shrinkomatic, Black Icicle is so cool! (no pun intended) I particularly like the graphic quality of the back of her costume, and the delicate layering of her crown and wristlets.

Yup, I need the extension too. I just put together the mock-up outfit and for once there are no changes to be made - I got the pattern right on the first try! It may go fast unless I start adjusting what I use as the trims.

On the PR front...Pooki has demanded a complete rethinking of his character! He refuses to take off the tux, which was indeed crafted this month, and says it's intrinsic to his evil world-domination plans. So...he might make it in yet!

 

I'm asking for an extension. Being injured and job hunting has gotten in the way of sewing. I just finished the skirt.

Thanks for kind comments on my costume! V pleased to have got it finished as won't be around at deadline time - but really looking forward to seeing everyone's outfits! Vindalootoo - the tiara / gauntlets are made of premo sculpey (the translucent colours - though I've discovered that if you bake them at too high a temperature they go scorched brown!)... Hope you had as much fun at the weekend as the Pookster looks to be having!

The convention was just what I needed. Some important face-time with my editor got a whole lot of business settled with smiles on all sides, so...couldn't be better! Can you believe that fellow started that costume in April!?! It was phenomenal.

 

Unfortunately I'm going to have to withdraw. I never quite got my butt in gear this month.

Back after a few days break and loving seeing all the new costumes that have appeared!
blue oracle, her costume looks gorgeous by daylight, but the el wire glowing effect is amazing! frenchaddict, fab outfit, really suits him and the character, and love the gloves! Vindalootoo, the pookster looks brilliant, v dapper and amazing posing to show his costume off (dread to think what he'll get up to with all that gold though!)! LadyFeather, wonderful outfit - even more so as sounds like a nightmare to sew the melting material! (and you've managed to do a fully functioning invisibility costume too ). canada, she looks really pretty, and love her mask!

Namaro: you made two outfits! Whoa! And Mookie rocks them both. LOVE the nose/glasses disguise! Did you buy those? Where did you find them! So funny! And his new faceup is T-riffic! And the boots are a hoot!

Great job everyone. Some of the categories I thought would be difficult to portray, but everyone had such a unique take on the subject matter and pulled off the themes remarkably well.
Blue Oracle: Love the special effects at the end and your description of how she would use her powers. The reflective trim was a nice touch. Well done.
French addict: Your guy really embodies the earth hero. I think you really nailed the look.
Witchcraft: Love the tiara and anklets. Such pretty fabric as well. Great interpretation of the theme.
Vindalootoo: The Pookster looks so dashing and debonair. You got a lot of detail in that tux for a tiny. I am impressed. I can appreciate the difficulty.
Lady Feather: I especially liked the picture with the empty suit. The invisibility power was one for sure I would not know how to portray. Your guy as a magician was a perfect concept. Super tailoring on that suit.
Canada: That crocheted mask is so pretty. I can see your girl as a wind heroine with her billowy skirt and wrist streamers. Cool design and execution.
PRGerry:Your girl has the sexy heroine outfit for sure. Great job on the costume and story.

Just for the record, I did not make the outfit in the first picture of Mookie where he is wearing his alter ego disguise. I was using that picture as his entry picture. Vindalootoo: I got the glasses on eBay under the Kelly/Tommy doll section. At one time, I also saw them on the Tabloach website but I don't think she has them regularly.

 

Elfmoon, m'dear, I didn't see this before I answered the PM. As I said privately, please don't be upset about it. To my fellow contestants, I'd like to explain my reasoning. Once we decided to do an actual backyard wedding (and include the resin kids) rather than a courthouse formality, (a decision made after I accepted the PR challenge) I had a choice timewise: combine the two or not participate and so I designed his story around what I needed to make anyway. I've been trying for a year now to pull other people in and generate interest in the game which has brought me so much joy, and then, after touting it, I had to drop out of several challenges in a row. I didn't want to drop out of another one if I could avoid it. Yes, the tux did double duty, but it was still made as much for this challenge as for the wedding, for all my public jokes about him not wanting to take it off. That was really more to excuse the fact that I didn't have the time to complete his "after midnight" costume, and so again shifted his story a bit to accommodate, but the tux was always meant to be his alt-ego outfit, and since it was conceived, designed and completed within the month, I thot it would be OK and within the rules.

If the judges perceive it differently, that's their job, and I respect it. They've done a great job of giving us outstanding challenges. I'm not about to make waves over this. I just wanted everyone to know, I really thot I was operating within the rules.

Oh, dear, I hope he releases you unsquooshed Vindalootoo! Perhaps you should remind him that as a super-villain he's supposed to break all the rules anyhow! (Not to mention all the extra becostumed screen-time he's getting as a result and the chance to show off his outfit and super-powers )...
I love the new outfits that are up as well - PRGerry, your pukisha looks great and her outfit really suits her and her character! Namaro, Mookie's transformation is brilliant and there's so much detail in his tiny outfit (not to mention kudos for saving the kitty!). Witchcraft, really well done for finishing at all in some difficult circumstances - let alone finishing with such a beautiful outfit, and love all the sculpted details too!

 

I like this! "And I would have gotten away with it, too, if it hadn't been for those pesky kids!" Maybe he can serve as cheerleader for this challenge and boo the heroes.

Namaro, mild mannered Mookie had me laughing for several minutes. Thank you I’ve a few busy/stressful days and needed that. He’s so cute and makes a great hero. Well done.

Blue Oracle, love, love, love the outfit. It’s simple yet captivating. Sexing yet classy. The design is interesting and something I can totally see coming out of a comic book. I really like the front view picture where she doesn’t have the coat. She looks so strong, and if you piss her off you’ll regret it. The glamour shot is a thing of beauty.

Witchcraft, I love the colour of that outfit. It works with her hair perfectly. I love things with a mythological influence, very nice.

Shrinkomatic, I like the picture. Nice tribute to the theme. Comic books often have the mash up of heroes and villains on covers or for posters. Love it.

This was such a great contest! Everyone's outfits are just so cool. And great photograph shrinkomatic! It's always so neat seeing all the characters together.

 

I was wondering about that, too!

I was also thinking that if my earth villain went up against frenchaddict's noble Earthman, she'd get her little bunny butt kicked. (For one thing, she'd be too busy admiring the sheer sartorial splendor of his costume - "Ooooh! Shot silk!" - to concentrate on the fight.)

Ruh-roh. That doesn't sound good.

 

I don't know about that polyhmnia he might be too distracted by her magnificent headdress and sparkling gems on her splendid knitted costume.

 

I'm betting the villains will find a way to corrupt the good-guys and they'll ALL take over the universe! The Poobanator is already penning a formal invitation to Mookie... (Bwahahahahaha)
