Has anyone received the new girl body by now? I'd love to see how it poses!

 

Hello resinsoul friends! This seems the best place to ask: on a whim I recently ordered a Ju head on the new Shi body. I’ve seen photos from other owners I’m confident this combination will be very cute, but I remember long ago I had a Mei and her face was rather large compared to “average” msd sized dolls. She never quite “fit in” at meets or with my collection. Will Ju have the same look or is her head/face a bit more proportional if I would have her around minifees, Unoas and such? Either way I will love her but I wanted to mentally prepare!

 

So @nikopiko - you've hit on something that I've also noticed about Resinsoul 1/4 scale or 40ish cm dolls. The heads are a little bigger. Judging by the measurements, you should expect Ju's head to be about the same size proportionally as Mei. It's the reason why I've rebodied my RS heads onto bigger 1/4 scale bodies.

Honestly, I think what I really want is a Mystic Kids-like tweener body - around 46-50 cm would be the right height. Mystic Kids bodies have the thinness, youthful look, and proportions I prefer.

My new girl came in recently. Zhen with default body, but I bought horns too.

It's neat to see a different set of horns on the dragon girls. Any ideas how they'll be painted yet?

@Cryptid I’m not sure yet. I’m thinking a faint grayish brown blushing like a sort of bleached exposed bone look, or pastel rainbow shading to go with the wig. I’ll probably do them last after the wings/legs. I ordered her to swap heads with another RS girl but misjudged yellowing, so I’m starting a concept from scratch. She was supposed to swap onto a centaur body with the horns so that those glorious feathery Dawn ears could go on the much more birdish dragon body.
The bone look would go with the current working name of Demon Chicken. Nothing else will stick.

@MaleficentMrsofEvil Thank you! Nope, zhen. She definitely poses like a Resinsoul! Love my girls, but that engineering isn’t the greatest. She’s getting the wire and glue after I get her painted up.

 

Pastel rainbow horns would be so cool! Those horns look really good on Zhen. I wouldn't have thought to go for them, but they look like they belong with her sculpt

 

Totally agree. They look amazing on her. Good choice! And pastel would be gorgeous with that wig.

 

Hey everyone! I was recently looking into the resinsoul 45cm boy body (human) for my dreamvalley chaos head. Measurements wise (at least what it says online) itd be a perfect fit and I like the muscular aesthetic. My original plan was to get a dreamvalley body, but obviously spending only half that would be great.
Ive come across different sources, one old sales post said that its a good poser while someone else said these bodies are rather bad posers and need mods. What kind of mods would these be? And are you overall satisfied with your doll, what are your Thoughts about them?

Also, may I ask how the resin matching works, do I need to sens them a part of the head? Its in light tan btw, or do you know how both companies tans compare?

So as someone who owns both Dream Valley and Resinsoul, and loves both companies dearly - Dream Valley posing and sculpting is divine... which is why it costs about twice as much.
Resinsoul dolls are beautiful and much more affordable, but they need a lot of help. You're going to need to suede and wire to get decent posing out of Resinsoul bodies. DV bodies pose beautifully right out of the box - well, unless they string them loosely. Then you'll need to tighten them up a bit.

I have the 51cm dream valley boy body and am not a huge fan, although yeah, the body is absolutely gorgeous. Just covered by clothes most of the time

 

Hello everyone!
I just got my very own Mei at Resin Rose. I've always loved her, and she was at a price I just couldn't say no to. Plus she has the most gorgeous faceup. Anyway. My question is what kind of clothes can she wear? I usually collect SDs so I don't have much MSD stuff, but what little I have doesn't seem to fit her her; most of it is too big. She is on the 42cm body I believe. Can she wear minifee or slim msd stuff? Any help with her clothing would be very helpful. I'd like to put her in gothic/punk/emo/gothic lolita stuff if anyone has recomendations.

If you have her on her default body, she is tiny but busty. Minifee clothing would be great, and Withdoll JWD might work, too.
She's definitely a slim mini.

Popping this here, they released a new boy based on Wukong? The body seems new, they say it's 48cm tall

Ohhh! New body~ Definitely Wukong based! I'm not sure how I feel about it, though. I'm wondering if the 48cm height is compensating for the sculpted hair as well. The head is stated as 19cm and it's the same as the 45cm size listings, so not sure. I would love it if it really was a true 48cm, but I guess we will have to see some comparison photos to be sure.

No matter what, I'm super excited to see a new body release!

No real interest in the head (but it's very very different to their usual stuff which is cool to see) but NEW BOY!

I'm gonna have to ask them for a comparison of this body alongside their others. Because I might finally have to order a body for one of my floating heads lol.

The 1/4 Cen equivalent finally shows up! Count me as very curious to see the body with a standard head, to see how it really compares size wise. Do I have a guy that needs a body yet? No, but more body options makes me happy, and RS going in such a wildly different direction with the Wukong head makes me hopeful for what fantasy options they might add next.

 

Thanks for thinking of me! Yeah I just checked this morning. Honestly quite happy about wukong. I read journey to the west last year so seeing the monkey king as a bjd is really cool. Im not super sure about the body, but have to think about it

 

With the new girls I was really sure there'd be a new boy body soon and I wanted to hold off on buying a doll for it, but I bought the doll anyway and now of course they release the new boy body! It looks like it even has a rotating joint for the thighs! It's fine, though, as I might upgrade a Resinsoul boy I already have to this body eventually. The neck is 1 cm more than the older boys. I wonder how an older head will look on it...

 

If you get it please do share with us and also if you get any pictures. I wanted to get the 45cm body for a floating head, the new body looks like it might be a little better posing wise, but the neck is a cm too big for the head :/

 

Those being Lina? I havent ever really chevked Resinsoul much in the past, so I dont know which ones are new xD

 

They'll definitely sand down the neck for you, all you need to do is ask. I've had it done on my 45 cm boy body and I need to ask for it on the Dawn body I'm ordering now.

I'm still planning to get their new-ish 45cm boy body (the one that was released with Tang... which has actually been a while ago I think... I feel old xD) since I really like the chest sculpting on it (it's absolutely PERFECT for the character I'm shelling imo) but I'm tempted to ask them to add a thigh joint to it when I order as I've seen other people do. Seeing the new body has it means I can refer to it in the order email maybe?

I honestly haven't been keeping track of Resinsoul's new releases since around the time the tiny deertaurs came out, but I'm still super impressed with what they've been doing and their customer service from what I've heard. I'm hoping the shelling of this character will go smoothly, he has a DollZone head currently and I keep meaning to make a mockup based on the measurements and then forgetting.

I'm the tiniest bit paranoid that they might discontinue older bodies to make room for new ones but I legit have no idea if they ever do that, I just have my heart set on the 45cm one and not enough free funds to buy it yet so I'm thinking of worst case scenarios... but hopefully it will be fine and I should be able to order it by the end of the year!

I haven't played Black Myth Wukong, but I kind of love this doll. Lookit his little face. Wish we could see the body underneath.

You dont have to, Sun Wukong aka the great monkey king is a book character from a Chinese classic called journey to the west. Its about a pilgrimmage to India to retrieve holy Biddhist texts, based on an actual story that happened in the 600,the book written in the 1600sadds a lot of spice, magic adventure and is worth reading. The game can only be based on the book

 

Ooooooh I like him, actually. He’s pretty appealing, which is difficult to pull off with money designs, and he looks a lot more modern than some other resinsoul dolls.

 

We have a picture of the body alongside Tang and the newer girl. Interesting they opted not to include their Wu or Song boy but there ya go.

New body is a LOT taller. I quite like his legs and the fact he's not as strangely over toned as tang is. Tang's overtoned sinewyness I find quite offputting really. That said, i do wonder if the newer legs are interchangeable with the older dolls. The hip sockets look to be a similar size, so hmmmm. I know that the newer girl arms work on the song/wu boy body and look fine so....

His neck is also bigger (8cm instead of 7) which I wonder if that would be an issue for other older heads. I know Resinsoul will do mods, but even so.

now all that said, I HAVE been wanting a taller than usual body for one of my floating heads. I was hoping we'd get a body that would work for my other head here but I don't think this one will. It's a bit too big.
But i'm going to have to dig heads out and have a little consideration of neck sizes. I might end up doing a big resinsoul body order lol.

I really do like their newer girl body too. I am a sucker for pear shaped bodies.

I just wish they would sell it with Daytime head.... I really liked that head but was not a fan of the centaur body.

 

As long as the head is the right size, they probably will if you ask them.

 

Unfortunately, Daytime says it's sold out... I assume they don't make that head anymore too, right? I think it was limited along with Night.

 

@purple_monkfish thanks for sharing the picture. Yes the new body looks really awsome. Was gonna get the tang body but now Im seriously reconsidering. I would have to ask them to mod the neck aswell, since the head I intend this body for is 7cm. The new body also looks like the poseability is better

OK Thread, I'm delurking to ask for some help with RS bodies! I'm looking for a 40-45 cm RS body for an incoming head. I like the curves of the Rong body but I think it will have some of the typical RS posing problems. I'm wondering if someone has both the Rong (or Li) body and the newer girl bodies ( Shi or Ran) to compare it to so I can evaluate the poseability and ease of accessorizing for all the bodies.

 

So I used to own a Li body, and I now own a Ran body, so while I can't provide pictures, I can say that the torso of the Ran body is less wide than the Li torso, with a bigger chest. It's made me consider whether I should try out Minifee tops on her, since a lot of the slim girl tops I have are still a bit too wide on her and wind up fitting a bit baggier than I'd like. Minifee shorts still fit her, but since she's a little taller, I don't know if minifee pants would fit length-wise, and I don't have any minifee leggings currently to try on mine. That said, she fits well in slim MSD pants regardless of if they are minifee-fitted or not. Shoes are the exact same; I haven't had to get new shoes for mine.

One thing I will say in terms of poseability, is that it can be somewhat difficult to stand the Ran body because of the jointed thighs. If the joint is not sitting right she doesn't want to stand straight, but once you get a handle on where they need to be sitting on the body, she stands fine, even without sueding or wiring! I personally want to wire mine for some extra support just in case, though. Also, her arm joints are wonderful. She can do so much more than my Li girl could do; she can touch her face or put her hand behind her ear a lot easier, and this makes putting her clothes on easier, too.

 

By any chance does anyone have Ran yet? I'm so curious to see owner photos, especially if anyone has her with her default face-up!

 

Hello all! I just wanted to share that I swapped the hands on my Shi body to the Rong hands and I think they suit the body better! What do you think?

 

@nikopiko That's tricky to asses, because I like those long elegant hands and think they look nicely sculpted. But I know longer hands can be weird to fit into shirts and so on. What's the poseability on the wrist like? And the character?

 

I really like the rong hands. I actually have a boy doll with Li's arms and hands and he looks lovely with these beautiful slender hands heh.
I enjoy the hand variation Resinsoul offers us.

 

Custom RS bit I received yesterday and wanted to show as an example: upsized Nian horn!

I asked about having it fit to a 1/4 head, they asked about the length and color, and bam, nicely cast, translucent horn I'm looking forward to seeing on her head when it arrives. Also came predrilled with a hole in the base and a set of magnets for attachment.

Even though I just received my package yesterday, already thinking ahead to another body order for a head from a Taobao maker I'm getting. Head itself will be in a NS shade, but I'm thinking I may paint markings to help it blend with a more colorful body. Debating between that Flame-specific pink they did or a minty pale aqua.

 

That's just amazing. Resinsoul is truly an amazing company.

 

I'm finally getting around to my mini-size dolls, but instead of getting clothing and/or wigs for the ones I have, I ended up ordering a Jun.
I really love all the new dolls they're putting out, but there are some oldies that have been haunting my "wannabuy" muscle for a decade now - and Jun is one of them. Just love those ears.
I ordered him in purple, because I don't have any dolls in the newer purple yet...

I do have some clothes knocking around for Valerian and Tarragon (RS Wu and FF/RS Iruhi respectively), so I may actually have some spam soon...

 

Please, post spam of Iruhi! I was thinking about that sculpt a few weeks ago and kick myself for not ordering before FF shut down. It's too bad more people don't have one to show.

The fourth is Rosemary, who is a Li, but she doesn't really have the right clothes yet...

Thank you both! I found the boys' clothes here on the MP a few months ago - I think they were both Dollheart outfits - I'm bad about keeping packaging and about keeping notes, unfortunately...
I love the steampunk-y vibe they have now. I'm looking for something similar for Rosemary.

I'm currently obsessing over my MSD-sized dolls. They're in a separate cabinet, and if one falls over there's a whole domino effect... Poor Columbine lost a finger earlier this year. Fortunately it was no problem ordering new hands for her. I love Resinsoul, they're just the best when it comes to customer service. And she now has jointed hands, too.

Anyway, I'm now getting them all stands so there's no more falling over. (The dragons are especially bad at balancing, and I'm terrified of them breaking a wing or something. Although I wouldn't be surprised if Sun were willing to sell me a new set of wings!)

And anyway, to make up for the waffling - here's some Rhiannon-spam. She got a new dress in the mail today, and I love it! (It was made by LaPetiteEgriene on Etsy.)

 

Question on Resinsoul colors, based on reading old comments: how badly does the pink age? I’m concerned about it ending up looking like normal skin as it yellows and the red pigment ages.

 

My Zhen is faded to NS almost (slightly pinkish still), but I bought Yan horns for her last year, and they're significantly more pink than she originally would have been (compared to the inside of her headcap and her joints).
I think both the pink and the purple changed in recent years.

It's been over a month since my custom order, I'm hoping I get one of those "surprise" notifications that it's delivering soon. I can't wait.

 

I have a question that maybe one of you who owns a RS Sui can answer - about how big is his ankle/ankle joint in circumference? Totally not wondering if I could frankenstein it on another doll in theory...

 

It's about 6.5cm/6.4cm depending on outer ankle joint or the ball part which has a slight recess.
