Resinsoul Ai (Hooved Doll) Discussion

O_o'' I love the hooves! They look so tiny and delicate, if compared with soom's... I've been looking for something like that, and I think they are perfect!

I happen to love the horns, too. very demonic!

 

Wow! I wished it will be an opportunity to buy the body with hooves and horns only...

 

I don't like the hooves at all. Too small for my taste. I wonder how her balance is on those small things.

And I don't like the hairs on her upper legs. I don't find hair on female bodies feminine at all, and that's also why I sanded off the hairs on my ambers fauna hands, lol.

 

So I guess this is their Holiday sale

I like the doll but I was really hoping some of the other dolls would be on sale for the Holidays or something.
But it's really helpful if you want this one!

 

Ive seen Cuprits hooves IRL and I found them too huge.
So Im curious how this one will be in live.
I love her face and horns are amazing, but I dont like the hairs on the upper legs either. Well they can be sanded of.
Im also curious if the upper legs can be exchanged with standart girls body.
I dont think Resinsoul can put their dolls on sale for more cheaper prices as they already are

 

I was thinking the same thing... my god girl shave yourself it looks a bit odd.

I do love the sculpt and the hooves... as to if she stands well only time and first owners can tell.

They say she's 58 cm and I am just... not sure about that.. she might have the body of the 58 cm doll but with the hooves I would think she is taller.

I thought I was done with dolls for a while. Boy was I wrong.

 

Oh, I quite like Resinsoul's version of a hooved doll. As much as I love the big hooved Soom dolls, they are just so BIG and I find them so awkward to handle. ^^; Ai looks much more manageable, and I find her dainty hooves/legs quite pretty and faun-like. Awesome horns, too!

Now if only I liked the headmold. xD

 

Well...I'm glad they're leaping into hoof territory...and I like the sculpting of the tendons/muscles on the back of the legs and the look of the jointing...but..Resinsoul isn't exactly known for it's jointing/stability and little hooves would make balancing rather difficult. But I suppose we'll only know for sure after people start ordering them/getting them home.

 

I love this new sculpt for the head and horns, but I'm not really big on the hooves (just ebcause none of my characters have hooves.)

I'm wondering if they can do a switch like, with that head on a regular girl's body kinda things for the same price?

And it seems that their Chrismas/New Year's event is just going to be a discount on these two new dolls (there's a boy comeing out in the next day or so). It's nice that they've discounted the new dolls, but I was really hoping for some other event that had discounts on other dolls. I really want a Long and Lian!

 

i do like her, Her horns and legs remind me of a gazelle, i think with the right faceup the head would look a bit better, overall i think she has potential

I'm wavering on ordering one today! And I don't even really collect girl dolls! O_O

 

I'm not sure if Resinsoul does head/body swaps but Bobobie does. If she ends up being sold through Bobobie you could swap out the head for another that they offer. (or swap out the body for the basic body if you don't want the hooves) The top part of the body looks the same as the Resinsoul basic body.
(and remember she is offered in eight colors!!)

I actually like her thin legs and smaller hooves, it makes her more delicate, like a deer. like alot of people from what I can see, I didn't like the fur on her tights at first. But now I see it as something original and it makes her even more suited to me a faun!

I'm really curious about how well she would hold her balance on those tiny hooves of hers. I guess we'll have to wait for owner pictures. If her balance isn't that bad I'm most likely going to order one at some point in the future ^_^

 

well...even if balance is not that great, i'm planning on wiring this girl so she'll stand like a rock regardless ;> But those are such beautiful hooves , i'm honestly over the moon.
He thighs are not human long and leg is more satyr like proportioned, keeping her same height.

I'm not in the market for a doll with hooves, but this pair is still interesting, it looks different from any hooves available elsewhere. However, I really like this head sculpt and would like to see it on the normal girl body. I didn't have plans to get any dolls from Resinsoul unless they released a crazy-looking 70cm girl with a resemblance to Lu, at which point I would totally buy one in strawberry resin to be a gigantic pink demon-woman monstrosity (after all, who doesn't love gigantic pink demon-woman monstrosities?), but this new sculpt is so sweet and sad-looking! I might want one @__@

 

OH. My. God. I think my floating head's body just got put on hold. This girl is perfect for a new character of mine. It (yes, it) is an sexless fallen angel/demon which happens to have hooves. I wonder if I'd be able to mod the chest with the joint being right there? Agh, I don't actually care if I couldn't, though. I wannnt oneee!

I think I may try it. I'm just worried about my stupid self accidentally screwing up the edge of the jointing. It looks like the edge of the joint comes down farther on the female chest than on the male, but I'm sure that won't be a problem to work with if I do some careful dremeling.

I love the horns! They are so different. I don't know why but they remind me of an octopus.

 

Wow. The big hooves on the SOOMs are so awkward to deal with, this is a winner in my book. And her face!!

I only i'd known! (not that i'm unhappy with Mei, but...)

One problem with her, though, is that her horns, though they have a pretty concept, I do wish they were less "stretched" and more curved. they allmost look as if they used to point upwards, and have melted down!

 

I'm definitely getting one for christmas.

 

Heh. She leaped right onto my wishlist, that's for sure! I actually like her thigh-fur. >.>;; I'm a little unsure about her face...but everything else I just love! Her horns are so unique and her hooves are so delicate.... I can't get anymore dolls this year but next year...she's coming home. (I'll probably wait for JS to get her in stock and get her that way...haha *hates waiting*)

That actually did listen, that is great! I love the update on the horns makes it different to dan and more individual. I must admit that the design has come out better than I expected and is really beautifully thought out. Well done to Resin Soul really lovely

 

I think she's lovely! She is going straight onto my wishlist. I really like the small hooves and prefer them over Sooms bigger ones.

 

Joining the discussion, obviously being an agent for them I'm excited to see them release such an affordable fantasy doll, it's long overdue!!!

On a personal level I'm considering one for myself and swapping the head for some of my floating ones . . . . . oooo the possibilities!!!

 

Resinsoul faces are always much lovelier in real life than in the company photos. I like the look of this face- she has a nice little pout. Someone asked about hooks in the news thread- I can't say for sure, but I think Resinsoul now uses hooks in their dolls. If not, it is very easy to add them (I buy restringing kits from Junkyspot- very reasonable price of just a few bucks and restringing can make a huge difference).
I personally dislike hooves on dolls because they wig me out but these are nice and delicate. It would be nice to have some more delicate deer antlers to go with them, esp for a Christmas doll.

 

I wonder if Ai can stand - but my kneejerk reaction over all was a definate want - especially for the price. They say there will be a boy version coming out in a few days. I can't wait to see what he looks like.

 

They definitely are! I ordered a 70cm Feng from JunkySpot with a face-up with the intention of getting it wiped and re-done by someone. When he arrived though, I tried on the wig and like the default face-up so much that I'm going to keep it now.

I love this new girl. The only way she'd be better for me was if she was 1/4 scale. I'm very much considering her anyway though with "coffee" or "gray" for a resin color.

The doll bag looks nice too!

 

the price is incredible, and you know I love those graceful legs too, the delicate hooves say a lot more satyr to me thant he big soom ones...though I still love the Soom for boys, can't wait to see the boy version of this. My only problem with her is her head looks a little big for her body for me. I think she MAY have made it onto my list though, a bit of modding would see her right as rain.

Oh and I hate bopdy hair on males or females, but I LOVE her thigh hair

Imagine that girl with the "antlers" that Brightnasa sells. I can see a Lady Herne the Huntress. I got a pattern for leaf vests ...maybe I could make it into a leaf mini-dress. I have been kicking that idea around. Oh and a mohair wig from tinybear in a shade of green on the top fading to brown at the bottom like a tree. She may just be my next "big" idea.

Well, they're working on a guy that will be posted in a few days, so maybe they're working on MSD size aswell.
And the horn... yeah it's silly, but at least it shows what the magnetic headcap is capable of.

 

I think the horns might look really nice on the top of her head facing backwards, like a Gazelle !

 

Oh, ResinSoul, how I love you! Yet another beautiful girl to add to my list and a boy on the way too. If only I had the money for another doll (or ten). However I must first await the arrival of Jun and Dan before wistfully wishing for Ai.

 

Oh, my. I had just about 100% decided on Lian as my next doll, and now there's Ai. I LOVE her. It's not just the hooves--her face is fantastic, and she's on SALE. Y'all, the doom is on me. I have a lavender demon girl in my mind who needs to come to life... I'm not totally sold on the base of the horns, but I bet that would sand off. And her hooves are so delicate. She does look like she might have issues standing, but I bet it's fixable.


Regarding sanding off her boobies: You can't . Her boobs are hollow. At least my Dan's are, and I'm sure Ai's are the same. Not totally hollow, so you could sand them smaller, but not off. I'd say there's 1/2 to 3/4 inches of, um, boob resin.

 

awww.... I really like the legs, but the hooves are waaaaaaay too small for my taste. I liked the SOOM hooves of doom, and I was hoping that the RS ones would be a bit larger. I like the new headsculpt though.

Maybe the male ones will be a bit larger, perhaps the hoof part can be exchanged with the female ones?

I wonder if we can order the hoof parts in another resin colour? I was planning to just grab a WS Ai and blush her hooves a dark grey, but then realised that it would chip too much :/

 

I'd email the company, they are usually really good at answering questions and they are quite helpful.

 

I've heard Resinsoul is pretty good about customizing orders.

Oh, I forgot this in my last post, but my Dan DID come with S-hooks in her wrists and ankles, even though old Bobobie bodies don't. It's confusing because some of the dolls in the website photos don't seem to have S-hooks, but I think all the production ones do.

 

I heard all Resinsoul made dolls have S-hooks, but Bobobie doesn't, regardless of where they're sold.

 

I have to have her... Sheesh I'm already shelling out money for a DZ Tan Yuu and Soom Sabik. I'm going to be soooo broke. First I'm going to wait to see the boy, if I want to buy him too, I'll wait until next year and buy them at the same time.

 

The single horn (while funny!) is there to show that they are using the special ball-bearing magnets inside the head case - so that the horns can be placed almost anywhere on the head, and moved around at will, very easily.

Perhaps a smaller mold's head can be placed on Ai's body, in this way the other head would not be too large. However, Ai's face is so sweet and a little sad, that I liked it right away.

 

She looks pretty cool.

I'm not sure how I feel about the fur on the thighs though.

too many companies are just blindly jumping on the hoofies bandwagon after soom.

I have to disagree. These hooves are nothing like Sooms, and the fur is easily removable.
Besides, can you actually blame companies for making hooves when there's so much people wanting them?
I think these hooves are more realistic than Soom's. You don't see a deer with giant backlegs like Amber's.

 

I totally agree. I think that it is great that companies are listening to their customers and making what people want to buy. I also think that it is great that these hooves are so different from Soom's, giving people more to choose in the hoof department.
These hooves look more in proportion to the body like a goats hoof rather than a Clydesdale's.
I think they only look too small to some people because we're used to seeing Soom's big hooves. They struck me as small when I first saw them, but they look great to me now.
I like the look of the jointing in the legs.....I wonder well how she'll pose.

 

I would think this is definitely a camera-angle issue. I have the Dai (which is the 58 cm human girl) and I'm pretty sure this head would be the same size. Her head is not overlarge at all.
