Yep shipping is slow especially from China I'm waiting on some doll items from 3 months ago..it's still sitting in customs in China waiting for a flight or something...no clue I'm giving it 10 more days like they asked and then I'm just giving up and asking for a refund..it's sad because they were really cool pieces, but whatcha gonna do, it's understandable and not their fault. I will probably just not be buying anything overseas for a while..unless I can get them to ship DHL. Because at least from Japan DHL shipping was ridiculously fast,
Though I still have a few RS dolls I want to get..lol..I'm trying to wait to see if they are going to make a boy with the new joints first.

I actually ended up sewing my Xun a dress the other night, because she has such a large bust, and doesn’t fit into a lot the other dresses I own. I think it came out alright, for being the third thing I’ve ever sewn. Lol

and yeah, i'm in the "wait and see" phase for china and us parcel. I also have an ebay seller who couldn't access their warehouse and asked me to wait and now have stopped replying so hmmm.

I don't mind waiting, i'd just like to know what was happening you know?

Did my new Resinsoul Ya’s faceup last night. I’m pretty happy with her. Does anyone know how to keep these girls’ legs from constantly popping into the bent position? I tried putting some wire in them, but it didn’t do much to help.... maybe I need some thicker wire? Idk...

You need thicker elastic, I use 4.5mm for the legs and 4mm for the arms

 

I keep a huge stash of extra elastic for these cases, different sizes. I've had a few dolls sent home with me over the years as patients. I have found many times that thicker elastic will do just fine. I think the factory may do it for cost savings or maybe even shipping reasons? Most dolls need at least an adjustment in the tension.

 

Way back when I got my first boy (pre-ResinSoul days when it was just Bobobie), they sent them loosely strung because there'd been issues with joints chipping when shipped under full tension; there could still be something of that left, whether it's an actual risk, or whether, because of that, they're still afraid of it all these years later. But thicker elastic and tight stringing really does work wonders on these guys!

 

gorgeous faceup...I really need to learn how to do faceups...even after almost 10yrs I'm just no good at it..lol


On another subject my RS order is sorta on it's way...they shipped UPS so I'm not expecting to receive it for probably months. It's been over a week since it's been shipped and it's still saying label created which basically means it's just sitting at UPS waiting to be scanned and processed..unless they forgot to scan it..so when they arrive will be a mystery I'm not going to obsess and keep checking tracking they'll get here when they get here..I already waited 5 months for this order so I guess another month or so is nothing..lol. I just hope it arrives safe and undamaged.

 

So... I didn't think I'd get a Resinsoul/Bobobie after having a couple and passing them on, but here I am! I bought a bobobie Pixie after repeatedly staring at the listing.

She's waiting on a wig... And eyes. And a new body. The only thing I don't have planned out and arriving in a few days are some eyeballs. I did not realize this girl took 18mm Oh well, she's my little garden elf and I'll find something.

 

I saw that green gal! I was tempted lol. She's lovely. I adore the green.

 

Her green is absolutely lovely! It's mellowed a bit over time and it's the delightful pea-green. I finally achieved my goal of getting a green doll with her.

Howdy y'all! I got a question for anyone who has bought a Resinsoul doll through Bobobie!
Have you ever received a CoA?

I'm trying to confirm a theory that any Resinsoul doll ordered through BBB does not come with a printed CoA, so I can add info to the wiki.

 

You could ask the owner of DDE? They're usually pretty good at answering questions and seem to deal with BBB a lot more than most.
BBB just drive me insane with their lack of communication so i've never ordered from them. My only BBB doll I got secondhand instead.

I did ask if they ordered from BBB or RS already, and got an answer of BBB- and that they never receive CoAs for those dolls.
I just wanted to confirm this info with anyone whose ordered through BBB... but not DDE. In case DDE was a special case since bulk orders.

 

that is kinda wierd. Don't the resinsouls from bbb also come in bbb boxes? I was under the impression BBB did the casting so maybe that's why no certificates, they cast and stick into their own packaging while resinsoul put them into theirs and add the certificates at that point.

 

DDE seems to get the same from bobobie as anyone else, and when I've gotten resinsouls from them in the past they came in bbb boxes. Resinsoul and Bobobie being technically two different entities as far as sales always confuses me (especially since bobobie is rather hard to get a hold of for ordering. My partner still adores their charisma sculpt but the hoops to jump through to get that head on not a bobobie body seems rather annoying at best.)

Anyways, I got my pixie done up, nice eyes/wig and a more time intensive faceup did a lot for her I think!

I'm on the fence about her right now though, she's a cutie but figuring out a hybrid I'd like has been a chore. I'm not much of one for resinsoul bodies myself so the simplest solution isn't all that appealing. I am way too picky

I'm getting anxious waiting for my Mei after watching @Kitty Blue's big RS unboxing video. The rainbow of colours were so pretty! I'm kicking myself for not getting a custom face-up.

 

Speaking of my box opening here are the photos from the dolls I just received...This was the most exciting box opening I've ever done. Most of the colors came out sooo amazing. My dragon girl was suppose to be a mint green not blue but I can't say enough about the fabulous faceups and blushing they did. I'm so glad that RS started doing custom colors and they certainly are upping their faceup game.

 

Do you have the swatches you sent for the red and purple? I'm sitting here plotting hahaha.

 

colors will not be exact with swatches due to color monitor settings, etc so keep that in mind when you send them a message. I'd suggest googling red color swatch, etc and copy the image of the red color you'd like but don't expect it to be 100%, they will come as close to it as they can. Mine are off from what I sent but the outcome for most of them except my dragon were tolerable.

 

Did you just send swatches, or also include the color values? (something like this) so it's not as likely to be distorted by monitor settings?

 

Oh Kitty, my first Resinsoul was a custom colour so I know the drill heh.

I used a panatone swatch, did you do the same?

 

I just sent them a google image of the colors and and a picture of an object in the same color. I know colors can be unreliable depending on montitor settings. However all the colors were pretty spot on except for the dragon it was way off. The card it came with said blue when I asked for mint green, the other cards have the right color names on them, like the one I requested in peach says peach on it. It's a nice blue color and they did an amazing job with the blushing.

 

That is one grand haul, @Kitty Blue ! That sucks about your dragon, though. It seems to me that your custom color got lost in the shuffle. I'm having flashbacks to when my partner ordered a little yu and requested dark blue resin. Instead of a mixup for another color, however, resinsoul neglected to say they couldn't cast such a dark color in solid and sent us a little transparent yu. It was an awesome color, mind you, but it sure as heck wasn't what my partner ordered. Resinsoul did fix their mistake fast and sent us a grey yu that I dyed the right color.

 

lol...yeah I had to catch up for the years that I was buying other company dolls instead of Resinsoul, but I'm back in my natural habitat...lol. When I sent the email they right away responded that the deep purple I requested would not be exact it would be lighter and they were uncertain how "red" they could get the red, they didn't mention anything about the mint green. The colors all came out so cool. Dark blue transparent resin sounds cool. I do want to get a color transparent at some point need to work out all the details for the next big custom order..lol. Just waiting on a boy centaur and new boy double joints.

 

@Kitty Blue Your crew is so stunning! How much longer was the wait, or the gathering of all the samples you needed to finished doll?

When I got Nhar, who's a custom aqua kinda colour his card says "green" when he sure as heck isn't green. It's wierd.

I may have to copy you Kitty with the purple and red hahaha. I really love how vivid they managed to get several of those colours and how deep they are. I'd love a full doll in dark purple, it'd be so beautiful.

as i said on facebook, i'm so impressed by the custom faceups too. RS really have upped their game.

 

Thank you, they really did do an amazing job. I ordered at the end of December along with their holiday and the Covid 19 things got really delayed. The shipping notification I received May 15 and they arrived May 29th. So under normal circumstances I'm not certain how long a custom order would take, I'll find out when I place another order in a month or so, hopefully things are back on track by then. It use to be typically that orders were about 1- 1 1/2 months.

 

@Kitty Blue wow! What a stunningly beautiful collection of colored resin! I can just see them interacting with the rest of your amazing characters. It must certainly have felt like Christmas morning when that amazing lot arrived.

 

Yes it did and sooo happy to be back to my Resinsoul roots. I can't believe it will be 10yrs in July since I got my first dolls. I wish I could say I never want to look at any other companies dolls but..lol..I'm too tempted by other fantasy sculpts out there.

 

I'm new to BJDs, and have been lurking in this thread since joining the forum. I went onto Resinsoul's site the other day and immediately fell in love with Xun's sculpt. Seeing pictures of the sculpt on here have definitely solidified that love; the eyes are so nice and big... It's going to take me a real long time to save up, and I don't think I'll regret buying her once I do!

Xun is gorgeous, she reminds me of Mei or Ju but a little more refined, for want of a better term.
She's on my wishlist.

I have a few resinsouls on my wishlist but they're sort of not urgant and probably going to be next year at this rate. Maybe a christmas present to myself if I have the money lol.

I plan to get 2 Xun in grey to be my twins
Ju in a custom deep purple
and Zhen on maybe the Yao body in regular blue.

Then i'd have an example of all of RS's fantasy colours hahah.

I keep hoping they'll release more heads and bodies because i'd love a properly red doll or a teal one or something, that'd be awesome. But I tend toward boy dolls in my collection. So i'm waiting.

 

I saw Zhen and loved her almost as much as I loved Xun. Ju looks absolutely precious! I hope you're able to get them for Christmas, and if not all of them, then one or two.

 

Hi everyone! I just received my Resinsoul Twilight in the mail today and I love her! I don't have anything at all ready for her yet as she was a sudden purchase, but I can't wait to see what she becomes!

 

I am continually amazed by how responsive, understanding and quality RS is for the price point. They will never not be my recommendation for a first doll, a last doll, or any doll in between. Seriously, companies that charge four times as much for dolls are not half as customer-focused, and while I respect that not every company can do custom work, Sun just does such a wonderful job.
Pps: I need a twilight head on a human body yesterday, she is stunning!

 

Can anyone with a Song sculpt measure just the eye opening (horizontal and vertical) in mm for me?

 

Hey guys! I wanted to share my first bjd with everyone. I got her to 2 yrs ago and she has been in a box up until a few days ago. I finally got the guts to do her faceup and give her a wig. Her faceup is a bit messy but I love how she turned out! Her name is Faye. She is a Yao in light tan. Now for next steps: blush her body + hooves and give her some clothes. I am so excited to continue working on her

My bodies arrived but as I haven't yet got the wigs in I feel bad taking photos of the dolls bald and unfinished lol. Twilight looks peeved about being bald.

Does anyone have a dark tan doll? I recently got a MF Moe body in agra tan and I want to match it up with a Lu head but all the pictures I've seen of RS's dark tan are all so different... I'd probably be better off ordering in white and dyeing the head myself

 

I have a couple in dark tan and yeah, the colour can be a bit inconsistant and is very very light. Sort of a chocolate milk sort of colour. there's definitely a cool undertone to it. Fairyland's tan looks more orange undertoned to me. Resinsoul's is more bluish?

resinsoul WILL however do colourmatching. Now it might not be perfect but it is an option. My suggestion would be to go to a DIY shop, use those paint swatches they have and find one that matches the body tone. Then send that swatch physically to them. You can send a digital swatch but that has more risk of difference as screens display colour differently.

The other option is blushing the head. Blushing a head to match a body is waaaaay easier than doing a body to match a head. But I fear resinsoul's regular dark tan is likely to be entirely the wrong colour to start with.

 

Thanks! I ended up just ordering a Lu head off Denver Doll in normal skin and am going to dye it myself. However in the future I will definitely take that paint chip swatch idea when I get my Napalm heads in so I can match the blue to get the right color bodies. Never thought of doing that!

 

Does anyone know if a Fei head might work on a Zhen body? I really would love a dragon girl but I’m not crazy about Zhen’s face.

 

I just received my Zhen today! I have been wanting a green female dragon since Sui was released, and when I returned to the hobby this year I was ecstatic that they'd released one. Her green is gorgeous, this photo shows the shade the best compared to her actual shade (on my screen at least!)


She is so tall! I took a couple photos of her next to my dark tan Mei to show the difference.

Are Fei and Mei's heads the same size? If so I can take a photo of Mei's head on Zhen's body but it will look weird

 

Your Zhen is so pretty especially with those eyes. And I do believe that Fei is supposed to be a dreaming version of Mei so I would really appreciate a photo on Zhen if possible when you have time.

 

Zhen is gorgeous and I love RS's green.

As for the Mei/Fei heads, they're all a 6-7inch wig size but the newer heads (zhen, xun, shi?) are all a bit wider? However, the smaller heads definitely fit the taller bodies just fine.
I have a Li head on the tall body and it looks pretty good.

If I have a chance, my husband has a Mei in dark grey and I happen to have a xun body in dark grey as well (which is the same as the Zhen body but without the dragon parts and bigger boobage hahaha) so I could do a swap and there would be no distracting colour difference.

But as far as i've been able to tell, ALL the msd resinsoul heads except the tiny Lan and whatever that grinning sculpt with the fin ears is called fit on any of the msd bodies. Some of the heads are a little fatter (Twilight and Dawn have quite wide heads, as does Ming) but they are all approximately the same size as one another.

My sewing machine is arriving tomorrow, can't wait to start on outfits for my dolls!

 

my twilight's wig came but I need o get a balloon to keep it on. she has a somewhat flat head so the wig can't grip anywhere and just slips off. *sigh*

I also need to find her a proper corset that fits her big boobage lol.
I don't think she's as busty as the minifee though, so hmmm.

@purple_monkfish It’s good to know that most msd heads can work on other bodies. The only Resinsoul I currently own is a Ming so I wasn’t sure how others might measure up. Now I know he just has a big head lol.

 

I got a custom order from RS in back in June, and now this boy is finally a finished doll and I'd love to show him off! Meet Otrava!


He is a Song head on a 45cm boy body with Sui hands and wings! I sent Sun a HEXcode for the specific shade of light gray I wanted, and the match is perfect.
His hands, forearms and wings are all cast in transparent purple.
