Raccoon Doll Discussion - Part 5

Wow! He looks so incredible, @luluna. I have to say that I thought Henry looked kind of arrogant in his photos on the Raccoon Doll website, but I don't get that sense at all from your version of him. I just love his face After seeing your Henry, he has moved way up the list of Raccoon men that I want to get eventually. I like his very subtle hint of a smile.

 

Handsome man, @luluna . I'm waiting on Elf Kai + Henry head. It's good to see some pics of him. In my experience, the head with the body never likes to share. so your photos are a treat.

 

My Raccoon order finally arrived on Saturday after 10 days of sitting in Seul and several days in customs. Here's Elf Branden and Elf Momo, named Conri and Edana.

@luluna Bit late to the party but - that is one drop-dead gorgeous Henry, wow! Love him! Amazing how different the same sculpt can look with a different face-up and styling.

@vermont chick and @Khell Thank you! I'm really happy with this Nina. I have the elf Nina which I love so I wasn't expecting to like the Cleaner Nina faceup as much as I do.

@luluna I'm very impressed with Robbie. He is so nice!

For anybody waiting on their order, I just got a shipping notice for Temptation Monica, who I ordered on Feb 14th with extra Steeze Rosie head and face-ups for both. That's just a little over 3 months, which I think is pretty good considering the state of the world during those 3 months.

 

I also received the email with my tracking number today, ordered on Feb 22nd.

 

@luluna, I'm not sure why it is that the promotional pictures of Henry are just not as nice as yours. Henry is gorgeous! As is your Elf Kai.
@Patrice S, I love your new couple, and the outfits for them are wonderful. I was debating getting the outfits but in the end didn't... huge mistake. That really is a beautiful dress on Laire. I love that photo of her. In fact, I love all of your dolls, and their names. Thank you so much for all your great photos. I have one Raccoon doll, Elf Kai, and am waiting on two more. It seems like such a long wait, but I guess it really isn't. Plus, I really do wish I had ordered the outfits.... /sigh.

@oriscany - Thanks so much! I'm not sure either why the RaccoonDoll photos of Henry didn't show him to his best...but...I even liked him in spite of the photos.

The shipping situation with Raccoon is not looking so good, for my order anyway. My package got as far as the International Post Office in Korea, then says:
2020-05-20 10:14 - INTERNATIONAL POST OFFICE, Returned for aviation security reasons, Prohibited for air conveyance.
I'm not sure what that's all about, but the prohibited part doesn't make it sound like they'll be putting it on the next plane out. I was so excited, but I think I'm in for a longer wait now...

 

Apologies for the double post, but I just received an email from Raccoon:

Hello
Today, the doll we sent to you was returned and we didn't expect this situation.
We asked EMS and they said that could deliver to ONLY TORONTO.
We also confused about this issue but we will keep your doll and send it to you if delivery is possible.
We understand your disappointment and apologize for your long waiting.
Please understand this situation and do not worry about your doll because we will do our best for you get it.
Thank you~

I thought that this might be relevant information for people in Canada waiting for their orders.

 

@Patrice and @Hmac58 - Thanks so much for the kind words! Lyanne makes wonderful garments for dolls!

 

@Hmac58 Oh, that really sucks! Can you ask them if they'd consider shipping with DHL (if that's possible)? DHL got their own fleet of planes, so they might deliver parcels to other parts of Canada, too.

The new sculpt is looking fabulous. Do you think it's for the Head Project? Loving the nose, lip shape, eyes, cheekbones, everything! Very tempting if it will be our usual 1/4 size.

I finally got around to actually painting my Dreaming Gene head and putting her on the body of one of my JIDs since I'm not so into the big-headed MSD's anymore.

Yup, it fits really well! I may rough up/ suede the resin on the neck cause she has a tendency to want to tilt her head, but that's pretty much the only issue there. I've got my Mika head on another JID body and it looks lovely. The glamour bust one looks a little odd in my opinion with the Raccoon heads, but that may just be personal preference too.

Hi all, while I'm still waiting for my doll ordered during February event which cannot be shipped due to the corona situation to my country (I don't understand why as our country is among those least affected)... and I'm being so impatient and eager to see her, I would love so much to see yours RD ladies on the new slim body! And knowing about your impressions of the new body and seeing some comparison pics to the old body would be sooo great!!! Pleeease...

The sculpting is more smooth than the older bodies and the ellbowes work better- as the joints are longer - so you got more mobility and they stay int he position you put them to

@Sillion, you are not the only one. I have two dolls in limbo, and both have shipping numbers, but the tracking has not started and/ or the number is not correct. I think it's probably due to the pandemic. (Yet, I got two dolls from Japan/ Volks and there was no problem.)

Gene is really beautiful, and I love her pink under underthings. (I was going to order a few clothes but I do worry about the shipping.) Thank you @greeneyed-soul for the great photos.

 

@Patrice S I think doll with a harp is a first. She looks so lost in her music. What a nice idea.

shipping stuff is really odd at present.
Usually i can ship stuff like that for about $7 as registered mail and now the only way to ship stuff the the USA (am located in Germany) is DHL premium with insurance up to 500€ which is $60 shipping price- no matter if its a small thing like lingerie or an SD-doll, as the weight restriction is 5kg

It sucks

 

I found the harp on eBay several years ago after a lot of searching.

 

Love the picture of Nina with the harp @Patrice S. Her finger position makes it look like she truly is plucking the strings.

Thanks for sharing pics of Gene on the new body @greeneyed-soul. She's so pretty. I'm also a member of the "dolls stuck in limbo" club. It really alleviate the frustration to see pictures of other people's dolls that made it home.

@greeneyed-soul Thanks for these! I would like to see more :-) Gene is really lovely! And the body looks great. Is she sweet mocha? I've ordered mine in mocha. We don't see many of mocha skin around, so I'm really curious what it will be like. But that's a question when I will finally see her. She wasn't shipped yet and maybe it's better than stuck somewhere on the way.

To be honest- when i saw a friends Gene on the glamour body i kind of thought "yeah that suits her"

The posing of the ellbowes is really great and the hands are super detailed compared to the first version
I have a Nana which has Iplehouse FID hands in special real skin (she is sweet mocha, too)

 

I love glamour body! I have two of them, Lucy in sweet mocha, and Camilla in mint. And I hope some day I'll add one more beauty in dark mocha on glamour body.
Meanwhile, the new slim body seemed to me a bit skinny, but I like diversity in my dolls so I went for it and apparently it has its advantages and improvements.
