Has anyone here ever mixed parts from different colours of dolls? I had a thought about a patchwork frankensteinian monster girl and I think RS would be obviously the coolest way to do that, since you could get such a variety of colours what with the green and blue and so on...
It'd probably just be smarter to dye the parts, but it just occurred to me...

 

@path-I think I have seen the patch work look before... You can order the parts in different resin when you order the doll if you order directly through resinsoul. Kitty blue had one that was multiple colors I think. I can't wait to see what you do with your idea.

 

Reslie I'm not sure if I'll get around to this one (I have two dolls on the way now and plans for two more after, oh no) but I hope I can find some other people who have patchwork dolls, so I can bat the idea around for awhile.

 

Path, there's a vendor at the con I attend every May that has a little patchwork Bao, he's adorable! (And a great way to see resin colors in person, though I'm still torn between blue and green; I blame Sapphire for that ) It'd definitely be easier to just order one up that way, rather than have to dye the pieces. (If I didn't have a body already for my (OT here) Siamese cat girl, I'd get one with the pieces different colors and blush the transitions; it's still always a possibility, since her blushing chips so badly.)

 

Gatomon, Luci is really pretty! I really like her wig.

Reslie, Sienna and Aiden sound like cute friends, haha.

Purplevix, that sounds like a great project idea! I've ordered direct via email and it's a really easy process. Though, seems to be a trend lately, after I ordered my doll shipped without any tracking or updates; he just arrived one day out of the blue. I don't know if that's something to do with ordering through the email or not, but a heads up.

Jem, Cord is freaking cute. Love that wig with his blue eyes.

Kerantli, yay! Another Wu! That's def one of my fav sculpts. Looking forward to more pics! As Sapphire said, I do make clothing that fits RS boys and the dj girl body well, but if you're looking for more options, check out Releaserain on Ebay or Etsy for awesome shoes and also Dorsetclothing on Etsy. Though, with the exception of the single jointed girl body, RS dolls will mostly fit into standard MSD clothing and if not, just a little bit of taking in will help them fit perfectly. I have boy dolls from Illusion Spirit, Dollzone, Angel of dream, Resinsoul and Dollkot and, though they do vary a bit in size, they can all swap clothes with no issues. Just steer clear of clothing for the newer DZ bodies and JID, they totally won't fit.

Gaiboiozz, honestly can't get enough of Wataru. Those panties are super cute and totally his style. I feel like he would get along with Nabi very well, lol.

Sapphire, ahhhh...your boys are all so cute! I can definitely see Kiro and Pax running amuck in the house. Pax's new faceup is just perfect for him!

Path, I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the dealer, but I was at Atlanta BJD Convention last year and a booth had a "frankendoll" made up of all of the RS colors so customers could see exactly what colors they offer. She was so beautiful with all the different colors together. If you can fit it into your doll plans, you should do it!


Hey guys, can I get some An and Ju spam? I think I'm going to order these two as my birthday present (either that or a Doll Love order, not sure yet). Bonus points for a nice shot of Ju's ears. I love her ears, but I'll have to mod them off in order to fit her to the character so I'd like to see what I'm getting into.

 

Maxtastic, was it "Wolfhome Outfitters" or something like that? I think that's their name, they're the ones I see every year at Anime Central in Chicago, with their little patchwork boy!

He really is! He makes me want to patchwork something myself! (Maybe not to that degree, but multiple colors would definitely be fun!) I'll probably go check out their latest batch of dolls/look over Patches again next month, I can see if they'll let me take a picture to post here when I do.

Hey all,

I bought a new to me Song yesterday. He is missing the cap on the back of his head. Does anyone have experience replacing this part? I asked at the Resinsoul site but I'm still waiting to hear back. I'm afraid this one part is going to cost me a lot more since I'm thinking about ordering another doll and maybe in blue or green now. The colors sure grow on you when you get into it huh?

 

Asking on the site won't help, it is better to send an e-mail. But you would have to pay for the headcap (between 15 and 20 dollar I am quessing) and the shipping (between 30 and and 50 dollars depending on where you live). It is probably better to mail one of the dealers and see if they will arrange it for you. The headcap may turn out to be a little more expensive, but the shipping will just be the one in your country.

 

Sorry for the ridiculously late reply, he's in purple, though in most of my pictures he does look like he's grey.

Thanks Cyador! That is really a great suggestion to go through the dealer. Shipping is such a budget killer, even domestic. I'd be in serious financial trouble, though, if there was a local Brick & Mortar store, though. I know what I'll be doing during breaks tomorrow at work.

 

You are welcome, you might have to inform with several though - I know for example that not all dealers want to deal with 'special' orders (like getting different hands on a doll) but other dealers have no problem with asking. I know Resinsoul won't make a problem of it, Sun(?) will sell you want you ask for.

 

Sun's a great person to deal with, he'll get your order done in a quick amount of time and is super prompt. My experience with RS was my first company order at that and it went picture perfect. Plus you can do a mini-layaway if you want through them. I was able to put ten away a week until my Bei was paid off.

 

It's been so long since I was here! Everyone's dolls look amazing! My Yao got a new pair of eyes and a new wig since I was last here. I don't have any good pictures on my camera just yet, but when I do I'll post one!

Can I just say, because I'm so happy right now, that Resinsoul is by far one of my favourite companies now? I emailed Sun Saturday, asking if I could order via mail, and I got a reply today, and could confirm and pay the order within 30 minutes. PLUS I got to order an extra body part, to a mod project I'm planning, no questions asked, just happy to be of service. It's times like these you really want to show how grateful you are towards their work and customer service xD Can't we all pull together and send Sun to a spa or on a vacation or something, for the marvelous work he's doing? xD (No, I'm not serious about the spa idea but really, you really wish there was a way to make Resinsoul understand how much their service means to their customers).

 

Indigo, know that feeling well. I emailed Sun about a month or so ago asking about a very special request for my next order. I don't want to mention it here yet, but it's not a request that ANY company I know would have agreed to do without a ton of $$ involved. Not only did Sun agree to my requests, but gave me a price that is insanely affordable. I have to wait a little longer to put the order in and I'm afraid if I talk about it, I may jinx it for myself. Sorry for being so ambiguous. >___<

Buuuuuut, I've emailed companies with basic, simple requests that you would assume any business would be happy to comply to and get "no" "we don't do that" "you have to buy a whole doll to get those" or just no response at all. And dealers aren't the most help either. Resinsoul is really all about their customers and pays attention to what people want. It just makes me so happy inside that in a hobby filled with companies that over charge and have general bad service, Resinsoul can offer an affordable doll AND exquisite customer service.

Okay, I rambled a bit, but omg I just love a company that cares about what I want!

I checked my tracking number today and it says that my package arrived at the post office at 4am. That was super fast. I ordered ariel on Saturday. I have been trying to decide which wig to get her....

Question: What color wigs look best with Tan skin? I am looking at fantasy colors as well as regular human colors.

Speaking about getting random things from resinsoul, does anyone know if they sell the leather case separate? I bought through bobobie and junky spot so I only have the sleeping bag and I think the case would be nice to take on vacation. I didn't see one in the marketplace either...?

 

I really like red with the light tan resin. The tan had a very cool tone so the red warms it up nicely.

 

Yes they do - well at least you can order it directly. I have asked 2 or 3 years ago and it was surprisingly expensive seeing as they are given for free with the dolls. (35 dollars for an SD bag?) The price may have changed or I might remember wrongly - so if you get quoted a different price, please share?

 

Reslie, haha, I'm dying to talk about my custom doll idea, but I'm just too superstitious for my own good. >___< Hopefully I can put the order in very soon (fingers crossed for doll sales) and then I can finally discuss the awesomeness of RS in detail.

I think just about any wigs can look good with the right faceup. Hill's wearing a rainbow wig right now that looks great, but after comparing a few other colors, I don't think you can go wrong. My personal favs are the rainbow one, dirty blonde, dark red and turquoise.

 

I agree about Resinsoul. I love Fairyland but any simple request is always given a "no" with a reason that it can't be done for "managerial reasons". I've only had limited experience with RS but from that and what I've seen others say about being able to order what they want I'm definitely starting to love them as a company. I hope I can order my two boys from them soon.

 

Thanks Sapphire! Your Kiro and Piri are in part to blame for my newest green/blue plans. I don't think I'll have a hard time ordering a tiny or mini straight from RS. I have plans for some forest/water elves that I can't wait to start fleshing out.

 

Soooooooooooooooooo, here's my latest project for Tagg :3 Now, the colours are far from right (and a quite horrible mismatch). As this is my first attempt at doing a dreadlock wig I bought a package of small bundles of coloured wool, for no money at all, but you couldn't decide which colours to get in the bundle xD You'll see what colours the final wig will be, once I've bought the right wool, now that I know how to do it :3 Sorry for big pic!

As for Resinsoul, they have definitely earned my return business. I have never seen a company, brick and mortar or online, that strives to serve their customers so well. The second best business for customer service is Denver Doll in my opinion.
In fact, i'm already planing my next purchase from Resinsoul... a grey Ming boy to turn into my half orc half human character. I've been on a Hobbit/ LOTR kick lately.

I started a project journal for my reptilian boy today but i've had a rather crappy day so I had no drive to get anything done on him yet. :'( That being said could I have some cheer-up spam? I'd love to see a grey ming or any other dolls you can throw at me.

Resinsoul has some pretty awesome customer service. I was able to order my Ming with white horns and hooves, no problem. My aforementioned local doll friend has had good experiences, too. I am interested to know if Bobobie is as good... the only time I ordered direct from them, they lost my invoice and I ended up waiting over three months for eyes and shoes. I figure that was a fluke, yes?

I really like red wigs with the light tan as well. As you can see from the picture in my avatar, which is my light tan Lan with a mixed red/auburn wig that I like very much. She's also worn a cerise (purple-ish red) 5SD wig that looked really nice on her.
I also like those rainbow-coloured wigs that Happy Camille has (I am sure others, too, but I've seen theirs) on dark tan dolls. The dark tan really offsets the rainbow phoenix-like wig colours.

(I'm not sure why this was deleted, but to be on the safe side: I am not discussing a marketplace sale outside the marketplace. I am not selling anything. I'm certainly not selling the doll in my avatar, or the wig. I am not a representative of Happy Camille.)

Edited to add: Reslie, your tan Ariel looks fantastic. I'm still waiting for mine, keeping my fingers crossed that she doesn't take too long now. (It's been almost three weeks...)

I had to change his eyes as his S-hook kept shifting the other eyes he had in (they were quite bulky at the back, so I had problems keeping them straight and away from the S-hook). Though, these ones seem to work for him, if a slight bit too big.

 

Reslie- She's beautiful! Her eyes and resin color are gorgeous!

Bullets- Aaaah I love all your resin kids! He is definitely a pretty princess! (And the background is perfect)

The wu sculpt has grown on me!!! I find myself drawn to him more and more. When I look at Song sculpts and than Sprite I feel like they look VERY close to the same... Am I wrong? What is different between them?

 

Song has more of a serious/neutral face, and Sprite has more of an innocent look. Avalon used to look very serious and sometimes grouchy all the time before he got his new face up but now he's just...Calm looking all the time.

My new girl arrived today!
I'd never seen a resinsoul doll in the flesh before and I was kind of expecting her to look a little cheap and nasty.
Moa's gorgeous though! (Mei on Rong).

The fine detail is fantastic and I love that pale colour of the NS.
Apart from some trouble getting her hair to stay on with her pointy ears in the way she's been very cooperative so far.
She even stood right out of the box.
She took so long to arrive that her accessories were all ready and waiting except for her shoes which I'll get around to ordering.. soonish.
I was also impressed by how well put together the outfit I bought with her was.
Time for me to start sewing her band uniform!
