Resinsoul Ai (Hooved Doll) Discussion

A friend of mine is looking at an Ai and is still waiting to be approved to post here (come on DoA). She is wondering if you can put pants on her with the hooved legs? Will normal SD pants fit or do you need something custom? Has anyone done this or have pictures?

 

I love her face mold, those horns are beautiful~ not too sure about the body though...

 

The body is what I absolutely adore.

 

I'm suspecting that the legs on the boy version are the exact same ones as on the Ai.
They look better proportioned on the Ai.

 

What a gorgeous Ai! Her blushing and faceup are lovely.
I like the body a lot! It's really nicely sculpted--she has a beautiful back, and the butt dimples are very cute Very pretty, expressive hands as well.
I ended up wishing I'd gotten the Dan horns with mine--I find hers a little awkward, though I like them on other peoples' dolls. Apart from that my Ai is awesome.

Averis, most pants won't fit her. They will go over the hooves fine, but won't go over her thigh fur. I made my Ai a pair of short bloomers, and those fit.

 

Hey wildwood I beleive I just saw a FS thread here tonight for some dan horns they were $20 or trade for wig or eyes. Have no idea where. I was searching Resinsoul and ran across them.

 

Oh, thanks! I'll check it out. I have some plans to order a doll from RS this fall, so I was going to get some then, But I will look at these.

Will have to follow this thread, my girl right now is in pieces, I finally got all the paint off of her and am hoping to have time to blush her and make her some clothing. Have never unstrung a doll before or done faceups, we'll see how it goes.

sorry to be asking it there.. but when i posted on ResinSoul forum and asked.. they didnt reply and seeing so many of you have ordered her already .. does Ai come with a default wig and eyes? or we have to purchase them separately? and what wig size and eyes does she use? ResinSoul website.. doesnt state them.. *needs to confirm everything since i am quite tempted to save up for one..* Ai is pulling my heartstrings badly.. >_<

and also.. do you order directly from ResinSoul? or is there another web that we can order from?

Ai comes with default eyes, no wig.
I have always ordered right from ResinSoul , they are great! I have ordered several times there with no trouble at all. You can also order from Denver Doll Emporium if you prefer somewhere in the US.

Ai is a great sculpt, good luck, I hope she comes home to you !

Hi everyone! :3 Does anyone know if Ai can wear a 7-8 wig with a somewhat stretchy cap? I want to buy her a Leekeworld wig, but the color I want only comes in a size 7-8. :/

 

Yes. I have a size 7/8 Monique Gold wig on mine.

I received my Ai and i have to admit that the unique problem with this body is that she don't sit. in any position. I have to modify the hips, i think. However, she can stands very well, she can touch her face, and without restringing, wiring and so on!

One of the first dolls I fell in love with was Soom Beryl. But I wasn't able to get the money for her in time before she sold out. Then one day I happened upon AI and I was so thrilled!.

In my opinion everything about her is ideal. I have been wanting to do a unicorn doll. Her delicate feminine faun legs are perfect. I DO like the Soom legs but on such a delicate frame with delicate features... Its stunning. I also prefer Ai's face to Beryl's. I am not such a fan of her pout.

Ai is going to be my first doll and I am so stoked for having the money to order her. I have been wanting a doll since I was 16... I am now 26!!!

Hi there! I'm having a bit of trouble clothing one of my dolls (she's a resinsoul Ai) and was just wondering if there's some resources that any of you would recommend for getting her a wig/clothing. Thank you!

 

A lot of it is trial and error, but generally I try to have my doll's measurements noted somewhere and compare that to the measurements of the clothing I'm looking at. E.g., doll is from company A and the clothes are from B, and B has their own doll line, so you compare those measurements to see if those clothes or wig will fit.

 

Ah, I suppose that could work, but its a bit more due to her body shape that's giving me a touch of trouble.

 

Zennosaji's advice is great. I would also recommend making your own wigs! It saves money and it's pretty easy once you get the hang of it (I think it's really fun to but that's just me) you can really easily buy alpaca or mohair on online stores. Personally I like to use yarn.

 

Well, like I said to them, its a tad bit more about the doll's shape (though their advice was definitely helpful, I hadn't thought of comparing before) rather than just finding a fit in general. And I would certainly love to make wigs. I actually plan to do clothes/wigs/accessories as I can to save money.

I had a similar problem with my girl because she's very curvy. It might just be you have to buy bottoms from one company and tops from another. Plenty of people have a ResinSoul though so it's definitely doable.

 

No problem at all! I'm apologize for misunderstanding your question! Perhaps buying boys bottoms would be safer, since the men's sizes tend to be a bit bigger since your problem is with her hips.

 

Sorry, I suppose I should be more clear. My doll has hooves and long ears that I'm pretty sure for a bit farther back than other ears, so I have to be careful of that. Though come to think of it, I'm not too sure if I'm going to have issues with ehr body shape overall or not. (Once again, I'm really sorry for being confusing.)

 

I'm really sorry, I should have included this in the main post, but my problem is with her hooves and long ears. I'm really sorry I wasn't clear about that way sooner.

 

Are you worried about it going over her head? O_o and her hooves aren't that big, they should fit most bottoms that aren't skinny fit. Do a search for other people's Ais and see what they're wearing.

 

Oh I see. I would advise against trying to put clothes over her head. You should remove the head instead. I dot know about her hooves though, sorry!

 

I know this is an old thread but does anyone have ai's thigh circumference measurement? (For the sake of a hybrid in the works)

 

Just stumbled on your post and did a quick measurement for you! Turns out it's give or take 14 cm or 5.51 inch.


Ai has sculpted fur on the back of her thighs. I measured right above that, which is close to the joint as well. If the legs were smooth, this would probably be the thickest part. If you include the fur in the measurement it will probably only add a few millimeters.

Hey everyone, its been a while. So I hope you and your hooved beauties are doing well.
I ordered an Ai body for my DC Lilian head and am anxiously awaiting her. But I heard that Resinsoul has some poseability issues and its my first time ordering from them, so I wanted to ask what your experiences are? Any Mods or sueding I have to prepare myself for mentally? Thanks in advance
