Thank you so much for the comparison pics and size reference stuff. Really appreciate it! I'm glad they're a little slim, I think that makes it easier to sew for them. Fabrics get so bulky in smaller scales, so it's nice to have a bit of space to work with. Your pictures have made the wait for my Boston Terrier doubly hard! But thank you for confirming for me that I definitely want one.
I expected to dislike them muchly... but I love the beagle! I would love to see her (it just looks really feminine to me for some reason) in a Victorian style dress... or something.
I like the 0036 and 0038. They are way long realistic but they can be good for the innocent and cute bjd boys and girls. I imagine one along side my Alexander (yo-sd sweet dream piccolo) that will be real cute and innocent
I just ordered #38 in white with no face up so I can make it look like my Riley. They say it will take 6 - 8 weeks to get a blank one. It's going to be a long hard wait!!
babytarragon, I haven't seen a lot, yet, but here are a couple threads I've found: Blank Boston Terrier: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=284387&highlight=resinsoul+dog Full body & head faceup'd Boston Terrier: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=283423&highlight=resinsoul+dog
They're so cute! I'd like to see Bobobie try a more human-like one though, like some of the other people here. Still, they are on my wishlist. A bit of the way down there, perhaps, but there all the same.
Oooooh my Beagle one came today - full body makeup and I adore him/her - havent decided yet! Great resin and posing ability! I will put up pics later. BTW Boboie customer support was awesome, I wrote asking about the status of my order as it had been a couple of months, and got a note back that mine was shipping and arriving in 3 days - and Wow, here is my little doggie! I had no idea they were in partnership with Resin Soul, which now explains the RS on the back of the head! But I cant say enough about how amazing Boboie customer support is. Great little doglet! So happy this little one finally came!
I am just gonna have to share, I just had a confirm go for the shipping of my bobobie pup today !! He is coming Denver dolls... I have hummed about an anthro for such along time but he is sooo cute with his blue eyes and all. I bought the brown and white one with the boston terrier face and he is with full body make up etc! does anyone have one of these and does he/she wear clothes? I can't imagine it so if anyone can show me what it looks like I will be really thrilled to see them. I have started to really like the anthos and am seeing more of them around, He is nameless as yet but has some friends, one particular waithing for him to come home! OMG I am so excited. I think it will be cakes all round in a weeks time!
Did some sharing in the wrong place as usual.. I have ordered #39 the tan boston terrier and he is going to be Amos when he comes from DDE. I am beyond excited and as they have him in stock he could be here in a week! are any photos with clothes I don't think I want to clothe him but I wondered what they would lokk like?
I got my beagle pup thinking it would be a girl, but somehow it seems like a boy to me now. I have the pup in a black shirt and blue denim shorts - looks adorable! I also crocheted a greenish blue dog bed tonight. The other night I made a red crochet dog bowl and off white bone - all this for my little doglet with no name yet! Will try to post pics tommorrow. I thought these pups would be smaller somehow, but anyway have been having fun making things for the pupster!
And my Charles Stephan Elfdoll Alice Cherry Blossom, Victoria and Baby Julia all wear various clothes
Oh I love the dog bed! I can make clothes but not crochet, well only long chains!! he looks so cute with his little friend and his bowl and the bone just totally squeeeeeee-able, you really are clever with your hands ! And they do look good in clothes don't they I will decide when he coes comes home.
Thank you Demented Pea! I had someone show me how to get beyond chains, and how to do the three basic stitches. single crochet, double and triple crochet, and half double crochet. Once someone shows you the first couple of ways to connect things, then the rest just falls into place. I completely made up the dog bed so I am glad that came out so well. The bowl and bone were adapted from an amigurumi pattern I got on Etsy for a doy play set. Its very easy to follow - trust me, I am really new at crochet, and trying to follow patterns! I am soooo delighted you found it all "squeeeeeable"!!!!! As to the clothes, these were clothes for the 8in Goodreau bjds, and I am truly finding it fun to see him all gussied up in clothes, it somehow seems to add to a sense of personality for my little puplet. Thanks so much for your enthusiastic comments! Cant wait to see your pics when your pup arrives!
This is really interesting. Anyone remember the bulldog and chihuahua anthros from (I think) Dreamingdoll a few years ago, about the same time Pipos Baha was released? They were very similar to these, also on topic, but no one ever posted owner pics here, and I don't know if any were ever even sold. I felt quite sorry for the dolls and the sculptor, getting zero love (although I didn't buy one myself). I'm glad to see these puppies are finding fans!
My puppy parcel cleared UK customs today I have no idea what happens now but I assume that he / she is coming my way soon. DDE said it would be a week from door to door and that would be just right... I am so excited, this my first foriegn bought doll. Some (many) people have reported waiting ages for foriegn imports from China and Korea months sometimes. So it would be sensible ot get these dolls from America even if that means an extra week delivery, while they get them from asia. It is still quicker than getting them from asia direct!!! looking forward to openong the doggy bag!
I find getting things from USA is much slower because they will always get customs charges on them. Korean parcels are more likely to get through uncharged, so I don't have to wait for them to set the charges, then go through the hassle of paying them. My stuff from Korea usually clears in 1-2 days. I've had one doll arrive overnight!
I actually wrote Boboie to check on my status, and incredibly they wrote me back, apologizing for some mistake which I couldnt quite fathom what they were saying, but the incredible part is that my Beagle came in exactly 3 days straight from them after they wrote me - so if you are waiting, just write Boboie and ask for your status. I was like shocked and wrote them thanking them and even got such a sweet and happy response.
Ooo, I love the little beagle-looking puppies! I've been thinking about getting one for a while, but haven't got around to it.
Its ok s/hes here and charges are paid and will be with me today!!!! Charges and times seem very variable? some get through wihtout ransom and some don't! I didn't have to pay a lot although it does mean that I will be longer paying my husband back!! He banklrolled my purchase. i am desperate for that doorbell ring!
These are awesome!! I want to see more owner pics. I wish they were even tinier though. I have tinies.
It doesn't look like this thread is active much, but I'll ask anyway: How are the ears attached on the Beagle sculpt? Are they like little pegs the same as the tail? And if they are, do you think I could mod the pieces to be held on with magnets instead? My moms most favorite type of dog, is an Australian Cattle Dog. I thought about getting one of these and making new ears for the beagle to make a cattle dog for my mom. I've showed her the pictures of these guys before and she thought they were cute. Do you think it would work?
I'd also like to know how the beagles ears are attached ^^ I'd like to be able to remove them and mod it to have upright ears. So I second the above question ^_^
I'm getting the BT one next year sometime 3 I just love BT's!! maybe will get another too but not sure yet they plan on being pet dogs for my other bjds o.o I'd like more piccies of them ?
I'm trying to get a handle on the size of these guys. They are bigger than the 15 cm, but smaller than the 27cm dolls, but I'm wondering about proportion. How do these guys look with your other dolls (specifically MSD size), do they look super small? I realize that this may be a silly question since it is so relative. I haven't seen one of these up close, but I like the look of the beagle.
Greetings will send more comparison pics later but for now - my pup is about the size of the 8" Goodreau dolls and is wearing their clothes. Will send more info later - hope this helps for now!
Here are some comparison pics with a SD to the left of pup, MSD to the right, PukiFee below in pink, and a Yosd doll to the bottom right. Tiggy in the chair there just below pup is a really tiny Charles Creature Cabinet Fidelia Firefly, so hopefully this helps!
DollZwize: Thank you for the pictures! The comparison to other sizes is so helpful. Please spam more when you get the time! Your little doggie is adorable.
That was really helpful, thanks! I think I have a much better idea of their size now! They are pretty cute, too!
Omg he has a little crochet doggy bed and accessories!! So CUTE XD!! We have the same little doggy man
Oooooh Thats so Wonderful - I Love your Avatar pic!!! Do you have hound mostly w tail on or w/out? I must like to move mine around too much because mostly I like my pup without his tail in. Have it safely stored though just in case he needs it!
I have recently created a reason to get a pair of Boston Terriers and I have a couple of questions. Are 0037 and 0039 the same sculpt but different blushing? I can see no obvious difference between the two. Also, how long are these taking to arrive? From a couple of posts it sounds as though you wait some indiscriminately long period and that they eventually ship when you nudge the company. I will be ordering from the Bobobie site (which I have never used before) and there is no info on there that I can see that gives estimates of shipping dates. Thanks!
I've heard that ordering from resinsoul can be faster than Bobobie, but I could be wrong there. I'm pretty sure that Bobobie wait times are pretty long right now, though.
I ordered my boston terrier from Denver doll emporium, and he came in a week even to the UK. I guess if they have them in stock it would be the same. You have to pay customs tho' but I think you would from the asian sites too.
Thanks demented pea. However, I don't order from Denver Doll as the packages always get stopped by customs and, at full marked up cost on the customs slip, that is a lot of money. I have paid more in customs fees than I have in goods, on occassion! The Korean ones seldom get stopped, though. And DD only sell blushed dogs and I want blank. But thanks for the headsup! I will order direct from ResinSoul or Bobobie, I think.
DollZwise, this is all your fault, lol... I'm totally in love with these guys and trying to decide who to get now. All because you posted that adorable Beagle to the Firefly thread, HA!
I have pictures of my cute little dog too together with Nick (90 cm AoD Ni): I just love this little pet. It's soooo cute Edit: I didn't put the tail onto his back because it interferes when the dog is sitting on it's back.
LOL Winternight!!!! Their posability and feel is truly wonderful - Cant wait to see who you choose! OMG SuBro - Your little Boston Terrier is Wonderful!!!! Great Pics!!!!!!
SuBro, love your photos.... I've been leaning towards the Boston Terrier but they are all incredibly fun. DollZwise, yeah, you're the one, it's your fault, lol!!! So the posability is good, huh? I can feel my Twitchy Ordering Finger beginning to shake my arm. Tell me about the face-up, are the painted parts holding up well?
Oh Man Winternight - I thought for Sure you got the blank one in the MP - did you????! I was so hoping you did because I think these pups take ForEver to show up otherwise!. There is or was a Boston Terrier with a faceup in MP tonight - cutie too. Light brown. I think the painted parts are so solidly on that I never think of it as a faceup, it just seems like I can play with my pup as much as I want and there isnt anything to mess up by moving him about. My only bummer about him is that the promo pics definitely looked like a girl to me, but when He arrived he is pretty definitely a He somehow. So I wanted a she, but ended up with a He, but Oh yes he is solid and his paint seems bonded to him, not something that just rubs off or something. I can take lots more pics if you like. Post here if you want me to! I still cant get over how Utterly SqueeDorable that Boston Terrier above just is - Oh Cutie!!!!!
My Boston terrier could have the paint removed with nail varnish remover pads. I re-did some of his face up and extended the body paint. the original paint job does not go on the joints so nothing to scratch off! This is him with new painting just before his clothing was made...I too thought it was a girl but he is a very camp boy! he has one leg an incy bit longer than the other and always stands hip dropped!
My Boston Terrier just arrived from JunkySpot! I wish I had more time right now, but I did snap at least one good picture: Hope to get more up in the future.
Thanks DollZwize! I took a small break from sewing to suede and re-string him! I also added s hooks to his paws (made out of the eye part of tiny hook and eye fasteners -- learned the trick somewhere on the forums). I absolutely love how the leather looks in his joints, and it makes him a little heavier, which I like. Definitely improved his posing to tighten and suede him. I'd only had FairyLand dolls before, and of course they're posing magic, so I've had a learning experience trying to pose this pup. I also put a lot of pink blushing around his nose and mouth, but it didn't show up much in the photos. I like how it adds a little depth to his faceup; the original pure black & white faceup was a smidge too stark for me. I'm planning to add a little more to the faceup if I get the time. Here's a shot of all the lovely suede in his joints: And now he can stand on one foot: Just one more, he seems to really like his new joints! I love this little guy. Tons of personality! I'm trying hard to come up with a name for him. I think it needs to be French, and start with a "B." Any suggestions? My top three right now are Berenger, Basil, and Bastien, but none of them exactly hit the spot just yet...
