Resinsoul and Bobobie Mini Discussion Thread - Part 33

@manabusama I’ve had an RS Rong with a female centaur body on my wishlist already. I saw Daytime and knew he’d be a perfect companion for her. Now with his limited availability, I’ll be getting him before I get the Rong. I do generally like having the option to wait too, but he’s now the 3rd limited doll I’ve ordered recently. I just happened to get active in the hobby again around event time and I didn’t even realize it at first… and all the limited dolls I’ve wanted have been within budget for me, it feels lucky. After this I’ll go back to focusing on the dolls already in my possession. A bunch still need face-ups and things after all.

 

That sounds awesome, can’t wait to see! It’s one of the things I love most about Resinsoul, you can really get creative with the doll design.

 

I think Ai (edit: not Ai, I meant Yao) and Ming are going on my wishlist too, their little horns and cloven hooves are too cute. I want to do something in different colors with them but I have no idea. Anyone have color ideas for satyrs that they wouldn’t mind me using?

edit 2: Maybe something in transparent resin, I haven’t done anything in that yet. Though I am curious if it yellows with age like opaque resin does, and if it does then what would it look like. Not that I have an issue with yellowing, I’d just like to know what I would be signing up for.

edit 3: Welp, I figured out the coloring for them both, and I love what I’ve come up with so naturally it must happen. They’re officially on my wishlist.

 

Well, it can't really be helped when there's a limited doll that you really fall for I'm still super fired up about my Daytime order. Did you order him yet?

I'm lucky that I'm no longer as crazy about limited dolls as I once where. Back when Luts released their very first centaur, I'd hit the buy button just I saw a limited fantasy sculpt

But with the years limited dolls started meaning less to me. The past couple of years I've seen some really amazing limited fantasy dolls from different companies. Dolls that "past me" would die to get! But for many years now I've not had the same kind of need for them. Been more into creating characters from non-limited doll sculpts. But both Resinsoul Flame and Daytime were an exception. With both I hit buy button as soon as they were released. But I also were lucky that my wallet would allow me to buy them though, super relieved about that

 

LImited dolls stress me out but I did manage to find someone to split a centaur with (lol that sounds kinda morbid)

I'm not sure yet whether Daytime will end up being a whole new character or if he'll be a reshell for one of my older dolls. I'll decide when he gets here and whether I think he embodies the character or not.

It's been a while since I got a resinsoul. I have well, rather a lot of them.
I have a twilight (she's dark gray on a human body), two Songs (one female in sky blue, one male and heavily modded in dark gray), Ming in dark tan, wu in "normal", Jun in a custom aqua colour with transparent limbs, An in green on tang body with extra arms, Yao in lilac on a boy body, Rong in red on the Yao body, Li in dark tan and a Bobobie Ariel in coffee.

I'm a sucker for the fantasy colours, I lust after them. lol.

Considering one of the boy bodies for my gray artist head here. Looks like the colour match will be about 90%. Resinsoul's gray is a bit more yellowy, a warmer gray than sooms.
Not sure which body though. I like the single jointed body's aesthetics but the single joints bug the hell out of me and the cup joints annoy me even more. Tang/Sui's joints are the only ones I actually don't hate with resinsoul's jointing systems. I wonder if they'll turn those centaur bodies into human versions. They look to be a lot skinnier than their other bodies but have elbows more like Tang/Sui right? I might just ask for the wu body with tang arms. I think all the arms are interchangeable anyway.

 

Yes I ordered him! He’ll be shipping out in about two months, they said. I have two other orders on layaway, both of them with limited dolls/doll heads. They’re all my first limited dolls but Daytime will be the very first to arrive, the layaways will take a while. He’ll also be my first centaur.

 

Yeah it looks like Tang/Sui have more muscular torsos than the centaurs, specifically in the neck. The centaurs look to be more toned than buff. The tang/sui shoulders might be broader too, but I don’t think that will interfere with an arm switch.

I have 4 centaurs at home, they're all from Luts. A Kid Delf, one Honey Delf and two Tiny Delf sized ones. I'm really curious how Daytime will compare to my MSD Luts centaur. Because I already have 4, Daytime will be my last centaur, unless Resinsoul also create another centaur that have the larger human body parts of Sui. I'm really hoping for that, a bit larger than Daytime and Night in size. I feel like I should save up for it just in case Resinsoul oneday do release a centaur like that. If they do I would very much like to have money ready to do an order!

Good you found someone to split with I had a feeling that would be difficult to find because both Daytime and Night are so special. But good you found somebody

I'd love that too if RS could make a human version out of the cantaur. The upper, human body are sculpted so beautifully that it would have looked amazing as a human

 

@manabusama I agree, he’s super special, and not just because of the beauty or originality of the sculpt. The other limited full doll I got was limited in that it’s only available for a certain amount of time, but they’ll make as many as are ordered; Daytime only being limited to 50 made definitely makes them extra special. About human versions of the centaur bodies, they may! I think the Shi/Xun body looks a lot like the human body version of Yan/Zhen.

 

I'd also love to see them do an msd version of their little hippgryff thing with the paws. Damn that'd be fun.

She’s a yosd so I probably didn’t mention it here earlier, but I also have an RS Miao on layaway with DDE. It’s a multi-doll order on a long layaway but they have her in stock so I wonder if I can get her sooner once she’s fully paid for, even if the rest of the order isn’t fully paid for.

Regardless of how long I have to wait for her, she’s so cute she’s inspired me to form a little kitty family and I put two RS msds on my wishlist with customizations similar to hers. Tang and Han heads, on male and female bodies respectively. There aren’t a lot of Han owner pics that I can find but from what I have seen, the sculpt would be perfect for a sassy little kitty anthro.

It may be a while yet before I’ll be purchasing them, though.

 

Edit: nevermind, the package got here and I realized it was way too slim...

I just got a message that a 55 x 10 x 11 cm package is on the way to me. Could it be my Mei?! It's only two weeks earlier than the shipping estimate.

Does anyone remember how big their Resinsoul MSD package was?

I’m honestly kind of impressed by how aggressively unhelpful a lot of their own product photos are. They’ve definitely gotten better over time, but almost every Resinsoul owner photo I’ve ever seen has been way more convincing than their official company photos

I like to think that they skimp on photography to focus on quality. Resinsoul is a solid company but their presentation... leaves much to be desired.

 

Agreed. I adore their dolls, so I’m glad that the online community exists to give a better sense of just how lovely their dolls are IRL.

 

My Sprite, Tera has been here for a spell, and finally ordered her a leekeworld wig and new eyes, will be sharing pictures once they arrive. ❤️

Also, what's the average wait time for them to answer a question? Want to see about ordering a different chest piece.

 

I've found that they're really responsive. I'd give them a day or two.

Overall, I am incredibly pleased with this doll. There are joints in each hoof.
I've paid two to four times as much for other dolls (Twilight is currently in stock at Denver Doll for $238 USD plus shipping), and I like this doll much better.

What color is everyone getting their Daytime in? I'm really tempted but I don't know what color I want hmmm..

 

I sprung for the full special brown. I am smitten by the clear resin hooves, and Resinsoul just kills fantasy resin colors! (As in - they are phenomenal! For Google translate folks...)

 

resinsoul's clear resin is gorgeous. One of mine has clear "black" hooves and they're actually a really dark brown so they look like cocacola or guiness or something. It's beautiful.
I keep trying to justify more transparent parts lol.

 

I got a combo of colors: their “normal” on the human parts, and light/dark tans on the horse parts and hooves/horns, respectively. I’m in the shipping limbo right now, so my anticipation is through the roof!

 

I got my Daytime with Light Tan human parts and purple fantasy parts with the lower legs in transparent resin.. Can't wait for him to be sent out!

 

my daytime is in the special brown that was offered for it, and it is a gorgeous colour.
I only have the rather shitty, artificial light photos of its arrival to show for it, but I am really delighted with this doll. All the details are nice, it stands like a rock (for now. I've partly taken it apart for body blush, we'll see how it stands once back together). The arm mobility and capacity to hold poses feels a good deal better than my other msd resinsoul (the muscle boy body, Tang I think?)
Best impulse purchase of my life, can't wait to finish customising it and take more pictures

 

@Tagath yours are first owner pics I’ve seen for Daytime, thanks for sharing! He’s gorgeous, And your report on his stability is great considering resinsoul dolls can arrive tightly strung and a little kicky.

I also love that resinsoul uses white resin on their protruding/prominent teeth, too, rather than just casting the whole sculpt in one color and painting on the teeth in the face-up.

 

Wow he looks great! I think I will get at least his human parts in the brown, maybe a different color for the lower body.

 

That brown is really nice, a lot less ashy than their usual dark brown.

I'm very excited for mine. I'm still not sure if he'll reshell an existing character or be his own thing.

 

So excited! I put a Resinsoul Yan on layaway and I can't wait until she is paid off and arrives. I got her in blue resin, which is also a color I don't have in my collection. I also don't have a fantasy doll this extensive. My others are only like, fantasy ears, which I love; but she comes with the dragon feet, wings, horns, and tail. So excited!

 

I decided I want my Daytime with dark tan human parts and lavender centaur parts. I played around with colors and I really liked the combo.
Just sent an email in with Pantone French lavender attached. Can't wait!

 

Man if Daytime is still available next month, I'm definitely going to order myself one. I'm happy they've been available this long but I can't yet get one so I hope he's still available when I have funds. I really want that dark tan.

 

I hadn't seen Daytime. He's amazing! I almost want to get a Daytime doll but just with a female chest and waist. I wonder if they could accommodate? Resinsoul tends to be very open to custom orders so maybe! What a cool doll either way

 

Did anyone order the other boy then? Poor night doesn't seem nearly as popular.

 

That seems perfectly doable since they have a female centaur anyway, maybe ask for him on Dawn's body. The proportions don't seem too far off.

 

I'd order them both if I could get them on a satyr body! But I was told that wasn't possible since they're limited. And I'm out of money for a bit (and should prioritize getting bodies for floating heads!)

 

Does anyone with a Rong or Yao from resinsoul/bobobie have a hip/waist measurement for me (or any other measurement for that matter)? I’m seeing very different measurements on the resinsoul website and the bobobie website and would love if someone who actually has this doll body has taken the time to measure it would be willing to share that info with me seems like the websites are inconsistent currently. I’m trying to figure out if she will look in scale with my Myou 1/4 pear body or be too short or too skinny

@amethystnight - I'm also curious. I had the Mei body, and now I have the Shi body (with a Ya head), and they are very slim.

 

Which Myou body is this? I have a Myou type 3 body here and a Rong body.... if that helps at all.

Rong/Yao body (same body, different legs) have 18cm hips and 15cm waist, approximately. Now I gotta get everyone back on the shelf. Rowan was right at the back. Typical.

 

They’re only making 50 of them, it’s not a time-limited release. So if you want one, I’d aim for sooner than later!

 

They have a female centaur body already available, maybe you can see about getting a daytime head on the female centaur body if that’s what you want? They may not do it with a daytime head since it’s a limited sculpt but there’s no reason they won’t be able to put any of their other msd heads on their female centaur body.

 

Yeah but he's already been listed for over a month now (I think) so I'm assuming he won't be available once I have funds. I'm surprised he's remained for this long tbh.

I love him and can't wait to customize him! Can't decide whether to do his faceup myself or get an artist I like to do it. He's so handsome, I am so happy to have got him!

Also, Resinsoul still has the best doll bags and I will stand by that fact. I use the heck out of them, and Daytime came with a dark navy version in his size!

 

@Magnus Vale Ok, you showing off your Daytime convinced me to contact Resinsoul about a layaway for him. I don't wanna miss this boy and have a very specific vision in mind. Made a quick mockup to send Resinsoul.
Also, what does he look like without the horns? Are the head magnets visible from the outside or hidden under the resin?

 

@Cap'n Resinsoul put the magnets inside the head, so they're completely hidden when the horns are off!

Here's my (very quick) mockup for Daytime. I've ordered a custom SD from Resinsoul before but never with this many colors so hoping they'll be able to create my vision.

I asked resinsoul back when they first released these boys about different bodies but they said no becuase they're limited. A pity, i'd have liked the heads on regular humanoid bodies personally. Centaur bodies are awesome but they take up a lot of space which I simply do not have.

I'm kinda hoping they do what they did with Twilight and release a non limited centaur boy soon. Mostly because I really want to see more msd heads from resinsoul. Every time they do a new one it's better than the last. They really have upped their sculpting skills a lot and it's great to see.

Also i'm hoping we get a new boy body with the better jointing system they've been using for their recent girls. I can see them using the centaur torso/arms and adding a lower body to give us another boy option. I'd love that. I love how many different bodies they offer and how you can mix and match them.

 

I just sent my down payment for Daytime to Resinsoul. They confirmed my custom colors are good to go. And they also mentioned that there was only 2 more slots open for Daytime orders, one of which I snagged. So if anyone has been dragging their feet about ordering him (like I was), now would be the time to jump.
