Updated my…15 year old(?) BBB Sprite’s faceup, and added a faceup to my partner’s RS Jian. I’m thinking that I am going to add some S hooks to my old Sprite’s wrists. The old sculpts really don’t have much flexibility, despite their cuteness!!

Maybe someone could help me with a (hopefully) quick question. I have a Sui head on the human version of his body, but I'm now wishing I'd gotten him on the dragon one. He's already in the resin color I want, so does anyone know if Resinsoul will sell you just parts of a doll? I'd need the wings, tail, clawed hands, and the dragon lower legs/feet.

 

I'm pretty sure they will, but it might end up being close to the price of a full doll. You could always email them and ask for a quote.

Oh wow, Twilight is such a pretty sculpt. Her sulky little face is glorious.

 

RS Sculpts always look so flippin cute in pastels! Really brings out the delicacy and gentleness of their expressions. I keep hauling my Wu out and forgetting to photograph him. He finally got new clothes and is looking super cute for the summer. Plus a game controller to fit his Invisible Sammich hands.

I ordered my first doll from Resinsoul today! She's a Mei head on a Rong body in dark grey. I chose the body because I liked her boobs better and didn't even realize she was double-jointed until afterwards. Lucky coincidence!

I was quoted about two months before she's shipped to me and I'm so excited!!!

Do Resinsoul bodies always need restringing when they arrive? I feel like I've seen having to restring them mentioned a lot and that seems very scary to me...

 

Restringing with very thick elastic works wonders for their posing abilities, but your doll should be able to stand, etc., with company stringing.
Restringing seems scary to a lot of people, but it's very easy to resting a RS and once you've done it you'll wonder why it seemed so daunting in the first place. If you do bite the bullet and restring, I used 3.5mm elastic in my girls' arms and 4mm in their legs. The 4mm in their legs is thick enough that they can stand with just the stringing alone, tension is barely required, so you can string loosely and still get great results

 

Thank you! That eases my worries a bit. I'll just see when she gets here (hopefully january) whether she needs restringing.

 

I have three Resinsoul dolls a Mei & a Rong & Xun I didn't have to restring yet and they are fine for now.

 

Hi there y'all! I was wondering if there was precedence for Resinsoul doing custom half closed eyes?
I saw the gorgeous sleepy Song that PumpkinKings had, but I'm thinking slightly more open eye'd.

 

I asked for a modded eye shape for my custom Xun and they were able to do it! Send them an email and they should be able to let you know if it'll be possible for that sculpt or not

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I sent them a sketch of what shape I wanted!

 

Got my Tang boy back from having his face up redone, loving the blue! He also stole another dolls wig upon arrival, but that's just how it is.

Have anybody seen the new dolls, Night and Daytime?

I got my eyes glued to the screen because of them right now, just waiting to see more images. Resinsoul have yet not posted any more images, but I asked them and they said:

I'm hoping for centaurdolls as it would be great to have some Resinsoul male centaurs as well. But I wouldn't mind a faun, satyr in this size either though.

 

I LOVE THEM HOLY COW!!!! I really want Daytime, but Night is gorgeous too. I want them as fauns too.

 

Going by the name they’re centaurs, named after times of the day like how the yosd cervitaurs were named after seasons, with these latest two we now have 4 msd centaurs, again like the yosd selection.

I’m already in love with them both, but Daytime’s orc tusks and horns are too cute to ignore. Wonder if we’ll get the option for a male centaur as well?

edit: looks like at least Night’s body is male? Male torso, at least!

 

The horns and tusks on Daytime have me sold! Although I never bought any of the previous centaurs I know their other centaurs are amazing, so I know the new ones will be too I had my money saved up for some heads I've been wanting for some time now, but I guess that money will have to go for Daytime now, or Night if I like him after seeing the full images.

I love centaurs but I do hope evenually though that Resinsoul will also release a doll with a faun body in the 40-50 cm body category.

 

oh no, daytime's face is so cool! I wasn't supposed to buy more dolls this year, but if those boys are limited, I'd hate to lose that chance...

 

I just ordered Daytime He's one doll that I just couldn't resist getting!

But I'm hoping eventually oneday RS will release also a slightly bigger centaur with the muscular upper body of Sui!

 

I hate to say it (trying to do a doll no-buy), but if these centaurs are anything like the last ones - order one as soon as you can. The last set of MSD centaurs sold out quickly.

I just asked if I could order Daytime on the Ming body. Oof fingers crossed!

EDIT: I just got my answer, and it's a no. Looks like I won't be bringing him home! I'm disappointed, but it's okay. I did get the confirmation that he's limited though.

 

Everyone's beautiful photos convinced me to purchase a Resinsoul combo I've been pining over: a Ya head on the new Shi body in light tan resin. Now I'll be hanging out in the waiting room.
Looking forward to another of Resinsoul's amazing carrying bags, too.

I want to see if I can do something custom? But I don’t know if that’s available on a limited, and I think Daytime is the limited, going by prices.

 

I have a Luts Bory centaur body with an event head on, from the first release of centaurs. So I'm really curious how the difference between my Luts centaur and Resinsoul centaur will be.

I got him in dark tan, but I would have loved it if the centaur, horse body were in even a darker brown than the upper part of his body. Maybe I should ask Resinsoul if I can have his lower body darker brown. I guess it does not hurt to ask

Luts let me have brown mane, tail and hooves for my bubble mint HDF Brownie. Originally he came in all bubble mint color on the lower body.

I'm really unsure whether any of them are limited or not. Maybe Daytime costs a bit more because he also got horns?

 

But after seeing this video I'm not so sure I should let go of all my Luts centaurs. Look how amazing those 2 centaurs look together Especially not the MSD one, I don't think I should let go of it just yet! But I will let go of my Luts MSD centaur the day Luts releases a MDF centaur again. I just want some difference in the sizes of my horses. Having one male that is a bit taller and have a muscular upper body. But I'd have to switch the MDF head for a KDF head though so the centaurs does not look off side by side.

 

That’s true! I don’t know how much Twilight was, so I can only compare against Dawn’s price. I’d rather still air on the side of caution, but at least I don’t feel so frantic anymore.

Your desired color scheme is close to mine! I’d like normal human parts, tan horse parts and horns, and dark tan hooves.

edit: okay, I’ve emailed Resinsoul to see if the color scheme is possible. The anticipation, I’m buzzing!

 

Usually it should say whether a doll is limited or not, that is something they should have specified when they released the doll. But you can email them and ask if they are limited or not. They use to answer pretty fast.

I'm just waiting for an answer regarding my order, I'll ask them when they repliy if it's possible to get the lower body parts in a darker brown. But if not, I can always get it blushed later to make it appear darker than the upper body.

 

I just refreshed the page, Daytime is limited. To 50 dolls, they’ve said.



Now I’m just hoping my email gets through before they’re all sold out.

edit: checked my email right after posting this and got a reply (of course, lol)! The customization is definitely doable, so I’m going for it.

 

Before logging into DOA I realized it probably were imited because of the resin color option. Dolls that are not limited always have the option to choose between all the usual resin colors. While Night And Daytime only had 2 color options.

That's cool I just asked Resinsoul if I could have darker brown resin on the horse, centaur parts so that there's some difference in color between the human and centaur body parts. I didn't ask for any special color for the horns, tail and hooves though. It would be nice to have a different color for the horns but I'm unable to visualize in my mind, figure out what kind of color that should be. So I didn't bother to ask about that part.

I guess I can always have the horn parts blushed later to make some more difference in color.

Now I'm just waiting for an answer!

 

I really want the heads but not the bodies. I haven't the space for centaur bodies. But I asked and they're only selling them as full centaurs. Boo.

Don't suppose anyone wants a centaur body but not either of the new heads? lol. Worth a shot asking right?

 

I'm in the same boat, lol. I really wish Daytime's head was a basic sculpt. It's so different from any of the fantasy stuff other well-known companies are doing that I hope they at least keep bringing it back for other limited releases.

 

Weren't Twilight limited before? She isn't anymore, so maybe Daytime and Night oneday also will be a non-limited sculpt!

 

Twilight isn’t available for sale currently, she’s just on the website. However she was made available twice. So yeah, at the very least we might have a second chance to get them again, but I don’t know if they’d offer the heads on different bodies next time if they aren’t accepting those requests this time.

edit: I’ve had eyes only for Daytime, I just realized that Night is further limited to only 30 dolls (compared to Daytime’s 50)! Is there anyone here who’s going for Night? He’s beautiful, reminds me of Twilight besides the ears.

Glad to see I'm not the only one losing my mind over Daylight. I won't be able to snag one unfortunately due to I wouldn't have the funds til January and I seriously doubt they'll be available for that long. Gotta hope there's a re-release in the future.

 

They did it for Twilight! I’m sure they’ll bring him back.

 

random aside unrelated to centaurs,
does resinsoul's regular (that is, the light) grey match Soom's grey?
I have a head here in soom grey that needs a body but not that many companies do grey resins as standard it seems

Now they seem to have the other colors available too for the new centaurs, so I'm looking forward to see what other colors people will order them in

Night is definitely beautiful, but I loved the more beast looking Daytime more. He's so different from any other centaur I've seen! But his dark tan and kind of fiery tail goes well with my red skin Flame. The two og them can be creatures of the fire element

I think it might be a webpage error on their part, I’m sure if he’s not offered in the color you want him in, an email will fix it.

 

Well, I gave in, and ordered a Daytime! Can't resist those amazing tusks. Going to be my first/second centaur doll (second only if you count a wolf-taur as a centaur). Decided to get him with light tan human parts and purple fantasy parts, going to do his customizing myself with my new-ish airbrush.

 

Currently I'm planning his character, but I've decided to go for a custom ordered color. I don't want him to be paper white, but some kind of old white, maybe a tiny bit peachy color mixed in. I haven't yet the decided but the order won't be quite yet. Just done some orders, so I should wait.

@manabusama I totally get it, I’m in the same boat. My problem is the characters come too easily sometimes, and their character is then integrated into the dolls I already have (or already plan to have) and then it’s like, well now I have to get them, or the group will be incomplete otherwise.

 

I also folded and ordered Night - with some fun resin colors. ~

His humanoid parts are all dark tan, his horse body is white- and the tail and hooves are green. He's gonna have some dryad themes I think?
No idea with names, or the rest of his look. Maybe green eyes? Or yellow.

I also got a Ni with half closed eyes- can't wait to see her!

 

I can relate some to what you say Usually it is the dolls I already have that triggers my mind to come up with a character because I feel they need a friend, boyfriend or girlfriend, or family member. Sometimes suddenly a character just appears in my mind out of nowhere. And when I get all these character ideas, it's hard to not buy a doll for that character. Just the thought of Daytime made me feel he should not be alone! He needs to have the whole shelf where he'll be standing, filled with fantasy Resinsoul characters. That's the first thing that popped into my mind right after ordering him

But I also am relieved that I can not always do an order, and it may take quite some time before I do so. In many cases, I end up feeling that character I earlier made is no longer all that important and I can manage without them. If I had ordered a doll for every character that pops into my mind, I'd be in big trouble
