Is anyone driving to the hotel who owns an iron? Mom might be teaching a class (hasn't heard back with her time slot yet) and if so, she needs at least one iron for a demo.

Edit: apparently someone has already volunteered to bring an iron, but more irons means more stuff to show people.

 

Oh thank goodness, I've been having to go to her house to use her sewing machine and she keeps saying she doesn't know when her timeslot is, I will let her know

I know I'm bringing the FIDs and Party Martian because he's so portable... Marigold gets the most attention and I took her to the fantasy doll meetup last in-person con, and Vince is my oldest and has been with me every time before... it's definitely hard to choose.

I'm really excited about the DIY room!

 

I'm feeling the who to bring debate too. I think Rapunzel, Julia, and Chii are definites but am debating the rest. On the possibility list are my tan obitsu, a dollce obitsu 11cm, harmonia humming Holo and a 1/4 tinyfox girl.

 

@MysteryAya what's the PJ Themed Party listed on the email schedule (which i love by the way. So nice to see an overview of what's happening where) on Saturday night?

Mom needs to finish her costume, so we're going to be hanging around the hotel today, sadly.

 

I'm excited about next year's theme! Is it fair game to discuss now? It was hard to hear the details over the audience chatter (would be great to have the microphone turned up higher in the future to compensate for that, if possible), so I'm looking forward to getting a synopsis so I can start planning for next year.

 

What was the theme for next year?
Things didn't turn out exactly how I planned for this year (the heat, excitement, and a bit too much movement messed with a not-quite-healed injury so I spent a chunk of the day laying down in my hotel room) but I still had a lot of fun with things I did make it too. If my health/time/et cetera, permits I would love to go next year!

 

Yeah, the heat and a lack of sleep meant I was not at my best on Sunday either... we're local so didn't get a hotel room, but not close enough to drive home for a quick nap, so I struggled for the last few hours lol.

I'm going to go ahead and assume that since it was announced at the Closing Ceremony, the next theme is now free to discuss:

Coffeeshop AU

But because I couldn't hear all the details, I'm unclear whether the focus is more on cafe aesthetic side or on the AU/general fanfiction tropes side.

 

The sky bridge at the hotel though very unique, was acting like a big air funnel pushing heat into the vendors room/exhibit hall. It was hot in there! Sorry you couldn't go have a lay down. I hope the hotel figures something out before next year.

Coffee shop AU does sound like a really fun theme!

 

It was so great to see you guys around in the vendor hall and to get to chat with people in person and see so many dolls, and I'm definitely excited for next year's theme!

 

I had an awesome time vending but somehow did not get to take a single photo It was lovely to speak with everyone in person though.

 

I had SUCH a great time and look forward to going again next year!
