Repair Repairing chipped eyeliner

Apr 17, 2023

    1. I recently got a doll back from getting a faceup and I'm in love with her! However, in just over a week of having her, I've somehow managed to chip her eyeliner along her eyelashes.

I'm super bummed because I was being extremely careful with her since my first doll had chips all over he nose and chin from carelessness on my part and i literally just got her back. Plus, when I got previous doll touched up she came back...different, so I really dont want to have to send her out because I'm worried the faceup might change in some small way I'll dislike.

I'm hoping it's possible for me to repair it myself since it's such a small chip on a hard to see place. Maybe taking some black off a watercolour pencil or putting a dot of acrylic? Any insight would be appreciated!

    2. Can you provide a photo? That would make it easier to give you a proper answer on how this can be repaired :3nodding:

    3. For sure! You can see the damage on her left eyelid, between her eyelashes. It's not super big, and its at a strange spot, almost between the lashes, but its presence still bothers me haha

    4. Ahhh I can see what ur talking about! I would use some small brushes to dab on black acrylic paint, probably a light flow paint. And then use a brush to apply some matte brush on sealant like a Vallejo Matte varnish. I think that should be an okay fix

    5. I agree with what Yakutie said. If I had to fix that myself I'd first use some brush on sealant to fill up the hole a little/seal the bare resin. The Vallejo Premium Matt Varnish or similar works great for that. Once it's hardened and cured, I'd apply some diluted acrylic paint until it's blended in with the surrounding area. Let it fully dry and cure again. Afterwards apply the varnish again to seal. That should cover up the damage and fill it up in a way that hides that there is a deeper gap.
      Good luck!
