Raccoon Doll Discussion - Part 5

Mar 27, 2019

    1. Thank you for posting this so I didn't have to go look for it :) sadly it's almost exactly the same as their Instagram video. At least you can get a look at the joints flexing.

    2. Thanks Patrice S and Greeneyed soul. I am wondering if she can hold a kneeling pose, but I guess I shall have to order to find out ^.^
Also, looking at the height of the elbow, way above waist level, it wouldn't surprise me if RD issued a new longer upper arm part at some stage in the future? I think that would be good aesthetically.

Anyway, I have already ordered my Gene with Nana event head. I just love their sculpts!

Aernath, congrats on ordering your Lea and Andre! Your elf Kai looks great, chilling out there.
Jincincy, Drake is looking so REAL!! That's gotta be human hair he's grown? Handsome guy and perfect outfit.

    3. I got Monica some Iplehouse Fantasy hands, and after they were blushed and painted, took some photos...

    4. What a charming scene. Love the bead bottles. Where did you find those perfect brushes?

    5. I made them.

    7. @MB Lilac Those hands looks lovely on her.

My handsome David, Orsini, who's just a bit wet.

    9. @Patrice S - Delicious! :love I think I need to put some long wigs on my guys.

    10. Daaaaang, is it getting hot in here or what? *fans self* Such a handsome guy!

    11. Oooh la la...fresh from the shower? He's so handsome :)

    12. Thanks vermont chick, Khell and Lyanne!

    14. @MB Lilac Your Monica is just stunning and her setting is wonderful.

    15. Thanks! She's Queen to my Lawrence.....

    16. @MB Lilac What a stunning couple! Absolutely amazing, those two!

    17. Thanks! I love these two together.

    18. I noticed there haven't been any new posts here, recently, so here's a pic (in the usual crappy quality, cos I suck at taking pics) of Alice wearing her new knitted coat. Plus a new knitted top, too, which is the same colour and style as the old one, only different yarn. ;P

      Hope you're all doing okay!

    19. @ResinRapture So cool! The dye job looks so dope. I love their whole look! I'm a sucker for tattoos on dolls.

    20. Hi Khell, I love your Alice's knitted separates - and indeed her whole ensemble! - so much, she is totally amazing! :D

ResinRapture, that is such clever dyework! Wonderful top on your special girl.

LyanneNZ, Laetitia certainly knows her style, doesn't she, beautiful lady. That silky red dress is perfect on her.

    21. I had a rejected golden gown lying around, so tried it on Rosie....

    22. Wow - simply amazing! I am awestruck :D

    23. @LilyAndRuby Thanks! The coat's a little tighter than it's supposed to be - maybe should have used 1.5 mm needles, or slightly thicker yarn. Oh well, it's a prototype, and for that it turned out fine. :) I've since added a knitted loop scarf to the ensemble. My other Alice (a Smart Doll, so OT here) commandeered Raccoon Alice's scarf and I was too lazy to dig through my stash for the scarf's fabric and cut off a new piece ... *lol*

@MB Lilac Oh, that dress looks wonderful on Rosie! :D I'd go nuts if I had to add all those beads to such a tiny dress - I admire your patience and persistence!

    24. @MB Lilac - golden girl. what a splendid gown. it might be my favorite of your collection. :chocoberry

    25. MBLilac, so opulently (is that a word??) stunning! "Rejected" and "golden gown" will never go together in my mind though, when it comes to your exquisite works!! <3

Khell - you knit these tiny amazing things? :ablink: You have supreme talent, and Alice most surely appreciates it!

    26. @Hmac58 - Thanks. I thought she looked good in it.
@Khell - Thank you. That dress has the most beading ever, and all with super tiny beads. The dress itself didn't take very long, but the beading took weeks.
@petiteballerine - Thanks. It was definitely the most work of all of the Medieval gowns
@LilyAndRuby - Thank you. It's just that it didn't really work on the girl I made it for, so I made her a new gown, and this one was left over, to be claimed by anyone who still didn't have one.

    27. @MB Lilac Your Rosie is stunning in that gold gown.

    28. @MB Lilac - Rosie looks splendidly regal in the gold--it suits her much better than it did Yur.

    29. Sorry if this is not the right place to ask this, but I have a question about my Temptation Monica order. I hadn't checked it in a while and the status now says "Queued for shipment". Does that mean that it's close to being shipped or can it remain at that status for a long time?

    30. @Patrice S - Thank you. She had been wearing the green gown at first, but she had to give it up when I ordered a new girl to replace her as one of my guy's love interests.
@vermont chick - Thanks. It just goes to show you can't always tell what's going to look good on a doll. I thought the gold would be greta on Yur but I ended up having to make her something in blue instead. Which was to Rosie's advantage.

Here's my whole gang now, as of yesterday, with my two Raccoon ladies in front....

    31. @MB Lilac Absolutely fabulous! :D :D :D

@LilyAndRuby Thanks! :) Alice sure seems to appreciate that new loop scarf. The tiny knitting does have the advantage that you can just take human-sized knitting patterns and "downscale" them by using e.g. size 1 needles instesd of size 4 and adjust the yarn accordingly. More often than not that works with minimal or even no modification. Looks like, in my world, the go-to fashion of the apocalypse is knits. ;)

    32. Queued for Shipment means the doll is complete and is ready to go. It used to be you could expect shipment within the week but nowadays that depends on how many other orders are also ready. Events tend to result in more orders, which slow things down.

    33. Thanks for that information, @vermont chick . I placed the order on February 13th and I was expecting production to be slowed down a lot by the pandemic so it's really good news to know that the order is completed :cheer

      • x 1
    34. My order was just shipped and was Queued for about 3 weeks but I've had other orders take less time once they were Queued.

    35. Thanks, that's really good to know :)

    36. I was thinking more of major sales events rather than the pandemic, but both kinds of events will slow things down. Few doll companies have a lot of storage space, however, so they like to move things out as quickly as possible.

    37. After taking his sweet time to get from Bochum (where the friend I ordered him with modded and face-upped him for me) here to Munich (I guess he was partying hard all weekend), Nicholai finally got here today! :D Alice and Claire immediately had a briefing with him on my balcony, to show him the ropes. He seems quite happy to be the only guy among the ladies.

Nicholai is a Raccoon Doll Henry with modded eyes (I wanted them smaller, so he'd look more like Zack Ward), on an FID body. Perfect height compared to the girls. Alice is a Raccoon Doll Nina (Cleaner, with altered eyebrows) on the old slim body. Claire is an FID Stella. (Ignore Claire's chest - she needs a breast reduction and some sanding. *lol*)

      Bonus pics here:
Nicholai with different eyes that don't make him look like a demon ate his soul:
      Nicholai

Finally a pic where Alice looks as beautiful as she really is:

    38. @Khell - Congrats on Nicholai's arrival. He looks good on the FID body. What resin colors did you put together for the hybrid? Great job of modding the eyes.

    39. @vermont chick - Thanks! He's awesome - but it's gonna be a challenge to find boots that fit him. *lol* IIRC (we ordered the dolls last fall, that is my friend ordered them, so it's been a while ...) both dolls were the regular NS. It's a really good match regarding the resin colour, Nicholai's head only looks darker than the body because of the face-up.

    40. Iplehouse makes boots for FID. The price isn't too bad. I was pretty sure Normal resin from both companies would match. It's nice to know the head only looked darker because of the faceup. Love his green vest.

    41. Just to let folks know how shipping is right now. My order was shipped on 4/24 and finally is in an airplane today so that's 10 days waiting in Seul to get to Chicago.

    42. Decided to give Monica some daughters.....

    43. Thanks for the update on shipping times, @Patrice S. Congratulations on your package finally heading across the ocean. My order is still queued for shipment but that gives me hope that it might move soon.

@MB Lilac, your Monica and her daughters look wonderful together. I love how they are interacting and of course, their outfits are amazing.

    44. Patrice S. That's great news about the shipping!
Hmac58, I am joining you in the wait now too!

MB Lilac, it's the glorious colour combinations that blow me away! and the details, like the little swirly feather in the eldest daughter's cap.. it looks like a scene from a beautiful fairytale.

    45. @Hmac58 - Thank you. I find that I have to pose the smaller dolls in profile to make them fit better with Monica's smaller head.
@LilyAndRuby - Thank you. I just curled the feathers with a scissors like you can curl thin ribbon by just running it along the blade

    46. My doll is also still Queued for Shipment. I am also waiting for an Iplehouse and they have a notice on their page, that EMS South Korea does not accept packages to some countries (the list is long) and I wonder, if this might be the issue :nowords:

    47. You might be right, @quake. I hadn't seen that. Did you see a list of countries written in English? The only thing that I could find was when I clicked on the grey box titled Delivery and was taken to the EMS site. On that site the list of countries not accepting EMS is in table form and I'm not able to translate it.

    48. @Hmac58 I just can share what's written in the Iplehouse notice. Hope it is okay to write about IH in a Raccoondoll thread and I am sorry, if not allowed.

"Currently, the following countries are not accepting our parcels via EMS post office.

      QATAR
      NETHERLANDS
      NORWAY
      BELGIUM
      AUSTRIA
      NEW ZEALAND
      TURKEY
      DENMARK
      UZBEKISTAN
      SAUDI ARABIA
      PORTUGAL
      POLAND
      FINLAND
      MACAO
      SWEDEN
      SWITZERLAND
      CZECH REP
      SPAIN
      CHILE
      TAIWAN
      ITALY

For the customers of these countries , we will hold the parcels at our office until package delivery is resumed.

The following countries are currently having delivery delay of EMS.

      - USA
      - Japan
      - Hong Kong

      - Vietnam
      - England"

But actually... my country is not on this list! I was so sure, it was! :doh:lol:

    49. My country is not on the list either, so hopefully that means my Monica will be shipped soon. Thanks for sharing that, @quake
