Winter Event with 20 % discounts on women and men. New Elf Camilla and Jungle Girl Iris. I'm so glad I didn't jump on the first doll I saw elsewhere, because Elf Camilla is a strong contender. The event runs from today to December 19th.

 

Thanks for the heads up! I like jungle girl Iris, but in particular I love her flats! I need those! I like her faceup too, it gives me hope for my own Iris which I’m still painting...

I’m less impressed with the new elf....her overall styling I’m just not sure about. Maybe it’s mostly her sword I’m unhappy with... you don’t generally see sword hilts look choppy like that. Although I’m all for elves with swords! They need to release option hands for those

 

I really like new elf Camilla but the outfit seems to me like "hippie elf" - I find that quite funny . (I must admit I am totally into The Lord of The Rings outfits, so the short skirts are not my cup of tea - it feels to me she forgot part of her attire somewhere). But I accept that everyone can imagine elvish clothing in different way.

Camilla goes to my wishlist, but I will wait for human version. The discount is pretty nice, yet no dollies for me this winter.

 

I agree about the outfit, @boudica. My first impression was of a chopped off kimono. I won't get her outfit--or the sword--both to save money and because neither is my cup of tea. I do like the boots, however. If I do choose to order her, Elf Camilla will come with makeup and boots. I'll make the rest.

 

The girl needs some leggings. My first thought was "She forgot her pants!" That top is perfectly workable. . if it had some nice leggings with it. The sword though. . that just makes me sad. I get what they were going for, sort of a more nature-based thing that was smelted from a single giant ingot of metal or something. . .but it reads like the model kept breaking so they had to put some chewing gum on it before they cast it so it wouldn't fall apart. That may sound harsh. . but it's totally the image it gave me.

 

BJDivas said my Iris and my partners Lucy are done! Guess I need to crack down and start getting her demon hunter items together and planning face ups and modding!

The new girl is pretty but far too soft for any of my elves and I agree the outfit would look best with some leggings!

The sword.....left a lot to be desired. I was excited to see one but when I looked at it closer I felt the quality just wasnt on par with other swords on the market.

 

My thoughts exactly about the sword. I was really hoping I would like it. . but I just can't get past the chewing gum look. I guess I'm gonna have to make my own. -grumble-

 

The sword makes me wish Raccoon had stuck with resin instead of branching out into silver. Besides the unfinished look of it, I imagine the silver will be heavier than resin and harder for the doll to hold without a sword hand.

And about the new RD girl. I really like her and new Mocha Skin. Just a perfect skin color for me.
As for the outfit, it has a great start on top and then it suddenly ends
I saw a similar outfit in Korean MMO game It seems that the designer looked at the clock, he realized that the working time was over and sent the result as it is.

 

I actually really do like the two new releases!

Jungle Girl Iris has a simple outfit - but the cheetah print skirt is lovely. My own girl is requesting one, I think! Hehe. I think her outfit would "pop" more with a little bit of sparkle. Maybe some jewelry?

Elf Camilla - I really love her make-up. Super sexy. She is my favorite of the two releases. The blue eyeliner is fabulous! I actually think the outfit is quite nifty, but I do agree that it could be seen as a little choppy. My favorite part is the headband.

 

Mateo, I actually was surprised how easily they could be siblings but my elf Nina will be a lost cousin to my Monica.

I really like both new girls but I need another girl like a hole in the head.

 

Last year I convinced my friend to buy a Raccoon Doll Laetitia so that they could have a doll of Sombra from Overwatch. I finally got her painted for them. I take forever to get anything done which is why I'm only now finishing this lol. I wanted to finish painting all the dolls I have here though before I get any new ones. . so here she is!

So excited to take advantage of the Winter event! When it comes to bodies, I swore I read somewhere that the glamorous bodies had difficulty keeping the knees closed when sitting...I can't seem to find the information again though.
Those of you who have glamour bodies-is it true? And beyond that, are there any other posing oddities about the glamour hips you've experienced?

The hands are the Iplehouse FID fantasy hands in light brown which is a pretty good match for Raccoon's Dark Mocha.

Two new males are up this morning--elf Ron and human Branden. Both are great but I love Branden so he'll be coming home here.

 

They did a good job on the facial hair on branden

 

I like them both, but Branden is especially yummy. Love him with long hair. Wish Raccoon hadn't brought them out so close to Christmas. I'm short of funds. I can only hope he'll bring them back later in different makeup, like he usually does.

 

I like them also...but I admit to having a difficult seeing much difference between Elf Kai and Elf Ron. I wish Raccoon would include PROFILE shots....

@vermont chick, oh, I really hope the same! I like Branden so much, but I am already paying installments for another doll... Hope I will have a chance to buy him later!

 

Ron and Kai have a similar look but I see a difference in the shape of the face and chin.

Weee got my Mika head all paid off. I'm excited to have someone new to work on soon. . or whenever they get her sent which will hopefully be sort of soon.

The new boys are pretty darned handsome. Particularly that elf boy, Ron. . stop tempting me, Raccoon! I've gotta be good for now sadly, I'm trying not to put anything on credit cards for a while. I'm also gonna run out of shelf space and seating >__>. Maybe I should get more chairs for everyone. . .

I'm so happy there is another New Yorker here. Customs is the worst. My packages usually stay there for 2 days extra (not counting the weekend) before getting to me. So annoying. Question though, do they ever provoke the doll after they see it?

 

@Dyelee91 - My international packages always land at JFK before heading north to me in Vermont. Generally things move through Customs quickly, so long as they don't arrive on the weekend. That's when you get the backup. I'm afraid I don't understand your question about provoking the doll (?)

@ResinRapture - Love your Christmas photo. That lace is to die for!

Oh ok thanks for the info. Sorry about my clarity I meant if they remove the doll from the box then put it back or anything like that.

 

Ah, now I get it. Fortunately, I don't think Customs has ever removed one of my dolls from its box. In fact, I've never seen evidence that any of my boxes have been opened. I've read horror stories, usually from other countries, of dolls that arrive home with dirty fingerprints on their bodies and the interior packaging all in disarray. The Postal Service would get an earful from me if that ever happened here.

 

I have not had one opened in a long time. At least there were very clear that it had been inspected by customs with special tape and an insert. They were NOT careful about repacking! I think they know the major doll manufacturers and don't both with them most of the time.

Lmao I'm so happy to hear you say that cause I would rain hell on them myself. I've heard a couple stories too that's why I had to ask because they were usually dolls sent to Canada or they were mailed to the USA then sent somewhere else so I got scared. My first doll should be coming soon so trying to gather even more info as I go along.

 

The only packages I ever had go astray contained doll clothing. Both were small boxes, so I'm not surprised they got lost in the shuffle. Something as big as a doll box gets noticed so it's harder to put it on the wrong plane. If you're already in the NY metropolitan area, I would imagine delivery should be quick and easy once the package hits the ground. No worries.

Raccoon has two new girls up. One is an elf (Amanda) and the other is human (Thalia). Much as I like Amanda I had to content myself with ordering her gown plus a couple of other clothing items.
