, Sapphire and Maxtastic: thanks for recommendations. I live in Salt Lake City, so there are many climbing vendors about and even a few marine supply places, though I'm not sure about their offerings. I know what I'm going to do this weekend (I just said that in Finneas and Pherb voices in my head.) Thanks!

I'm unlurking to say that you are all killing me with your gorgeous dolls! I started out just wanting a Mei and maybe a Song. Now it looks like I'm going to need a lot more. I did end up ordering a blank Mei, so I've still got a long wait for her. But a light tan Sprite arrived this week. I'll share some photos once she has something to wear. Anyone have a blue Rong? I think I really need a blue Rong.

Hello all! Major lurker here to toss in some Qing spam since she's rather rare to see. I generally keep track of this thread and enjoy everyone's wonderful dolls (and stories!), but never participate (too shy...), but I thought others might be interested to see some additional Qing. I know I was always on the lookout for more before I purchased her. Anyway, here's my Peri:



I just finished sewing her new wig and thought taking a photo and sharing might be kind of fun, even though I'm a poor photographer and she is unfinished with quite a few changes ahead of her still. ^^

 

Kattunge - please post more! your Qing is so cute! I'd love to see more of her.

 

Kerantli - Honestly, it might just be the shoes she's wearing. I'm almost positive that I couldn't get her to do it barefoot. She stands on one foot pretty well with no shoes though. I did a body comparison with hers, my Doll-leaves and my friends Island doll who just arrived to me about a week ago.

 

Hmm, I may need to find shoes like that then. I found the boots I have (originally for my island doll girl) are too heavy for the RS legs, no matter how much I tighten the string

 

lol wow I'm planning quite a few more RS dolls myself I'd also love to get a Ya, everyday I get even more excited for my Song's arrival even if I have to wait till my birthday to open him and I hope to get a Wu soon

Ok guys I have a question I'm currently looking for some low domed eyes for my dolls, as I can't take the gaps in my Meiya's eyes any longer! (makes her looks strange from some angles NOT GOOD!) What good companies are out there that make low domed eyes (preferably glass or urethane) as I am really stuck. I'm grateful for any suggestions

Ultraviolet--I have ordered low dome glass eyes from Captured in Glass on the marketplace a number of times. You can even order them with smaller pupils if you want a smaller looking eye while retaining the fit of a larger eye. :3

Ultraviolet707, I have the same problem with my Qing--it is so frustrating especially since one sits just right while the other gaps rather horridly. The ones in her currently are 14mm low dome Captured in Glass, and I'm thinking of trying silicone and see if they would fit better (maybe try those since they "squish"?). Anyway, I wish you the best of luck in your search!

Maxtastic, lol Thank you--glad you like her! =] Sorry about your wishlist and your wallet though--hope they'll be okay. Although, I kind of doubt it--it seems neither do too well in this hobby...
