Quadruped lion-dog "Jaquel" (2/25/07 new pics page 5)

Sep 21, 2005

    1. Jaquel is adorable.

Thanks so much for the lobster-claw tip. I was wondering about attaching my planned doll's pieces and parts, & that ought to do it.

    2. *wants* hes just soo adorable!!! You rwak! :D

    3. Oh wow he is stunning :o :o So cute :chibi

    4. So awesome!! I love your stuff!!

    5. :o adorable. so cute.. dies of cuteness

    6. Do you think you may ever be interested in taking commissions? *_*

    7. XD ooo...that is tempting...I've had people asking me about it before. It just takes so much time to make one.. X_X ....Maybe I should think of trying to cast an animal BJD after I figure out and cast my anthrodoll.

What were you interested in, just out of curosity? (What kind of animal BJD?) :daisy

    8. Haha I have no idea... I would rather leave it up to you and be surprised! :D X3

    9. Seriously... you need to be looking into casting these. They're AMAZING. I'm a dog nut and I'd be hard pushed NOT to buy me one if you started selling them. Your work is just... breathtaking.

    10. Actually... *smirks* I would love to get my Mini May (named Ponie) a pony... :3 OMGZ that would be cute XDDD

    11. :chibi
I've been keeping up with Nixie since I first saw her, but Jaquel is just... Wow!! I'm so impressed with your work. I'd love to see it in person. I think a friend of yours was at the SCAD dollmeet a week or two ago. I hope you can make it to future meetings. We'd love to have you and the dolls there.

And, I'm sorry if this is too personal a question, but are you down in Weston/Dyson? I recognize the balcony.

    12. :blush Weee thanks! ^_^ I'm veyr happy everyone likes Jaquel's design, he was an experiment that went pretty good, I might make a slightly bigger version of him with redesigned joints at his back ankle and front knees to cast and stuff...but that would not be soon... XD but a good idea because lots of people seem to want to steal him

Yes, indeed I live at 212 Weston. I missed the first doll meet because no one told me about it... XD it's okay, if there is another one I'll come for sure and bring Jaquel, Nixie and Arwen. That would be fun!

    13. If you make those and sell them, sign me up! My boyfriend likes catgirls and it would be a great bribe for him to overlook my obsession. (I'd prefer a cat boy, but that's just me)

    14. haha awesome! ^^ A good excuse indeed! I have been getting requests for a MALE anthro body, so I think I'll make a male torso too (same legs / arms). ^_^ But yea, that's not for a while so don't worry about buying it soon. If you want to start saving go right on ahead ^__^ !

When I have more done of the 24" anthrodoll I'll post the pics in a new thread. :daisy

    15. ohmigosh, this has got to be the most unique and adorable thing i've ever seen in my life. what a sweetheart.

    16. wow , so cute! your scult are always amazing :)

    17. i really find the dog concept nice. but i'm not sure if it's actually a dog.

if you were to sell them, i would be interested if there was any way to get dog looking feet. and, of course, the price would probably be crazy, maybe not if you made molds though. i'm not sure, i guess that's all on you. and also if the tails and ears could be the same material because i would look for a more natural looking one. perhaps just black.

I think you could make a lot of money selling things like this. i'm not sure what other people find appealing, but i supose a poll could be made.

      you're very talented. i'm jelouse.

    18. i lied! i like the feet. i was looking at nixie's feet. ^-^'

    19. OMG he is so damn cute, excellent paintjob and sculpting wow.. amazing.. soo cute! love the pic with all his legs splayed out looks like he fell over.. aww :D i cant get over the cuteness!! :D :D :D

    20. Old thread bump to say that this is AWESOME. Your custom dolls are really impressive <3

    21. I'm out of words. Totally breathtaking work. You're very talented and skilled :D :D :D

Just out of curiosity, what are you studying, Lithe-Fider?

    22. X3 thank you so much!

I am always learning and trying to get better at my clay work. I still have a looong way to go. I think an artist can never stop learning their art, no matter how long they do it or how good others think they are, there is always room for improvement! ^_^

Studying? You mean at where I go to college (here at SCAD?). I am planning to be an Animation major, with maybe a sculpture minor (BIG maybe...the sculpture program here seems to be too abstract-y for my tastes). My dream is to become a character animator / designer / modeler, or a maquette artist (they make the characters in clay for the animators to look at) for videogames, movie special effects, or animation. ^___^

    23. ...I want one...

It could be a pet for my MSDs!

Fantastic job! He's super cute and so adorable with his little paws and furry head and body. Actually, he reminds me of my Grandmother's dogs since they look like that, no fur except for the head, tail, and the feet. It just needs a slightly longer muzzle and it'd look just like a Chinese Crested! Well, it also needs to not be purple, but he looks sooo cute in purple!

    24. Oh, Jaquel is so cute! I love his little paws! :D

      Congrats on an amazing job!

    25. Lol since I've got more money coming in soon I'm so going to get some kitty esque thing made for my doll once you get her for me Lithe. lol it will be amusing using your board name too.

    26. Kitty thing? O_o I am curious about this.. *evil grin*

Now of course I need money (who doesn't) But don't spend it all on me and commissions, I'd feel guilty. XD; be sure to not ignore your PS2 or computer!

But yea, I could do whatever for you, we’ll see. ^_^

    27. Can we post ball jointed animal projects still? I know this was put here in 2005. I hope so as I just started one and really want to share the progress :(

    28. No, you can't (see the rules). Another girl did recently and her thread got deleted. Animal head on human body is OK, though.

    29. Wow!! Jaquel is amazing!! great job on the jointing. Love it :fangirl:

    30. *shocked-stunned-amazed!*
      WOWYOUAREINCREDIBLE!!
Your sculpts totally blow my mind!
Where did you learn to sculpt things like this or are you self-taught?
      Wow again!

    31. I still want one :|

    32. I love the dolls you sculpt, What a cutey!
Are you going to be casting him in resin?? I would Love LoVe LOVE one!!!
      i'm so amazed right now.

    33. simply amazing ^,^ I love the colors and added fur!

    34. o.o that must have really taken quite a long time! But I love the colors and fur ^^

    35. :D That just blew my mind how you made the cute lil guy!!!
They are both amazing pieces of art! :abow:

    36. Cute beyond words! Bravo!

    37. awww he's so darned cute! *scratches him* Nixie and Jaquel look great together!

    38. BTW here are some new pics! I restrung him with better elastic and he can STAND ON TWO LEGS! :D Watch as Jaquel shoes you some of his tricks:

And some more cuteness....cause cuteness rocks:

Also sorry to all...I really have no plans to cast copies of Jaquel... XD;; Maybe someday I'll make a similar dog or cat four-legged BJD to cast and sell...but not anytime soon I think. Down the pipline indeed maybe! X33 I really want to make my own dolls/figures and toys!

I am working on a 60 cm anthro doll similar to Nixie but with better design and everything ^^ and plan to cast that to sell a few. :) I am taking a casting class next quarter here at college and plan to learn! O_O I am up for the challenge! (And ridiculous price of resin / silicone... XD; )

    39. :o LOOKATITGO! :o *uberquickpointyfingerwave!*

That. is. AWESOME! ^__________^ The poseability is a killer!

    40. This thread was started before the artist subforum rules were tightened, but for about the last 6 months we've had the rule that doll projects need to be humanoid. In fairness to members who aren't allowed to post animal BJDs under the new guidelines, I'm going to close this thread.

He's an awesomely poseable project - congrats on finishing him and I look forward to seeing your other projects. :)
