Resin Rose BJD Expo 2017: Discourse and excitement

oh man, it's sooo close! I've been sewing like a fiend but I still don't have as much done as I was hoping for. This seemed a bit easier last year when I was only working part-time.

 

We are almost sold out on swap spaces. We only have 4 spots left. If you are interested please visit our website resinrosebjd.com in the member registration section or email us at [email protected] if you are interested. We will not be able to add more space.

The swap is free to attend as long as your registered. Spots to sell or trade are $10.00

 

I usually use the tags with strings and loop them onto the clothing.

 

I bagged my stuff. Ziploc bags are easy to open and I don't mind at all. Everything is clearly marked with size and prize. I'm also considering making a sign with things I'm looking for to make trading easier. Would that make sense?

 

I don't either! The 2 I want to bring have nothing to wear, so I either have to start sewing or pick someone else to bring. Decisions, decisions...

 

Aaah, I'm so excited! Just scanned this thread for the first time, lol. This is my first BJD convention, and I'm thrilled to see how many people are excited for it; I think I'm going to have a ton of fun!

In a fun turn of events, I just moved out of my apartment in Salem and am in limbo at my parents' house in Seattle for the next month, so driving back down to Portland next weekend with (hopefully all!) of my doll stuff is going to be kind of hilarious xD

I don't have any specifically video-game themed guys (though I do have a 1/3 scale Wiimote!), but I have a TON of stuff for the swap (got my swap space!), and am super pumped for that, and for the panels! *happy dance*

Now if I can find a place in my parents' house to set up my faceup stuff to finish my entry for the contest...

 

I'm sooo excited for this! I'm flying out all the way from Virginia with friends to visit our friend out there, and we're all going to Resin Rose together

My dad actually brought something to my attention that I did want to ask about though. When we leave a doll on display for a contest, what kind of security is in place making sure no funny business goes down? Will there always be attendants watching between drop off and pick up?

Tomorrow I paint my faceup contest entry, then I've got jewelry to finish making, hats to do, two quick dresses just for the sake of having complete costumes on the table... and if possible, more shirts.

 

So excited! We fly out in two days! I can't believe it's finally here I just finished organizing all my items for the swap meet last night, now just to decide on who gets to come along with me.

 

@glyndon Yep! I've been in the hobby for ages, though At the rate this faceup is going (ie. slow and frustrating), I might enter my Kobalt instead... *cries* I hate that all my things are packed and I'm living on my parents' couch, hahaha! Timing is fantastic. Oh well! I'm super excited!

 

Phew, I decided last minute to sign up for the swap. I got everything together, and just need to price it all. I have more stuff than I thought. This will be my first bjd swap, so I'm really looking forward to it!

 

I'll be finishing my contest entry faceup literally on Thursday, thanks to a surprise running out of sealant and needing to be out of town Wednesday... at least I know she'll be fresh-faced for the convention!

 

We're leaving tomorrow after work I'm suddenly panicking. Why do I always forget how much I HATE flying? And the astronomical guilt of leaving my pups behind for more than a day...ugh.

 

The excitement! The anticipation!

 

I can't wait for tomorrow! I've been stalking the tracking number for my Asleep Eidolon 1/2 Calandra. I was hoping she'd get here in time to come with me, but it doesn't look like she will. Oh well...

 

I'll be there! I don't know which days but I'll try to make it at least tomorrow and Sunday!

 

Our flight landed last night close to midnight But we're here!! I can't wait for tonight!

I'm already excited for next year! It was so much fun just to meet so many doll people and to see so many lovely dolls, and everyone was so nice. Also glad that next year will be at the same location, and that we'll have an extra week between the writers' conference we attend every year and Resin Rose.

I'm just looking forward to it immensely after how much fun our first time was.

 

Were Con photos posted anywhere? I wasn't able to attend, but I'd like to see what it looked like. Thanks!
