I think the bodies are adorable, but the heads are little too realistic for me.

Boston terrier is pretty adorable though.

 

I kinda want one. TBH, I think these guys are even cuter than Pipos's dog. I can't decide which is my favourite of them all.

 

I agree with babytarragon they are just a bit too doglike for me. They are still cute though

Oh wow!!! I think I've died and gone to doggy heaven!!! These are absolutely fantastic! The sculpts are truly wonderful and I actually really appreciate the realism. I can just see them dressed in wonderful Alice in Wonderland, Steampunk or Victorian styled clothing. Sadly, I must pay off a couple of layaways at present, but after that, I definitely intend to get a boston and a beagle-type.

 

Actually, I'm quite surprised these are on-topic! They just look to me like they took the head off a bobble-head dog figurine and stuck it on an anthropomorphic body. WAY too realistic-looking for my tastes. (No offense to anyone who likes them!)

I agree, a touch to realistic for me. They're okay, but not for me..... now if they came out with a corgi, I might have to rethink that. Corgis are love.
Still, can't wait to see what RS comes up with next, they keep on making some really impressive dolls, even if they're not all to my liking.

 

i don't look at them like an "anthro", i look at them as real BJD puppy, that is what i bought it for, a pet for my dolls. i suppose you could still dress it up, but it would look like a dog in clothes. i think they're cute, and for the money? worth a try.

Too bad we were just having problems with Resinsoul. I wuod totally order a colored doggy but we were having too many probs ordering a tiny from them!

 

may i ask, what kind of problems? problems trying to order? or problems with the actual doll itself? now i'm nervous.

 

Finally! I've been waiting for someone to do a decent Boston Terrier. The tail will need to be modded--Boston's have little piggy tails or tails like Rat Terriers. Rarely will you see a long tail on a BT.

My male BT--Bobbie passed away this past summer, and I've wanted a Boston BJD to paint with his markings.

After I get my taxes done--I will be ordering one. Depending on how this one looks I might even get another one and do some sort of fund raiser with it for BT rescue--have to wait and see on that.

 

It was part of a group order...everything arrived except for like my tiny doll. It dragged on for long enough that I wanted a refund over the doll and wracked my nerves. Dunno all the details, it was enough to turn me off, but I think others were fine with them so odds are it'll be fine for you.

 

Hmm, to me they look sort of in-between--not as stylised as Pipos anthros or Zuzu Delf, but hardly as realistic as a dog figurine. There's still a great deal of stylisation in there, it's just more on the 'realistic' end of the scale. More like a 'classic/normal' cartoonised anthro instead of a 'cute/chibified' cartoonised anthro...if that makes any kind of sense. ^^;

...and I need 0038. XD I had wanted to get a Zuzu Delf Mati to be the dolly-embodiment of my favourite childhood plusie...but the 0038 head looks a lot more like him. *o* I will so totally dress him all steampunky, too. XD My Bernard was an adventurer, after all.

 

The numbers is so confusing I'm just gonna call them BT and BG (boston terrier and beagle)

I'd like to see them with simpler painting, I wonder if it's the over detailed and heavy painting that puts me off. I'm tempted to get a pink BT and do a really simple face up.

I'm not a dog fan, so I don't really like these. I don't think they're as cute as pipos mac, but I do think the little boston terrier is pretty okay. I guess I think they're too realistic looking. And a little creepy!

 

I think they are really well done, and I happen to love Boston terriers and beagles. I might get one way down the road since the price is not at all bad. They just didn't sink that hook in my jaw and reel me in like my Pipos Robin did. I never got into anthros until Robin, haha. These are a really nice sculpt though. Congratulations to you guys who bought them. I would like to see them in the non-realistic colors now. I love BBB and RS crazy colors.

ETA- I think I would like them more if the eyes were bigger, giving them a more baby look. That might be what others see as "too realistic" about them too.

 

I think you're right. The ZuZu Delf Frisse I fell in love with all had simpler painting and I ended up getting two limiteds. I didn't like the standard ones, and looking at it I can tell you why; the nose is to dark, it looks to realistic to me, but painted lighter I fell in love. So I'll be getting a RS Beagle in a few weeks, white skinned and then I'm going to paint it myself, with no dark nose. We'll see how he turns out.

 

I wonder if they could paint one to look like my Jack Russell. One of the Beagle styles (longer nose), but with black, white, and brown markings. That would be so cute. Yeah I might have to get one to go with my FOX.. Well I've got the horses, the fox and now I can get the hounds. Talley Ho.... Off to try to order one.

I've never ever liked anthros, they've always scared me. But I actually really like these! These are the only decent looking doggie anthros I've ever seen. I'm really tempted to get the beagle and paint him like K. K. Slider from Animal Crossing. Ohhhhh the cuteness!

 

Ooh, would love to see that! I think that will make a huge difference to the overall look. I wonder if RS would supply photos of them unpainted. Your Frise are adorable by the way!

I didn't realise they were roughly Pipos Pi or Zuzu size. I kept thinking they were teeny tiny like Bbb Eric. I guess the cheap price made me think they were smaller. Very tempted now, I will just see if RS provide unpainted photos and that might seal the deal ^^

A BJD rendering of Dogs Playing Poker is a great feat indeed!!
It would be nice to have a 'Basic-Basic' version, with just the shadowing of the jowls and eyes applied, but I LOVE the colour options!! I think I'm ready to have a pink Beagle in my life!!

 

Me too, I'm a bit stunned that they're on-topic actually since their facial sculpts don't seem to fit the Asian aesthetic at all.

I'm also not keen on ResinSoul dolls anyway tbh.

I just discovered these the other day and absolutely went squishy gooey head-over for them! I'm super picky on my animal BJDs and so far none of the dog ones have really done much for me, but when I looked at 038 and saw those soft eyes and those TOO adorable paws I was gone!

Did anyone notice that the ears on the beagle dog move? I love that! I can just see one riding in a 1/6 car with my 1/6 dolls and having his head hanging out the window in the breeze!

Just got my tax return this weekend and I've already ordered 038 in white with no blushing. I haven't a clue what I'll do, but its going to be fun! Can't wait to see owner pics!

 

I love the Boston....I have two Pit Bulls and I may be able to mod one to be a Pit! Price is certainly right. I couldn't find them on the Bobobie site. . . only found the Ox.

Just placed my order for a Boston Terrier in white. I'm going to paint it to look like my Bob Dog, he passed away last summer. I only wish that they offered this in black resin. Most Boston's have black "suit" like markings, and I'm afraid black paint will rub. Hope I can keep from crying while I paint this little guy. Bob was my baby boy:

 

They are on the Bobobie site now. I just happened to be looking there and saw them and then came to DOA seeking them out. I wish they had a black one! My Boston mix is mostly black.

 

What are the shipping rates of Bobobie or Resinsoul and how are the companies affiliated? Do they both use EMS?

FilaWee; Bobbie was only 8---he had a heart tumor that was on the outside and inside of the heart. There was nothing the cardiac vet specialist could do.

I think shipping to the US was about $20. I wonder if they would make black on request?

 

The heads are a bit too realistic for me, looks slightly freakish on those bodies. But they are cute, I like #38 the best. I'd be interested to see owner pics

I have my dogs. I really like them. They pose wonderfully. The tails, like the Ox, are not easy to keep in but I don't keep the tails on any of my animals.

I ordered both in white.

The waist joint does move.

The only comparison I did was between the RS Ox, the DF Senior Mouse and my Zuzu Delf.

The dogs and Ox are much slimmer than my Zuzu or Pipos dolls. They are about the same height. The measurements are close to those of Edward from the Alice Cherry Blossom group. Even Edward's are a little larger but I have ordered some clothes and I'm hoping they will fit.
