    3. My incoming boy's clothes and wig arrived today YAY! and despite them being second hand they are like new and are nice and clean brilliant condition! The seller was also kind enough to include a free T-shirt which is something I really needed but couldn't afford to get, shes super kind! I made a video about it on my youtube channel if anyone wants to seee :)

      Xaski, thanks for posting that! I was really interested in how the Illusion Spirit hands would look on the RS bodies. I was interested a while ago in getting them for my boys. The resin match looks pretty good. What colour resin are the hands?

      wintergrey - congrats on your girl's arrival! That's a cute photo of her! :) I also have a Mei on the Rong body (although mine is blue). It's a great combination, in my opinion.

      Kerantli, if I haven't already said so, congrats on Ryan's arrival! His new clothes look great on him. :)

      Ultraviolet, that is such a beautiful photo. :aheartbea I wish we had better weather here and some nice flowers. Unfortunately there are still a few patches of snow around here. Meiya looks very beautiful and happy there among the flowers.

Wataru & Joseph Have Dollzone Girl Jointed Hands & I Couldn't Be More Happy With The Size Of Them. The Resin Match Is Way Off But Some Face Up Artists Can Help With That. The Only Sucky Part Is DZ Dosnt Sell The Hands Anymore. Hopefully Later On They Will Do Another Re Release Of Them, Crosses Fingers.

    10. I'm getting some Dikadoll hands! It's for an incoming DZ body, but I'm hoping the resin match is good for RS which I think it will be! If it is I'll end up buying another pair for my future RS boys.

      Searching "Resinsoul Dikadoll" on flickr brings up some useful photos. I'm getting the female hands even though they're for boys since the female ones are slimmer and better scaled. The only problem is resin matching. I know the pink resin is suppose to match Resinsoul's NS and Dollzone NS-P, but if you have a coffee and white RS doll then I'm not sure if their yellow and white will match. Their YS matches Volks but unsure of the white. Blushing is always an option though!

      They're pretty well priced and nicely sculpted from what I've seen. I can't wait to get mine in even though I don't have the doll for them yet. XD

      gaiboiozz - the girl DZ hands really do look like a good fit for the boys. It's just too bad that the resin match wasn't closer. I think it was Maxtastic who had the Dika hands on one of her dolls, but I'm not sure.

      itzreeseybetch - did you make it from a tutorial or did you just make it up on your own? I would love to learn how to make one. My big Dollmore girl is just crying out for a pink one. XD

      Ultraviolet, what a cute video! Can't wait to see your Song. And Meiya is gorgeous. That's a really nice photo of her.

      Rinoa, Dikadoll NP is a really good match to RS normal and the white should match too as it's more of a paper white than other companies, but you'll def have to blush to match coffee. Dikadoll tan is darker and warmer than RS coffee. I can take a reference shot later if you'd like to see the tan against coffee skin, but you can see the tan against NP below. I don't have any jointed hands, but as Sapphire says, I put my Dikadoll female hands on my double jointed RS boy body to show the size difference. As you can see, they are a bit large. I think they still look cute though. I've tried to order just DK's standard hands, but sadly they don't sell them separately.

    21. Hey guys, I have a question. I've often heard Resin Soul dolls are loosely strung/bad at posing and my doll is no exception -- She currently can't stand because her legs are loose and I have not yet mastered how to restring her. (I'm gonna ask for help at my local doll meet this saturday) but is there any secrets you guys have to pose your dolls so well? :b

      Maybe I should try to wire her? :/

    22. The thickest elastic you can possibly string her with. I've got 4mm in my Yao's legs and 3.5mm in her arms. She's also been hot glue sueded in her shoulders and hips, but really, it's the elastic that made the biggest difference.

      Even partially strung her legs could stand on their own, with the default elastic they would just crumple. I never found wiring to be that useful. But that's probably just me...

    23. Gatomon, Sapphire can give you some great tips on restringing. I used her advice to restring all of my RS dolls and they all pose fantastically. Basically, she recommends using marine shock cord and stringing super tight. In addition to restringing, I always suede my doll with a hefty dollop of hot glue in all of the joints, which gives them a lot of stability. I still occasionally wire my RS dolls, but right now all of mine are just sueded and strung super tightly and they pose great.

    24. @Girrl @Max Hmm I'll have to order some more elastic. I am not sure what size Luci currently has. At the moment she's sitting next to me but her leg is ... odd. I honestly think I put the wrong thigh on the wrong side of the hips. When I restrung her the other day, one leg is looser than the other. I guess it takes practice.

      Her joints are sueded but not with hot glue. Thankyou for the advice, guys :D

    25. I have ordered some new wigs for some of my RS/BBB dolls. My bbb sprite, Saffron, is finally getting a new wig - her old one is rather tatty and I think she deserves a new one; and my RS Rong, Petal, is getting one also. I ordered last night from Marcia (facets by Marcia) and already have a tracking number. I am so impressed with her service, and I like her wigs.

    26. I have mine restrung with thicker elastic and hot glued - mostly the hip joint. My Valerian (RS Wu) can stand on one foot without problems. My Iruhi hasn't been restrung - I just tightened the elastic and sueded him, and I agree with what girll said - the elastic makes a bigger difference than the sueding. I need to get him better elastic (or shock cord if I can find it...)

      In other news: my dark grey Ariel/Rong girl just arrived, and she's gorgeous. I've dressed her in something temporary and put an old wig on her, and she's just adorable even in the hand-me-downs.
      I've been wanting an Ariel on a RS body for ages, so I'm really over the moon. Just wish I could share the pictures, but my Windows doesn't want to talk to my camera, and I can't reboot in Mac OSX as my computer is scanning itself for malware on the Windows side (I just did something stupid yesterday and my computer got infected...)

    27. Aww thank you! I took this photo way back in March in a lovely public garden I did a sort of Alice in wonderland theme. It was fun and scary at the same time because other people were there and I was scared they would stare and stuff but no one did phew! :) and wow you still have SNOW!

      Right everyone I have a question. My incoming doll is RS Song on the DJ male body I'm currently looking for some shoes for him but I have no idea what size feet the DJ male body has and what shoes will fit. Does anyone have any suggestions?

    29. Thanks Reslie! I'm pleased that you like Jex so much. :) A few people have commented that they now want a green/purple doll because of him. I feel very flattered and honoured by that. :)

      Ultraviolet       - you're welcome! Yes, we still have a few holdout patches of snow, but it's supposed to rain today so the last of it should be gone after that. I'm hoping things will soon start to get green instead of brown/yellow. Lucky people don't live in places where winter last 6 months of the year. ;) The first time I ever took one of my dolls out, I was a little nervous too, and people did stare at me. People stare at me with my dolls pretty much every time I take them out in public, but now I find it more amusing than scary. Sometimes it's obvious that people are just dying to ask about the dolls but, for whatever reason, they won't do it. When I was taking photos of Rommie and Michael in the park, one lady walked by me about five or six times and just stopped a 'safe distance' from me and stared each time and never said anything. Sometimes, people do work up the courage to ask about the dolls, though. I've had some really cool conversation with people that way. :)
      As to your question about foot sizes, all the old bodies, both male and female, have the same length feet. The SJ female foot is slightly narrower (about 2-3mm) than both the DJ and SJ male feet, and the DJ female foot is about 1-2mm narrower than the male feet. They can all wear shoes made for 14" Kish dolls, and the girls can wear shoes meant for Tonner Matt O'Neill & Lara dolls. (The boys can wear Matt shoes as well, but probably not with socks on). As Arashi says, ReleaseRain is a good source for shoes. So is PinkFantasy (mybayer2008 on eBay) and DollChris Doll Treasures (dollchris on eBay) are also good shoe sources.


      Regarding restringing I really can't expand much on what Girrl and Maxtastic have already said. I highly recommend marine-grade shock cord for restringing. It is the only thing I use in all my dolls now. You can get commercial-grade shock cord, but I don't find it's as good as the marine-grade stuff. Marine-grade shock cord is tougher, has a bit stronger tension than the commercial-grade stuff, and lasts longer. It is also UV-treated. I prefer 4mm size (5/32") for all RS mini torso/legs and I've also got 4mm in the arms of my boys. The girls may need a smaller size in the arms, and I find 3mm is sufficient. Actually, you can string any RS mini with 3mm marine-grade shock cord all around and they should be okay. My rule of thumb is that thicker and tighter stringing is always better.
      Currently, none of my dolls are sueded or wired. I have wired some in the past, but I've found the results aren't really worth the effort and the risk of potential damage. My best results have come from restringing and, occasionally, hot-glue sueding. I would suggest wiring would be a last resort, not a first reaction to standing/posing issues. I always try to do the least invasive and least potentially damaging thing first.

      -I use the shock cord as well and yep I think that is the best way to go for stability and posing. my SD dolls I have one that has electrical cord that is in her arms..haven't tried that out yet for the MSDs. Really need to get back to getting the rest of my crew restrung..so busy with other projects and hobbies and new dolls coming in (non RS..shocking I know..lol) But I swear I'll be working out some photo stories soon. Its great to pop in the thread though and see how everyone is doing. :)

      Kerantli - another cute pic! :aheartbea I currently have 4mm in Sini's arms too, and she's on the DJ female body. Hunter (Li body) could probably have 4mm as well, but she and Rommie (SJ female body) currently both have 3mm. I find the size of the arm stringing isn't as critical as the legs/torso stringing, in terms of stability and poseability. To me, where sueding really helps isn't so much in the ability to pose but in creating stability in joint areas that are prone to "wiggle" such as the hips and pelvic piece on the old DJ male body.

    38. I have just ordered Mai head in tan skin, song hands in tan skin, and rong hands in normal skin. BBB hands aren't as nice in my opinion as RS. Sun has reshipped my tang hands again... so I am waiting for them to arrive. I love Ariel on Rongs body... the dark grey is gorgeous.

      I really want RS to release a female with the newer double joint system. I know they are working on a female dragon so I am hoping that they will release two heads like they did with Tang and Sui.

      I'm hoping to redo Ryan's eyes and eyebrows when the weather decides it wants to give me a nice day, but for the moment, he's stuck with the bad eyebrows. (Also hoping for nicer weather to get more pictures of him with Isolde, and some how find him some jeans that will go with the t-shirt and hoodie)

      lol Kerantli! I don't think there's much middle ground when it comes to a doll like Piri. I figure people are either going to love him or just shake their head and go "wtf?" :XD: I'm glad you love his hair. I'm not too fussed if other people have strange/confused/negative reactions to him, though. I love him, and he lives with me, so that's what's important. ;)

But exactly as you say, he's yours and if you love him, then that is all that matters (and considering the only coloured skin I'd get is the coffee skin, all the more for others to get the more colourful skin tones that are out there, and for me to watch from behind a screen!)

    49. I got mine from Ebay dskokween. Not sure where abouts you are, but I'd say any outdoor sporting/climbing place should stock shock cord.

      Maxtastic - Thank you! I'm not too keen on his eyebrows at all. And as for his eyes, I have to admit, they're starting to grow on me now. I also think a Rong may be on the list of sculpts to get at some point, but a while down the line!

The boys are quite pleased at being admired, especially Piri who is exceptionally vain. ;) We're getting ready to go to a doll show on Saturday where I will be an exhibitor, so everyone's currently staking their spot in various carriers. I really should take a photo of all my blue and green resin folks...maybe when we get back from the show. Your RS crew looks great! That's a really awesome photo. :)

      Yes, you can buy it online. Kerantli is correct and you can buy it at many sports/outdoor equipment stores; however, the stuff you get from those shops is not marine-grade. The marine-grade stuff you can get locally from marine supplies shops. If you're landlocked or if you haven't got a marine store near you, than I'd say getting it online is your best bet. I highly recommend New England Ropes. A lot of stores carry their marine-grade shock cord.

      Sapphire: Well I hope the last of the snow goes away soon, winter for 6 months of the YEAR?? I couldn't I love summer too much me and the cold do not agree not to mention how much I dislike snow I'm so happy we didn't get any this year. When it does snow here it's not a lot and by the second day it's brown sludge lol. I dunno how I would of coped if people stared at me with Meiya I hate people staring at me I get really embarrassed. I was even too scared to get her out of her bag, I nearly chickened out if it wasn't for my sister who opened the bag and demanded me not to care lol. It ended up being quite fun and I filmed a youtube video for my channel while I was there with people kinda looking as they walked past lol. Thank you for help regarding my boy's shoes and I am happy to know that PinkFantasy sell shoes that will fit as they are my favorite ebay shop to buy from :D and I will def check out the other shops you suggested :) Piri is working that rainbow hair lol.

      Got some pics of my boy by himself... They aren't terrible, and I like them better than the last set. On the way home from the photoshoot (in a wildly roundabout manner) we went to Jo-Ann's to try and find some elastic and s-hooks. The lady working at the counter actually knew what BJDs were and asked us to bring them inside. So my girlfriend's Ju got a lot of praise and love. ^^ (Sui did not come into the store, as I did not want a wardrobe malfunction in a public pace).

      I think I liked this picture the best...

      So Meiya decided to try on my incoming boy's fur wig to see how it looked and fit and she looks awesome in it! Now she has me looking for a slightly longer fur wig for herself! :D

    60. ah...some day I will get a Sui on tang body...along with a body for one of my floating heads...other company dolls have tempted me this past year putting my RS dolls on the back burner. :(

      Craftygreek: yea I always told myself no mutiple sculpts but I have 3 sets: 2 Rongs, 2 Mei's and 2 Wu's..lol. But my Wu's are completely different since one is a boy and one a girl. And one Rong and One Mei girl are my kitty characters so their fantasy ears are completely hidden. Oh oops I totally forgot about Cricket and Hypoxia who are both Ju's one is heavily modded facially...and wait duh my Jun twins (boy/girl) Crap...I really need to rethink this doll situation I have going on..lol.
