I haven't popped my head into the RS/BBB thread in awhile. But i'm back!

Jade, I much prefer the SJ body to the DJ. I have constant problems with the peanuts in the arms twisting around the wrong way and it frustrates me so much. Though, if you're a bit more patient than I am, the DJ body does have a really nice slouch to it due to the double jointed torso. Either way, both bodies are about 44-45cm. I'm not sure about the brand new bodies though.

MoNNeko, Happy Valentine's Day! I try to be very patient, but I'm not patient enough to send any of my dolls off for a face-up. I woudn't know what to do!!! I hope Terra comes home to you quickly!

Sapphire! I really enjoy reading Tyler's blog. When I joined the hobby, that was the sort of thing I wanted to do, but I'm always so busy I don't have the time to share the stories of my characters. Thank you for posting links when you update. You're kind of an inspiration to me.

I read that the heads are actually the same sculpt, they just have different earstyle and makeup. But I may be wrong.

 

Yay, new thread!
I've been busy with school, so there hasn't been much dollies as of late. Yesterday I changed Fjäder's (RS An) eyeputty from Souldoll's to silicone (LOVE) and tried out Tin's eyeco eyes on him. Lovely colour, but 11mm is a tad too small. Luckily, otherwise I would never had taken them out again xD

I wish I could go grab some new pics but I'm at work, waiting for my shift to start. Sapphire, congratulations to Sini and Tyler~ I read the short story for them too, and it was so beautiful! Do you have any of the other characters shelled? My phone is being a tool so I can't check. It won't let me scroll up and look. Lol I have to edit my post to comment on everyone else's stuff!

I do want to thank everyone for the lovely comments on my Fei and my modded boy. I will post my concept art for Keilah as soon as I can get the dang link pulled up on my phone.

The little one is adorable XD I'm a lameface and I totally made them something for the baby, but I haven't managed to get it to the post office yet... I'm sorry!! And the blog post was spectacular. I love reading Tyler's blog. It feels so real, and not like a doll thing at all.

Guys, my Tang body came today!! I love this body, it's so detailed. Even his feet are handsome! I put a Withdoll Aiden head on it It doesn't quite match, but that's an easy fix. He's also going to get extensive scar mods on his face and body. But now I have to go on vacation, I won't be able to play with him for a whole week I'm gonna go crazy!

I'm going to order my Wu next week, but I'm not sure which body to choose. I need for him to be able to slouch and I wonder if the DJ body is better at that than the SJ body. Opinions? Also, which one do you think has the shapeliest legs?

That blanket looks great! I SO envy your (and others') ease at mixing awesome colors together, it's something I really have to make a conscious effort to do (like today I am successfully not wearing blue and/or black poor dolls, no wonder they all have such monochromatic color palettes!)

 

Awh thanks. It would look much better if it wasn't for the bad dark flash cellphone photo. IRL it's VERY BRIGHT, soft, squishy, and stretchy. I figured that all the Aliens are so beautifully colored, what better for an Alien baby? Besides that, experts say that babies see bold contrasting colors much better than the "standard" pastels Hopefully Tyler and Sini will get good use out of it!

Moth, personally, I much prefer the SJ body because I have a lot of trouble with the arm joints on the DJ one. But if you're going for slouch, the DJ body is the one to get for sure. Congrats on ordering your Wu soon!

Hello everyone! I'm dropping into this thread hoping someone can answer my question... I've looked but it's near impossible to find it... Does anyone have a picture of a Tang or Sui human bodied doll next to an Iplehouse JID girl? I'm looking into getting a green boy with the human body to mod and turn into my reptilian captain but I need to know how the JID stacks up size wise. Not just height but girth as well.

SapphireStargazer My problem is that I hate to pay like $8 postage for something so little! I am hoping I can find a slightly oversized or square shaped greeting card of some sort to send it in, since it would be HUGELY cheaper. Its not that I don't have the money, its more the principle of the thing. Like, I know that for $8 I can send you approx 5oz worth of stuff, and the blanket is like 1oz at the very most! So I really need to go to the dollar store and see if I can find a nice card. Or make more things to make the postage cost worth it! Does anyone else over there need something, lol?

 

SapphireStargazer Basically, if its flat enough, it can get through as a card for less than a dollar, but if its not flat enough or too thick or the wrong size or shape, the minimum is like $8 for anything up to 5-6oz or so, and it goes up from there. In contrast, I can send a 6oz package all the way across the country from here for about $3. I just need to get off my lazy behind and take this to the post office, lol. Or I might just send more things so I feel like it's worth the postage cost! Does anyone else need something?

 

Oh hey a new thread started since I last checked. I had dressed up my boys for valentines and took pictures. This is my An boy as a cherub.



I actually popped in to ask a question since I was curious about something. Does anyone have any Leekeworld wigs? Theres one I want but i'm unsure about the sizing. Some places list the Leeke wigs as 6.5 and some list them as 6-7 or both. I wasn't sure if they'd be too small for his head since he's almost a 7. He's wearing a 7-8 off-brand now and its a bit big.

Is there anyone that can confirm for me if they're actually a 6-7 or not? I don't want to buy it just for it to be way too small, and I don't want to have to buy the next size up and have another loose wig either.

My boy is quite girly body-wise, so the Tang body wouldn't quite work for him unfortunately XD Thanks again, I can't wait to order him

Leader of the Rats: All my dolls who normally wear 6-7" wigs can wear Leeke's 6-6.5", including my An.

 

@Leader of the Rats: Naël (my An) wears a 7" wig wich is slightly too large for him, but I fixed that with a piece of velcro.

My An wears a 6/7 and fits in Leekeworld 6.5 just fine (he used to wear one, but grey wasn't his thing). Him and my Mei both fit better in that size. 7-8 seems a bit big on them.

Tang and Sui are fairly new, Stabbie, there aren't a whole lot of them kickin' around just yet. You might get better luck by posting a photo request thread. Generally speaking, though, RS dolls tend to be very slender. I don't know if the new body holds up to that trend or not, as I'm still waiting for mine lol.

I never did get to go back and edit my other post... I forgot how quickly the RS threads move. I just love seeing all your spam everyone! I lol'd at Girrl's pic XD

 

Thanks so much for the help guys! I don't know why they list them as 6.5 if they're actually 6-7. Weird.

This is the wig i'm getting. In the same color as pictured. Or, well, I was gonna get it, but I just looked at it again and that color is sold out. Oh well, I guess i'll be getting the 7-8 then and tuck it. When I get the money. Might just piggyback off of someone else's order when I do to save on shipping.

And thank you Sapphire! I tried my best to give him a sweet look because it fits the character, and it seems to have payed off. I chose the sculpt originally because of the wider eyes, more sweet and innocent looking.

 

Oooh, new thread while my boyfriend was here! I'm happy to report that he loves Maple and Grey...but something about Dylan kinda creeps him out (and he can't put his finger on what it is, so I don't know how to fix it *pout*)

Reslie - I saw the pic of your new Safrin nebulas! Holy crap those are gorgeous!!! They would've worked perfectly for Maple, but I've already got the DollShe Craft urethanes.

Good news is I received the other box from you with the FMD wigs. Thank you so much for the other lovely little treasures! Will have to have another photo day with Maple soon, and her two new wigs.
Haven't tried the black one on Grey yet, was kinda clinging to Maple a bit.


Also, I probably mentioned something already, but the boyfriend brought up some accessories that I'd ordered for my crew. Hope to take some photos with those soon as well ^^

 

Does anyone have a problem with the magnets coming out of the headcap?
I think I've reglued Aigidios' magnets three times. They just keep coming off.

rocketshipwalker, I honestly have the loose magnet problem with all my magnet-bearing dolls. (Gabriel, my Sprite boy, is old enough that he doesn't have any, but one of his kids (a RS Bao), my newest Mini boy, and one of my newest tinies all have loose or released magnets, as does one of my older tinies.) I think it's less a problem with the way any one company installs them and more a problem that the attraction between them simply overwhelms the glue, since my loose magnet cases have spanned across four companies so far! (Which makes them span "all the companies that have sent me dolls with magnets," honestly.)

What kind of glue are you using to put them back in? I generally use standard super glues to install them, though with a recent one I used a jewelry glue I happened to have out, as a test. Either one is solid enough that, if allowed to fully set, it should hold the magnet for a long time (though I've still had the magnets I've glued myself work their way loose).

 

Little belated, again.... but thanks for the words on SJ/DJ bodies! Reconsidering at this point, and not sure what im doing, yet... and I also need to look for clothes n a wig... ive had no drive to sew, and I dont want Mai to run around nekkie for a few months lol!

Gratz to Sini n Tyler! !! I was super emotional, reading the story, given my current situation, and sunday, though I didnt have the baby, stuff got real XD ! didn't get to attend my bb shower with my first, so the fam threw me another.... I was such a mess over it, youd think I had had the baby. Lol. - because I think I got my kittens crossed a bit, is the little ones bday the 14th or 15th? My beau's bday is the 15th ^^
